Harish Shankar Explains Ramayya Vastavayya Flop

Share

Tollywood mass director Harish Shankar recently analyzed why his film Ramayya Vastavayya, starring Young Tiger NTR, failed to meet box office expectations despite high anticipation following his industry hit Gabbar Singh. In a candid interview, Harish Shankar acknowledged the movie’s shortcomings and shared his insights on what went wrong.

According to him, the primary reason for the film’s flop was a “wrong mindset” created among the audience. Typically, mass entertainers build suspense around the villain, keeping viewers engaged until the climax. However, in Ramayya Vastavayya, the villain’s role was concluded early in the first half, leaving audiences feeling the story ended prematurely. This misjudgment in audience perception directly impacted box office performance.

Harish Shankar also pointed to screenplay issues as a critical factor. By ending the villain’s arc early, the remaining story lacked tension, and viewers were left wondering what would happen next. He admitted this was a clear flaw in his screenplay. The absence of a strong secondary antagonist also reduced the scope for the hero’s elevating moments. Regarding characterization, he explained that a villain’s strength defines the impact of the hero’s actions. Though the villain was well-designed in concept, the execution didn’t match, which prevented the film from fully impressing mass audiences.

The director emphasized that predicting a hit or flop is only possible post-release. While filmmakers can put in their best efforts, the final outcome ultimately depends on audience response. In conclusion, Harish Shankar stated that despite having a star like NTR, misjudging audience mindset and their expectations led to the film’s failure. He is, however, confident about his upcoming project Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan, which is set to release in theaters on March 19 and is expected to perform well.

Trump Knew About Israel’s Strike on Iran Gas Field

Share

US President Donald Trump was aware of Israel’s plans to strike Iran’s South Pars natural gas field, although the US did not participate in the attack. This contradicts Trump’s public statements claiming that the US had no knowledge of the strikes. According to an Associated Press report citing an insider, the US was informed about the planned attack, but it is unclear whether the Trump administration approved Israel’s decision.

The strike marked a major escalation in the Iran conflict, causing a spike in global oil and gas prices. Trump has since asked Iran not to retaliate and warned that any Iranian response would provoke a forceful US reaction. He described Israel’s attack as being “out of anger” and affecting only a relatively small section of the gas field. Trump emphasized that Qatar had no involvement or prior knowledge of the incident, even though part of Qatar’s LNG facility was damaged in the aftermath.

Trump warned that if Iran retaliates, the US would respond with overwhelming force, potentially targeting the entire South Pars Gas Field with unprecedented strength. Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility for the attack. The South Pars/North Dome gas field spans Iranian and Qatari waters, making it one of the world’s largest natural gas reserves.

This incident has further heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and raised concerns over global energy security.

Shankar Sharma Warns of Oil and Nuclear Risks Amid Iran Conflict

Share

Ace investor Shankar Sharma has raised concerns over the unfolding Iran conflict, warning of two potential “nightmare scenarios” that could destabilize global energy markets and geopolitics. He fears the weaponization of oil could follow tactics previously used with the SWIFT system and tariffs, giving the United States unprecedented leverage over global energy. Sharma suggested that the first scenario involves Israel potentially launching nuclear strikes, allegedly with US approval, highlighting his view that the US has created a “Frankenstein” it cannot fully control. The second scenario involves oil coming under US dominance, enabling the country to use energy as a constant strategic threat, particularly over nations like India that lack the influence of China.

The concerns come after Israel’s attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field, which Trump described as a “violent lash out.” The assault caused oil prices to spike and prompted Iran to retaliate with missile strikes on Qatar and Saudi Arabia, targeting key energy infrastructure. QatarEnergy reported significant damage to the Ras Laffan Industrial City, a facility that processes about 20% of the world’s gas supply. Subsequent Iranian attacks further hit Qatar’s liquefied natural gas facilities and targeted Saudi Arabia, worsening disruptions to global energy supplies and escalating regional tensions.

Trump clarified that the United States did not have prior knowledge of Israel’s attack, and Qatar was not involved. He warned that Israel would refrain from further attacks on the South Pars field unless Iran targeted Qatar again, in which case the US would respond with overwhelming force. Sharma’s warnings underline the global economic and political risks of energy being used as a geopolitical weapon amid rising Middle East tensions.

Xiaomi Launches Hunter Alpha, a 1-Trillion-Parameter AI Model

Share

On March 11, 2026, two new artificial intelligence models, Hunter Alpha and Healer Alpha, unexpectedly appeared on OpenRouter, a developer platform that routes queries to multiple AI systems. The listing was unusual because there was no official announcement or developer attribution, and the models were labeled as “stealth models.” One of the chatbots stated, “I only know my name, my parameter scale, and my context window length.”

Initial reports by Reuters linked Hunter Alpha to an upcoming release from Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, as speculation around DeepSeek V4 had been building. Media suggested that Hunter Alpha shared the same specifications as DeepSeek V4, expected in April, but it was later clarified that the model is not from DeepSeek.

Luo Fuli, head of Xiaomi’s AI division MiMo and a former DeepSeek researcher, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that Hunter Alpha is an early internal test build of MiMo-V2-Pro. She described the release as a “quiet ambush,” explaining that the shift from chat-based AI to agent-based systems happened so quickly that even Xiaomi barely anticipated it. The stealth release was designed to gather unbiased feedback from users before the official announcement.

Hunter Alpha functions as the “brain” of an AI agent, enabling tools to perform complex tasks with minimal human intervention. It is a 1-trillion-parameter model with a context window of up to 1 million tokens, capable of processing and remembering massive amounts of text or documents in a single conversation.

