A teaser titled “LIVE5TREAM”, featuring a stylized “5”, has sparked widespread speculation across the AI community.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently alluded to the company’s roadmap, hinting at “something big-but-small” earlier this week—referring to the release of open-source models gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b—followed by a “big upgrade” expected later in the week. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s Head of Applied Research, Boris Power, added fuel to the speculation by expressing excitement about the public reception of GPT-5.

Third-party platforms such as Flowith have already integrated GPT-5 into their model selectors, further indicating an imminent release. Though OpenAI has not officially confirmed details, expectations are high for a major leap in capabilities.
