Mirai Trailer Impresses: Teja Sajja Shines

Teja Sajja is proving that he is far from a one-film wonder, and the pan-India success of Hanu-Man was no mere stroke of luck. Any lingering doubts were quickly dispelled with the release of the theatrical trailer for Mirai yesterday.
Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, Mirai is a fantasy epic rooted in Indian mythology and human emotion, offering a cinematic experience that is both grandiose and spiritually resonant. Teja Sajja commands the screen with every stunt and action sequence, reflecting the intense preparation behind his performance.
The trailer has created a buzz not just in Tollywood but across the nation, particularly for the impressive visuals achieved on a moderate budget. Industry insiders suggest that Mirai sets a benchmark for how world-class CGI and production quality can be achieved without overspending.
Special credit goes to producers TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad of People Media Factory, whose meticulous planning and investment are evident in the film’s production and technical finesse. Unlike recent pan-India releases that faced criticism for subpar CGI despite large budgets, Mirai has impressed audiences with its stunning visuals, a testament to the dedication and expertise of the entire team.
With its grand release scheduled for September 12th, Mirai promises to be an unforgettable spectacle, raising expectations sky-high and establishing itself as a true cinematic entertainer.
Akhanda 2 Release Delayed Over OTT Deal

The highly anticipated sequel, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, has now been officially postponed. Initially, the makers cited extended post-production work—particularly on visual effects and the background score—as the reason for the delay. However, a key factor influencing the decision is the ongoing OTT deal.
The first installment of Akhanda was a massive theatrical hit and later performed exceptionally well on Disney+ Hotstar. Building on that success, the team entered talks with JioCinema following its acquisition of Hotstar. However, reports suggest the platform was reluctant to pay the high price tags associated with Telugu big-ticket films.
Meanwhile, global streaming giants like Netflix and Prime Video have adopted a cautious stance after previous overspending, making them hesitant to invest heavily in regional blockbusters. With no attractive OTT agreement secured yet, the makers have decided to hold back the release until a deal that meets expectations is finalized.
This marks the fourth collaboration between superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu. Given the lavish spending on the film amid high audience hype, recovering the investment is a priority, making a lucrative OTT arrangement essential for the project’s financial success.
US Plans Fixed Stay Limits for F Visa Students

In a major policy shift, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has proposed new regulations limiting the stay period for international students and exchange visitors on F visas. The proposal, set for formal publication on Thursday, would replace the long-standing “duration of status” policy—introduced in 1978—with fixed visa terms capped at four years.
Currently, F visa holders may remain in the United States as long as they maintain full-time enrollment in an approved academic program. DHS officials argue that the change is necessary to prevent indefinite stays under student status, enhance national security, and reduce administrative burdens.
The move comes at a time when the US hosts approximately 1.6 million foreign students and 355,000 exchange visitors. Education experts warn that stricter visa limits could deter prospective applicants, redirect talent to competing countries, and negatively impact the US economy.
According to a joint NAFSA–JB International study, a 30–40% decline in foreign student enrollment this fall could result in $7 billion in lost revenue and over 60,000 fewer jobs. NAFSA data shows that international students generated $46.13 billion and supported nearly 400,000 jobs in the 2024–25 academic year. However, a 15% drop in admissions would shrink revenue to $39.21 billion and reduce job creation to approximately 338,000.
Education advocates are urging policymakers to balance immigration oversight with America’s need to attract global talent, warning that overly restrictive rules may undermine the country’s competitiveness in higher education.
Janhvi & Sidharth Seek Blessings at Lalbaugcha Raja Ahead of Param Sundari

Actors Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra made a special visit to Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja on August 28, the second day of Ganeshotsav, seeking blessings ahead of their upcoming film Param Sundari.
Despite stringent security arrangements, the star duo was greeted by a huge crowd of devotees, making their entry into the pandal quite challenging. Several videos circulating online captured the chaos, showing the actors navigating through the throngs of people. Janhvi appeared slightly overwhelmed by the crowd, while Sidharth was escorted carefully by security personnel.
Director Tushar Jalota accompanied Janhvi and Sidharth during the visit. After offering their prayers, the trio exited the venue safely. The visit highlighted the ongoing challenge of crowd management at Lalbaugcha Raja, which sees lakhs of devotees during Ganeshotsav.
Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, is a cross-cultural love story. Sidharth plays Param, a cheerful North Indian, while Janhvi portrays Sundari, a South Indian beauty. The film, set for release on August 29, has already generated excitement with its trailer and songs.
SRK-Deepika Legal Controversy Over Hyundai Endorsement

Even Bollywood superstars are not immune to unexpected controversies, and Shah Rukh Khan along with Deepika Padukone have recently found themselves in the spotlight for a legal matter. The celebrated duo, famous for films like Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan, are generally in the news for their cinematic work or endorsements, but this time, the issue is quite different.
The controversy arose when Kirti Singh, a lawyer from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, purchased a Hyundai Alcazar in 2022 for Rs 23.97 lakh. He claimed that the advertisements featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone influenced his decision. However, soon after, the vehicle experienced multiple problems, including vibrations, poor acceleration, warning alerts, and unusual noises. Despite repeated complaints to both the dealership and Hyundai, the issues remained unresolved.
Singh subsequently filed a complaint against Hyundai, the dealership, and the actors, citing cheating, breach of trust, and conspiracy. Following this, the Bharatpur court directed the police to register an FIR, naming Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and six Hyundai officials. Investigations are currently underway to examine the allegations and gather necessary records.
The news has taken fans and the industry by surprise. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for The King, which also features his daughter Suhana Khan, while Deepika Padukone, after Singham Again, will star alongside Allu Arjun in the sci-fi action project AA22xA6 directed by Atlee. Despite the legal proceedings, both stars remain focused on their work, showing that even celebrities must navigate challenges beyond the silver screen.
