Mahavatar Narsimha has emerged as one of the most successful animated devotional films of the year, achieving blockbuster status at the box office. Originally released in Kannada, the film was later dubbed into multiple languages and received an overwhelmingly positive response. Surprisingly, the film even reached Karachi, Pakistan, where it was screened for a large audience.
Despite Pakistan being a predominantly Islamic country with Hindus as a minority, the screening at the Swami Narayan Mandir in Karachi garnered global attention. Videos from the event are now going viral on social media, suggesting that more such films could reach Pakistan in the future if the reception continues.
The animated feature, which no one expected to gross ₹300 crore, set impressive box office records. It has also been recently considered for Oscar nominations. Mahavatar Narsimha is the first installment in a seven-part animated series known as the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. Directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Kleem Productions, the film’s distribution was handled by Hombale Films.

Thalapathy Vijay is reportedly planning to conclude his illustrious film career with Jana Nayagan, which is set for a grand Sankranthi release next year. The film’s business prospects have already surprised the trade, with the worldwide gross required to break even estimated at ₹500 crore.
As reported earlier, Vijay is one of the rare stars who commands massive box office numbers regardless of critical reception. His recent films may not have won universal acclaim, but his market value remains unshaken. With Jana Nayagan being his last film, anticipation among fans is at an all-time high. The film is also expected to give Vijay a certain political mileage.
For comparison, his previous release Varisu (Vaarasudu) grossed ₹300 crore, and had it been a blockbuster, it could have set box office records. Given the current buzz, if Jana Nayagan succeeds, crossing ₹500 crore worldwide should be achievable. The breakeven breakdown estimates over ₹200 crore from Tamil Nadu alone, more than ₹100 crore from the combined Telugu, Karnataka, and Kerala markets, and over ₹200 crore from overseas collections.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan stars Mamitha Baiju and Pooja Hegde in pivotal roles, promising a grand cinematic farewell for Vijay.

Boyapati is no different—he won’t step out of his house unless the muhurtham is right, and he avoids bad timings even for routine work.
Given their beliefs, it is highly possible that Boyapati may have initiated or suggested this Homam, or someone close to the team arranged it based on his direction.