Xiaomi plans to partner with five major agent frameworks, including OpenClaw, to provide free access to developers worldwide for a week. The company also intends to open-source the model once it reaches sufficient stability. Following the announcement, Xiaomi’s Hong Kong-listed shares surged by 5.8% on March 19, signaling the company’s growing pivot from smartphones and EVs to AI innovation, with Hunter Alpha leading the charge.

Trump Administration Expands $15,000 Visa Bond Rule

Share

The Donald Trump administration is further tightening U.S. immigration controls with a controversial new visa rule affecting travellers from 50 countries. Starting April 2, 2026, citizens seeking B-1 (business) or B-2 (tourism) visas from these countries will be required to post a refundable bond of up to $15,000 as part of their application. Applicants from eligible nations must pay this bond as a financial guarantee that they will comply with U.S. visa terms and not overstay their authorized stay. The amount may be determined by a consular officer during the interview. The bond is refundable if the applicant adheres to visa conditions and departs the U.S. on time, or if the visa is denied. Officials have indicated that the rule has helped reduce visa overstays.

Twelve new countries have now been added to the list, bringing the total to 50. The recently included nations are Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Grenada, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, and Tunisia. These join the existing 38 countries already covered under the programme, which include Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Cuba, Venezuela, Uganda, Tanzania, and others. India is not on the list of affected countries.

This visa bond requirement is part of a wider suite of immigration measures introduced since Trump returned to office, aimed at curbing illegal immigration and encouraging compliance. Other steps have included stepped-up deportations, tightened vetting of applicants’ social media and backgrounds, revocations of visas and green cards, and a separate travel ban on citizens of 19 countries on national security grounds.

Human rights groups have sharply criticised the policy, saying such high bond requirements undermine due process and could discriminate against travellers from lower-income countries. Critics argue the rule may make legitimate travel prohibitively expensive for many. The Trump administration and its supporters, however, insist the measures are necessary to strengthen national security and ensure visa compliance. While intended to deter visa overstays and enhance immigration control, the expanded visa bond rule has sparked debate and could significantly impact travel from the 50 covered countries.

Vijay’s Political Journey Hits a Crucial Turning Point

Share

Vijay’s political journey in Tamil Nadu is currently drawing mixed reactions, with analysts pointing to a noticeable shift in momentum. Several factors—including speculation about a possible alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party, evolving political statements, and discussions around his personal life—are contributing to growing uncertainty around his political trajectory.

In the early stages, Vijay maintained a firm stand, clearly stating that his party would not align with any political force. He positioned Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as a political rival and the BJP as an ideological opponent. However, recent developments suggest a more cautious and defensive approach, leading to speculation about a possible change in strategy.

Rumours are now circulating that Vijay could consider working closer with the BJP, potentially in exchange for electoral advantages. While these remain unconfirmed, they have sparked debates about consistency in his political messaging.

At present, Vijay’s strongest asset is his massive youth following and loyal fan base built through cinema. While this support is significant, the key challenge lies in converting fan enthusiasm into actual electoral success—something that has historically proven uncertain for many actors entering politics.

Additionally, ongoing discussions about his personal life, including divorce rumours, have also impacted public perception to some extent. Observers feel that addressing such issues earlier might have helped avoid speculation-driven narratives.

Some analysts are drawing parallels with Pawan Kalyan’s political journey, suggesting that managing both personal and political narratives carefully will be crucial for Vijay moving forward.

Another notable shift is in his policy tone. Earlier, Vijay positioned himself against freebie-based politics, promising systemic change. However, as elections approach, there are indications that even he might adopt similar strategies, which has led to some disappointment among certain sections of intellectual voters.

Furthermore, any potential alignment with the BJP could be a double-edged sword. While it may offer strategic advantages, it could also risk alienating sections of minority and Dalit voters, especially given the BJP’s limited acceptance in Tamil Nadu.

Overall, Vijay stands at a crucial turning point in his political journey. The decisions he makes now—both in terms of alliances and messaging—will play a key role in shaping his future in Tamil Nadu politics.

Mrunal Thakur’s Rejection Story Turns Into a Full-Circle Success Tale

Share

Mrunal Thakur, who won hearts as “Seetha” in Sita Ramam, has become one of the most sought-after actresses in South India, thanks to her natural performances and classic screen presence.

Now, an interesting incident from the early phase of her career is going viral on social media. During her initial struggle to transition from television to films, Mrunal reportedly approached a top director personally, requesting an opportunity with a humble “one chance, please.” However, she was turned down at that time.

The director in question was none other than Aditya Dhar, who later gained massive recognition with Uri: The Surgical Strike. Back then, he was conducting auditions for the film, and Mrunal had approached him hoping to land a role.

Despite recognizing her talent, Aditya Dhar couldn’t offer her the part—either because the role was already finalized or because she didn’t fit the character’s requirements. It was a missed opportunity that could have changed her career path entirely.

Interestingly, fans now believe that this rejection turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Had she been cast in Uri, she might have stayed focused on Bollywood. Instead, her journey led her to Tollywood, where she achieved massive fame with Sita Ramam and became a “Seethamma” in the hearts of audiences.

What stands out is Mrunal’s honesty about her struggles. Unlike many actors who avoid discussing past rejections during their peak, she has openly spoken about her journey and the challenges she faced. She even stated that approaching a visionary director like Aditya Dhar was never something she regretted, and that every rejection only made her stronger.

Today, the same industry that once turned her away is now eagerly waiting for her dates. With her growing popularity, there’s also a strong possibility that she might collaborate with Aditya Dhar in the future. If that happens, it would be a full-circle moment—where the actress who once asked for “one chance” walks onto his set as a leading star.
