Chiranjeevi secures court order to protect his name and image rights

Megastar Chiranjeevi has secured an injunction order from a Hyderabad court, prohibiting the unauthorized use of his name, photographs, or likeness for commercial purposes without his prior consent. This move reflects a growing trend among Indian celebrities to legally safeguard their personality and publicity rights.
Actors like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni have taken similar legal measures, but Chiranjeevi appears to be going a step further. According to sources, he has formed a special monitoring team to identify and act against individuals or businesses misusing his name or image for profit.
The team’s responsibility includes verifying such instances and issuing legal notices when necessary. In one recent case, the team investigated an eatery allegedly using Chiranjeevi’s name for promotion. Upon finding that the owner was simply a fan and not making commercial gains, the issue was resolved amicably.
Chiranjeevi’s proactive approach highlights his commitment to protecting his reputation and brand value. Industry observers believe this initiative could also be part of a larger strategy — possibly linked to future recognition or honors from the government.
Whatever the intent, the move underscores how top Indian stars are increasingly vigilant about their public image in an era where celebrity identity carries immense commercial and cultural weight.

India lift maiden Women’s World Cup with 52-run win over South Africa

A spirited all-round performance powered India to their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup triumph, as they defeated South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday night.
After setting a challenging target of 299, India’s bowlers — led by Deepti Sharma’s sensational five-wicket haul — ensured South Africa’s chase never fully took off. The Proteas were bowled out for 246 in 45.3 overs, despite captain Laura Wolvaardt’s valiant 101.
Wolvaardt’s dismissal in the 42nd over, followed quickly by Chloe Tryon’s wicket in the same over, ended South Africa’s hopes, with 78 still needed off the final eight overs. Nadine de Klerk fought hard down the order, but Deepti’s precision and consistency sealed the deal for the hosts in front of a jubilant home crowd.
Deepti Sharma (5/39) was the star of the bowling unit, while Shafali Verma chipped in crucially with two quick wickets, dismissing Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp to turn the game firmly in India’s favour. Earlier, Sree Charani trapped Anneke Bosch LBW, and Amanjot Kaur’s sharp direct hit to remove Tazmin Brits gave India the breakthrough they needed after a brisk 50-run opening stand by the Proteas.
Earlier in the day, India posted an imposing 298/7 — the second-highest total ever in a Women’s World Cup final. Openers Smriti Mandhana (45) and Shafali Verma (87) provided a strong platform with a century stand. Deepti Sharma’s composed 54 and Richa Ghosh’s quickfire 34 added crucial runs in the middle and death overs.
For South Africa, Ayabonga Khaka (3/58) was the standout bowler, supported by Nadine de Klerk, Chloe Tryon, and Nonkululeko Mlaba, who claimed one wicket each.
Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara Struggles: Fifth Flop in a Row?

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, once celebrated as the face of commercial masala cinema in Tollywood, is currently finding it difficult to sustain his mass appeal at the box office. After back-to-back successes with Dhamaka and Waltair Veerayya, his next set of films — Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle, and Mr. Bachchan — failed to click with audiences.
His latest outing, Mass Jathara, which promised to bring back the star’s trademark energy and vintage flair, is also heading towards a disappointing run. Despite releasing amid moderate expectations after multiple delays, the film received weak word of mouth right from Day 1 due to its conventional storyline and predictable narration lacking fresh appeal.
Apart from Ravi Teja’s energetic screen presence and a couple of impressive songs and action blocks, Mass Jathara offers little to engage the audience. The opening day numbers too were underwhelming, with India net collections estimated at around ₹7 crore, while overseas figures remained poor across major territories. The simultaneous release of Baahubali: The Epic also appears to have affected its performance to some extent.
If the current trend continues, this could turn out to be Ravi Teja’s fifth consecutive flop within just two years. Industry analysts feel the actor must reassess his script choices and avoid relying solely on outdated commercial templates aimed at a limited segment of viewers.
Looking ahead, Ravi Teja is set to return with a wholesome family entertainer for Sankranti, directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film, tentatively titled Bhakta Mahaseyalaku Vignapthi, is being seen as a crucial project for the star to score a strong comeback and regain momentum at the box office.
They Call Him OG Gets Edited for TV Premiere

Pawan Kalyan’s action drama They Call Him OG, which released on September 25 and grossed nearly ₹300 crore worldwide, stands as one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year. The film originally received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to its graphic violence and mature content, restricting viewers below the age of 18.
The same theatrical version has been streaming on Netflix since October 23 without any edits, as the platform does not require age-based censorship. However, ahead of its upcoming television premiere, the film has undergone re-censorship to obtain a U/A certificate suitable for family audiences.
Approximately 10 minutes of footage—primarily intense action and violent sequences—has been removed to make the film more suitable for home viewing environments. The theatrical runtime of 154 minutes and 15 seconds has now been reduced to 143 minutes and 52 seconds for the TV version.
Directed by Sujeeth, They Call Him OG features Pawan Kalyan in the lead, alongside Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Neha Shetty, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj. The film is produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainments, with music composed by Thaman S.
Baahubali: The Epic Re-Release Breaks Records

Even ten years after the Baahubali phenomenon began, SS Rajamouli’s filmmaking prowess continues to resonate strongly with audiences across the globe. The overwhelming response to Baahubali: The Epic — a remastered, condensed cut combining both installments of the iconic duology — stands as proof. Released on October 31, the special anniversary edition has witnessed a sensational reception in theatres everywhere.
Marking its tenth anniversary, Team Baahubali curated this unified, 220-minute feature to offer audiences a nostalgic, larger-than-life theatre experience. The idea worked remarkably well, with the re-release not just drawing crowds but also rewriting box office records. The premiere shows alone recorded robust collections across several regions.
According to trade estimates, Baahubali: The Epic grossed around ₹30 crore worldwide in just two days, an extraordinary achievement for a re-release. The franchise’s enduring craze is evident from the strong occupancy levels through the weekend, despite new Telugu releases sharing screens.
Industry analysts are now watching closely to see how far the film can go. There is growing buzz that it may become the highest-grossing re-release ever. However, whether it can breach the coveted ₹100-crore milestone remains uncertain. With new releases like The Girl Friend and Jatadhara arriving next week—both carrying positive expectations—the box office momentum for Baahubali: The Epic may slow down moving into its second weekend.
For now, the re-release stands as a celebration of a cinematic legacy that refuses to fade. Crossing ₹100 crore would be a historic feat for any re-release, but even if the numbers taper off, Baahubali: The Epic has already reaffirmed its timeless impact on Indian cinema.
