Sujana given the task of splitting TDP?
It is now pretty evident that the Bharatiya Janata Party is keen on emerging as a strong political force in Andhra Pradesh by the next assembly elections. It wants to be the principal opposition, if not coming to power immediately.
But the party leadership knows it does not have enough strength of its own in Andhra Pradesh, as the people had rejected it for ditching the state on special category status issue.
The BJP could get around 0.87 per cent vote share in the recent elections.
However, the party feels the anger will no longer be there by next elections and the Narendra Modi factor that is sweeping all parts of the country would spread to AP as well.
In order to strengthen itself in AP, the BJP is trying to destabilise the Telugu Desam Party gradually and occupy its place as the main opposition in the coming years.
As part of that, it has started luring senior leaders from the TDP, as was evident from the defection of four Rajya Sabha members – Y S Chowdary, CM Ramesh, T G Venkatesh and G Mohan Rao.
According to BJP sources, the party has entrusted the responsibility of splitting the TDP to Y S Chowdary, better known as Sujana Chowdary.
“Nobody knows better than Sujana the weaknesses of the TDP MLAs and other leaders. He has been asked to lure as many MLAs and other potential leaders as possible to BJP using money power,” a BJP source said.
Apparently, Sujana was promised with a cabinet berth if can split the TDP vertically and bring a good number of MLAs into the BJP.
“He has been silently working on that mission. You will see the developments in this regard very soon,” the BJP leader said.

After Naidu, Mudragada now targets Jagan!
After targeting Telugu Desam Party and its president N Chandrababu Naidu in the last five years of his regime on the Kapu reservation issue, former minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham has now started targeting YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The reason for Mudragada’s anger is the latest decision of Jagan Reddy cancelling the decision of the Naidu government providing five per cent reservations to Kapus under Economically Backward Classes (EBC) quota, as he does not want to continue any scheme of Naidu.
On Monday, Mudragada on fired a salvo at Jagan questioning the decision taken on the ground that the five per cent quota to Kapus was scrapped by the court.
He sought to know which court had struck down the five per cent sub-quota in the 10 per cent reservation for the EBCs.
Mudragada said that If there was any such court stay order, then they would put plaster to their mouths without asking for any demands and rights till the next elections.
“Do we have to lead the lives of slaves without any demands? Do you think Kapus have voted for the YSR Congress party expecting a dole of Rs 2,000 crore to the Kapu corporation?” he asked.
In his earlier letter, Mudragada sounded a little positive towards Jagan.
He claimed that Kapus had voted en masse, except in a few places, in favour of YSR Congress in the recent assembly elections hoping that at least Jagan Mohan Reddy would be able to provide solution to the long-pending demand of the community for reservations in education and employment.
“We, Kapus, set aside even Jana Sena Party headed by Pawan Kalyan who hails from our community, and voted for the YSRC. Now, it is the time for you to reciprocate our support by fulfilling the demand for reservations,” he said.
Ex-minister Mukesh Goud is dead
Former minister in combined Andhra Pradesh and senior Congress leader from Hyderabad Mula Mukesh Goud, passed away on Monday afternoon after battling with cancer for over two years.
Mukesh Goud, who was popularly known as one of the “Hyderabad Brothers” along with another former minister and present Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, was 60 years. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
A mass leader in Hyderabad, Mukesh Goud won the assembly elections three times from Maharaj Gunj assembly constituency till 2014. He, however, lost to BJP’s T Raja Singh in the last two terms from Goshamahal constituency.
He started his career in politics as a councillor in 1986 and became the general secretary of the Youth Congress in 1988.
He served as BC Welfare Minister in 2007 and marketing minister in 2009. He is a nephew of former home minister T Devender Goud.
After the Congress party’s debacle in 2014 assembly elections, Mukesh made a desperate bid to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi before 2018 elections along with Nagender, but he did not succeed.
Apparently, the TRS bosses refused to give tickets to both him and his son Vikram Goud. He contested on the Congress ticket but lost the election again.
The last time he was seen in public was during the Lok Sabha elections, when he cast his vote.

Eliminated Bigg Boss Contestant Kept In Star Hotel?
People associated with Bigg Boss and those who closely follow the making of this reality show, do know that the episodes of Saturday and Sunday are filmed on Saturday itself. And the contestants and host will make choosing different costumes for the two episodes, in order to make it look like they were shot on different days.
Guess what, after shooting the two episodes, surely the eliminated contestant has to walk out of the Bigg Boss set in Annapurna Studios and by Sunday morning, the name of eliminated contestant used to get leaked. But now, to avoid such leakages, the organisers of the show are taking a special measure, to make sure that they will hide the eliminated contestant.
After Saturday night’s episode, the face and body of the eliminated contestant will be covered up and they will be moved to a car. Later they will be taken to a star hotel in Hyderabad to spend their entire Saturday night and Sunday. Only family members will be allowed to speak to them, but others will not be allowed. After the show starts getting aired on Sunday, this contestant will be relieved.

VP Naidu breaks down remembering Jaipal Reddy
New Delhi: Remembering 40 years of personal association with late Congress leader S. Jaipal Reddy, Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu broke down as he made obituary reference on the passing away of the former member of the House.
“For 40 years, he had been a friend, a senior and also at times he used to guide me because I am six years younger to him,” Naidu recalled time spent with him and said that his knowledge, depth of understanding and mastery over various languages were remarkable.
Former Union Minister and Congress leader from Telangana, Jaipal Reddy passed away at the age of 77 early on Sunday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad.
Reddy was a member of the Lok Sabha five times, four-time MLA and two-time Rajya Sabha member.
The House mourned the death of Reddy and observed silence as a mark of respect.
The Chairman remembered his days in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly when he shared bench with Jaipal Reddy and raised people’s cause. The two used to discuss various issues over breakfast before the sittings of the House started.
Naidu said that in the passing away of Jaipal Reddy, the country has lost a veteran parliamentarian and an outstanding orator, and also an able administrator.
