RP siphoned off Rs 18.31 cr from TV9?
Former chief executive officer of popular television channel TV9 V Ravi Prakash, who was arrested by the Banjara Hills police in Hyderabad in the morning, has been charged with siphoning off over Rs 18.31 crore from Associated Broadcasting Company Limited, which runs the channel, since last year.
The police booked Ravi Prakash for cheating and criminal breach of trust under various Sections including 409, 418 and 420 of Indian penal code. They are now questioning him for the misappropriation of company funds.
The new management of the ABCL comprising representatives of Alanda Media and Entertainment Limited (including My Home Group and Megha Engineering) lodged a complaint with the police on Friday.
According to the complaint, Ravi Prakash and his associate M K V N Murthy had drawn huge sums from the bank accounts of the company without substantiating any entitlement under law.
They also did not follow the prescribed procedure, provide any reasons and take proper approval of Directors / Shareholders.
“This amounts to cheating, gross misappropriation of funds, causing wrongful loss to the company and thereby getting personal benefit at the cost of the company,” the new management said.
The complainant said Alanda had acquired 90.54 per cent of shares in the ABCL and gained the ownership on August 27, 2018. During the verification of records and account statements since June 2019 by new board of directors, it was revealed that Ravi Prakash and Murthy had fraudulently drawn huge sums and also paid to another person Clifford Pereira by abusing the authority and signing the instruments.
“While Ravi Prakash diverted Rs 6.36 crore into his account, Murthy and Pereira got Rs 5.97 crore each. Thus, three of them had drawn Rs 18.31 crore. As per the bank statement, they got a net amount of Rs 11.74 crore, after deducting tax at source,” the complaint said.
The cheques for the payment of this amount were signed by Ravi Prakash and Murthy, who were then authorised signatories, though they were not entitled to receive such huge amounts without obtaining approval of the shareholders/Directors.
“This transfer of amounts was done with a dishonest and fraudulent intention to cause wrongful loss to the company. Later on, as an afterthought, they showed the amount as bonus/ex gratia by producing antedated documents. The money was sanctioned without passing a proper board resolution to pay such amounts,” he said.
“We have also come to know that they have advised the accounts team to record these amounts on account of bonus/ex gratia to them without conducting a proper board meeting or taking the approval in the general body meeting of shareholders of the company,” the complainant said.
Bandla Ganesh-PVP War : Botsa & Vijay Sai Reddy Involved
The finance dispute between PVP and Bandla Ganesh related to Temper movie has gone wrong with both leveling accusations against one another. Both PVP and Ganesh have lodged complaints against one another. While Ganesh had complained to Banjara Hills police against PVP alleging him of threatening and sought protection from him, PVP had lodged complaint in Jubilee Hills police station accusing Ganesh and his aides of trespassing into his house and creating nuisance and threatening him. It is learnt that Jubilee Hills police have filed an FIR against Bandla Ganesh based on PVP’s complaint.
As per reports, Bandla Ganesh is trying to mediate with PVP through higher-ups in YCP. Ganesh is said to be in Vijayawada seeking appointment of top bosses of YCP. Since Ganesh has close proximity with minister and YCP’s senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana and Vijay Sai Reddy, he is said to be trying to put pressure on PVP through Botsa and Vijay Sai Reddy. The ongoing issue of PVP and Ganesh is said to be bringing head-ache to YCP leaders as the party is being dragged into personal rivalry.
PVP said to have financed Bandla Ganesh’s production Temper to the tune of Rs 30 Crore. However, Ganesh failed to clear the balance Rs 4 Crore before the film’s release and PVP had approached Erramanzil court in the matter. Ganesh claimed to have put his land documents as guarantee for the film’s release and had promised to clear the due after film’s release. As per Ganesh, he had cleared the balance 4 Crore after the film’s release. This is where the bone of contention is. Ganesh claims that PVP is now demanding interest on the amount and said PVP had approached court again. Ganesh claims the court has favoured him.
