#BiggBoss3: Ali Reza Takes The Charge As Captain
It is Day 24 in the House as S3 E25 is on the running, and the house got a new captain. Definitely, this is another exciting episode with Ali, Ravi and Rahul fighting for the throne in order to sit on that for a maximum time and grab the captaincy.
Defending the seat from both Ravi and Rahul, Ali has sat on the throne (which resembles the throne in Game of Thrones) for hours and finally won the captaincy task. While he was declared a captain, the big thing is, he broke the property of Bigg Boss in this process but hasn’t got punished.
At the same time, both Sreemuki and Rahul Sipligunj, who used to be good friends outside the house prior to this show, and who have become enemies now, tried to make amendments. Though their discussion sounded like as if they pardoned each other, their talk with other housemates indicated that they still hold the grudge. Meanwhile, Rahul’s ‘pulihora’ with Punarnavi is going on at a brisk pace.
And then, Vithika has gone a bit silent along with Varun, as their gang got little upset after losing the captaincy task.
Japan Mounting Pressure On YS Jagan!
YSRCP’s social-media has widely promoted the meeting of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with Japan’s Consul General Kojiro Uchiyama. While the Japanese delegation has invited AM Jagan to visit Japan and to meet Japan’s investors who were keen to invest money, YCP activists and leaders claimed it as Jagan government’s achievement and the trust of foreign investors on Jagan.
But within just two weeks, Jagan got a major shocker from Japan. Japanese Ambassador has shot off a letter to Jagan asking him to roll back his decision over Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). He asked Jagan to honour the signed contracts. Japan cautioned Jagan administration against its decision to reduce tariffs on signed PPAs as it will result in investors losing confidence.
Cautioning that this will not only harm the business environment of the state but also hinder its move to cleaner sources of energy, the Japanese Ambassador to India has requested the AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy, to honour the contracts. Moreover, the report noted that developer companies are funded by overseas sovereign and pension funds which will be hugely impacted by these reduced tariffs.
India’s two major renewable energy developers – ReNew Power and SB Energy- are thoroughly backed by Japanese investments. ReNew claims to be India’s largest independent power producer with a capacity of over 7 gigawatts (GW). And the SB Energy has business dominance in natural power combined with artificial intelligence and electric vehicles. These two firms have been backed by Japan’s investors who funded the two firms. So, any little impact on the business of these two companies would directly affect Japanese investors. Japan’s embassy and India’s Power Ministry have already sent letters to YS Jagan to reconsider his decision.
With pressure mounting on AP from Union Government and Japan, Jagan is caught off-guard. It is learnt that Jagan now wants to re-consider his decision – not completely though – but to find middle-ground to save the interests of foreign investors.
Successful Comedy Surfaces On Amazon Prime Now
If the film hits the 50 days mark after the release, there is no more waiting for it, as “Prime Video” will release it immediately. As per the new deal made by Telugu producers, now films are appearing on the popular digital streaming site only after 50 days from the release.
Last week we have seen thriller movie Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya turning up on Amazon Prime and now it’s the time for a super successful comedy to do the same. It is none other than Brochevarevaru Ra, which features Sree Vishnu and Nivetha Thomas in the leads. The film’s comedy became an instant hit with audiences in Telugu states and overseas alike.
Now that the film is on Prime Video, repeated viewers are likely to get glued to their mobile phones and smart TV screens. For folks who have missed the film on the silver screen, surely this arrival of Brochevarevaru Ra will give huge relief.
Independence Day Releases: Two Genres, Safe Bets
On the eve of Independence Day, Tollywood is going to see two new releases hitting the cinemas. As this Thursday happens to be a holiday, filmmakers are actually seeing this as a long weekend which Saaho thought of cashing earlier. Today we have Sharwanand’s Ranarangam and Adivi Sesh’s Evaru hitting cinemas.
In fact, these two films actually belong to two different genres and they are almost safe bets in their domain. Currently, there are no mass films in the market and that might help Ranarangam big time. With Sharwa-Kalyani’s cute love story, Kajal’s charms and Sudheer Varma’s love for the crime being the added attractions, the film might cater well to B and C centres.
At the same time, Evaru belongs to a different genre altogether as the film banks on thriller content. This appeals to one section of the audiences quite well and they are eagerly waiting for this. That too, as the trailer promised some touching content including that Regina’s sexual abuse and murder, it has created enough buzz.
In the wake of no big film at the box office, these two seem to be safe bets and let’s look forward to their reviews. Keep watching this space.
Pic Talk: Aamir Khan’s Daugther Slays In Sexy Avatars

While she slipped into a pink lace bra and hotpants in one look, she wore a Halloween kind of dark makeup in another. Putting on some differently designed costumes, also Ira posed in a rather abstract style. All these pictures are right now going viral everywhere.

