We have half a dozen of big producers who actually make films with our leading star heroes. One wonders if all these producers are successful because of those big movies or they are just sustaining with those projects. Here’s an interesting take on that.

Insiders say that all the big producers are making big movies only for the sake of ‘fame’ but nothing else. As we could read the trade reports, almost all the big films are loss ventures these days for the kind of money involved in making them, and the revenues they are getting back from the sales. Only some small scale films are actually giving 5-10 crore profits, but big films are incurring a loss of 5-10 crores.

These days, every film is almost touching a production cost of 70-80 crores. On top of that, heroes are taking a share in the profits, thereby pushing the envelope to 100-120 crores of recovery from the sales. And if the box office is forgiving, then some films are getting somewhere around 80-95 crores. By shelling out digital rights and other rights, the makers get to recover a total of 120 crores. But then, if they remove all the expenses, the profit is hardly 5-10 crores only.

When a 20 crore budgeted film also could give that 5 crores profit, why to make a 100 crore film to get similar gains? The answer is simple. Producers will get fame with big films as they will have big directors and big heroes. And they will get money from other ventures. It’s high time that heroes should recheck on their remunerations which saves producers and the film industry.

The most-looked-forward reunion of our favourite senior South stars have finally happened and Class of the 80s’, which is an annual event, had Megastar Chiranjeevi as a host, while stars reminisced some of the profound things from their lives.

The fun-filled reunion had a special theme and good food besides taking group photos and much-awaited candid shots. Marking as the 10th anniversary and among many viral pictures comes one picture that stole our attention and that is, Chiru and Malayali Superstar Mohanlal’s lovely portrait.

The picture was taken at Chiranjeevi’s residence in Hyderabad and while Chiru was sitting on a chair, Mohanlal is seen holding megastar affectionately from behind. The friendship speaks a lot in this picture. Known for their long-time bonding, the stars truly stood as an epitome of authentic friendship and rest assure, they are there!

The portrait also had the Megastar and superstar looking right through the lens while aptly capturing emotions and expressions through their eyes. Many such visual treats can be witnessed at the fun-gathering and stars like Radikaa Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Suhasini, Bhanu Chander and Sarath Kumar have vigorously taken part in dance and fun skits.

One one side producers like Suresh Babu are crying foul that the arrival of films on Amazon Prime Video has cut short the numbers of audiences coming to theatres. But then, big producers want to sell their films to Prime because they offer huge chunks of money. And very soon, this comfort zone might go away.

Apparently top Telugu producers are now worried as Amazon Prime is said to have started to give a second thought about paying high prices for the rights of Telugu movies. These happened due to the poor performance of Saaho on Amazon Prime as the film’s south versions are hardly watched by any audiences.

Joining Saaho is Sye Raa, whose arrival on Prime hasn’t created any buzz as most of the Telugu audiences have almost watched it, while other language audiences neither had excitement nor need to watch it after critics ripped it apart. Still, they are waiting to see how Sye Raa will perform for the next couple of weekends.

If Sye Raa also joins Saaho as an underperformer, then Amazon Prime will be paying quite less money or introduce the pay per view model to Tollywood. Well, our guys squeezed the most of golden goose already, so the time has come!

These days, many big films are avoiding pre-release events in the heart of Hyderabad city as police were denying the permissions for such events citing security concerns, especially when big stars are arriving.

Recently we have seen how the makers of “George Reddy” were denied permission for their pre-release event as Pawan Kalyan was supposed to attend it. The makers wanted to do a huge event at People’s Plaza in Necklace Road to get maximum attention for the film.

And now, it was announced that Megastar Chiranjeevi will be gracing the pre-release event of Nikhil’s Arjun Suravaram movie, which is going to be released late November. On this disclosure, many doubt if the police would really allow them to do a pre-release event at People’s Plaza with Chiru as the chief guest.

Maybe the makers should keep an alternate venue in mind, just in case if Hyderabad police deny them permission in the last minute.

Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ attained a whole lot of buzz with the super success of the three songs from the audio album.

‘Samajavaragamana’, which was released a while back has become a sensational hit. The lyrical video of this melodious song has received over 1 million likes on YouTube and it is the first Telugu song ever to achieve this feat.

‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ is gearing up for its worldwide release on January 12th. Trivikram is directing this family entertainer. Geetha Arts and Haarika & Hassine creations are jointly producing the film.

With mega brother Nagababu clearing the air that he is out of Jabardasth, everything got clarified. And from this Sunday, he is going to be seen in a couple of Zee Telugu shows including ‘Local Gangs’ and ‘Sar Sarle Ennenno Anukuntaam’. But that doesn’t end the crisis created in adult comedy show Jabardasth.

Apparently Nagababu is said to be trying to take out few contestants of Jabardasth with him. While the likes of Anasuya, Pradeep, Ravi and Tejaswi Madivada are on the show ‘Local Gangs’ already, it is heard that the mega brother is trying to get Jabardasth contestants for the same.

Already the likes of Chammak Chandra and RP have got into the fold, but others like Sudheer and Abhi, who have actually got a lift from Nagababu, are not ready to join hands with the mega brother.

It is being heard that actress and MLA Roja, who is the other judge of Jabardasth, is wresting control on them. She is said to have advised them to not jump the boat as Jabardasth gave them life and money.

Convinced by her speeches, these contestants have decided to stay with Mallemala and ETV they say. And the ones like Hyper Aadhi are said to be facing legal tussles to move out of the show.

Married actress Shriya Saran is looking forward for offers in Telugu film industry but they are not just showering on her, as she has earlier given up few good ones at the time of getting married. And she’s not ready to explore those glamorous offers now though she rages heat on Instagram with her spicy pictures.

Though Shriya’s name was heard in association with some upcoming films like Megastar’s #Chiru152 and Venky’s Asuran, finally she hasn’t gotten any of them. Reports are coming that when approached by director VV Vinayak if she’s ready to romance him in his acting debut, the actress is said to have exclaimed an immediate yes.

Vinayak is making his debut as a leading actor with upcoming film “Seenayya” that has Dil Raju producing it. As they are looking forward to the right balance of all the casting, now Shriya is approached for the leading lady’s role. But then, the actress will be aboard only when the remuneration part is finalized.

Some might say that Shriya has fallen from the position of getting paired with star heroines to Vinayak now, but she’s the one who got paired with the likes of Vadivelu when her career is on top gear.
