Venkayya Appreciates Mahesh’s Maharshi!
From a long time, Telangana’s former IT Minister KTR is the best know film reviewer from political circles and now, it looks like none other than Vice-President of India has joined this battalion. Yes, India’s VP Venkaiaha Naidu has now tweetded about a film.
Praising Mahesh Babu, director Vamsi Paidipally to the sky, the Vice President’s official handle has today tweeted about the movie Maharshi. “With a rural theme, a film that highlights the need for farm conservation and support for the elderly, Maharshi is a remarkable film that everyone needs to watch. It highlights the greatness of the rural population and the importance of agriculture”, the tweet read. Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Mahesh for his acting, and Vamsi for his brilliant direction.
Reacting on the same, Mahesh Babu tweeted back, “Sir.. This is such an honour for me personally & our whole team… it can’t get better than this. Thank you Sir, your words have inspired us to keep doing more films like “Maharshi”.. on behalf of Team Maharshi… humbled, Sir (sic)”.
What did Naidu achieve from cabinet meet?
After making a hue and cry over the alleged highhanded behaviour of the Election Commission for not allowing him to hold official meetings, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu finally held the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, after getting the official nod from the EC.
But what did Naidu achieve from the meeting, after all? The answer is nothing.
According to sources, it was more or less like a send-off meeting for Naidu and all the officials had a hearty talk with him during the two-hour long meeting.
Of course, the officials made routine presentations on issues like drinking water crisis in the state, drought conditions, employment generation programmes and impact of Fani cyclone.
And Naidu as usual gave routine instructions to ensure that people were not put to inconvenience.
He also used the opportunity to express his helplessness for not doing any work due to model code of conduct. Occasionally, he said: “good, good” and “good job. I appreciate you.”
Since there are no way Naidu could approve any financial releases, it was a routine official meeting, rather than a regular cabinet meeting where policy decisions are taken. There was not much discussion on any of the subject.
The highlight of the cabinet meeting was exchange of pleasantries between Naidu and Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam, who had not been getting along well with the former for quite some time.
Both of them were seen talking to each other and laughing heartily, as if they patched up their differences.
All the officials of the departments concerned and Naidu’s cabinet colleagues took part in the meeting.
The chief minister has thanked the officials for cooperating with him in the last five years and hoped that he would work together with them for another five years.

A Day After KCR-Stalin Meeting, DMK Leader In Amaravati
With less than 10 days to go for the poll results, the tide of Indian politics is flowing in multiple directions. In a high-stakes game, both BJP and anti-BJP groups have involved in a serious business to weave an appropriate team ahead of results. But, the differences between two Telugu Chief Ministers (KCR and Nara Chandrababu Naidu) is catching everyone’s attention.
KCR, who began to extensively concentrate on national politics from last year, was one of the first politicians to speak about anti-BJP, anti-Congress government at the Centre, and referred it as ‘Federal Front’ – which is highly uncertain now. As part of ‘Federal Front’ plan, he reached out to some of the major regional party heads in the nation – West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik. Freshly, after the polls, he knocked the doors of Kerala CM Vijayan and DMK Chief Stalin.
Having taken a keen observation at poll trends, KCR seems to be leaning towards Congress by meetings its allies. But, there’s a catch here. Most of the leaders, who KCR reached out to, are in good equation with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and they reiterated their loyalties to him even after meeting KCR.
Going back to December 2018, a day after KCR met Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneshwar, he sent an official letter to Naidu with his party MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik. The letter carried a clear support to Naidu and to the anti-BJP government in Delhi. Later, Mamata Banerjee too casted off KCR’s invitation for the ‘Federal Front’. In fact, she was never gravitated to KCR’s call. They always were suspecting that KCR’s efforts for Federal Front were only to rescue Narendra Modi and bring him back to power. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was successful in establishing his pitch and made right moves to isolate the efforts of KCR.
Now, in less than 24 hours after his meeting with KCR, DMK chief Stalin too made his party senior Durai Murugan to drop at Naidu’s office in Amaravati on Tuesday. Political reports are indicating that Murugan summarized the KCR-Stalin meeting details to Babu. Stalin, reportedly, turned down KCR’s request to take a stand against both Congress and BJP. In fact, the DMK chief was never ready to drop out of UPA.
Allu Arjun’s Aggressive Team Stuns Top TV Channel
Apparently, a top TV channel that is in the news recently for its dabbling of directors, has today got nailed by Allu Arjun’s fans for their logic-less satire on the star hero. In no time, the channel has not only deleted those tweets but also removed that video from their social media page.
Saying that Allu Arjun has gone to Switzerland for a holiday, the channel apparently questioned what will happen to the films he has agreed to do. One wonders why they questioned that way because Bunny is taking only a break but hasn’t escaped to the Swiss alps forever.

Even after a week after the film’s release, Mahesh is making sure that the movie will get huge attention from all quarters by his acts. Whether his parties to friends and family or his continuous promotion of the movie on TV channels, the Superstar made sure that he will not ditch the movie after the release.
While he’s supposed to leave for a holiday from May 19th, we hear that there will be many promotions happening before that. He will be not only visiting theatres in RTC Crossroads after ages, but he also wants to record some more interviews for promotion.
Such an aggressive promotion for two weeks post the release will not only help the film reach more audiences but will mint more money. Had the content been a bit better, this promotion would have taken Maharshi to next level, opines critics.