Meanwhile, PVP differs with Ganesh. PVP says Ganesh owes money and he is trying to evade. This finance dispute between Ganesh and PVP has now blown out of porpotion with both parties leveling complaints against one another. Recently, Ganesh and PVP were bumped off at a five-star hotel in Hyderabad which led to present crisis. Ganesh said to have sought PVP to settle the issue out-of-court and even sent his aides to PVP’s house. But PVP told Ganesh to come to his office in Jubilee Hills. In between, both parties have lodged complaints against one another. Temper is 2015 film that has been in several controversies. Even actor and producer Sachiin Joshi had also accused Bandla Ganesh of defaulting him money that he had took as debt for Temper.
With YCP’s bosses involvement, one has to wait and see whether Bandla Ganesh and PVP resolve the issue amicably or not.
Walk in Wines in Hyderabad Coming Soon
The Telangana government is going to come up with new liquor policy and it will be effective from November 1st. This new policy will introduce a new method called the ‘Walk-in Wines.’ This is just like how we go to supermarket and pick the stuff that we want. ‘Walk-in Wines’ too will have all the brands that a costumer needs and he may select of his choice.
The notification for the new liquor policy is released on Thursday and in it, it was cleared mentioned about the ‘Walk-in Wines.’ The government wants to introduce it in Hyderabad and Secunderabad first and later expand it to other regions of Telangana.
Currently ‘Walk-in Wines’ stores are only in fewer numbers in the twin cities and they are likely to go up post the new policy comes into operational. The government has decided to fee for these ‘Walk-in Wines’ at Rs 2.30 crore.
The new liquor policy also made it clear that the government is neither increasing nor decreasing the number of wine stores across the state keeping the number intact. From October 9th, the government will invite tenders for the new wines store and a non-refundable fee of Rs 2 Lakh is fixed to file tenders.
The liquor demand in Hyderabad is growing, accordingly the government has come up with ‘Walk-in Wines.’ Sounds exciting for the consumers but don’t know what consequences it will have.

Chanakya Review: A Lousy Thriller
Gopichand has not delivered a hit in the recent past. Of late, he has been struggling to offer a decent outing.
Moving out of his comfort zone of mass entertainers, he has attempted a spy thriller with “Chanakya”. Does this offer him a fresh boost to his career?
Let’s find out…
Story:
Arjun (Gopichand) is an undercover RAW officer but he poses as a bank employee Ramakrishna to the outside world.
India’s most wanted terrorist Qureshi and his son are hiding in Pakistan with the full security provided by ISI.
As India is gearing up to host G8 Summit, the government of India doesn’t want to take any risk of saving four kidnapped officers, who were abducted by Qureshi. But Arjun goes out to Karachi to save his fellow officers much against the orders of his boss.
Will he succeed in this operation ‘Chanakya’?
Artistes’ Performances:
Gopichand has played the role of a RAW officer in a typical mas-hero style. He has portrayed the character in his usual manner.
The character of Mehreen as his love interest is so dumb. The less we talk about the performance of Mehreen and Zareen Khan as Raw informer in Pakistan the better.
Nasser as the Chief of RAW is just okay. The villains are fitted to their roles.
Technical Excellence:
The film is shot lavishly in Rajasthan and surrounding areas. Superb camerawork by Vetri is the main highlight of the movie.
The music, the dialogues, the action stunts, and other technical output are quite ordinary.
Highlights:
Some episodes in the second half
Drawback:
Horrible first half
Dog comedy track
Predictability
Flat narration
Analysis
Spy thrillers are Hollywood’s forte. Many Indian films have drawn inspiration from the Hollywood movies and followed their template of spy genre to a large extent.
Very recently we have seen an engaging spy thriller – Adivi Sesh’s “Goodachari” that won rave reviews for its engaging screenplay and intelligent twists and turns.
But Gopichand starrer “Chanakya” is quite the opposite. This spy thriller is not only boring but also looks like a mess in the end.
Mark our words, at the end of the interval bang, you would feel cursing yourself for seeing an awful romantic track between Gopichand and Mehreen.
The story involves two pet dogs. A veterinary doctor (played by Ali) tells Mehreen that her pet dog needs a female puppy for mating. She approaches Gopichand asking him to allow the mating of their dogs, he initially refuses and she tries to convince him with all sorts of talk (condoms, paying money for hours, booking resorts, etc). By the end of this long and awful track, they fall in love! Such is the writing standard of this movie.
