Why KCR is talking about dogs and tails?

Share

Telangana CM KCR has been talking about dogs and tails to express his ire at government employees.

KCR is angry at the government employees especially revenue staff for planning to go on strike if he abolishes revenue department or VRO system in Telangana.

KCR is arguing that employees duty is to follow the orders of the owner (government) and they cannot dictate government what to do.

KCR says whatever government orders, the employees have to obey and there is no other option.

In this backdrop KCR is talking about dogs and tails saying that “Dog should move the tail and tail should not move the dog”.

KCR is comparing government with a dog and employees with a tail.

So far so good, but KCR should realise that if the same dog and tail policy was adopted by CMs in Undivided AP, could the Telangana employees were able to fight for Telangana state, go on strike, participate in Sakula Janalu Samme for over 40 days and stop RTC buses completely for 40 days.

KCR himself praised the role of Telangana employees in statehood agitation and gave them Telangana special increment after Telangana state was formed and he became CM in 2014.

Now, if the employees want to go on strike against the dictatorial attitude of CM, KCR is threatening them with dog and tail stories.

KCR had earlier said its the right of employees to protest and fight for their cause.

But KCR now doesn’t like employees to fight against him and he wants them to simily obey his orders or face ouster.

Himaja Exposes Bigg Boss’s Dirty Tactics!

Share

Himaja may not be one of the strongest contenders among the Bigg Boss Season 3 contestants, but she has been evicted earlier than a few other weak contestants just because of the tactics of Bigg Boss.

She is dejected with the way she has been evicted.

“I am happy that I survived for sixty days, but I am not happy with the way I was eliminated,” she told.

According to Himaja, the editors of Bigg Boss are playing game with the footage and making some contestants look good and others bad.

“They wanted Mahesh to be in the eliminations no matter what and hence they disqualified my sacrifice for him,” she told.

“They edited out the bit where Bigg Boss called me again and said that Varun has to completely lie down in the cow dung, which made me look bad to the viewers,” Himaja said.

She claimed that the organisers of Bigg Boss said that they did their best to save her after she got eliminated.

“How can they even say that? What does it mean? They tried to save me now because they want someone else to be evicted. Doesn’t that mean they would do the same for some other strong contestant when they are in nominated along with me?” Himaja is providing more spice for YouTube channels and TV channels with her no-nonsense talk.

SC slaps notices on top IAS officer in AP

Share

Supreme Court on Monday served notices on senior IAS officer in Andhra Pradesh Adityanath Das in connection with an Enforcement Directorate case involving YSR Congress party president and present chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Das is presently special chief secretary (irrigation) and has played a major role in reverse tendering of the Polavaram project works.

Das is one of the senior IAS officers who were booked in these quid pro quo cases in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.

The ED has alleged that Das, who was principal secretary in the irrigation department during Y S Rajasekhar Reddy government, had helped India Cements by giving additional water to the firm, while ignoring similar requests of other cement companies.

It is alleged that India Cements had reciprocated Das’ favour by investing in Jagan’s business empire.

The Hyderabad High Court in February 2018 had dropped the cases against the officer as the issues were cleared by the chief engineer first and the irrigation minister later. The High Court agreed with the arguments of the counsel for Das and dismissed the case giving him relief.

However, as the ED approached the Supreme Court, which issued notices to Das on Monday.

The ED and the CBI treated these cases under money laundering act and booked Jagan Reddy in disproportionate assets case. He was later sent to jail and released after 16 months.

Senior IAS officer Srilakshmi was jailed for several months in these cases, while other officers like B P Acharya and Adityanath Das were given relief by the High Court in the past.

Senior bureaucrats, K Rathna Prabha, Manmohan Singh, B Sam Bob, M Samuel, C V S K Sarma and S V Prasad were accused in this case, besides Srilakshmi, Adityanath Das and Acharya.

The then Congress ministers, P Sabita Indra Reddy, J Geetha Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and Dharmana Prasada Rao too faced the CBI cases in this regard.

Prasthanam Bombs at Bollywood

Share

Director Deva Katta has failed to make a mark in Bollywood in his debut attempt. His first film “Prassthanam”, a remake of the Telugu movie by the same name, hit the screens last Friday.

The Bollywood movie starring Sanjay Dutt didn’t even rake in a respectable amount. The film has collected mere Rs 3 crore nett in three days. This is the total figure from all theaters in India.

The Telugu director shot to fame with “Vennela” and critically acclaimed “Prasthanam”. The latter brought him a lot of name and fame.

Immensely impressed with his dialogue writing, S S Rajamouli roped in him to pen some dialogues for “Baahubali”.

However, he has not seen any success further. His much-hyped “Autonagar Surya” with Naga Chaitanya and Samantha was a miserable show. The failure of this movie has changed his career.

Now, Katta’s Bollywood debut also bombed at the box office. His only hope now is placed on the web series of “Baahubali”. He co-directed this web series for Netflix along with Praveen Sattaru.

Yellow media spits venom on KCR-Jagan meet again!

Share

Yellow media, which is desperate to create rift between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and between CMs of TS and AP, KCR and YS Jagan, has now made a fresh attempt to create rift between Telugu States and the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

Eenadu daily carried a banner story today stating that “Jagan, KCR are upset at Centre’.

Eenadu tried to project the meeting between KCR and Jagan held at Pragathi Bhavan yesterday as a meeting to discuss on how to take on PM Modi and the Central government, who are showing discrimination against Telugu States.

