Marketed as a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018), the film is an official remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film explores caste-based discrimination through the lens of a love story between two college students from different caste backgrounds.

Apple Inc. may be poised to depart from its traditionally cautious approach to mergers and acquisitions as it seeks to bolster its capabilities in artificial intelligence. During the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Tim Cook indicated a willingness to pursue larger-scale acquisitions, particularly those that could accelerate Apple’s AI roadmap.

Responding to a question from Citi analyst Atif Malik, Cook clarified that company size is not a constraint in Apple’s acquisition strategy. “We’re very open to M&A that accelerates our roadmap,” he stated. “We’re not stuck on a certain size company. We basically ask ourselves whether a company can help us accelerate a roadmap. If they do, then we are interested.”

This represents a notable shift for the Cupertino-based tech giant, which has historically steered clear of large acquisitions. Its largest purchase remains the $3 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics in 2014. However, recent reports suggest Apple has held internal discussions about acquiring Perplexity, a fast-growing AI search startup now valued at over $18 billion following a recent $1 billion funding round.

Cook revealed that Apple has already acquired seven companies in 2025, although not all are AI-focused. He did not provide details on any future transactions.

CFO Kevan Parekh added that Apple’s overall expenditure is expected to rise, primarily due to increased investments in AI infrastructure and development. “It’s not going to be exponential growth, but it is going to grow substantially,” Parekh noted.

Apple’s strategic pivot toward AI comes amid mounting pressure to keep pace with rivals such as Microsoft and Google, which have made significant advancements through offerings like Copilot and Gemini. Microsoft is projected to spend over $100 billion on AI this year, while Google’s AI investment is estimated at $85 billion. Tollywood veteran actor Mohan Babu and his son, actor Manchu Vishnu, have been given relief by the Supreme Court in a case filed against them six years ago. The case was related to a protest they staged in Tirupati demanding the clearance of pending fee reimbursement dues.

The Supreme Court bench quashed the case, overturning the earlier judgment delivered by the High Court on January 2 this year. The case dates back to March 22, 2019, when, during the tenure of the Chandrababu Naidu-led government, Mohan Babu and Vishnu, along with students and staff, staged a rally and sit-in protest on the streets of Tirupati.

Police registered a case at the time, stating that the protest caused heavy traffic disruption and inconvenience to the public, and also booked them for violating the election code of conduct. Although the case did not progress after the YSRCP came to power—who were supported by Mohan Babu and Vishnu during the elections—it picked up pace again after the change in government.

Challenging the charges, the actors approached the High Court claiming that the case was baseless and that the election code did not apply to them. However, their petition was dismissed by the High Court, leading them to appeal in the Supreme Court.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Supreme Court ruled in their favor, quashing the FIR registered at the Chandragiri Police Station on March 23, 2019, and the subsequent charge sheet. The bench noted that there was no clear evidence in the FIR or the charge sheet showing that the sections imposed were applicable to them or that they were involved in any unlawful activities or caused harm to the public.

Adding to the buzz, the makers recently unveiled a striking new poster of Sanjay Dutt on the occasion of his birthday. In the poster, Sanjay Dutt sports a vintage look with long hair and a mustache, sparking speculation that he will be seen playing Prabhas’ grandfather in the movie.

Directed on a grand scale, The Raja Saab also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads. Produced by T.G. Viswa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory, the film features music by S.S. Thaman.