Pic Of The Day: 5-Time MLA Eats Rs 5 Meal At GHMC Stall
That don’t make an MLA like him anymore. Here is the former Yellandu MLA Gummadi Narsaiah of CPI (ML) eating the Rs 5 meal like a common man at a GHMC stall in Baghlingampally, Hyderabad. Needless to say, Narsaiah’s simplicity has floored everyone at the stall.
Gummadi Narsaiah served as an independent MLA in the Yellandu constituency in Khammam between 1983 to 1994 and 1999-2009. He was defeated by TDP candidate Vooke Abbaiah in 2009.
Always known and respected for his down to earth nature by his peers and people, Narsaiah is known as a ‘People’s Man’. During his tenure as an MLA, he refused to take the government convoy and traveled in public transport. He still doesn’t own a car and leads an ultra normal life.
‘Brahmani Steels’ Back Into Discussions?
‘Brahmani Steels’ was one of the dream projects for former late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It is owned by former leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
The foundation stone for Brahmani Steels was laid by late YSR at Chitimiti Chintala (Jammalamadugu) Thanda in Kadapa district in 2007. Not stopping there, Mr Reddy allocated 10,760 acres of land to Gali for 20-000 Cr captive steel plant.
Not just Kadapa, but entire Rayalaseema was expected to see revolutionary changes with this project. Later in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s tenure, the MoU for setting up of Brahmani Steels in Kadapa was scrapped and government decided to take back the land allocated to firm.
Freshly, a speculation is rife that there is a minor movement in Brahmani Steels plant work. Also, given that Jagan assured to lay foundation state for a steel plant in first six months after coming to power in Kadapa. At this juncture, a foreign firm named IMR is showing high interest to takeover Brahmani Steels.
A delegation from IMR, has on Wednesday, paid a visit to the construction of Brahmani Steels plant. They also visited a guest house with 140 rooms, unfinished buildings, Blast Furnace, Welding Shed, Powerplant, Sub Station and Reservoir Central Plant for water storage. Jammalamadugu MLA Mule Sudheer Reddy has briefed them regarding land details, road, rail connectivity and water allocation.
Rangammatha Market Total Down!
Started her career as an anchor, Anasuya has got celebrity status. Besides her glam looks, Jabardasth show has made her close to masses. This brought her a slew of movie offers. Although she did handful of films like Kshanam, Soggade Chinni Nayana, it is her role Rangamma Atta in Rangasthalam got critical acclaim.
Owing to this, several small producers have pinned hopes on Anasuya and cast her as lead. One among them is Kathanam. The film turned out to be huge disaster. In addition to the poor talk, poor promotions and Anasuya’s reluctance to promote the film have
It is learnt that the Kathanam producer suffered huge Rs 2 Crore loss with the film as the film is a total washout. Anasuya’s another film Sachindi Ra Gorre was shelved. With this, several other producers who want to cast Anasuya as film’s lead are looking out for other options. Now, Anasuya has to rely on character roles. Let’s see what is in store.
Ranarangam Review: Style over Substance
Sharwanand has been playing soft roles and he has tried to come out from his comfort zone. So, when he teamed up director Sudheer Varma who is known for stylish thrillers, it created good interest. Furthermore, the trailers are slick and added the hype around this film.
Lets find out whether this has lived up to the expectations?
Story:
In the present day, Deva (Sharwanand) runs a mafia empire in India from Spain and leads an affluent lifestyle. He is living with a kid.
The story then cuts to 1995 when NTR romped back to power and imposed total prohibition of alcohol in the state.
How Deva becomes a mafia don using this prohibition is the main point. He brings alcohol from Orissa and sells them in Vizag and becomes a threat to the bootlegging business of local MLA.
The story intercuts to the past and present and past haunts him in the present as well.
Artistes’ Performances:
Sharwanand has shown two shades of Deva, the middle-aged gangster, and the young guy. He is okay as middle-aged man but he actually is in elements in the flashback episodes. Sharwanand is the main saving grace of the movie.
As a 90’s girl, Kalyani Priyadarshan is impressive and her romantic scenes with Sharwanand are cute.
Kajal’s character is silly. Hers is a poorly written role. Murali Sharma as a goon MLA and Raja shine in their minor roles.
Technical Excellence:
Director Sudheer Varma’s films always bank heavily on technical values. He doesn’t disappoint here. In fact, the visuals and background score are the main highlight of this movie. Divakar Mani’s cinematography stands out. His lighting pattern is terrific.
The back-and-forth narration has lacked smooth editing. Background score is another plus point. But dialogues lack appeal.
