Nothing Left For Naidu To Celebrate!

Share

The call given by Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the party cadre not to celebrate the New Year Day festivities did not evoke any surprise.

Naidu called upon the party leaders and cadre to stay away from New Year Day celebrations in protest against the proposal of the YSR Congress party government to shift the administrative capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

He said the money that could be spent on the New Year Day celebrations could be donated to the joint action committee of Amaravati farmers’ organisations and also Forum to Safeguard Amaravati to sustain the agitation.

Naidu also asked the party leaders not to cut cakes and come to the office to greet him with bouquets. Instead, they should visit the villages of Amaravati and meet farmers and agriculture labourers to extend support to them.

Naidu is also planning to visit the Amaravati villages once again. Naidu is also planning to visit the Amaravati villages of Mandadam, Errabalem and Krishnalayapalem on the New Year Day.

There is absolutely nothing significant in Naidu’s appeal, as the party has nothing to cheer about and celebrate in the New Year. The party has faced the most humiliating defeat in the assembly elections in May and suffered irrecoverable loss.

The new government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been undoing whatever Naidu had done in the last five years and the proposal to shift the capital was like last nail in the TDP’s coffin.

Under these circumstances, if Naidu and his party leaders celebrate the New Year, it would only show them in bad light. So, he chose to stay away from any festivities!

Watch: We Intentionally Increased Sarileru Budget

Share

Sarileru Neekevvaru starring Mahesh Babu and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles is heading for release on January 11th.

The makers of the film were hell-bent on releasing the film for Sankathi which caused increase in budget. The entire film including songs was shot in 160 days.

Producer Anil Sunkara also agrees that production cost is increased than the estimated budget.

“We had to take a call on the film’s release. We intentionally had to increase the budget to release the film for Sankranthi,” informs Ail Sunkara who is quite elated with the film’s output.

Mahesh Babu’s role, as he says, has several variations and it will remind the audience of Pokiri. “All the scenes involving Mahesh Babu with Vijayashanthi are the highlights of the film.”

Anil Sunkara pretty confidently affirms that Sarileru Neekevvaru will stand in the top 5 films of Telugu cinema.

The producer who shares good rapport with Mahesh Babu states Sarileru Neekevvaru will be the biggest ever release for the super star.

Ganta to stay back in TDP, for now!

Share

Within hours of the reports doing rounds in the media circles that Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is contemplating taking disciplinary action against him, senior legislator and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao took a sudden U-turn.

Ganta told reporters in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday that there was no question of leaving the TDP and all the reports of his plans to change the party were just rumours without any base.

“I have absolutely no plans to quit the TDP. It is true that I have welcomed the decision of the YSR Congress party government to make Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital of the state. I have to do it as a resident of Visakhapatnam,” Ganta said.

He, however, said he would stand by the party president’s direction to support the farmers of Amaravati who would be suffering huge losses on account of shifting of the capital.

“I am demanding that the present government should not mete out injustice to farmers of Amaravati who had given away their lands for the capital,” he said.

Ganta also demanded that the government should allay fears of the possible breakdown of law and order in Visakhapatnam if it was made the state capital.

Apparently, the Visakhapatnam (North) MLA has realised that there would be no entry into the YSR Congress party despite his open support to the three capitals plan of Jagan Mohan Reddy. There is a strong resistance from other YSRC leaders in Visakhapatnam for his entry.

At the same time, Ganta is not sure of his future, if he joins the Bharatiya Janata Party, though he has got offers from that party. So, he might have thought it is better to play safe by staying back in the TDP, at least for now.

Naidu, however, is not happy with Ganta who has openly defied the party line and endorsed the decision of Jagan to shift executive capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

Unless Ganta meets the boss and clears the air, doubts continue to remain on his future course of action.

Jagan government continues to hound JC!

Share

The YSR Congress party government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is not leaving any opportunity to target erring leaders of opposition parties, particularly the Telugu Desam Party, who were habituated to blatant violation of rules during the Chandrababu Naidu regime.

On Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials swooped on Diwakar Travels, a private transport service owned by senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy and his family.

They seized as many as six buses belonging to the travels which were being operated against the rules. The seized buses were shifted to the RTA office in Anantapur town.

