Bandla Ganesh Upset With Mega Family!

Share

When a person is going through a crisis period, it is nothing but natural that he expects at least a call his close associates and friends to console him, if not a help from them to come to his rescue and bail him out of the crisis.

Tollywood producer-cum-actor Bandla Ganesh is going through such a phase right now.

It is a different matter whether or not he has done a mistake, but he has almost gone to the jail on a non-bailable warrant in a cheque bounce case. Somehow, he managed to come out on bail.

Many of his friends in the film industry are understood to have called Bandla Ganesh and expressed their sympathies with him. Some of them reportedly offered him any help that they could do.

According to reliable sources, leading heroes like Ravi Teja and Mahesh Babu had called Bandla Ganesh and expressed their solidarity with him.

A media baron who had earlier been very close to Bandla also made a call to his wife and told her not to worry.

The media house owner even sent his wife to Bandla’s residence to personally call on the latter’s wife and express support to him.

Bandla was happy to find so many friends coming to his support, but what hurt him was lack of response from the Mega family.

He is reported to have expressed his feelings with his friends about how the Mega heroes have ignored him.

“I treated Pawan Kalyan as a god. I have him a big hit like Gabbar Singh, though my earlier film Teen Maar with him brought huge losses to me. But unfortunately, Pawan did not bother to call on me at least once despite knowing that I was being thrown behind the bars,” Bandla is learnt to have commented before his friends.

Bandla might have done a mistake by defaulting on loan repayment or being involved in a cheque bounce case. But it is a fact that he has got into troubles. The least he would expect from his close friends was a courtesy call, if not help.

Apparently, Bandla is said to be planning to release a video soon, explaining his situation, the cheque bounce case and how his own friends had betrayed him.

Hapless Naidu Looks For Help As Leaders Desert

Share

Beleaguered TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is turning hapless with leader after the leader quitting the party.

He is tasting his own medicine of 2016-17, when he encouraged defections from the opposition YSR Congress and took 23 MLAs. He made four of those defectors Ministers ignoring the anti-defection law.

Now, after the humiliating defeat in the 2019 general elections, where his strength was brought down to the 23 members in a 175-member Assembly, Naidu is feeling the heat.

One of his fire-brand MLAs, Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, had quit the party and Assembly. He blamed his haplessness in helping himself and his own cadre from the cases.

He is currently facing some cases of fraudulent house site pattas that he had issued to over 12,000 people in his constituency just before the elections.

As the revenue officials noticed this fraud and filed the cases, he is caught in a Chintamaneni Prabhakar-like situation.

Sources say that chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy did not promise him any relief from the cases even if he defected to the ruling party after resigning to the Assembly.

However, Naidu is finding this situation to turn in his favour and had written to Vamsi promising to stand by him in the crisis created by the YSR Congress.

Naidu had made best use of the suicide of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and is trying to make better use of the cases being filed against the TDP cadre for their crimes.

He is also looking at the possibility of using cases against Vamsi as an issue to fight and get political advantage.

Unfortunately for him, Vamsi refused to be played in the hands of Naidu and had replied that he is firm on his decision to quit the party and Assembly.

While Naidu feels that he is losing an opportunity to fight and get political advantage, Vamsi is not prepared to give him any chance.

Interestingly, Naidu is scheduled to start his three-day tour in Krishna district from October 29 and it is to be seen whether he would start it from Gannavaram or elsewhere!

Pappu is the Scene-stealer: Viral Comments on KRKR

Share

Ram Gopal Varma’s “Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu” (KRKR) is creating a rampage on social media and Youtube.

The trailer that is inching towards 3 million views is trending on top. Additionally, it is attracting a flood of hilarious comments.

The unanimous observation is that Ram Gopal Varma’s genius lies in filming the scene of Babu serving ‘pappu’ (lentils) to his son who often termed ‘Pappu’. This is the real scene-stealer in the nearly 3-minute long trailer.

No wonder then that the majority of comments are about this scene.Bhagavan Modem: “Sir Pappu Scene Maatram Super Bumper….Pappuki vaachipoyi untundi eepatiki.”

