Ooriki Monagadu Flavour In Mahesh’s Sarileru Neekevvaru

Every film of Superstars these days is borrowing its inspiration either from French movies or from the movies done by their elders years ago. And some news is coming out that even Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru has a similar flavour of a yesteryear blockbuster that made his dad a superstar.

‘Ooriki Monagadu’ was a blockbuster film that released in 1981 and was remade in Bollywood as Himmatwala. The film features hero Krishna in the role of a guy who seeks revenge for the insult done to his father at the hands of a village’s most powerful guy. They say that the core plot of this movie is borrowed for Sarileru Neekevvaru by director Anil Ravipudi.

Going by the teaser that released other day, it looks like Mahesh Babu comes from nowhere to help out Vijayashanti and her babai (seems to be Rajendra Prasad) in their fight with some gangsters. Then we have her saying the dialogue maybe he got pained in the past that he understood their plight well, which indicates that he has a past regarding this fight.

All these snippets from the teaser are only strengthening the talk that Sarileru Neekevvaru is based on Ooriki Monagdu.

AMB Cinemas, New Adda For Premieres?

One of the most popular cinema theatres in Hyderabad is Prasad’s IMAX, which happens to be a collaboration between Prasads Group and AP Government (now TS government). Back then, premieres of movies used to happen here at this prestigious theatre, but slowly scene shifted to Cinemax (now PVR) in Banjara Hills. But both these destinations are no more hot favourites.

Film people have opted for Cinemax citing that reaching Prasads is a nightmare due to the staggering traffic that comes to a grinding halt most of the time on the flyover that reaches Necklace road from Khairatabad signal. Due to this, they shifted to Cinemax though it is a bit expensive. But then came AMB Cinemas, a partnership theatre owned by Asian Group and Mahesh Babu, which looks like a dazzling palace when it comes to its swanky interiors.

Whether NTR biopic premiere shows, Saaho fans show with Prabhas or the recently concluded George Reddy premiere, AMB Cinemas became the popular choice of producers to host premiere shows. Though the expenses are on a higher side, producers feel that a ‘premiere’ gets a new meaning when screened at a posh looking theatre like AMB Cinemas.

Of course, they are true in that aspect and that’s why AMB became new landmark though the traffic menace is a big let down to reach this theatre during peak hours.

Surender Reddy, who is hot under the heels of Sye Raa blockbuster success, has announced that he would take some time before finalising his next. Meanwhile, Surender Reddy has recently met Pawan Kalyan and this meeting has garnered a lot of attention in film circles.

Buzz is that Pawan had invited Surender Reddy and the latter immediately dropped in at Pawan’s place. It is also rumoured that Pawan has evinced interest to team up with Surender Reddy following Sye Raa’s success.

Amidst Pawan Kalyan’s re-entry into films has become talking point in tinsel town, Surender Reddy’s meeting with Kalyan is adding fuel to ongoing speculations. Since Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi have both announced to make a film with Pawan Kalyan under Konidela Production Company banner, Surender Reddy who is close to Charan as well as Chiru meeting Kalyan is adding to the buzz.

Meanwhile, producer Dil Raju is also wants to team up with director Surender Reddy. So Surender Reddy’s meeting with Pawan Kalyan is raising a lot of curiosity.

On the other hand, Surender Reddy is also in talks with several other heroes and whichever materialises first depends on the actor and producer. Since heroes are all busy with respective projects, Sye Raa director may have to wait for a while to materialise his next.

Lokesh banned from Guntur DRC meet!

Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh, who appears to be under the impression that he would get popularity by foul-mouthing YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has paid penalty for the same.

On Saturday, the Guntur District Review Committee passed a resolution banning Lokesh from attending the committee meetings hereafter.By virtue of being a member of Andhra Pradesh legislative council, the TDP general secretary can attend the DRC meetings to raise the issues pertaining to the ditrict.

However, the committee took serious note of Lokesh’s abusive comments against Jagan Mohan Reddy. Especially, the committee strongly objected to Lokesh calling Jagan a “psycho.” The members of the DRC discussed the issue and condemned the comments and said it was derogatory to call the chief minister a psycho.

Later, YSRC MLA from Mangalagiri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy passed a resolution, imposing a ban on Lokesh from attending the DRC meetings. Majority members endorsed the resolution.The meeting was attended by district in-charge minister Ranganath Raju, ministers Mekathoti Sucharitha and Mopidevi Venkatramana, besides MLAs and MLCs from the district.