Highlights:
Sharwanand
Technical department
Cinematography
Drawback:
Back and forth narration
Lack of emotion
Clichéd script
Predictable
Analysis
Director Sudheer Varma never hides the fact that he copies stories and scenes from the great movies. In many interviews during the promotions of the movie, he has made it clear that he copied the screenplay of “The Godfather Part II” and many sequences he took from several other Hollywood and Indian gangster dramas.
As he said, the film’s story is quite clichéd from the word go. He has chosen the prohibition period of 1995 when NT Rama Rao came back to power to tell the basic story but he has not used this backdrop well to the fullest.
It begins like any other gangster drama where a hero lives in a foreign country and is filled with several scenes of how powerful he is.
After establishing Sharwanand as a don operating from Spain, the story cuts to the flashback of his early days and comes back to the present-day conflict, then again cuts to the 1990s and comes back to the present day. This back and forth narration goes on like a loop till the end for every few minutes.
There are some interesting episodes that slowly draw us into that mood but again abruptly the scene is cut to another period. This abrupt cutting of timelines has spoiled it. No episode is fully invigorating.
The good part of the movie are some sequences in the 1990s like romantic track between Sharwanand and Kalyani, the innovative way of smuggling liquor bottles.
Director Sudheer Varma should have continued this thread more. The present-day sequences are predictable.
We get to see Kajal Aggarwal becoming close to Sharwanand for no apparent reason. Her presence in these sequences is more like the presence of a junior artiste in a big scene than anything else.
Like always, Sudheer Varma has focused on the technical part. His filming of interval bang – a shootout in a lift shows how good he is at capturing such sequences.
The slick visuals, the production values, and the camerawork dominate throughout. Many individual scenes stand out for its brilliant filming but the next scenes suppress the mood.
Also, there are too many killings and shootouts.
All in all, “Ranarangam” is an unsatisfactory gangster drama that focuses more on visuals than the story. Technically superior film with rich production values but it is the content that is totally disappointing.
Bottom-line: Same Old Stuff!
Prabhas: ‘Anushka and I are very good friends’
Prabhas who was seen in the superhit film of Indian cinema Baahubali, is all set to woo fans with his high octane sequences in Saaho.
During one of his recent interviews, the actor was once again asked about his relationship and several reports are making rounds that he will be tying the knot with Anushka Shetty after Saaho’s release.
“Anushka and I are very good friends but if there was something more, wouldn’t someone have spotted us together in the last two years? The question was posed to me on Karan Johar’s show too. I let Rajamouli and Rana (Daggubati, Bahubali costar) answer it and even they stated that there was nothing between us. It wasn’t as if I had prepared them,” Prabhas states.
Rumour: Love Nest for Prabhas and Anushka!
Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas starrer Saaho, is all set to release on August 30 and fans are already waiting for the movie with bated breath. Check out the trailer and songs released by the makers in case you haven’t watched it yet.
The trailer of the film which was released a couple of weeks ago has garnered over 50 million views. On the other hand, his track Physco Saiyaan has received 68 million views so far.
‘Blatant lies’ in KCR’s Independence Day speech!
Speeches given by Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers after unfurling national flag on the occasion of Independence Day should have sanctity.
These speeches should not be like their routine political speeches given during elections, party meetings or press conferences, where politicians tell lies, make false claims to get votes and win elections.
But Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have ignored this fact too.
Those who heard KCR’s speech given from the ramparts of historic Golconda Fort as part of Independence Day celebrations today, were shocked to notice KCR telling lies and making false claims on implementing some of his promised schemes by his government.
KCR claimed that his government has implemented Rs 1 lakh crop loan waiver scheme for farmers as promised during polls.
This a blatant lie coming out from the mouth of KCR which everyone knows in Telangana.
It’s nine months since KCR became CM for second term but crop loan waiver has not been implemented so far.
Due to this, over 30 lakh farmers in Telangana could not get fresh crop loans in ongoing kharif season so far as banks denied loans saying that Telangana government did not clear their previous arrears and if farmers want fresh loans, they should clear their previous loan arrears.
Banks even deducted Rythu Bandhu amount of Rs 500 crore credited by state government in the bank accounts of farmers without any notice and adjusted the deducted amount towards payment of arrears on their own.
With this, KCR’s much-hyped Rythu Bandhu scheme has turned as “Bank Bandhu” scheme, helping banks to recover their dues.
Everyone in Telangana from CM to sarpanch at grass-root level knows this very well, but still, KCR claimed in his I-D speech that his government issued orders waiving off Rs 1 lakh crop loans.
The other ‘lie’ noticed was KCR claiming that his government completed Mission Bhagiratha and all households in Telangana were receiving Mission Bhagiratha water in their homes through taps.
The fact remains that not even 50 per cent of the villages were covered so far and even of the remaining half, most of the households are covered by old water schemes, which are accounted under Mission Bhagiratha now.
