With Baahubali 1 & 2 and RRR, he mesmerized audiences worldwide with his vision and craft, even bringing home an Oscar with RRR.

His upcoming projects are always in the spotlight, and he has changed the long-held perception that sequels don’t work in Telugu cinema.
Back in 2013, Baahubali: The Beginning became a massive blockbuster with Prabhas in the lead, and its sequel, Baahubali 2, went on to become an even bigger success, setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema.
Notably, Baahubali became the first Telugu sequel to achieve such phenomenal success and elevate the stature of Telugu films on a national and international level.

Following this, the trend of making sequels has grown significantly.
Many filmmakers are now trying to split stories into multiple parts, often dragging the narrative with the hope of cashing in on hype.
In contrast, Rajamouli stayed away from this trend — RRR was made as a single film despite its massive scale, and his upcoming project with superstar Mahesh Babu is also following the same approach.

Currently, social media discussions highlight how some filmmakers unnecessarily stretch storylines just to create sequels, which can dilute the impact of the film.

బాలీవుడ్ మిస్టర్ పర్ఫెక్షనిస్ట్ ఆమిర్ ఖాన్ తాజా చిత్రం సితారే జమీన్ పర్ బాక్సాఫీస్ వద్ద విజయవంతంగా ప్రదర్శనలు ముగించుకుని ఇప్పుడు డిజిటల్ స్ట్రీమింగ్‌ లోకి అడుగుపెట్టింది. సినిమా ప్రారంభం నుండి ఓటీటీలకు అమ్మకూడదనే నిర్ణయాన్ని పాటించిన ఆమిర్, తన మాట నిలబెట్టుకున్నారు.

తాజాగా థియేట్రికల్ రన్ ముగిసిన ఈ సినిమాను ఆమిర్ తన అధికారిక యూట్యూబ్ ఛానల్‌లో పే-పర్-వ్యూ మోడల్‌లో రిలీజ్ చేశారు. ప్రేక్షకులు రూ.100 చెల్లించి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని 48 గంటల పాటు చూడొచ్చు. అయితే యాపిల్ డివైసుల్లో మాత్రం ఈ రెంట్ రూ.179గా చూపించడంతో కొంతమంది ఫిర్యాదులు చేశారు.

దీనిపై ఆమిర్ ఖాన్ ప్రొడక్షన్స్ స్పందిస్తూ, “ధరలో తేడా వచ్చిన సమస్యను గమనించాం. వీలైనంత త్వరగా సరిచేస్తాం. సహకరించినందుకు ధన్యవాదాలు” అని అధికారిక ప్రకటన ఇచ్చింది.

సినిమా విడుదల విషయంలో ఈ సరికొత్త ఆలోచన వెనుక కారణం గురించి ఆమిర్ మాట్లాడుతూ, “ప్రేక్షకులు తక్కువ ధరలో సినిమాలను చూడగలిగేలా చేయడమే నా ఉద్దేశ్యం. పెద్ద పెద్ద ఓటీటీలకు అమ్మడం కన్నా, నేరుగా అందరికీ చేరడం మంచిదని అనిపించింది. ఈ విధానం వల్ల థియేటర్లలో చూసే అనుభూతిని కూడా కొనసాగించవచ్చు” అన్నారు.

కేవలం సితారే జమీన్ పర్ మాత్రమే కాకుండా, తన పాత సినిమాలను కూడా త్వరలో యూట్యూబ్‌లో పే-పర్-వ్యూ ద్వారా అందుబాటులోకి తెస్తానని ఆమిర్ తెలిపారు. కొత్త దర్శకులకు కూడా ఈ ప్లాట్‌ఫారమ్‌ ద్వారా అవకాశం ఇస్తానని చెప్పారు. ఇకపోతే తన ఫేమస్ టీవీ షో ‘సత్యమేవ జయతే’ని ఉచితంగా యూట్యూబ్‌లో అప్‌లోడ్ చేయనున్నట్లు ఆయన ప్రకటించారు.

ఆమిర్ ఖాన్ తీసుకున్న ఈ నిర్ణయం బాలీవుడ్‌లో కొత్త ట్రెండ్‌గా మారే అవకాశాలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి.

In a surprising development, the 2013 Hindi film Raanjhanaa, starring Dhanush, has been re-released with a shocking twist. Using AI technology, the film’s climax has been altered—reviving Dhanush’s character, who originally dies at the end.

Raanjhanaa, directed by Anand L. Rai with music by A.R. Rahman, marked Dhanush’s powerful debut in Bollywood and was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The Tamil version, Ambikapathy, also performed well.

In the original film, Dhanush’s character dies in a hospital bed, and the story ends with a symbolic rebirth sequence, giving the film a sense of poetic closure. However, in the updated version, the climactic moment is drastically changed as he suddenly opens his eyes, implying that he survived. This AI-driven twist stunned audiences, leading to loud cheers and applause in theatres, though it also left many viewers confused.

This is not the first time Indian cinema has experimented with AI. Recently, the late Vijayakanth was digitally recreated for a cameo in Vijay’s GOAT (The Greatest of All Time), and a similar technique was used in Kalisundam Raa featuring Venkatesh. However, Raanjhanaa’s change marks a new level of experimentation by rewriting an emotional ending.

The alteration has sparked debate in film circles. While some applaud the technological advancement, others feel that modifying classic endings undermines their emotional impact. After all, certain stories become memorable because of the powerful emotions tied to their tragic finales. Changing such climaxes, critics argue, risks diluting their timeless appeal for future generations.

As one film enthusiast pointed out, “Imagine if iconic films like Devadasu or Premabhishekam were re-edited to let the lead characters live—would they still feel as impactful?”

While AI technology opens exciting new possibilities, many believe such experiments should be handled with caution. Raanjhanaa may have set a bold new trend, but whether this path is good for cinema remains an open question.

Ranbir Kapoor Chooses Ramayana Over Kishore Kumar Biopic

Filmmaker Anurag Basu has revealed that Ranbir Kapoor chose Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus Ramayana over the long-planned biopic on legendary singer Kishore Kumar.

Basu, who had been developing the Kishore Kumar biopic for years with Ranbir in mind for the lead role, shared during an interview with BBC News that the actor faced a tough choice between the two ambitious projects. Ultimately, Ranbir opted for Ramayana, in which he will play Lord Ram.

The epic, being made in two parts on a staggering budget of ₹4,000 crores, is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. After Ranbir stepped away, the role of Kishore Kumar in the biopic was subsequently offered to Aamir Khan.