Starring Nikhil and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles, ‘Arjun Suravaram’ is gearing up for its release on November 29th.In a recent interview, Lavanya said she had initially rejected ‘Arjun Suravaram’ as it was a remake of a Tamil film.

“I was not interested in the project initially and rejected it. But later I thought of listening to the subject and liked it. I even enjoyed the original Tamil film,” she said.The noted actress says she is playing a female journalist in the investigative thriller and even did a few action stunts in the film.

Lavanya apparently rejected many films before giving the nod to ‘Arjun Suravaram’. She is pinning high hopes on the film. ‘Arjun Suravaram’ is finally hitting the big screens on November 29th after being postponed multiple times.

Thanks to its tremendous pre-release buzz, low budget film George Reddy is able to register decent opening day numbers at the box office.The film had a strong day 1 in Nizam as expected. However, the word of mouth has been mixed as the film failed to live up to its promise.With no other film to compete with, George Reddy should be able to hold its ground until Sunday.

Low budget thriller Ragala 24 Gantallo starring Esha Rebba and Satya Dev has opened to lukewarm response and below average reports.Rajendra Prasad’s Tholu Bommalata failed to get noticed. Even Jyothika’s Jackpot has opened on a very low note.Last week’s releases Tenali Ramakrishna and Action turned out to be big flops in spite of creating some pre-release buzz.

Only Khaidi turned out to be a genuine hit in recent times and the trade is waiting for Venky Mama to reignite the fire at the box office.

Treating Naga Chaitanya fans on his birthday, a special teaser of Venky Mama is unveiled. Since it is Naga Chaitanya’s birthday special teaser, the main focus is on the young hero, wherein Venky gives comic relief. Raashi Khanna who played Naga Chaitanya’s lady love looked glamorous.

Set in two timelines, there’s huge divergence in physical appearance and behavior of Venky Mama and his alludu. While they initially are seen as happy-go-lucky men chatting about love, they behave responsibly when Chay is in army and Venky comes to meet him.

The fun part and action is rightly balanced in the teaser, whereas Thaman’s BGM is quite likeable. All in all, Venky Mama teaser is delightful with rocking chemistry between Venky and Chay.

New Delhi: With the dramatic development in Maharashtra where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in for a second term on Saturday, despite a late night assurance and okay by NCP chief Sharad Pawar on the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s name as the next Chief Minister, everyone wants to know how it came about.

One theory being floated is that Sharad Pawar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 50-minute conversation in Parliament House on November 20 laid the foundation stone for the development on Saturday when Ajit Pawar, the NCP chief’s nephew bagged the Deputy Chief Minister’s seat.

Sharad Pawar gave a reference on the issue of farmers it was told at the Wednesday’s meeting, however, according to sources, the 50-minute conversation was not limited to just one topic — farming and farmers’ distress, rather there was also talk on Maharashtra politics and all possibilities.

Modi’s relationship with Pawar before the ED raid has been good and the veteran leader has also got Padma Vibhushan under the Modi government in 2017.

In a stunning political development, Maharashtra Governor B.S. Koshyari on Saturday morning administered the oath of office to Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar as the new Deputy Chief Minister.The two were sworn-in at a function in the Raj Bhavan held around 8 a.m. in the presence of a few BJP and NCP leaders, and other government officials.

Soon afterwards, Fadnavis said that the Governor would give them a letter instructing when to prove the new government’s majority on the floor of the Assembly.He added that the cabinet would be expanded at a later date.Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his best wishes to Fadnavis for taking over as the CM for a second consecutive term, and to Pawar on his appointment as Dy.CM.

A letter was issued from Union Home Ministry simultaneously that said that President’s Rule was lifted from Maharashtra.Speaking to the media, Fadnavis said that after the elections, the Shiv Sena which had secured a clear majority in alliance with BJP rejected the public mandate and was engaged in forming the government with some other parties necessitating President’s Rule in Maharashtra.

Since it did not appear possible for those three parties to form a ‘khichdi’ (hotch-potch’) government and in order to provide a stable government to the state the decision was taken.”Along with Ajit Pawar and support of others, we submitted a list to the Governor who discussed the issue with the centre to conclude that a viable government could be formed,” Fadnavis said.

Accordingly, after discussing with the Centre, the Governor invited Fadnavis and Pawar to form the government which was sworn-in.On his part, Ajit Pawar said that giving the state a stable government was the need of the hour which did not appear to be happening.

“I was tired of the continuous negotiations going on and so decided to go with Fadnavis and give a stable government to the state,” Pawar said.