Srinivas Korne: “Lokesh Garini Ento Mandi Troll Chesaru Kani Ee Rangelo Evaru Cheyyaledu.”

Rajesh Shervirala: “Pappu scene highlight ga undi RGV garu”

Another comment: “Sir.. the best shot in the trailer is Pappu is served Pappu.. You do make minute things bahubalistic scale..!”

People are also urging Ram Gopal Varma to release the film as early as possible. They are eager to watch it.

“Cinema inkeppudu swami, I am so exciting……….. waiting this movie,” such comments are being tagged to RGV. However, some are complaining that there is no mention of Balakrishna in the trailer. “We are missing balayya character and his love on fans,” a twitter user Krishna posted.

“Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu” is a fictional political story. It is directed by Ram Gopal Varma and Siddharth Thotholu. Featuring newcomers in important characters, the movie trailer has created more noise than the Deepavali crackers made possible.

‘I Don’t Take Pressure Now’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas says she stopped taking pressure when she reached the point where she could call the shots and make choices about the work that she wanted to do.While she ventured into films as an actress, PeeCee has also taken on production in the last few years. Her last outing, The Sky Is Pink, had her on board as a cast member and one of the producers.

When asked if it was stressful to play the dual roles, the actress was quoted as saying, “I took pressure many years ago. Now, I don’t. I think it stopped when I reached a point where I could make choices about the work that I wanted to do, when I didn’t have to depend on people coming to me with work. That sort of shifted not too long ago, just four or five years ago maybe.”

She goes on to state that “unfortunately with female actors, there is a lot of depending on a lot of people to approve before you are cast in a film. It is the truth. That shifted for me just recently. I guess that gave me a sense of confidence to become a producer, to be able to helm films that I wanted to make.”

But she likes to do films that make her feel nervous while going to the set.

“I like movies that challenge me. I like fiction as well as reality-based. I like the immersive experiences, something that will make me nervous coming to set. I like films where I look at my scene and I am like ‘Oh my God! How am I going to do this?’ When your fingers tingle, your toes curl… I like experiences like those,” she asserted.

Dark Diwali for striking Telangana RTC employees

Share

Hyderabad: It was a dark Diwali for over 48,000 employees of Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) as their indefinite strike entered 23rd day on Sunday.

With no signs of an end to the stalemate and they yet to get salaries for September, the “sacked” employees and their families spent the festival of lights in protests in front of the TSRTC depots across the state.

After a low-key Dasara, the drivers, conductors and other employees of the state-owned public utility spent Diwali with no celebrations.

The employees, along with women and children, staged a sit-in on the festival day. Some of the women spoke of the difficulties faced by them in meeting household expenditure. Children said instead of bursting crackers like others, they were forced to sit on protest as their parents have not received salaries.

As Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao already declared that the striking workers ceased to be employees of the TSRTC, they face an uncertain future.

The strike already saw two employees committing suicide due to depression over not getting salaries and the fears of losing the jobs. Leaders of employee unions said six other employees died of cardiac arrest.

The employees are on strike since October 5 to press for their demands including the demand to merge the TSRTC with the government so that they are treated at par with the government employees.

The government termed the strike illegal and ruled out talks with the employees. The Chief Minister even announced on October 6 that those who failed to join duty before the deadline lost their jobs as they dismissed themselves.

On the direction of the Telangana High Court, the TSRTC management on Saturday held talks with the leaders of striking employees but it failed to break the impasse.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the employees’ unions, demanded discussion on all 26 demands, but the TSRTC officials wanted the talks to confine to 21 demands excluding the demand for the TSRTC’s merger with the government. Both sides blamed each other for the talks ending in failure.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday held a meeting with Transport Minister P. Ajay Kumar and senior officials to review the situation.

The TSRTC officials, who held talks with leaders of striking employees on Saturday, briefed the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister discussed with the officials the arguments to be put before the High Court, which is set to resume on Monday hearing of Public Interest Litigations (PILs).

The government is expected to brief the court on the talks held with the employees.