Will take Congress’ support if needed: TRS
In a surprise statement a day after Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao met DMK Chief M.K. Stalin in Chennai, the party has said that the Federal Front of regional parties is open to taking support from the Congress to form a government at the Centre. However, it sounded a caution saying that it would not allow the Congress to rule over the pink party or override its decisions.
Making the statement today, TRS spokesperson Abid Rasool Khan today said: “KCR (as Rao is popularly known as) is very firm that the Federal Front should be in the driver’s seat and run the government,” without ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the Congress which could be crucial for the party. He added that “But, the government would be of the federal front and Congress will have to extend support from outside.”
Stating the terms and conditions of the Federal Front, he said that the “Prime Minister’s post should go to one of the constituents of the Federal Front. The prime ministerial candidate will be a consensus candidate from among the constituents (of the Federal Front),” Khan elaborated, adding that the Pink party is open to talks with the Congress and take it forward.
“We are open to talk to them (Congress), and see whether they support us to form government. If they do, regional parties are not averse as long as they (Congress) don’t come into the driver’s seat,” he said, speaking to a news agency today.

Taapsee: ‘All men are a**h*les but Vicky is the best’
Mumbai: Actress Taapsee Pannu shares a close bond with actor Vicky Kaushal, and says he is “marriage material”.
Taapsee expressed her views when she appeared on “BFFs with Vogue – Season 3” along with Vicky. The show is aired on Colors Infinity, read a statement.

Federal Front may consider taking Cong support: TRS
Hyderabad: The Federal Front proposed by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao may consider taking Congress support, if necessary, to form a government at the Centre, a leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) said on Tuesday.
TRS spokesman Abid Rasool Khan told IANS that they were confident that the Federal Front, comprising non-BJP and non-Congress parties, will get the numbers to form the government on its own.
“We are confident that we will get the numbers to form the government but if we are short of numbers and Congress wants to extend outside support we will consider,” said Khan, who believes a consensus candidate among Federal Front partners will be the next Prime Minister.
He, however, ruled out either taking the support of BJP or extending support to it to form the government.
KCR, as Rao is popularly known, had mooted the idea of non-BJP and non-Congress front last year and since held talks with leaders of various regional parties.
The TRS chief on Monday met M.K. Stalin, leader of DMK, an ally of the Congress, to discuss the Federal Front. Last week, he held talks with his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan.
“These meetings prompted the whole country to talk about the Federal Front. We are meeting people, talking to them and trying to explain why we want this. After that it is their choice whether they want to come with us or not,” said Khan, who quit the Congress late last year.
He was confident that parties like Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Trinamool Congress and YSR Congress besides TRS will come together to form the Federal Front. He hoped that many parties from other parts of the country will join them.
“Once we have the numbers on board, more people will definitely accept the idea and join us. Everybody would want to have stake in government for development of their states and would see this as a viable idea,” said Khan.
The TRS leader claimed that KCR was not vying for the post of Prime Minister.
“He is doing this in the interest of the country. The country is today heading towards anarchy. The way BJP is acting it has definitely sabotaged the interests of the country. The Congress during its 60-year-rule did nothing for minorities and Dalits. KCR is of the opinion that we should form Federal Front and take charge in Delhi,” Khan added.
Drugs Case: Puri, Charmi, Ravi Teja Get Clean Chit
The infamous drug scandal that broke out in July 2017 saw several big names of Tollywood. The drugs case and its investigation had shook Tollywood. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had busted a major drug racket which supplied high-end drugs like lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and methylenedioxy- methamphetamine (MDMA) to students, celebrities and a few people in corporate sector.
In this case, at least 15 well-known film personalities including director Puri Jagannadh, actors Charmi, Ravi Teja, Mumaith Khan, Tarun, Tanish, Navdeep, Nandu, Subbaraju, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, art director Chinna and others were interrogated. Excise Enforcement Director Akun Sabarwal had probed the matter thoroughly and the high-profile had garnered a lot of significance in media. Even the samples such as strands of hair, nails, etc. of some of them were collected by the authorities for examination.
After a lot of probe, finally, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has given a clean chit to all the film personalities involved with the durgs racket. The film personalities were called for investigation after their contacts were found from the kingpin of Hyderabad drug racket Calvin Mascarenha who was arrested by the ED earlier.
Looks like, the drugs case that shook Tollywood then has now ended as a happy ending with no one from Tollywood found guilty. It’s a big relief to all those whose names were dragged into media in connection with the case.
YSRCP tops with most educated MP Candidates
As the debate for whether politicians should have an educational qualification seems never-ending, survey by India Today stated that YSR Congress Party from Andhra Pradesh has most educated contestants in the Lok Sabha polls, followed by Tamil Nadu’s Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Telangana Rashtra Samithi at second and third positions, respectively.
According to the survey, YSRCP has 88% of Lok Sabha candidates who are educated while DMK has 87.5% of candidates who are educated while TRS stands at the third place with 82.4%. Interestingly, the survey states that regional parties have the most educated candidates.
The other parties in the list are Naam Tamilar Katchi of Tamil Nadu with 80 per cent of candidates being educated while the Congress has 75.7 percent candidates who have attained higher education followed by the Trinamool Congress (74.5%), Biju Janata Dal (71.4%), Aam Aadmi Party (71.4%) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (70.8%).
The survey also mentions that five best constituencies which have contestants will higher education. They are Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, Balangir in Odisha, South Goa in Goa, Nabarangpur in Odisha and Nagaland constituency in Nagaland. Meanwhile, it also stated that there are very few illiterate candidates, just 2% of the total candidates contesting the Lok Sabha polls.