Thankfully, we don’t see such lousy scenes in the second half. But we don’t get many interesting scenes either.
The following action drama in the second half defies the logic and is filled with predictability. Some sequences are shot intelligently in the second half but we lose interest in the movie by then.
The Zareen Khan episode is laughable.
All in all, “Chanakya” is a spy thriller made in a particular template with a weak screenplay. The villain keeps on saying expect the unexpected, but we don’t get to such novelty here.
Bottom-line: Dull and Drab!
Roja Gets Big Salary as APIIC Chairman
Nagari MLA Roja has been appointed as Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) sometime back and she was given cabinet rank too. Now the YSRCP government has took a call on her salary as APIIC chairman and this will stun you.
Roja will be getting paid Rs 3.82 Lakh monthly. In that Rs 2 Lakh is her salary and the balance amount is allowances. Vehicle allowance is Rs 60,000, Home Rent Allowance (HRA) is Rs 50,000 and her mobile bill is fixed at Rs 2,000. Apart from this the staff of Roja who will be assisting her, will be getting paid Rs 70,000 monthly.

Another Director Gives Up Hopes On Pawan Kalyan
There are times when the likes of Sampath Nandi wasted almost two years of their career to harbour their dream of working with Pawan Kalyan. And then, director Santosh Srinivas of Kandireega and Rabhasa fame also toyed around Pawan through Mythri Movie Makers to make a film with him, in a similar fashion.
Finally, we are hearing that Srinivas has given up the idea of working with Pawan and moved ahead to a young hero. Though he has kept Raviteja as his option all these days, finally Srinivas convinced Bellamkonda Srinivas for his next. Whether he will be doing the supposed Theri remake or any other film is not known, but it looks like the idea of working with Pawan got completely washed out.
In the lines of Srinivas, we have the likes of Kishore Pardasany, Krish and Tamil director Hari preparing stories for Pawan Kalyan. We have to see if they will take off or the dreams get crashed as it happened in the past. Because Pawan is yet to decide if he will be wearing the grease paint again or not.
Ala Vaikuntapuramlo! Where Is The Promotional Song?
Apparently there is buzz all these days that Allu Arjun is coming up with a special promotional song for his film Ala Vaikuntapuramlo that is being directed by Trivikram. But then, we have the song Samajavaragamana released where they have also a video of singers and Thaman performing it.
One wonders if Allu Arjun is not coming up with the promotional video like how he did with Pakado Pakado during Julayi times. But it looks like there is no such plan actually if the hints from insiders are anything to go by. Actually Allu Arjun is present to oversee the shooting of this video they have come up for Samajavaragamana song and onlookers felt that he is acting in the same. But he has no plans to chalk out special promotional song for the film, we hear.
On the other hand, the mega hero is quite happy with the response for Samajavaragamana song and he is said to be planning to release all other songs in a similar fashion, two months before the film’s release such that audiences will grow close to them.
Directed by Trivikram, Ala Vaikuntapuramlo is hitting cinemas on Sankranthi 2020 eve. Dusky siren Pooja Hegde teamed up with Bunny for the second time through this movie.

Ameerpet: Gay sex partner killed ISRO scientist
Four days back, on October 1, ISRO scientist S Suresh was found dead in his apartment in Ameerpet, Hyderabad. As we learnt earlier, the 56-year-old scientist used to live alone in the residence (Annapurna Apartments) and his wife works in Chennai ever since 2005.
Now, the investigation suggests that Suresh was killed by a man blackmailing him for money in exchange for gay sex. The cops confirmed that the 39-year-old Janagama Srinivas, a Lab technician of a private Pathology lab, has killed Suresh.
The reason is Suresh’s daughter, who works in the US and son in Delhi, made him feel lonely most of the time. Moreover, his financial status were also deteriorating. Taking advantage of this, the accused Srinivas allegedly seduced him using the excuse of collecting blood. Srinivas also expected monetary favours in return for sex. As he did not get the expected amount of money, Srinivas planned to kill Suresh.
It is reported that Srinivas purchased a knife before going to Suresh’s apartment on September 30 at 9.30 pm. They both had sex, followed by an argument over money. Things became worse between the two and Srinivas killed Suresh by attacking him with a knife and causing serious head injuries.