Another petition seeking direction to the TSRTC to pay salaries to the employees for September will be heard on Tuesday.

Both the TSRTC and the government have stated that they have no money to pay salaries. The Chief Minister on Thursday said nobody can save TSRTC from shutting down due to its huge accumulated losses. He claimed that the strike led to loss of another Rs 125-150 crore to the Corporation.

Can Modi dare to go in for simultaneous polls?

Share

Ever since Narendra Modi came to power at the Centre for the first time in 2014, there has been a talk on simultaneous polls across the country.

The strategy was obvious: to make hay while the sun shines. Its plan is to create a Congress-mukth Bharat and see that there will be BJP rule all over the country.

The only point that endorses the BJP’s argument is that simultaneous elections will bring down the election expenditure drastically.

It had no answer to several queries: what will happen if the governments in various states collapse mid-way without completing their five-year term due to fall in majority of the ruling parties on account of defections or dissidence. May be, the BJP had an idea of imposing President’s Rule for the remaining term.

Why alone states, even the Central government would have faced this situation had the BJP not secured absolute majority on its own and had its alliance partners in the NDA pulled rug from under its feet. Same would have been the case with the third front if it had got the razor thin majority.

We had seen how coalition governments of Janata Party, National Front, United Front and NDA had fallen like ninepins without completing their full terms due to rumblings among the alliance partners. So, what will happen if the Centre itself collapses?

Even before answers were found to these questions, nation had gone to general elections in April/May 2019. And Modi who returned to power with a massive mandate has started talking about simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and state elections more vociferously.

Since the NDA gained enough strength in Rajya Sabha and it started getting the bills passed according to their whims and fancies, the situation has arisen to assume that the BJP might bulldoze this move of conducting simultaneous elections.

As a matter of fact, the RSS ideologues do not have faith in the federal system prevailing in India. They strongly desire that India should have a unitary rule in the entire country as was prevailing during the days of emperors.

They argue that the Delhi rulers should implement their agenda uniformly across the country. They don’t agree with the concept of unity in diversity. They strongly advocate a stronger centre with all decision-making authorities and states with nominal powers.

At least in the United States, there is a Congress which can have a check on the powers of President. But the RSS ideologues do not want even such a system here.

Modi belongs to this school of thought. That is precisely why he has been curtailing the powers of the states.

He wants to conduct simultaneous polls in the country, gain ultimate powers on the lines of US President and get the Constitutional amendment done to see that all the major powers are transferred to the states.

He has the ability to convince the people that such a step is required to make India stronger and secure nation.

For that to happen, the BJP has to first win the elections in all the states (or at least in 90 per cent of the states), apart from the Centre. At present, there is no leader who can match up to the stature of Modi in the country. There is no strong opposition party at the national level, except a few regional parties here and there.

Modi now has the support of corporate sector and also the media. There is a strong believe gaining ground in the country that whatever Modi does, it is in the national interest.

If at all anybody counters this argument with facts and figures, he is being branded as anti-national and such an atmosphere is widely prevalent across the country.

So, when everybody was under the impression that there is no better time than this for taking a decision on simultaneous polls, the latest election results gave some kind of a shock to the BJP. It looks certain now that the BJP might have second thoughts on simultaneous polls.

Modi, who spoke extensively over economic development and progress during the 2014 parliament elections, ignored the same in 2019. He brought to the fore a different agenda of hyper-nationalism by raking up issues like Balakot and Pulwama.

He deliberately suppressed the facts and figures with regard to financial position of the country. People had fallen into his trap and gave him more seats.

But after the BJP came back to power again, all the stats with regard to worsening economy of the country came out. Everybody came to know that people have lost their purchasing power and industries had been facing closure.

Yet, Modi and his accomplice Amit Shah strongly believed that they could bring the BJP to power in Maharashtra and Haryana by playing the nationalism card.

Instead of talking about local issues in the assembly elections, they gave extensive lectures on abrogation of Article 370, NRC etc.

Just a day before polling, they sent a message that India would attack on the terror camps in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. Though there were defects in the regional leadership, disgruntlement among the voters, faults in the selection of candidates and disgusting political strategies, they believed that Modi would spin his magic web around the voters.