While the meeting was held by KCR with Jagan with the main agenda of linking Krishna and Godavari rivers, diversion of Godavari water to Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects for the mutual benefit of AP and Telangana, Eenadu twisted this as a ‘political meeting’ to conspire against Modi and the Centre.

Though Telangana CMO issued an official press release over what transpired between both the CMs, Eenadu ignored it.

Telangana CMO clearly stated that both the CMs discussed about Godavari water diversion, resolution of pending bifurcation related issues etc, Eenadu with a vested interest to create rift between Modi and Telugu States, cooked up a false political story and published it prominently as a banner item.

AP Chief Minister’s Office was quick to respond condemning Eenadu’s fake news on KCR-Jagan meeting.

It issued a statement clarifying that no political issues were discussed in the meeting and only the issue of Godavari water diversion and pending bifurcation issues betweeen TS and AP were discussed.

It codemned Eenadu’s news report published with a malafide intention.

Yellow media is still unable to digest the yellow party losing power in AP and also losing its existense completely in Telangana.

With no scope left to create rift between Jagan and KCR as both are working for the mutual benefit of both the Telugu States, the yellow media in now trying to project as if Jagan and KCR ganged up to fight against Modi and Centre.

Megha Krishna Reddy, A Man Of All Parties!

Share

When the YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that the award of contract for Polavaram irrigation and hydro-power projects works to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), it came as no surprise to anybody.

For, MEIL chairman and managing director P V Krishna Reddy has the knack of bagging huge contracts irrespective of the political parties that are in power in the Telugu states.

He doesn’t mind quoting very less rates to wrest the contracts from others, as he has done in the case of Navayuga Engineering in Polavaram works, as he knows how to compensate the losses at a later stage by bagging more works from the government.

Megha Engineering was originally founded by a farmer P P Reddy in 1989 to do small contracts of building pipes for municipalities.

He soon expanded into building infrastructure projects such as dams, natural gas distribution networks, power plants and roads, thanks to his nephew Krishna Reddy, who entered the company in 1991.

Krishna Reddy shot into limelight during the Congress government headed by Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who had launched Jalayagnam, an irrigation mission of taking up several irrigation projects at a time.

Considered to be closer to YSR’s friend K V P Ramachandra Rao, he was the biggest beneficiary of Jalayagnam and made big money through irrigation contracts those days.

After the bifurcation of combined AP, he made friends with both Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in Telangana headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Krishna Reddy bagged the multi-thousand crore Mission Bhagiratha project in Telangana and also Rs 1500 crore Pattiseema project on Godavari river in Andhra.

The massive contract he had got was Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme in Telangana, which is worth nearly Rs one lakh crore at the present rates.

He was felicitated by both Naidu and KCR on several occasions.

Now, he has become closer to Jagan Mohan Reddy as well and managed to bag the contract for Polavaram by quoting Rs 780 crore less than the actual tender value!

Why was Jagan delayed in meeting KCR?

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was supposed to have a meeting with his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter’s camp office Pragathi Bhavan at 11.30 am to discuss the Godavari-Krishna linkage project and other issues.

According to the original schedule, Jagan was to leave his Tadepalli residence by 9.30 am by helicopter to Gannnavaram airport from where he was to take a special flight to reach Begumpet airport in Hyderabad by 11 am.

After a brief rest at Lotus Pond, he was expected to arrive at Pragathi Bhavan by 11.45 am.

But, Jagan could not start from his residence even till afternoon.

According to reliable sources, there were some problems with his official helicopter and the same was intimated to him. The officials told him that the chopper was facing some landing problems.

Naturally, Jagan was agitated as his meeting with KCR had to be postponed.

In fact, he experienced a similar problem with his chopper during his aerial survey of flood affected areas in Nandyal in Kurnool district a couple of days ago. There also, the chopper had some issues during the landing.

One wonders how the officials of the state aviation academy be so callous in avoiding technical snags in the chief minister’s chopper, especially after experienced an unfortunate situation in which Jagan’s father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy died in the chopper crash 10 years ago.

Apparently, the aviation officials did not take enough precautions before arranging the official helicopter to Jagan.

As per the protocol, landing details should be given in the form of degrees, minutes and seconds, but the officers are not following the rules creating problems.

The CMO has directed the Kurnool collector to conduct an inquiry into the incident and Kurnool DRM Venkateswaran as appointed as an investigation officer, sources said.

Polavaram re-tendering: Andhra claims Rs 780 cr saving

Share

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday claimed that it saved Rs 780 crore public money through re-tendering of Polavaram project work.

After cancelling the contract awarded by previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the new government headed by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier this month called fresh tenders for hydel power plant and main concrete works worth Rs 4,987 crore.

Officials said the fresh contract is awarded to Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), which came up with a proposal, costing 12.6 per cent less than an earlier contract. The MEIL bid for the works for Rs 4,358 crore. The government saved Rs 628 crore through this re-tendering.

Additional saving for an amount of Rs.152 crore was realized in Part-B (PIP Hydro Electric Project). Thus overall saving is around Rs 780 crore.

The chief engineer of the Polavaram project told the water resource department that to conduct the reverse tendering process, at least two bidders were required. As only one bidder participated, there was no provision for initiating the reverse tendering process.

This was the first reverse tendering called by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government since deciding to review all the major contracts awarded by the previous government and in cases where irregularities were committed, go for reverse tendering.

The government claims that reverse tendering enabled participation by a large number of bidders, thus ensuring transparency and bring down the cost by awarding the project to the lowest bidder.

The TDP, however, denied that any irregularities were committed in awarding the contracts. It said the government’s action would lead to delay in executing the projects.
