2.0 Producers Haven’t Paid Me; Lyca responds
Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0′ has landed in a new controversy as the subtitlist of the film accused the producers of non-payment. Subtitlist Rekhs aka Rekha has tweeted that it’s been ten months and the makers did not make any payment despite repeated attempts.
Responding to the allegations of Rekhs, Lyca Productions banner which had bankrolled ‘2.0’ had condemned her comments. “Rekhs has problem with every production house, she works with. We have paid duly with whomever we have worked. Our partners were hurt by Rekhs comments while on the other hand we are trying to get the documents of payment made to Rekhs,” said Lyca in a statement.
Further, the statement read, Rekhs had demanded huge amount but we have given as per the market range and her comments are not appropriate. With Rekhs tweets, netizens were shocked to hear her claims.
Also Rekhs went on to disclose that she did not even get payments for Gautam Menon, Kamal Haasan and Aascar Ravichandran movies and is still waiting for them to pay her.
2.0 was made with a budget of Rs 550 crore and the film reportedly collected Rs 800 crore at the box office.
Telugu Student Who ‘Killed’ 66 Computers In US Gets 1 Year Jail
A Telugu student named Vishwanath Akuthota from Chittoor district has been sentenced to 1 year jail and fined over $58,000 for ‘killing’ computers at his college in Albany, USA.
Vishwanath, 27, has been found guilty of intentionally destroying 66 campus computers with a ‘USB Killer’ earlier this year. Apart from 1 year jail, Vishwanath will also spend 1 year of supervised release.
Vishwanath allegedly destroyed 66 computers at The College of St. Rose and even video recorded himself, saying “I’m going to kill this guy”, before entering a USB key into the computers, enhanced podiums and monitors.
The USB key sends commands that activate the equipment’s power components that charge the power and store energy. The ‘killer’ then directs the infected device to rapidly charge and then discharge. This overloads the electrical system of a computer and destroys it.
What’s Stopping Kabir Singh from Doing ‘Jersey’?
We have received reports that after the super success of ‘Kabir Singh’ Bollywood hero Shahid Kapoor will be doing yet another Telugu remake and it is none than that of Natural Star Nani’s ‘JERSEY.’ Noted producer ‘Dil’ Raju has acquired the Hindi remake rights and in association with Karan Johar, he is set to remake it.
The latest update of this is, Shahid Kapoor is in two minds to do this film and he has also laid a condition too. If Shahid signs this film, he reportedly wants Rs 40 crore remuneration. This is a huge amount but Shahid defends himself and is citing the blockbuster success of ‘Kabir Singh’ which minted Rs 200 crore at the box office.
With Shahid quoting such a big paycheck, producer Karan Johar is not impressed while on the other hand, ‘Dil’ Raju is adamant on having Shahid only as he believes that only Shahid can do justice for the role.
The Bollywood circles report that the negotiations would certainly take time and the project might get a launch so soon.
Prudhvi indirectly warns Rajendra Prasad?
During the last weekend senior actor Rajendra Prasad visited Tirumala and offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swami. Coming out of the temple as usual media surrounded him and he was asked why the biggies of the Telugu Film Industry are not meeting AP CM YS Jagan.
To this Rajendra Prasad replied that there is no urgency to meet AP CM. “As Jagan is the new CM, he needs time to settle down probably for a month or two. Usually, people with business interests would like to meet CM whereas artists have nothing of that sort. The film industry doesn’t have issues or concerns but if there are any, we will take them to CM’s notice,” said RP. He also said that he would personally meet Jagan soon.
Comedian Prudhviraj who was recently appointed as the chairman of SVBC found fault in Rajendra Prasad’s statements. “The film industry would have felicitated Chandrababu if he had become the CM for the second time. As CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy did a lot for the film industry yet the people in TFI are not liking, Jagan becoming the CM. That’s why they refused to even congratulate him. Hereafter if anyone says something bad about Jagan, will rip them apart,” said Prudhvi.
Seems like Prudhvi is taking things very serious as there is nothing wrong in Rajendra Prasad’s comments but somehow the former felt offensive in it.

This afternoon, Chandrababu took to his Twitter and tweeted a few pictures of key administrative buildings in Amaravati beautifully illuminated in tricolours on the eve of the 73rd Independence Day.
“God has written the perfect script. He made those who mocked saying it’s not Amaravati but just graphics and ‘Bhramaravati’ (illusion) to illuminate it beautifully with their own hands,” Chandrababu tweeted.
While the former CM’s tweet turned out to be a collar-raising moment for his fans, the YSRCP followers are seen ridiculing the tweet. Villagers to take governance to people’s doorstep
Vijayawada: On the occasion of Independence Day, the Andhra Pradesh government launched a village volunteers initiative for taking governance to the doorsteps of people by involving over 2.8 lakh village volunteers.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday announced the launch of the flagship programme at the main official function here to mark Independence Day.
Reddy, who later addressed the village volunteers at another event, said the programme was launched as the villages are backward even after 73 years of achieving independence.
Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag, he said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that the fruits of development reach those living in villages.
Under the initiative, the volunteers will act as a bridge between the government and the people. Another 2.66 lakh jobs will be provided by appointing permanent employees in village secretariats to be launched from October 2.
Village secretariats would be set up in each village to deliver governance to people in 72 hours. The scheme involves provision of one volunteer to cover 50 families in each village. Identity cards would be given to the volunteers and they would be paid an honorarium of Rs 5,000 per month.
The volunteers would first identify the beneficiaries, get to know their problems and, thereafter, delineate the appropriate schemes being provided for them by the government.
The Chief Minister said that the schemes would be able to reach the poorest of the poor and make all the villages self-sufficient.
Reddy also said the volunteers would turn out to be leaders once they complete their term. A toll-free telephone number 1902 would be set up at a call centre in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) to receive the grievances of the people.
He said that his government has taken many path-breaking decisions and will resolutely stick to its stand, brushing aside the insipid criticism of detractors.
He defended the legislations that were recently enacted to provide reservation for jobs to locals and reverse tendering.
In his hour-long address, he listed out the path-breaking welfare schemes and legislations that his government has undertaken during last two-and-a-half months.
The Chief Minister said the ‘Navaratnas’ delineated by him in the party manifesto were prepared after he understood the problems of the people during his 3,648 km ‘padayatra’ (march) throughout the state.
Besides, the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme would be started from October 15 under which electricity would be provided to farmers free of cost and each farmer would get Rs 12,500 per year for the next four years, he added.
Speaking about the Amma Vodi scheme, which would be launched on January 26 next year, the Chief Minister said all mothers would be given Rs 15,000 per year so that they can educate their children without any hassles.
