Pre Sales: Sye Raa Sets American Box Office On Fire

Share

Sye Raa is a week away from hitting the screens and it has been creating ripples at North America box office already.

Pre-sales of Sye Raa are showing terrific trends and a million plus premiere gross is on cards as of now. The pre-sales have already gone past $150K mark, which is fantabulous by any yardstick.

Sye Raa will be premiered on Tuesday and it will get benefited by one plus one offers.

Interestingly, Chiranjeevi’s previous film Khaidi No. 150 was also released on Tuesday and has set a new record for Non-Baahubali premieres at that time.

Megastar’s star power is at display again as the curiosity around the magnum opus is much bigger compared to his last outing.

Releasing on a public holiday will ensure Sye Raa to take an earth shattering opening at the box office. Sky is the limit for opening day collections in Telugu States.

Even United States also looks to be exceeding expectations and the premieres numbers of all the recent releases.

Bigg Boss: He Cannot Escape From Eviction This Week

Share

Ravi Krishna has been nominated along with top contenders of the season and it looks almost certain that he would get evicted this week.

Ravi Krishna escaped nominations last week as ‘Shiva Jyothi’ cut her hair to save him from nominations. Later Vithika pulled off a trick and has put Himaja ahead of Ravi Krishna that extended his stay for another week.

Getting nominated along with big players and crowd favorites like Varun Sandesh, Baba Bhaskar and Srimukhi has put Ravi Krishna in danger.

He would get the votes of Television serial fans and Shiva Jyothi supporters, but getting nominated along with his ‘group’ members like Srimukhi and Baba is not good news.

Even the voting trends put Ravi Krishna at the bottom and he doesn’t seem to be doing something that can put him back in contention.

Meanwhile, Baba Bhaskar is fast losing his popularity. He used to top the voting tables even when Varun and Srimukhi were in nominations. But Varun Sandesh has become so strong while Srimukhi is still holding on to her fan base while Baba’s graph is coming down.

Given the trend, he could also get eliminated if he is nominated along with Varun, Rahul and Srimukhi.

CBI to take up first case in Jagan regime

Share

A few months before the April 11 assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, the then Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu barred the entry of Central Bureau of Investigation into the state to take up any investigation.

The Naidu government issued an order (GO Ms No. 176) on November 8, 2018, withdrawing general consent to the CBI in the State.

Apparently, Naidu feared that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre might order a CBI investigation into the acts of omission and commission during his regime, as it was doing against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s political opponents in other states.

The TDP faced a humiliating defeat in the assembly elections in the hands of YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

And within a week of assuming charge as the chief minister, Jagan issued a fresh government order (GO MS No. 81 dated June 6, 2019), restoring the general consent to the CBI to take up investigations in the state.

The urgency with which Jagan revoked the earlier GO and restored the general consent to the CBI gave an impression that he would unleash the CBI to investigate into the corruption and other irregularities by the previous Naidu government immediately.

But nothing has happened in the last three months. The CBI did not take up a single case in Andhra Pradesh. And finally, it could find one case – that of illegal mining of limestone allegedly indulged in by former TDP MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao from Gurajala.

The Jagan government decided to call for a CBI inquiry into Yarapathineni’s alleged illegal deals, that too, after the state high court gave its approval.

On August 26, the high court asked the state government whether it is interested in referring the case to the CBI or not.

Now, the state government referred the case to the Centre, requesting that the CBI be allowed to probe the case.

The State government-owned CID has already conducted an initial enquiry into the charges against Yarapathineni. The report is now available with the State government.

If the Central government gives its nod, the CBI would be entering the State for the first time after a gap of 11 months.

Watch: Mangalagiri MLA dares Lingamaneni for debate

Share

In a swift move, Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, threw an open challenge to industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh to come for debate on the legality of his building on the river Krishna flood bank.

The fire-brand MLA discounted the claims of Ramesh that the building has permissions, which were not valid.

He also recalled that Chandrababu Naidu, as chief minister had claimed that the building was given to the government in land pooling and wondered how the same persons were claiming it as private building.

