Pic Talk: Modi Lands, Mamata Not Interested!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited West Bengal on Friday to take a look at the damage incurred to the state because of Amphan cyclone. After reaching Kolkata, PM Modi conducted review meeting in Basirhat with CM Mamata Banerjee, Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and other state officials.

Before that Modi took a special flight from New Delhi and landed in Kolkata airport. West Bengal Governor and CM Mamata Banerjee were standing in line to welcome PM Modi. In the picture, we can see as PM Modi was getting down, Bengal CM Mamata was busy reading some paper. This is a kind of ignorance and she is not all interesting in seeing Modi.

The political rivalry of BJP and Mamata’s Trinamool Congress is known to everyone. Mamata criticized PM Modi’s lockdown and special package of Rs 20 Lakh crore. At the same time BJP is counting Mamata’s claims that she is creating hurdles for central schemes in the state.

Irrespective of political rivalry, PM Modi has announced Rs 1000 crore as immediate assistance for West Bengal to deal with the damages done by Amphan cyclone.

HC Hands Over Dr. Sudhakar’s Case To CBI

Share

Here’s the new twist in the suspended Vizag doctor Sudhakar’s case. In a sensational move, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh has handed over the controversial doctor’s case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court has made this decision after finding loopholes in the report submitted by the AP government regarding the case.

The High Court also directed the CBI to wrap up the investigation on the Andhra Police and submit the enquiry report within 8 weeks. The court carefully examined the reports submitted by the magistrates and the government respectively.

While the magistrate’s report mentioned injuries on Sudhakar’s body, the government’s report had no mention of the injuries. In a startling development, the court, after the 3-day hearing on the case, has stated that there’s a major conspiracy behind the government’s report.

The High Court’s latest statements gain prominence especially after the Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) recent comments. The IMA said that the Andhra government’s conduct in Doctor Sudhakar’s case is demoralising to the doctors community in the country, especially when the doctors are fighting the Coronavirus as the frontline warriors.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sudhakar’s mother told the media that they have been receiving calls from unidentified government officials who promised them to revoke Sudhakar’s suspension if he remained silent. “But if we step back now, it will be disrespectful to all those who have been a pillar of support to us for the last few days,” she said.

Mahesh Babu: It’s Cool To Be Masked

Share

The Corona virus pandemic is spreading in the country with each day passing. So far the cases count have crossed over a lakh and in this view, the government has made mask as mandatory for all the people while stepping out as it eased the lockdown. Yet the many are ignoring the government’s suggestion of wearing a mask.

Superstar Mahesh Babu has appealed to people to wear a mask which is an act of protecting ourselves from the deadly virus. Taking it to his Twitter handle, Mahesh shared a picture of him wearing a mask and added that it’s cool to be masked.

“We are opening up. Slowly, but surely. In a time like this, masks are mandatory. Make it a point to wear a mask every time you step out, that’s least we can do to protect ourselves and others. It may seem odd, but it is the need of the hour and we must get used to it. One step at a time! Let’s adapt to the new normal and get life back on track. It’s cool to be masked. I am. Are you?” tweeted Mahesh.

Hope the people will follow the advises of the celebrities at least in containing the virus and not spreading it further.

HC orders CBI probe in doctor’s manhandling by police

Share

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday ordered a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged manhandling of a government doctor by police in Visakhapatnam last week.

Taking serious note of the May 16 incident, the high court directed that a case be booked against the policemen involved. It asked the CBI to submit its report to the court in eight weeks.

The court delivered its judgment after taking into account the statement of doctor K. Sudhakar Rao.

The court had on Wednesday directed the Visakhapatnam sessions judge to personally visit the Government Hospital for Mental Health where Sudhakar Rao is admitted and record his statement.

The court passed the orders on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking probe into inhuman treatment of the doctor. Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader V. Anita had also written a letter to the court seeking a probe into the doctor’s manhandling, arrest and admission to a mental hospital. The court treated her letter as a petition.

Sudhakar Rao, civil assistant surgeon, Area Hospital, Narsipatnam, was suspended two months ago after he publicly criticised the government for failing to provide N95 masks to the doctors treating Covid-19 patients.

