They Call Him OG Gets Edited for TV Premiere
Pawan Kalyan’s action drama They Call Him OG, which released on September 25 and grossed nearly ₹300 crore worldwide, stands as one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year. The film originally received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to its graphic violence and mature content, restricting viewers below the age of 18.
The same theatrical version has been streaming on Netflix since October 23 without any edits, as the platform does not require age-based censorship. However, ahead of its upcoming television premiere, the film has undergone re-censorship to obtain a U/A certificate suitable for family audiences.
Approximately 10 minutes of footage—primarily intense action and violent sequences—has been removed to make the film more suitable for home viewing environments. The theatrical runtime of 154 minutes and 15 seconds has now been reduced to 143 minutes and 52 seconds for the TV version.

Tamil actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan continues his winning streak with his latest release, Dude, which opened in theatres on October 17 during the Diwali season. The film received a strong response from audiences and went on to collect around ₹100 crore at the box office, marking Pradeep’s third consecutive film to achieve this milestone.
Even before its theatrical release, Dude was acquired by Netflix for a substantial price. The streaming platform has been following a shorter theatrical-to-OTT window, typically premiering new films four weeks after their release. Dude will follow suit, and is expected to start streaming on Netflix from Friday, November 14. An official confirmation is likely to be announced soon.
While this shortened gap benefits OTT audiences, a section of trade analysts believes it may impact the film’s long theatrical run and reduce the large-screen viewing experience.
