In the film industry, a heroine’s career typically lasts about 10 to 15 years — and that too only if she constantly reinvents herself to match audience expectations. If her films flop or she fails to impress the audience, the offers dry up quickly. Many actresses, unable to sustain the momentum, fade out within a short span.

Earlier, heroines would usually retire from films by the age of 30, get married, and say goodbye to the industry. But times have changed. Today’s generation of actresses continues to receive opportunities even after crossing 40. In fact, filmmakers are now writing meaningful roles even for actresses in their 50s — something that was once unimaginable.
Speaking recently in an interview about age, career, and marriage, actress Tamannaah Bhatia shared her perspective:

“Earlier, people believed that a heroine’s career ended by the age of 30. But now, experience and maturity bring even better roles. When I entered the industry, I thought I’d marry and have kids before 30. But by that age, I had just begun to understand my life and career. Today, even actresses above 35 are getting great opportunities, and that’s a beautiful change. Aging isn’t a disease — it’s a reflection of experience and wisdom.”

At 35, Tamannaah continues to thrive in the industry. While she may not appear as often in lead roles, she remains highly active with special songs and impactful performances. She’s currently busy working on multiple projects, including ‘Oh Romeo’, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, where she stars opposite Shahid Kapoor. The film is expected to release either later this year or early next year. Additionally, she’s also part of a mythological thriller titled ‘Force of the Forest’.

Despite the evolving industry and changing standards, Tamannaah stands as a shining example that talent and determination can outlast any age barrier.