But, the outcome of the election results proved otherwise. Though it may take some time to make an analysis of the election statistics and the BJP is going to form the governments in both the states somehow or the other, but it is an undeniable fact that the BJP did not get the expected results.

In Haryana, the BJP had won all the 10 MP seats in the Lok Sabha elections and was leading in 79 assembly segments. All the bigwigs in the opposition had to bite the dust and it was expected that the BJP would win not less than 75 out of 90 assembly seats in the assembly elections. But it could win just 40 seats, which is almost half of the assembly segments it had won in Parliament elections. Compared to 2014, it had lost seven seats. What a difference in a span of five months?

Eight of the ministers in Manohar Lal Khattar lost their seats and Haryana BJP president, too, faced defeat. As if to teach a lesson to the BJP which vowed to achief Congress-Mukth Bharat, the Congress party had won 31 seats, 16 seats more than what it got in 2014.

While the BJP roped in stalwarts like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah into the campaign, the Congress had no such star campaigners, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Only local leaders had toiled day and night and won respectable numbers for the party. It clearly showed how the Congress has its vote bank intact at the grassroots level.

The BJP leaders were under the assumption that they had split the Jat community votes, Jananayak Janata Party (JJP) led by young and dynamic leader Dushyant Chautala won a good number of 10 seats.

The BJP leadership was forced to woo the JJP by offering it deputy CM post, besides seven other independent MLAs to form the government with great difficulty.

Coming to Maharashtra, there was a talk that Devendra Fadnavis was ruling the state excellently and his wave coupled with that of Narendra Modi would help the BJP storm the state once again.

To be on the safe side, the BJP entered into an alliance with Shiv Sena and engineered large scale defections from the Congress and NCP, making them virtually empty.

What is more, the BJP created troubles to every leader, starting from NCP chief Sharad Pawar to district-level leaders by foisting cases against them.

The Fadnavis government spent huge money in the name of developmental works to attract the voters. So, the BJP expected to win not less than 250 out of 288 seats, though conservative estimates put the BJP tally at 200-225. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena combine had won 41 out of 48 MP seats, accounting for 220 assembly seats.

But surprisingly, the final tally of the BJP-Sena combine was just 161. The BJP got just 105 out of 164 seats it contested, which is less than 17 seats it got in 2014; and Shiv Sena got just 56 seats (out of 126 seats it contested), seven less than its strength in 2014.

The Congress, which was travelling like a rudder-less ship, got 44 seats, two more than what it won in the last elections. And the NCP, which was completely down in the dumps under the leadership of ageing leader facing several cases, made a remarkable comeback with 54 seats, securing 13 more than what it got in 2014.

Many leaders who had defected from other parties into the BJP faced humiliating defeat. As many as nine ministers in the cabinet of Fadnavis, known for his efficient administration, lost at the hustings.

Taking advantage of their situation, Shiv Sena is now trying to call the shots, though it got just a few seats more than half of the BJP’s tally. It is trying to blackmail the BJP by demanding 50:50 share in power, realising that the former is banking on it for coming to power.

Not just these two states, there is nothing for the BJP to take pride in the by-elections held for 51 assembly seats across the country. It did not win any new seats but on the other hand, it lost a few seats in some places and managed to retain its seats in some other constituencies.

For example, an NCP leader who had won from Satara Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra in May later defected to the BJP, only to lose again in the hands of the NCP candidate. In Gujarat, the home state of Modi and Shah, the Congress won three out of six assembly seats for which by-polls were held.

Alpesh Thakur, who claimed credit for the commendable performance of the Congress in the last assembly elections, defected to the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections and lost to the Congress candidate in the assembly by-polls.

In Bihar, Janata Dal (U) of Nitish Kumar, a close ally of the BJP, faced a big debacle. Out of five assembly seats that went to by-polls in that state, the JD (U) lost four seats, including three of its sitting seats. Two seats were bagged by RJD of Laloo Prasad Yadav and another by an independent. In the fifth seat, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) won.

