Benz: LCU Prequel to Leo Explores Leo Das’s Dark Past

The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) is all set to expand once again — this time with Benz, a riveting prequel to Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Leo. The film, starring Raghava Lawrence and Nivin Pauly, has already become the center of buzz for exploring Leo Das’s dark and untold past.
Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, Benz dives deep into the events that shaped Leo’s transformation, with Madonna Sebastian reprising her role as Elisa Das, seamlessly connecting it to the Leo timeline.
The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Samyuktha Menon, Priyanka Mohan, and Narain — the latter renowned for his roles in Kaithi and Vikram. Adding to the intrigue, Nivin Pauly takes a bold leap as the menacing antagonist Walter, marking a striking shift from his usual on-screen persona.
Although Lokesh Kanagaraj isn’t directing this chapter, he’s overseeing the story and screenplay, ensuring Benz stays true to the signature LCU tone, style, and interconnected storytelling. This makes Benz the first LCU film not directed by Lokesh, yet one that firmly expands his cinematic universe.
Filming for Benz began in May 2025, with the first schedule wrapped by June. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, and the post-theatrical rights have been acquired by Netflix for a record price, highlighting the massive anticipation around the project.
Touted as an action-packed emotional thriller, Benz is set to enrich the LCU mythology, introducing new layers, characters, and story arcs that could shape the universe’s future. With Lokesh’s creative supervision, a stellar cast, and a story that bridges the emotional depth of Leo with the grit of Kaithi and Vikram, Benz is gearing up to redefine the legacy of the LCU.
Pawan Kalyan Reviews Post-Cyclone Relief, Launches Super Sanitation Drive

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan held a detailed video conference with senior officials from the Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply departments to assess post-cyclone recovery measures across Andhra Pradesh. Speaking from the Mangalagiri camp office, Pawan commended the administration for effectively managing the Montha cyclone, but cautioned that the coming days are critical for ensuring sanitation, clean drinking water, and restoring damaged infrastructure.
He directed officials to immediately implement “Super Chlorination” and “Super Sanitation” drives in all cyclone-affected villages. Pawan also ordered the formation of mobile sanitation teams and instructed that all 21,000 sanitation workers be deployed on an emergency basis to prevent health hazards and mosquito-borne diseases.
Officials briefed him that 1,583 villages were severely affected, with 38 roads heavily damaged and 125 others partially impacted. Pawan stressed that restoring connectivity and ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply must be top priorities, with alternative arrangements made wherever necessary.
He further instructed the health and rural development teams to work in close coordination to curb potential disease outbreaks and speed up the return to normalcy. Underscoring the need for accountability and inter-departmental communication, Pawan made it clear that delays would not be tolerated.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials, including Shashi Bhushan Kumar (Special Chief Secretary, Panchayat Raj) and Commissioner Krishna Teja, who presented updates on damage assessment and ongoing recovery operations.
Naidu’s Proactive Cyclone Response Draws Contrast with Jagan’s 2019 Controversy

Andhra Pradesh has largely managed to escape the wrath of the Montha cyclone with minimal loss of life, though several districts did experience significant property damage. Thanks to swift and proactive measures led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the administration was able to contain the crisis and ensure quick relief operations.
Amidst this, TDP supporters have taken to social media to highlight the sharp contrast between Naidu’s leadership and that of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during a similar crisis in 2019.
Back then, as Cyclone Fani struck Andhra Pradesh, Jagan was spotted visiting AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad to watch Avengers. The images and videos of him casually walking into the theatre while the state faced widespread destruction drew heavy criticism.
Now, as Montha cyclone challenges the state once again, Chandrababu Naidu and his team are seen actively monitoring the situation on the ground, coordinating relief measures, and ensuring timely assistance to affected areas.
This stark difference in response has become a major talking point online, with many appreciating Naidu’s hands-on governance while recalling Jagan’s earlier indifference during a time of crisis.
Cyclone Disrupts Box Office Plans for Baahubali Re-release and Mass Jathara

This week has turned out to be an unusually tense one for the film industry. While movie teams are pushing full throttle with promotions, nature seems to have other plans — a massive cyclone is closing in, leaving both major releases on shaky ground.
The much-hyped re-release of Baahubali: The Epic — a combined cut of Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2 — hit theatres today. Opening day bookings were decent, but advance sales for the weekend have been surprisingly underwhelming. With this being a re-release, the upcoming weekend’s performance is critical — and that’s exactly when the cyclone is expected to make landfall.
Meanwhile, the other big release, Mass Jathara, is battling its own storm. The team had lined up Thursday premieres and a full-scale Friday release, but the initial response has been lukewarm. Advance bookings for Saturday are even weaker, with minimal buzz across several territories.
To make matters worse, the Montha cyclone has already battered several parts of Andhra Pradesh and is now beginning to affect Telangana. With heavy rains and strong winds predicted through the day, theatre footfalls are expected to dip even further.
With weather disrupting plans and audience sentiment low, both films face a tough weekend ahead — one fighting nature’s fury, and the other struggling to find momentum.

