Bakasura Restaurant Promises Fun-Filled Family Entertainment

Bakasura Restaurant promises a perfect blend of humor and emotion, designed to entertain audiences for a full two and a half hours. The makers describe it as a cinematic feast guaranteed to leave viewers satisfied.
Popular character actor and comedian Praveen, known for his impeccable comic timing and dialogue delivery, steps into the lead role in this film. Viva Harsha plays the title role, supported by an ensemble cast including Krishna Bhagavan, Shining Phani, KGF-fame Garuda Ram, and others.
The film marks the directorial debut of SJ Shiva and is produced by Lakshmayya Achari and Janardhan Achari under the SJ Movies banner. Marketed as a “hunger comedy entertainer,” Bakasura Restaurant is set for a global release on August 8. Its songs and trailer, recently released, have received a positive response.
A pre-release event was held in Hyderabad with actor Sudheer Babu as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, Sudheer Babu said,
“Praveen is one of my favorite actors. Whenever directors ask me for suggestions, I always recommend him. He’s passionate about making every film a success. Now, with this film, he takes on a lead role. Praveen is not just a talented actor but also a kind-hearted human being. I hope this film turns out to be a major breakthrough for him. Congratulations to the producers for creating a movie that delivers pure fun. Laughter should never be postponed—this is a film to watch with the whole family in theaters.”
Producer Janardhan Achari added,
“In this movie, the story itself is the hero. The director has done an excellent job in presenting it. Together with Praveen, Viva Harsha, and the entire cast, we’ve created a delicious dish called Bakasura Restaurant. We hope audiences love it. The movie is being released under Dil Raju’s SV banner.”
Director SJ Shiva shared his journey:
“My experience working in the direction department of Virupaksha helped me prepare for my debut. My brother came forward to produce my first film. The story is enriched by beautiful music, and composer Vikas Badisa has a bright future. It was Praveen’s agreement to take up this role that made everything possible. We’ve picked actors who fit the story perfectly, and performances by Viva Harsha and Shining Phani will stand out. The film has more to offer than what the trailer shows, with surprises, emotional moments, and plenty of laughter. It’s a complete family entertainer.”
Lead actor Praveen said,
“This is a special day for me, especially having the hero of Prema Katha Chitram, a movie that changed our lives, here as our guest. I thank the director and producers for trusting me with this opportunity. Vikas Badisa’s music is already getting a great response. The entire technical team has worked hard to bring this vision to life. When Shiva narrated the story, I had full confidence in him. Bakasura Restaurant is a heartwarming, emotional, and fun-filled entertainer that everyone will enjoy.”
Other attendees at the event included Satyam Rajesh, Shining Phani, Vivek Dandu, Amar, Ram Patas, Ramya Priya, Prachi Thakur, DOP Bala Saraswathi, music director Vikas Badisa, and executive producer Vinay Kotti.
Sumanth Opens Up on Anaganaga Success and Hindi Film Rejections

Sumanth’s web film Anaganaga has been receiving an impressive response from audiences. The film’s emotional depth and strong performances have struck a chord, earning praise from many — including superstar Mahesh Babu. Streaming on ETV Win, the film, which also features Kajal Chowdhary and Viharsh, has crossed an impressive 150 million streaming minutes, bringing Sumanth a fresh wave of attention.
During a recent fan interaction, Sumanth joined director Sunny Sanjay to answer questions. One fan asked whether actors from film families still need to audition for roles. Sumanth’s candid response was that while industry connections might open doors initially, they don’t guarantee success.
He revealed that he had recently auditioned for four to five Hindi films but was rejected in all of them, primarily due to his lack of fluency in Hindi. “My Hindi wasn’t strong enough, and that cost me those roles,” he admitted. Sumanth added that in the film industry, nothing is ever guaranteed. Even those with a background or experience face rejection. “If I wasn’t an actor, I would have chosen something else,” he said, highlighting the uncertainty and competitiveness of the profession.
Rashmika Watches Kingdom in Disguise, Fuels Vijay Rumors