He wanted the industrialist to clarify whether his statement in 2015 about giving his building for the government was true or his claims of own building now were true.

He also wanted Chandrababu Naidu to clarify whether the building was taken over by the government in land pooling or it was leased to him as being claimed now.

Ramakrishna Reddy further said that Lingamaneni Ramesh was claiming a letter of 2011 was sent to the government seeking permission for his building. The signature of the 2011 letter does not match the signature on the open letter sent to chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday.

The Mangalagiri MLA accused Lingamaneni Ramesh of indulging in massive corruption in the last government after giving the building to Chandrababu Naidu.

The MLA threatened to produce the statements and video footage of both Lingamaneni Ramesh and Chandrababu Naidu on the ownership of the buildings in 2015.

He also wanted the industrialist to come for open debate with him to disprove his claims on the building – both ownership and legality.

He cautioned Lingamaneni Ramesh and Chandrababu Naidu not to mislead people on the legality of the building by making false claims.

No one can touch Ramoji till Modi-Amit Shah rule India!

Share

One can easily identify the difference how Eenadu daily is going aggressively against YSRCP governement in AP and TRS government in Telangana, after Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are ruling India for the second term with an absolute majority in recent Lok Sabha polls.

Eenadu is publishing anti-Jagan and anti-KCR stories in top headlines these days.

Yet no one from YSRCP or TRS are speaking against Eenadu or its owner Ramoji Rao.

While YSRCP and TRS leaders are lashing out at ABN Andhra Jyothy owner Radhakrishna for publishing anti-government stories, they are keeping mum on Eenadu or Ramoji Rao, which is also publishing the same stories.

Radhakrishna is being attacked for spreading false news on question paper leak pertaining to ward/gram secretariat posts etc, but Eenadu is being spared, which is also publishing the same stories.

The buzz in media circles is that Ramoji Rao has emerged much stronger than KCR and Jagan, especially after Modi-Amit Shah duo is ruling the country with absolute majority since May 2019.

Everyone knows about Ramoji’s clout in BJP and also his ‘influence’ on Modi and Amit Shah.

It is being said Ramoji is one of the very very few media barons in India today who have ‘direct access’ to Modi and Amit Shah and can speak to them directly over phone at any given time.

In this backdrop, both KCR and Jagan are keeping utmost silence on Ramoji and Eenadu, despite publishing false news on their governments.

Ramoji knows very well that no body can touch him till Modi-Amit Shah duo rule the country as KCR and Jagan are not brave enough to confront him with a fear of Modi and Amit Shah.

Telugu comedian Venu Madhav is no more

Hyderabad: Popular Telugu comedian Venu Madhav, who starred in over 150 films, breathed his last on Wednesday. The 51-year-old succumbed to kidney-related ailments here at a private hospital.

According to industry sources, Madhav was undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital for two weeks and was discharged on Sunday. He was reportedly advised to undergo kidney transplantation.

“He was discharged on Sunday, but his family brought him back on Tuesday afternoon after his condition worsened. He was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit and was put on life support. He passed away around 12.20 on Wednesday,” a source at the hospital told IANS.

Born in Suryapet, Madhav began his career as a mimicry artiste. Recognised by for talent to mimic any voice and a great humour sense, he made his acting debut with the 1996 Telugu film “Samapradayam”.

He went on to star in several popular Telugu films including “Master”, “Tholi Prema”, “Nuvve Nuvve”, “Yuvaraju”, “Dil”, aceSimhadri” and “Arya”.

In 2016, Madhav made his last screen appearance in “Dr. Paramanandaiah Students”. Over the past couple of years, he was down on health and rarely made a public appearance.

Madhav even dabbled in politics for a while. He campaigned for Telugu Desam Party in recent elections.

Surender Reddy Interview: Am Fortunate to Get a Producer like Ram Charan

Share

The hype around Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy” has reached to the zenith.

As the countdown begins for the movie’s release, we caught up with director Surender Reddy to get all the dope about this period drama.

