Buzz: Mahanati Bug Has Bitten Samantha Deeply
It’s very late to make such comments about Samantha and Mahanati, but surely the film has also earned this actress some accolades though a small role she starred in. But sources close to the actress reveal that since starring in that movie and with Keerthy Suresh winning both National Award and a Filmfare, Samantha is smitten by a bug.
Yes, the actress now wants to do a biopic in the lines of Mahanati, where she could unravel her acting potential by presenting the story of a true hero in real life. While Savitri’s story is something different, Samantha is said to be looking forward to starring in a sports biopic or a film that is based on some real-life activists.
Already a team is said to be looking forward to such real-life stories for Samantha, while the actress is also willing to produce such megaproject herself. Well, we have to see which story will finally reach Samantha in order to realize her dream, but she should have made such attempts quite earlier rather when her career reached a fag end.
Prabhas Praises MV Team!
Baahubali star Prabhas has heaped praises on Mathu Vadalaraa team. Prabhas, who have watched the film in a private screening, appreciated newcomers Simha Koduri and Kala Bhairava for their outstanding show and debutante director Ritesh Rana. Since Baahubali music composer MM Keeravani’s sons Simha and Kaala Bhairava are launched with the film as actor and music composer respectively, Prabhas has a connection. Prabhas appreciated producer Cherry aka Chiranjeevi and Mythri Movie Makers for bankrolling a concept film which is engaging and has a social message.
Prabhas congratulated Simha and Kaala Bhiarava. He said, “It is making me happy to hear about the success of #MathuVadalara. Glad that you pulled it off so well.” He also shot for a brief video where he was interacted with the team Mathu Vadalara. Taking time out of his hectic schedule, Prabhas has spared good time with the whole team of Mathu Vadalara after watching the film. The team of MV is on cloud nine. They are hoping that Prabhas and Rajamouli’s promotion spree would help the film on New Year eve.
Prabhas, who is currently working on Jaan with Radha Krishna under UV Creations, has a commitment with Mythri Movie Makers.

Telugu Cinema from 2010 to 2019 saw consolidation of Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Jr. NTR, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and growth of Prabhas, as big stars.Allu Arjun found Race Gurram, Sarrainodu kind of hits adding to the market growth he enjoyed with Julayi. Now, he is one of the big stars but he has big flops like Naa Peru Surya, Badrinath to call him Star of the Decade.
Mahesh Babu found form with different films but during end of the decade he acted in very routine characters and that affected his market. But he has 50-50 success ratio with disasters like Brahmostavam, 1Nenokkadine and Spyder which lost more than what his hit films earned. Dookudu and Srimanthudu did increase his market and we hope he finds consistency in 2020’s.
Pawan Kalyan started off the decade with disasters, in the middle scored Gabbar Singh and Attharintiki Daredi kind of big hits but again delivered disasters like Agnyathavaasi, Sardar Gabbar Singh to keep his success ratio at minimum like 2000’s after Khushi.
Ram Charan managed one big success with Rangasthalam but immediately delivered a flop like Vinaya Vidheya Rama. He found more consistent success as producer with Khaidi No 150 and Sye Raa.
Jr. NTR started off the decade by changing his style with Adhurs, Brundavanam and went back to routine films to damage his market. But from 2016, he found films that continuously increased his market while 2014 Temper, changed his image for good. Still, his films are said to have fallen just short of Break-even status and hence, he cannot be given Star of the Decade title.
Prabhas could have easily taken the award of there was no Saaho. Baahubali films and Mirchi gave him 3 huge hits and made him Pan India star too. But Saaho, Rebel are such big disasters that he will only get the title, if someone has to be chosen for sure.
Fans might not agree but 80’s – Star of Decade was Chiranjeevi due to his consistency and 90’s saw all 4 of the Big Telugu stars – Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and Venkatesh consistently performing with few hiccups. 2000’s saw rise of new stars and that decade could have belonged to young stars but no one had consistency and even in 2010’s they did not show any as each one wants to be Rajnikanth and have a growing market every year with each film while the Industry just doesn’t function like that!

Stylish Star Allu Arjun has other day wrapped all the shooting related to his upcoming stunner Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo being directed by Trivikram. One more wicket down from TDP
In another setback to the TDP, Guntur West MLA Maddali Giri is likely to join the YSRCP. Giri was supposed to attend TDP chief Chandrababu’s protest on Monday but he skipped it. Instead he met YSRCP minister Vempalli Srinivas and it is this minister who pulled the TDP leader into YSRCP’s fold.
Along with Vempalli, Giri is expected to meet CM YS Jagan. The TDP MLA is likely to convey Jagan, he would be joining YSRCP but as per there are condition. In order to avoid disqualification, Giri might resign to TDP and may sit in the assembly like Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi.
This is interesting as when farmers of Guntur district are protesting against capital change, an opposition MLA is making his way into the ruling party. In fact Maddali Giri ignored the protest of farmers and joined the other camp.
The political experts too are not able to understand YSRCP’s political strategies as it is not encouraging other party MLAs into its. If TDP loses few more MLAs, the party can be stripped off from the opposition status and it will be complete YSRCP’s dominance in the assembly.
