Ramana Deekshitulu back as TTD head priest!
As expected, former chief priest of Lord Venkateshwara temple of Tirumala Dr A V Ramana Deekshitulu is back in his post, thanks to his intense lobbying with the powers-that-be.
On Saturday, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board, at its meeting chaired by Y V Subba Reddy, appointed Ramana Deekshitulu as the “Pradhana Archaka” in the Srivari temple, of course on honorary basis.
This would mean, he would be taking part in the daily rituals of the temple as he was doing in the past, along with other head priests.
However, he would not have the powers of the regular head priest and he would only be treated as honorary head priest.
A couple of months ago, the Jagan government issued an order restoring the hereditary priesthood in temples and removal of upper age limit for priests for retirement, the order was not made applicable to the TTD which has its own set of rules.
A disappointed Deekshitulu made an appeal to Jagan to implement the orders for TTD as well. But the state government did not issue any such orders. It has now rehabilitated Deekshitulu in an honourary post that would satisfy him.
Last month, Deekshitulu was appointed as “agama advisor” of the TTD. He will continue to be the advisor for his life time.
Ramana Deekshitulu was forced to retire by the previous Telugu Desam Party government on attainment of superannuation, along with three others, in 2018 after he made sensational allegations against the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on missing jewellery. Subsequently, he made serious charges against the TDP.
After Jagan came to power in May this year, Ramana Deekshitulu met him and requested him to restore his post in the Tirumala temple.
The chief minister then assured that he would revoke the order on implementing rule of superannuation in temples, as priesthood is a hereditary post.
Tamannaah’s is Not an Item Song: Anil Ravipudi
Director Anil Ravipudi has clarified that there is no item song in “Sarileru Neekevvaru”.The song “Daang Daang” that featured Tamannah is not an item number, he stressed. According to him, it is a party song and he inspired by an NDTV program.
NDTV airs a show called ‘Jai Jawan’ during Independence Day every year. The channel takes famous movie celebrities to the army camps and makes them interact with the army jaawans.
Celebrities also dance and party with the soldiers. Inspired by this program, Anil Ravipudi has included this special song. According to him, Tamannah will appear in the song as a movie star.
Mahesh Babu is playing an army major in the movie. Though it is a special song, Anil Ravipudi doesn’t want to term it as an item number.
Tamannah took a hefty paycheck for this dance number.
BJP puts up a flop show at Amaravati!
Bharatiya Janata Party, which is making a desperate attempt to gain footing in Andhra Pradesh, is trying to take maximum advantage of the ongoing agitation by farmers of Amaravati capital region against proposed shifting of administrative capital to Visakhapatnam.
After the initial dilly dallying over YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement in the state assembly on his three capitals plan, the BJP leaders are now speaking more or less in one voice in support of farmers.
BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana has taken a clear stand against the three capitals plan.
While calling for a decentralised development, Kanna said his party was seriously opposed to shifting of administrative capital to Visakhapatnam.
Though the BJP leaders are hoping to gain some political mileage from their stand, there are not many takers for the BJP in the agitation.
It was evident from the way the farmers responded to Kannna Lakshminarayana’s day-long “mouna deeksha” (silent protest) at Uddandarayunipalem, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid foundation stone on October 23, 2015.
Kanna could not continue his agitation even till afternoon, as there was not much response to his protest from the local farmers. A few BJP activists gathered there and raised slogans, but they didn’t attract much attention.
He accused chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his cabinet colleagues of planning to sell lands in capital Amaravati in the name of shifting.
He said farmers of the region had given 33,000 acres of land for capital construction under the land pooling scheme and total 75,000 acre was there in the capital including the lands allotted by the Centre.
“Now the ministers and leaders of YSRCP were plotting to sell them to certain private institutions,” he alleged.
Andhra University to house AP Secretariat?
The YSR Congress party government might have postponed its decision to shift the executive capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam for the time being, but the authorities have already been making arrangements for running the administration from the port city.
According to highly placed sources, the officials have already identified the northern blocks of Andhra University located towards Maddilapalem junction on the national highway as the probable secretariat complex and other administrative blocks.
“There are several buildings belonging to Andhra University Engineering College wing which are not being used effectively. Besides, there is a huge conference hall that can accommodate 1500 people. The entire complex also has a huge ground that can be used for vehicle parking,” sources said.
Since it is a huge campus, the shifting of secretariat to this place will not affect the academic atmosphere of the university at all. Since it is closer to the national highway, it will have easy access to the planned capital city towards Viziangaram, including the airport.