He shares all the vignettes about the making of this Rs 250 Cr budgeted magnum opus.

The budget is not hype at all, he asserts.

“To narrate this period drama, we felt that it needs high standards of production design and visuals. To recreate the bygone era, it needed a lot of money. The younger audiences expect Hollywood standard visuals. Thus this film has become high-budgeted. We didn’t invest money for the sake of it,” he explained.

Giving further insight, he said, “there is a huge war sequence that we shot in Georgia for 60 days. 30 days were for preparation and 30 days for the actual shoot. But more than 1000 members were always present during those 60 days. And we have used about 1000 horses. About Rs 70 Cr was spent on this episode alone.”

Historical dramas often face criticism for the distortion of facts. But Surender Reddy says they didn’t deviate from the history.

“Everything you see in the film is there in history. This is a realistic film but scenes are dramatized,” he explains.

He also said that he changed the screenplay of the story that was originally written by Parachuri Brothers.

Whose decision was it to rope in Pawan Kalyan for the voiceover in the film?

“It was Chiranjeevi sir’s idea. I proposed a couple of names for the voiceover narration in each language version but for the Telugu version, it was Chiranjeevi’s idea to use Pawan Kalyan’s voice. His voice will be heard in the film at the begging of the movie and the climax part.”

Surender Reddy thanks Megastar Chiranjeevi for trusting his capabilities and lending support all through. However, he praises more Ram Charan the producer.

“I am fortunate to have a producer like Ram Charan for this mammoth project. He stood by me and provided me everything on a platter – money, the artistes, the technical support,” he said.

Prabhas Left for Paris to Avoid the Pressure?

Share

There had been a talk for a long time that Prabhas might be roped in for promotion of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Sye Raa” in the Bollywood market.

Since Prabhas has tremendous craze in the North Indian market, which was quite evident with the success of his recent release ‘Saaho’ in Hindi, Ram Charan thought of requesting Prabhas as the guest for an event in North India. They have been very good friends and also partners in some businesses.

But now, suddenly Prabhas went on a vacation in Europe. Reports say that he might return to Hyderabad only in the first week of October. By then “Sye Raa” would hit the screens.

This is the reason why people started suspecting that Prabhas might have gone on a vacation suddenly only to avoid the promotion of “Sye Raa”.

Prabhas has huge respect towards Megastar Chiranjeevi and he keeps on talking about the megastar with reverence.

He even said in his recent interview that ‘Sye Raa’ is the pride of Telugu cinema and his ‘Saaho’ should not be compared with that film.

Then why would he avoid the promotion of this movie in the North Indian market?

Probably he doesn’t want to face the media at this juncture as journalists would throw many uncomfortable questions about “Saaho” and other issues.

If this the genuine reason, there is nothing to fault Prabhas.

Why Telangana land for Andhra seer?

Share

The allotment of two acres of prime land at Kokapet in Hyderabad at a nominate rate of Rs 1 per acre to Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham headed by Swamy Swaroopanandendra Sarsawati got into a legal wrangle.

A social activist Veera Swamy on Tuesday filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the Telangana High Court, challenging the decision of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao to allot two acres of prime government land to religious Saradha Peetham in Hyderabad.

The chief minister recently handed over the documents to Swaroopanandendra Swamy giving possession of the land situated in Kokapet village in Gandipet mandal, following a cabinet decision taken in June this year.

It is learnt the land can fetch a base market price of Rs 1.5 crore per acre, but was given to Sarada Peetham at a nominal rate of Re 1 per acre.

Veera Swamy pointed out that the land was classified as ‘Poramboku’ and the state government was its custodian.

The petitioner argued that the government had no right to simply give away the land, which belonged to the public. He also pointed out that the beneficiary was a private citizen.

“If the government wants it for religious purposes, it could have allotted it to TTD or to the Yadagiri Laxminarasimha Swamy temple or to any such other temple owned and controlled by the state government,” the petitioner said.

The case is expected to come up for hearing on September 25.