Wamiqa Gabbi Joins Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Acting Debut

Actress Wamiqa Gabbi continues to make waves across multiple film industries, standing out as one of the few Bollywood divas with a pan-Indian presence. Having worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Hindi films, Wamiqa has built a diverse portfolio and a strong fanbase beyond Bollywood. Known for her striking glamour and expressive charm, her photos frequently go viral, cementing her popularity, especially in South India.
Lately, Wamiqa has been maintaining an impressive balance between Bollywood and regional cinema. She will next be seen alongside Adivi Sesh in the highly anticipated spy thriller G2, which has already created positive buzz in Tollywood. Apart from this, she has several Tamil films lined up and a string of projects in Hindi and Punjabi, making her one of the busiest actresses in the current circuit.
The latest update adds another exciting project to her list — Wamiqa has reportedly been roped in as the female lead opposite Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is making his acting debut under the direction of Arun Matheswaran. The makers finalized Wamiqa after considering several actresses for this intense action drama, which recently went on floors. Earlier, Coolie fame Rachitha Ram was speculated to be part of the project, but Wamiqa has now officially come on board.
With major projects like G2 and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut film, Wamiqa Gabbi is strategically expanding her footprint in South Indian cinema. If these upcoming releases strike the right chord, they could significantly boost her career, solidifying her status as a truly pan-Indian actress. With nearly eight films currently in hand, she’s set for an exceptionally packed and promising phase ahead.
Rajamouli’s Shift from Tollywood to Hollywood Media

S.S. Rajamouli — the pride of Indian cinema — has not only evolved as a filmmaker but also in the way he engages with the media. His journey from being a Telugu industry favorite to a global filmmaking icon reflects a fascinating shift in how he connects with journalists and audiences.
In his early years, right up until Baahubali: The Beginning, Rajamouli maintained a warm and close relationship with the Telugu media. His team would personally reach out to local journalists for interviews, press meets, special screenings, and Q&A sessions. There was a strong sense of familiarity and mutual respect — he was one of their own.
But the monumental success of Baahubali: The Beginning changed everything. As Rajamouli’s fame skyrocketed across India, he gradually moved closer to Bollywood media circles, giving exclusive interviews and special access to national outlets. The once-local filmmaker had become a pan-Indian brand, and naturally, his media focus expanded beyond regional borders.
Then came RRR, which pushed Rajamouli onto the global stage. During the film’s Oscar campaign, he immersed himself in Hollywood’s publicity ecosystem — understanding the strategy behind award campaigns, exclusive screenings, and targeted media interactions.
Now, Rajamouli appears to be channeling all that experience into his upcoming ventures, reportedly prioritizing Hollywood journalists for special previews and coverage. From Telugu to Bollywood to Hollywood — his media evolution mirrors his filmmaking journey: ever-ambitious, constantly growing, and unafraid to go global.
Cyclone Montha Spoils Allu Sirish’s Engagement Plans

Allu Sirish’s much-awaited engagement with Nainika, which was scheduled for the 31st of this month, has hit an unexpected roadblock — thanks to Cyclone Montha. The actor had planned a beautiful outdoor celebration at his residence, complete with elegant décor and a cozy winter vibe. But continuous rainfall has washed away those plans.
Taking to Instagram, Sirish shared glimpses of how the rain had completely spoiled the decorations, expressing his disappointment at how the weather turned against their perfect setup. “Planned for an outdoor winter engagement but Weather God has other plans,” he wrote, adding a touch of humour to the situation.
With the downpour showing no signs of stopping, the actor has now decided to shift the event indoors. While Sirish has been careful not to reveal Nainika’s face so far, fans got a sneak peek of her recently when Sneha Reddy Allu unintentionally shared family pictures from their Diwali celebrations — featuring Nainika alongside the Allu family.
Despite the weather hiccup, fans are eagerly waiting for the big day and can’t wait to officially welcome Nainika into the Allu family.
