The much-awaited trailer of Mastiii 4 dropped today, but instead of excitement, it has sparked a wave of criticism from viewers for its overly vulgar and cheap humor.

The film reunites original stars Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, and Riteish Deshmukh, alongside Nargis Fakhri, Arshad Warsi, and Tusshar Kapoor. Despite the star-studded lineup, fans took to social media expressing disappointment, calling the trailer “full of vulgarity” and “not funny at all.”

One netizen wrote, “There’s an objectionable scene involving a Muslim woman — this could spark a major controversy near the release. I don’t know how the censor board cleared this.” Another user commented, “Never seen this level of vulgarity in every frame. It’s tasteless and unnecessary.”

16,000 Afghan Refugees Deported in One Day

A total of 16,243 Afghan refugees were forcibly deported from Iran and Pakistan in a single day, the Taliban’s deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said on Tuesday, local Afghan outlets reported. According to Fitrat, 2,963 families returned to Afghanistan on Monday through key border crossings including Islam Qala in Herat, Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Pul-i-Abresham in Nimroz, Bahramcha in Helmand, and Torkham.

Of those returned, 2,161 families — comprising 11,772 individuals — were transported onward to their home provinces. Humanitarian support was provided to 1,882 returnees, and telecom operators distributed nearly 3,000 SIM cards to assist with communication needs.

Meanwhile, Germany is set to receive the fourth group of Afghan refugees sanctioned for relocation under its humanitarian admission program. The group will arrive in Hanover from Islamabad. This follows the evacuation of 14 Afghan nationals last week under the same initiative, aimed at aiding individuals most at risk since the Taliban takeover in 2021 — including activists, journalists, and former local staff.

However, Berlin’s current coalition government has indicated the programme may be reduced or phased out in the coming months.

Google has expanded Chrome’s autofill capabilities to include additional personal identification details such as passport numbers, driver’s licence information, and vehicle registration data. With the feature enabled, desktop users will see Chrome automatically suggest entries for documents like passports, driving licences, VINs and licence plates. Google says improved form recognition technology will help ensure accuracy across various form layouts and formats.

The company emphasised that privacy and security remain central to the update. Chrome will only store and use personal data with explicit user permission, encrypt all information end-to-end, and require user confirmation before any autofill action takes place.

The feature is currently rolling out globally across all languages, with Google noting that more document types will be supported soon.

This update is part of a broader set of upgrades to Chrome as Google looks to stay competitive in the growing field of AI-powered browsers. Recent improvements include expanding Gemini access to all Mac and Windows users in the U.S., upcoming agentic AI features, enhanced security tools such as scam detection and automatic password resets, and easier account switching options.

India’s smartphone market recorded strong growth in the July–September quarter of 2025, expanding 5% year-on-year in shipments and 18% in value, according to Counterpoint Research. The surge marks the highest quarterly value ever achieved in the Indian smartphone market.

The rebound was driven by festive season sentiment, aggressive promotions, and a clear consumer shift toward higher-priced smartphones. Analysts noted that the market’s focus has shifted from expanding volumes to increasing value through premium offerings.

Easing retail inflation, improved consumer confidence, and the availability of easy financing and trade-in deals contributed to an upgrade cycle. “Softer interest rates and easy financing options further fueled upgrade-driven demand,” said Prachir Singh, Senior Analyst at Counterpoint, adding that brands also stocked ahead of demand and rolled out strong discounts on previous-generation models.

The premium smartphone segment (₹30,000 and above) grew 29% year-on-year — the fastest among all price bands — pushing the overall average selling price higher by 13%.

Apple led the premium category with a 28% value share, supported by robust demand for the iPhone 16 and 15 lineups. The newly launched iPhone 17 series also opened to strong early traction. Samsung followed with a 23% value share, driven by its Galaxy S and A series alongside record foldable shipments.

By volume, vivo (excluding iQOO) topped the market with a 20% share, thanks to its strong offline presence and performance of the T-series. Samsung came in second at 13%, while OPPO (excluding OnePlus) continued to gain momentum by strengthening its product and retail strategy.

In a milestone shift, Apple entered India’s top five smartphone brands by volume for the first time, reinforcing India’s position as its third-largest market globally. The iPhone 16 remained the most shipped smartphone in the country for the second consecutive quarter.

Analysts noted that Apple’s retail expansion, financing schemes, and growing aspirational appeal are enabling deeper market penetration, including into smaller cities.
