TDP Leaders To Complain Against Kodela?

Share

Former Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao is facing the toughest time of his political life. Having lost in the last elections, allegations against Kodela have hit the headlines and it went on till police cases against him, his son and daughter. Now his own party leaders are trying to corner him.

Guntur TDP leaders are demanding to appoint a new in-charge for Sathenapalli constituency. Kodela has worked as MLA and minister in the past but never such allegations and opposition within the party came against him. In 2014 elections, instead of Narasaraopet, Kodela picked up Sathenapalli and went on to become the Assembly speaker of new Andhra Pradesh. However in the last five years his son had showed his dominance in the constituency which few party leaders did not like. There is a rumour in the constituency that the ‘Kodela Tax’ was also collected from TDP members.

With such accusations mounting against him, TDP leaders are demanding for a new face to lead them in constituency. Very soon key leaders from Guntur are expected to meet Chandrababu Naidu and lodge their protest against Kodela before him. Irrespective of these reports, the TDP chief has immense trust on Kodela. Nevertheless we have to see what action will he take against Kodela.

Why Is Naidu So Angry With Voters?

Share

Even after facing the humiliating defeat in the hands of the YSR Congress party in the recent assembly elections, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t seem to have realised why the people had rejected him.

It was evident from the anguish Naidu had expressed at the party workers’ meeting held at the TDP headquarters in Guntur on Wednesday.

“Nobody is able to tell why the TDP lost the assembly elections. I don’t understand even now what mistake I had committed that made people to give us only 23 seats in the assembly elections. I have never seen such a verdict in my 40 years of political life,” he regretted.

The TDP president found fault with the people for defeating his party and choosing the YSRC headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“They enjoyed the fruits of Pattiseema project launched by me and reaped rich crops. But in the elections, they voted for the YSRC. In a way, they dumped the milch cow that gives them good quantity of milk and got a he-buffalo (Dunnapothu),” Naidu said, giving vent to his anger at the voters.

He alleged that the Jagan government was working with the sole objective of targeting him personally and in the process, it was going against the public interest.

“Just out of political vendetta against me, he has killed Amaravati, which I dreamt of constructing as a world-class capital city. The international airlines have stopped coming to Vijayawada,” he said.

Naidu said Jagan had made a lot of complaints against him during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

“But you cannot prove anything, as nothing has happened illegally in my regime. It is ironic that Jagan had gone to the Prime Minister not to ask funds for the state, but only to complain against me,” he alleged.

Jagan To Hold ‘partnership summit’ On Friday!

Share

The meeting of diplomats belonging to various countries to be held by YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada on August 9 is most likely to be going to be a “Partnership Summit” of a different kind.

Delegates from as many as 35 countries including Korea, UK, USA, Japan and Australia are likely to attend what is called “Diplomatic Outreach Event” to explore the potential trade relations in mutual interest.

“The Outreach programme is aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration in core areas like pharma, automobile, steel, textiles food processing, electronics and others. The State will showcase industrial policies and investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and potential areas of partnerships with the participating countries,” a CMO spokesman said.

Apart from Jagan, the event will be attended by state finance minister and industries minister along with concerned officials.

Jagan is likely to have a one-on-one meeting with delegates of select countries. The event is being organized in collaboration with the Department of External Affairs.

The interactions will establish a first level connection between the State and the visiting diplomats.

The connection thus established will be leveraged to identify trade synergies and technology transfer programs that will further strengthen the ties between the state and the partnering country.

In this process, Investment Promotion Offices and Investor Desks will be setup in business centers across major Indian cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai besides Tokyo, Seoul and other select foreign capitals to enable regular interaction with top investors across sectors.

Wherever offices cannot be setup directly, the state will partner with CII, FICCI and other Industrial organizations which have presence in those countries in order to reach out to investors.

Opinion: Congratulate instead of criticising

The yellow media is seizing upon a recent incident in Anantapur regarding KIA Motors and trying to portray the YSRCP government in a poor light.

Here’s what happened: Sadashivam, a Tamil gentleman is the General Manager at KIA Motors. Apparently, Sadashivam was approached by YSRCP Mandal Convenor Mylarapu Govind Reddy and Basampally former Sarpanch Dola Ramachandra Reddy who warned him that Kia Motors should give jobs to only those who were recommended by them.

They also ordered him to hire the lorries owned by YSRCP leaders for transportation service.

Claiming that KIA Motors was making enormous profits, they reportedly stated that KIA should think of others’ well-being as well.

A scared Sadashivam filed a complaint with the police who swung into action immediately.

Anantapur SP Satya Yesubabu himself took both the YSRCP leaders into custody. He counseled them and let them go after issuing a stern warning that they would be dealt with severely if they resorted to such threatening acts again.

Now, this is what the yellow media campaign is: “After bifurcation, Andhra is in a bad position. If even the few industries we have are threatened by YSCRP Rowdies, what will be the fate of the State?”

What Govind Reddy and Ramachandra Reddy did was wrong. But the follow-up action is very significant here.

The police did not get a single call from the local MLA, MP or any other influential person asking that the culprits be let off. They were not pressurized in any way from discharging their duties by anyone in the government.

Thus the government has declared its stance on such kinds of issues and this is very reassuring to any investor.

Once they see that their complaints are being acted upon immediately, they will get the confidence to carry out their business in a relaxed atmosphere.

It is not absence of issues that companies look for when investing but how good is the rule of law. After all, crime and corruption exists even in countries like Switzerland, New Zealand and Dubai.

Therefore, the YSRCP government should be congratulated instead of being criticized for allowing the law to take its own course.

Incidentally, factionists like Paritala Ravi and JC Diwakar Reddy were notorious for extorting money from industries in their area.

When Paritala Ravi was bleeding L&T dry, why was the yellow media silent? Why did they not speak about JC Brothers after they joined the TDP?

Therefore, any attempts now by the yellow media to project Andhra as a non-investor- friendly State are bound to boomerang.

Aavunu Vadilesi… Dunnanu Thecchukunnaru..

Share

For the first time since the election results, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has wholeheartedly expressed his feelings on the defeat. In a party meeting in Guntur, Chandrababu opened up and indirectly hinted that people have deceived him in the elections.

Throwing the blame on the voters, Chandrababu said, “I did give water from Pattiseema. People drank that water but forgot to vote for us (Pattiseema Neellu Thaagaru… Votlu Veyyadam Marchipoyaru). Instead of the Cow that gives milk, voters have preferred the Ox that doesn’t give any milk (‘Paalicche Aavunu Vadilesi… Dunnanu Thecchukunnaru..’),” said Naidu strangely. “I did not commit that big mistakes that people just gave me 23 MLAs,” added Babu.

This is something we don’t expect from Chandrababu usually yet he assured that TDP will be on the side of people and will fight with YSRCP government, if they fail to implement the election promises.

We can empathize with Chandrababu’s comments as the recent elections are a massive defeat in the history of TDP.