In Uttar Pradesh, by-elections were held for 11 seats, of which nine belonged to the BJP. But it could win only seven. The Samajwadi Party won two seats. In Rajasthan, the Congress wrested one of the two seats that went to bypolls.

In Punjab, too, the Congress won three seats, while Akali Dal could retain another seat. In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress wrested Jabhua seat from the BJP.

In Kerala, the BJP drew a blank, despite its desperate attempt to capitalise on Sabarimala agitation.

And in Telangana, the BJP which has been claiming to be the only alternative to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, could not get even the deposit in Huzurnagar. In fact, the number of votes polled by the BJP candidate was not even equal to that of a ward member in a panchayat election.

What is the inference one can draw from these election results? It does not mean the opposition parties have grown stronger. The rural electorate wanted to teach a lesson to the BJP and hence, voted even for weaker opposition candidates.

Just like Brihannala enthused a timid Uttara Kumara, who fled the battle field on seeing the mighty army of Kauravas during Uttara Gograhana episode, the voters have breathed a new life into the Congress party which was almost slipping into a comatose state.

If the BJP can understand the thinking of the electorate, it cannot dare go in for simultaneous elections in the near future, at least till the political atmosphere in the country turns in its favour.

Opinion: Nothing But A Liability

Share

The resignation of TDP MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan to the Assembly and the TDP comes as no surprise, especially after his recent meet with YS Jagan.

Although Vamsi has stated that he is quitting politics temporarily, it is only a matter of time before he joins the YSRCP or BJP.

Apparently, Vamsi had told YS Jagan that he was willing to resign as MLA.

It is a precondition of the YSRCP that all defectors resign from their Assembly membership before joining his Party.

However, in Vamsi’s case, there is vehement opposition to his entry into the YSRCP from the YSRCP leaders of Gannavaram. Therefore, the temporary sabbatical from politics until Jagan works something out for him.

But, the entry of Vamsi Mohan into the YSRCP or any Party for that matter will not result in any value addition for the Party.

A showman with a penchant for staying in the news, Vamsi Mohan has the knack of courting the company of those with criminal records or families that have a history of violence.

Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, the son of Vangaveeti Ranga is a close friend of Vamsi Mohan and they are business partners as well.

Similarly, Vamsi Mohan approached Maddelacheruvu Suri and offered his assistance to Suri in helping to kill Paritala Ravi.

Having gained Suri’s confidence, he allegedly provided all the details of Suri’s planning to Paritala Ravi which led to many of Suri’s men being killed.

Is it any wonder then that Vamsi Mohan was high on the list of Suri?

After the Congress came to power, many of Paritala’s men went underground. Vamsi Mohan led to Dubai and came back only after the situation had normalized.

Notorious or picking up spats, he had public spats with Devineni Nehru and top cop Seetharamanjaneyulu.

He was also said to be instrumental in provoking his relative MRO Vanajakshi against Chintamaneni Prabhakar after difference cropped up between them over sand mining.

As long as Suri was alive, Vamsi Mohan did not have the courage to face him but made highly derogatory comments about Suri after the latter was killed.

He used to call himself a close aide of Paritala Ravi and even named his son after him but Chaman, Paritala’s right hand man himself declared that Vamsi Mohan was not an aide, only an admirer who used to turn up occasionally to meet Ravi.

Nevertheless Vamsi Mohan allegedly amassed a lot of properties using Ravi’s name and he was also considered a benami of Ravi.

Paritala Sunitha, Ravi’ widow apparently took back all Ravi’s properties in Vamsi Mohan’s name when she visited Gannavaram en route to Vijayawada for TDP Mahanadu.

Even though he was in the TDP, he frequently caused consternation to Chandrababu Naidu with his controversies and threats of leaving the Party.

Despite calling himself as a hardcore Paritala Ravi fan, he had no problem in hugging YS Jagan and interacting with him frequently much to the dismay of his community and Paritala fans.

All this makes Vamsi Mohan out to be a rank opportunist without any inherent values. As such, his entry into the YSRCP will be nothing but a huge liability for the Party.