The relationship between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna has long been one of the most talked-about topics in Tollywood. Though neither of them has ever confirmed anything officially, fans have pieced together clues from holiday photos, interviews, and their subtle social media interactions, keeping the buzz alive over the years.
With Vijay’s latest film Kingdom now running in theatres, the actor and producer S. Naga Vamsi recently participated in a post-release interaction with Telugu web journalists. During the conversation, Rashmika’s congratulatory tweet for the film came up, leading to an interesting revelation.
According to Naga Vamsi, Rashmika is a huge fan of Vijay and was very keen to watch Kingdom on its very first day at the iconic Sree Ramulu theatre in Hyderabad. However, due to safety concerns following recent crowd incidents and the heavy rush expected, the team advised her against attending there. Instead, she decided to watch the film at Brahmaramba theatre — and she did so in disguise, to avoid drawing attention and ensure safety.
This incident has added yet another layer to the long-standing speculation surrounding the duo. Earlier, when asked about her relationship status at a public event, Rashmika remarked that there was no need to clarify “as people already know.” In the same interview, when Vijay was asked about any “good news” in the near future, he simply smiled and replied, “Let’s see,” without elaborating.
While there is still no official confirmation from either side, these hints continue to fuel curiosity among fans. For many, this feels like yet another sign that something beyond friendship could be brewing between the two stars.
Chiranjeevi Prioritizes Bobby’s Next After Vishwambhara

Megastar Chiranjeevi seems to have a special regard for director Bobby. After delivering the blockbuster Waltair Veerayya, Bobby has clearly earned the actor’s trust and admiration. Adding to this professional bond is a personal connection — Bobby’s father shares a close relationship with Chiranjeevi, which has further strengthened their rapport.
Giving priority to Bobby’s next venture, Chiranjeevi has decided to set aside director Srikanth Odela’s film for the moment and begin work on Bobby’s project in the final months of this year.
At present, Chiranjeevi is busy with two ongoing films — Vishwambhara and an untitled project with Anil Ravipudi. Vishwambhara is likely to hit theaters for Deepavali, while the Ravipudi film is being planned for a Sankranthi or post-Sankranthi release.
Bobby’s new film with Chiranjeevi is expected to go on floors later this year, with regular shooting scheduled to commence in January.
Known for his penchant for big budgets and lavish production values, Bobby sometimes raises concerns among producers. However, Chiranjeevi’s proactive involvement in setting up this project once again shows his strong support and confidence in the director.

Venkitesh VP Steals the Show with Kingdom Villain Role

Some actors win fans through their performances on screen, but Venkitesh VP, a relatively unknown face from Malayalam cinema, managed to build a fanbase in Telugu even before his debut film released—all thanks to one electrifying speech.
Until now, Venkitesh was not a big name in the Malayalam industry, having appeared in just four or five small films. Just as he was finding his footing there, he landed a golden opportunity to play the main villain in the highly anticipated Telugu film Kingdom. Determined to make the most of it, he grabbed the chance with both hands.
Even before Kingdom hit the theatres, his performance had already impressed the team. None other than Vijay Deverakonda, the film’s lead, posted online praising Venkitesh’s acting skills. But it was during the pre-release event that Venkitesh truly made a mark. His ten-minute speech, brimming with energy and confidence, instantly won over the audience. Boldly, he requested the crowd to cheer and clap for his entry scene in the movie—a daring ask for a newcomer, but one that paid off.
When Kingdom finally released on Thursday, audiences delivered exactly what he hoped for. His entry scene was met with whistles, cheers, and thunderous applause, reminiscent of a star hero’s welcome. In several intense moments, particularly a powerful sequence in the second half, Venkitesh’s performance left viewers stunned. Now it’s clear why Venkitesh’s pre-release speech carried so much fire—he had something to prove, and he delivered. With this breakout role, he has opened the door to a wave of opportunities in Telugu cinema.