He was arrested by the police in Visakhapatnam on May 16 for allegedly creating nuisance on the road at Akkayapalem.

The policemen allegedly manhandled the doctor, who was seen shirtless to the waist, dragged him and bundled him into an autorickshaw. He was shifted to the King George Hospital, where doctors found him in an inebriated condition. He was subsequently referred to the Government Hospital for Mental Health, where he was under treatment for acute and transient psychosis.

The police booked the doctor under the Indian Penal Code sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 50).

Police said the doctor behaved rudely with a traffic head constable, snatched his mobile phone and threw it away. He allegedly behaved aggressively with an autorickshaw driver and others and caused a traffic jam.

Police claimed that as the doctor could have endangered his own life, he was taken into custody and since he was in an inebriated condition, he was shifted to the KGH for an alcohol test.

The video clips of police tying the doctor’s hands behind him, dragging and manhandling him triggered outrage with the opposition parties, doctors’ associations and Dalit groups condemning the police action.

Former Chief Minister and leader of opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the YSR Congress Party government treated the doctor with vengeance for criticising it over not supplying masks to the doctors.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has lodged a protest with the Andhra Pradesh government over the police inappropriately handling Sudhakar, an anesthetist.

“There were certainly civilised ways of handling the situation by a civilian government. That he was under suspension for allegedly raising safety issues in the hospital was all the more reason for sensitive handling of the issue,” the IMA headquarters said in a letter to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan started ‘Self-analysis’ ?

Share

An analysis is the main part of the administration. Getting detailed feedback and making sure that they are heading the right way is a necessary action to be done in any organization and so in politics. And for a person who is ruling the state, ‘self-analysis’ is self-explanation of his deeds and decisions so far and YS Jagan is currently in that phase.

It has been a year since Jagan captured power from CBN and he is reviewing each and every policy from all sectors such as Agriculture, Education, Health, Volunteer system, and the plans they have established for all departments. Without caring about the criticism from the opposition and applause from the own people, Jagan is willing to get a detailed analysis of his rule.

So, from 25th this month, Jagan has decided to conduct review meetings for five straight days. On Day 1 he will discuss the Agricultural growth in the state and the next day he will review all his actions on the educational department. On Day 3 Health Department will be put under discussion followed by the Volunteer system the next day.

Especially on Day2, Jagan will be involved in the crucial meeting where the review meeting of the ‘Nava Ranalu’ scheme, which has been successfully implemented by the YSRCP government so far, takes place.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das on Friday corroborated that the moratorium on loans payment is extended till August. The move is expected to give the much-needed relief to the borrowers.

Mahesh babu to embrace the same sentiment for his upcoming flick!

Share

Few actors from Tollywood have consistently been following certain sentiments in beginning their films. Irrespective of hit or flop, they are fond of following the sentiment and in this regard Superstar Mahesh Babu is no exception.

It’s a well known fact that Mahesh Babu agreed to make a film in Parasuram’s direction soon. Even though Vamsi paidipally thought to take up, the film accidentally stalled due to unknown reasons.

Currently he is prepping up to undertake the movie helmed by Parasuram. In fact, the film is postponed due to Corona even though it is scheduled to celebrate its opening on March 25th. The film will finally be officially launched on May 31st.

As such, Mahesh’s better half Namrata Shirodkar is likely to attend the pooja with their children. As expected, Mahesh babu will not show up in the opening ceremony. Because he doesn’t come to the opening of his film.. That’s a sentiment! Each time his wife and children come alone to grace the event.

Mahesh firmly believes that his presence might deliver a flop to his own film. Although little weird, he got accustomed to such act.

For the past few years, Mahesh has been updating his film on May 31st, as this special day is the birthday of his father superstar Krishna.

He is no mood to take any risk this time too for his new movie Pooja and is going to kick start the opening of his upcoming flick on that day.

Some films have unfortunately bombed at the box office even without superstar’s presence. Nevertheless, he does not care and looks to adhere to the same sentiment regardless of a flop or hit.

SSMB 27 will be jointly bankrolled by Mythri movie makers and MB entertainment private limited. Tge film opening is likely to happen either in Mythri Movie Makers or in MB movies office.