“At the same time, it is also closer to the beach road where the chief minister’s camp office and other official complexes will come up,” the sources said.
Raghurama Raju moving away from YSRC?
It appears YSR Congress party MP from Narsapuram K Raghurama Krishnam Raju is gradually moving away from YSR Congress party, notwithstanding his comments in the media interviews earlier that he has not been defying the party at all.
But going by his statements in the recent past, Raju is not hiding his unhappiness over the decisions of YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is openly expressing his views that appear to be against the party line.
The other day, Raju came in defence of the ongoing agitation by the farmers of Amaravati capital region notwithstanding the fact that the party leaders have been accusing the protesters as paid artistes who are being instigated by the Telugu Desam Party leaders against the government.
The Narsapuram MP said the farmers were fully justified in their demand as they had given their precious land for the capital region and they would be left in the lurch if the capital is shifted from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.
“The government should first address their grievances before taking any decision,” he said.
On Saturday, too, Raghurama Krishnam Raju played down the Cabinet sub-committee report on insider trading in Amaravati saying it had several loopholes.
He said it was not possible to fix TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the insider trading case because of these loopholes.
“Existing laws cannot support the allegations made in the cabinet sub-committee report. The government cannot do anything to Chandrababu Naidu because of these laws. Unless the governments takes up amendment of the laws, the government cannot implicate Naidu in the insider trading case,” he said.
The Jagan government is planning to entrust the case to CBI or CB-CID after taking the legal opinion.
So, what is Raghurama Raju up to, by making critical comments against the government? Apparently, he is trying to get closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party, say sources.

It is rare that a big film’s music comes out like three months before, well to say frankly so far no one attempted so. Today’s trend is to start the musical promotions a month before the theatrical release of the movie. Breaking this trend, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ songs got released much earlier. In fact, many near and dear of Allu Arjun have cautioned regarding this new trend.
As many films were and are lined in December and January months, the stylish star opined that the competition will be too high and so instructed his team to release the songs well in advance. As a result the songs ‘Samajavaragamana’ and ‘Ramuloo Ramulaa’ were out and they have garnered 100 million views and topped the chartbusters.
These details are revealed by music composer SS Thaman himself and he hailed Allu Arjun’s predictions. The third song ‘OMG Daddy’ is a situational song and so there is a mixed response for it. Very recently the fourth song ‘Butta Bomma’ was released. Though unanimously it garnered a super response, they did not translate into views. Currently there are many songs and so the music lovers did not get stuck to anyone in particular. Yet in this situation, ‘Butta Bomma’ is moving slowly in terms of views.

Chandrababu Know Every Loop Holes
A few days back YSRCP’s Narsapuram MP Raghuram Krishnam Raju was in headlines for hosting a dinner to BJP leaders and there were reports that he might take up saffron flag. This issue got settled and now Raghuram Krishnam Raju is once again back in headlines for commenting in support of Chandrababu.
Yesterday the AP cabinet sub-committee report claimed that TDP leaders were involved in Insider-Trading in Amaravati lands. Based on cabinet sub-committee report, the YSRCP government is planning to initiate CBI probe. However Raghuram Krishnam Raju feels that CBI or any investigation agency can’t do anything to Chandrababu as the YSRCP MP feels that the TDP chief knows every loophole in the law and can advantage of it. “It is not possible to put Chandrababu behind the bars using the current Law system, they should be changed,” added the Narasapuram MP.
Though these statements are against Chandrababu, the YSRCP is unable to understand the intentions of Raghuram Krishnam Raju and his comments have become a big debate. We don’t think YSRCP will take any action against him but what will be the next big thing of this MP is something to be seen.
Struggling Star Director Says He Realised All The Mistakes
One of the most talked about star directors who kept making the same film again and again, and lost all the patronage he has, is none other than Sreenu Vaitla. After his film ‘Ready’ turning out to be super hit, the director picked the same ‘house comedy formula’ all the time to execute things. His all other films followed the suit, eventually turning up damp squibs at the box office.
After his ‘Amar Akbar Antony’ with Raviteja also went for a toss, the director really got shocked by the punch audience gave him. He says that making films in the same genre has cost him huge and he should have avoided that. In a TV interview, Vaitla felt sad that he has not identified the mistake for a long time until he scored back to back flops. But then, what’s his next move?
Though he hasn’t revealed any names, Vaitla stated that he has corrected the mistakes and his new film’s story is going to be stunning and unusual.