Interestingly, it was only three days ago that the RTA authorities released the buses belonging to Diwakar Travels following a high court order. But the same buses were seized once again by the authorities on Tuesday on the pretext of illegal transport without valid permits.

The latest raids followed Diwakar Reddy’s aggressive comments stating that he would make the police officers lick his boots if the TDP came back to power in the next elections.

In October, too, the RTA authorities conducted a series of raids on his transport company and seized as many as 23 buses being operated without valid permits and licences.

The authorities also cancelled the permits of other buses which were being run as inter-state stage carriers.

It was found that Diwakar Travels had been running more buses than the permitted numbers, carrying more passengers in each bus than the capacity and collecting more fares than the prescribed rates.

The authorities booked cases against the company under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Mahesh Babu Should Not Wait for Rajamouli!

Even as top director S S Rajamouli is busy shooting for biggest multi-starrer “RRR”, there are speculations about his dream project “Mahabharatam”.Mahesh Babu’s fans are hoping that Rajamouli would announce this mythological movie with the superstar. Mahesh Babu has been waiting to team up with Rajamouli but it is getting postponed indefinitely.

In a recent video interview, Rajamouli made it clear that he would direct Mahabharatam but not in the near future.“It is not a speculation. I will direct this epic drama, but I am not sure when would it hit the floors,” he stated. So, this will not be his next film.

Rajamouli will never announce a movie before completing the existing project.“Whenever I am ready with a perfect script, I will approach Mahesh Babu. There is no hurry”, Rajamouli said earlier.

Mahesh Babu will have to continue signing other films instead of waiting for this top director. He is now all set to begin promotion of his Sankranthi release “Sarileru Neekevvaru”. He has not announced his next film yet.

Over Confident Bunny Breaks The Pact!?

Share

The clash of the Sankranthi big releases gets intense as Allu Arjun is against the idea of releasing his film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo a day after Mahesh’s Sarileru Neekevvaru.

Bunny, who watched the rough final cut is reportedly over confident on AVPL’s success that he doesn’t want to miss out on early release advantage.

In fact, both the teams were not interested on Jan 10th, the traditional Friday release for sentimental reasons.

Hence, they decided to lock horns on Jan 12th, but the producers of either films had an unofficial pact and agreed upon relessing SLNE and AVPL on Jan 11 and Jan 12 respectively.

But this might hinder the chances of putting up big number on day 1 for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Now that Allu Arjun is confident that the movie could withstand any competition, he is exerting pressure upon Producer Radha Krishna to go for Jan 10th release. Even Allu Aravind is not able to convince his son on this.

Harika Hassine Creations is worried of bad reputation in film and distribution circles if this happens. They are trying to convince Allu Arjun to stick to Jan 12 or in worst case release it on Jan 11 along with Sarileru Neekevvaru.

The atmosphere in both the movie camps is very hot at the moment. Looks like the Sankranthi box office war is going to be much bigger than anyone has ever anticipated.

Capital Controversy: Battle Is On

Share

Faced with a do-or-die situation, farmers of Amaravati continue to wage the battle desperately to see that the administrative capital of the state is not shifted to Visakhapatnam, providing the much-needed masala for the media for the 13th consecutive day.

The issue continues to occupy most of the space on the front pages of Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy, while Sakshi, which has been ignoring it all these days, is forced to carry the reports in defence of the YSR Congress party government’s decision.

On Tuesday, Sakshi gave a lot of prominence to Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao’s statement that the Centre would not interfere in the decision of the state government to shift the capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

He said his statement was authentic in the capacity of party spokesperson and the views expressed by any other BJP leaders were their personal.

Andhra Jyothy also carried GVL’s statement on the front page, while Eenadu completely ignored it. However, both these dailies have given big coverage to Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Guntur jail to call on the arrested farmers and also Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan’s statement clarifying his stand on having all the administrative units at one place.

The high court’s directions to the state government seeking status report on Amaravati was carried by the media, but in different tunes.

The defection of TDP legislator Maddali Giri from Guntur (West) into the YSR Congress party, albeit indirectly, was yet another important news that made the headlines in the major Telugu newspapers.