KCR had faced flak from all quarters for his move to allocate government land to a private religious institution, purely based on his personal religious beliefs.

Swami Swaroopanandendra Saraswati thus enjoys the patronage of the CMs of both Telugu states as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is also known to visit the seer frequently, in Visakhapatnam.

No Politics In KCR, Jagan Talks?

Share

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had a lengthy meeting on Monday night at KCR’s official bungalow Pragathi Bhavan.

The meeting lasted nearly four hours and naturally, it would generate a lot of curiosity among the people as to what they would have discussed.

The official statements from both the chief minster’s offices revealed that they had a fruitful discussion on the proposed project of diverting Godavari waters to Krishna basin at a minimum expenditure and least land acquisition, but that would fetch maximum benefits to both the states.

They also discussed issues pending to be resolved between both the states, training to police personnel etc.

There were also reports about KCR appreciating the concept of reverse tendering adopted by Jagan.

So far so good. But when two politicians, that too chief ministers of two neighbouring states, meet, it is nothing but natural to discuss the political situation in both the states.

Apparently, Jagan is understood to have explained to KCR how the TDP was creating a big nuisance in Andhra Pradesh on issues like Amaravati, Polavaram, Krishna floods and Kodela Sivaprasad suicide etc. And KCR appreciated the firm stand taken by YSRC in dealing with the opposition.

At the same time, the TRS president also explained to Jagan how the Bharatiya Janata Party has turned out be an irritant factor for his party in Telangana.

While the Congress has been completely crushed beyond the scope of revival, the TRS is facing a nuisance from the BJP, KCR reportedly told Jagan.

KCR is also learnt to have asked as to what was happening to the river front house of Naidu, where he had the lunch in 2015, when he attended the Amaravati Foundation Stone ceremony.

These are natural issues that would come up for discussion when two chief ministers meet after a long time.

So, such speculations can be harmless!

Being industrialist doesn’t justify to own illegal house

Share

Industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh reportedly written an open letter to Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, which was highlighted by a section of the Telugu media, on the government’s move to demolish his house built on the banks of river Krishna.

The building is the one in which former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu resides since 2015 and to which the AP Capital Region Development Authority had issued demolition notice on Monday giving one-week time.

The APCRDA is gearing up to proceed with the demolition of the building as it was constructed in violation of the river conservation laws, forcing Chandrababu Naidu to vacate it before the building is reduced to debris.

However, Ramesh, in his open letter said that the building was constructed with due permissions from the village panchayat and the irrigation officials, though the APCRDA says that those permissions are not legally valid and were not given for the construction a building, but a dress changing room.

Ramesh said that he had been an industrialist in the city and executed several projects adding infrastructure to the city. He listed the projects that he had executed in the city and elsewhere as industrialist.

He claimed that he had offered his house to the then chief minister as a true citizen of the State, which was bifurcated against the wish of the majority people.

He had been working for the development of the State and the notices for his building have caused pain to his family.

But, the big question is, whether being an industrialist justify him to own an illegal and unauthorised building?

Crazy Sentiment Troubling Makers Of Sarileru and Ala!

Share

Even superstars with huge fan base have silly sentiments when it comes to release dates.

We all know that content is the king and any movie with good content would click irrespective of when it releases. But our stars believe in sentiments than the script and its execution no matter how silly they seem.

Two big ticket movies are going to clash at the ticket windows for coming Sankranthi.

Mahesh Babu starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikuntapuramulo starring Allu Arjun will release for Sankranthi.

There wouldn’t be much gap between the two releases according to trade sources. But which movie is going to come first?

Makers and Lead actors of either films are not willing to release their film first because of a bad sentiment.

First film that comes out for Sankranthi is turning out to be a dud according to the recent trend.

1 Nenokkadine, Agnyathavasi, NTR Kathanayakudu and a few other films that released first among the Sankranthi films ended up as disasters.

Hence, Mahesh and Allu Arjun both are not ready to bite the bullet and it has become troublesome for its makers to find a way that pleases both the parties.