Sakshi, however, was careful in carrying the report, confining it to Maddali’s criticism of Naidu for instigating the farmers of the capital region.

However, the big news that has become banner in Sakshi and was played up prominently by the other two major dailies was the decision taken by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on the door-delivery of sand to the consumers. This is expected to benefit the consumers immensely and prevent hoarding and black-marketing of sand.

While Eenadu carried a pro-government story as an anchor – it was about extending all the government schemes to the beneficiaries through village secretariats from January 1, it did not find a place even in Sakshi.

On the other hand, Sakshi carried an anchor story on the compliments given by Polavaram Project Authority on the progress of Polavaram works. It was not carried by the other two newspapers.

The conduct of EAMCET-2020 in Andhra Pradesh from April 20 is yet another news that figured prominently in all the three dailies.

Wizard of words, Trivikram Srinivas has set a new trend in Telugu cinema dialogue writing. His innings though began as a writer, he is now a brand for Acha Telugu film titles and native touch in every line inked from his pen.

GVL Clears Air, A Lesson For Kanna, Sujana

Share

There is confusion about the BJP role in the Jagan Mohan Reddy government’s move to have three capitals for the State. But, that confusion is cleared by party national spokesman and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao.It was a clear message to the rank and file of the AP BJP on the controversy surrounding the capital issues of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana had welcomed the three capitals proposal when chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy made a statement in Assembly. He said the BJP welcomes the decentralisation and the decision would benefit the three regions of the state, namely Uttarandhra, Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

Unfortunately, he changed his stand in no time and stood by the TDP-sponsored movement of the Amaravati farmers. He went on one-day silent protest at the place where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for Amaravati in 2016.There is another leader in BJP, new to the party, Y S Chowdary, who is also actively opposing the State government’s proposal on three capitals.

He is actively touring the capital villages, meeting the farmers and opposing the government’s proposal. The BJP ranks thus are divided whether to support the government’s plans or oppose. They are also undecided whether to remain silent as they have no stakes, while some try to take advantage of the situation to improve its base.

At this point of time, GVL came on to the screen and cleared the air. The BJP national leadership has no role in deciding where the State capital should be, and thus left the decision to the Jaganmohan Reddy government. While making this statement, he repeated and stressed it twice, perhaps to make it clear to those who are poking their nose into the Jagan Mohan Reddy government’s decision.

So, Kanna and Sujana, remember GVL is not just a leader like you, he is the national spokesperson of the party. The message is clear and loud. It is for you to understand and toe the party line.

Mahesh Should Thankful To His Master

Share

One thing that worried Mahesh Babu fans the most was their hero was not an exceptional dancer like other top stars in Tollywood.More than that, Mahesh Babu was severely criticized for his unpleasant dances in few of his previous films.

Much to the delight of fans, Mahesh Babu impressed one and all with his simple yet cute dances in Daang Daang song in Sarileru Neekevvaru. It was challenging for Mahesh Babu to shake his leg alongside Tamannaah and match the charm of the actress. Mahesh made everyone believe that he can dance.

Mahesh Babu indeed reminds fans of Super Star Krishna who used to perform simple yet charismatic moves.
Not just Krishna fans, but also other hero fans used to enjoy his dances which of course can be performed without much practice.Mahesh Babu should be thankful to his choreographer Shekar master who succeeded in impressing anti-fans as well.

Especially, Mahesh Babu and Shekar master are winning brownie points for the trademark guitar step.

CBI Raids Rayapati Firms

Share

In a surprise development, the CBI officers started simultaneous raids on the firms of TDP leader and former MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, on Tuesday, the last day of the year 2019.

Rayapati, a strong business man, from Guntur wielded both business and politics for the past two decades. His firm, Transtroy, has been one of the infrastructure major in the State and had spread across the country with contracts.

Transtroy was the prime contractor for the prestigious Polavaram Project, which was later pulled out of it by Chandrababu Naidu government on charges of delay and non-compliance.

The raids are being conducted in the offices and residences of Rayapati in Guntur, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Delhi simultaneously from the early hours today.

The raids were also spread to the residences of the Transtroy CEO, Sridhar Cherukuri.

The CBI officials have reportedly seized several important documents relating to the company, particularly about its financial transactions.
