#BiggBoss3: Who Is Going To Be The First Elimination?

Share

With singer Rahul Sipliganj, actress Hema, heroine Vithika and TV9 Jaffer in the spot to get eliminated on Sunday night, various rumours are doing rounds about the possible contestant who would be out of the show tonight. And some inside sources have revealed that there is only this particular housemate who faced the ire of the public.

Apparently, Rahul has impressed many with his singing talents and his opinionated voice, which might make him stay for some more time in the house. And TV9 Jaffer is a bit slow, but still, he is someone who is expected to deliver and people are believing that. So the fight burns down to Varun Sandesh’s wife Vithika and character artist Hema now.

Though Vithika has no special positive points to amass, Hema is the one who could score those negative points for her motor mouth. In a couple of agitated situations inside the house in the past week, Hema’s raised her voice unwantedly a couple of times. And that might make her the enemy of many, as such dominating loud mouth never won the alliance of the audiences. Ground reports are also indicating that Hema is most likely to walk out from the house this week.

PS: Last year, after doing so much hungama, Bigg Boss announced that there is no elimination that week. Anything might happen here, so get ready!!

US: Oh Baby Gets 1 Million USD

Share

Samantha has pulled off a rare feat at the US Box Office as her Oh Baby! managed to scrape through the trademark 1 Million USD. This is no less achievement as Sam is the face of the film and she pulled it off on her shoulders.

Given the US theatricals value of the film, this is a record collection for the film in the US and it can be declared as the blockbuster. Oh Baby! becomes the third female-centric film to reach this mark after Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie and Keerthy Suresh’s Mahanati.

Directed by Nandini Reddy and released on 5th July (US premieres on 4th July), it took 23 days for Oh Baby, the official remake of South Korean film Miss Granny, to reach this landmark. Overall, Sam has proved her stamina and provided good content, she can pull off a film on her own.

‘Probe on CM Jagan will continue’

Share

Bharatiya Janata Party is making all efforts to make inroads into Andhra and Telangana. While Ram Madhav is already on-duty, AP co-in-charge Sunil Deodhar has recently stated that there will no pause to the ongoing investigations on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, MP Sujana Choudhary and CM Ramesh. ‘Joining BJP will not stop them from facing probe and justice will do its own duty,’ he added. Sunil, who visited Vizag on Saturday, has made the above comments while addressing his party karyakartas. He also made it a point that party leadership is concentrating on Andhra in particular and putting in all efforts to bring BJP into power in 2024.

He further said: “In the coming polls, the major fight will be between YSRCP and BJP. In order to make other parties weak, we might have to get some seniors and crucial leaders into our party. We are planning to implement Tripura formula in AP too and it is necessary to make AP free from corruption and caste-based politics.

Answering a question by media, the senior BJP leader said his party will work against the YCP’s biased, one-directional and irregularities polices. He also spoke about how the party has highlighted about Police protection to churches in AP and hiking pastors’ salary.

Sunil also alleged that TDP failed to issue the utilization certificate on Polavaram and also referred to YCP’s attack that TDP involved in irregularities when it comes to Polavaram. ‘That is why we could not allocate funds in the recent budget,’ he stated. Finally, Mr. Deodhar stated the victory of YSRCP must be attributed to the anti-incumbency for TDP government and also since there was no other alternative for voters.

Balayya & Relative Bought 500 Acres Land in Amaravati?

Share

Actor, Hindupur MLA and Chandrababu Naidu’s brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna is under the scanner as allegations are rife on him that he along with one of his relatives had bought 500 acres of land in Amaravati before the announcement of capital city.

Government sources allege that Balayya and his in-law bought 500 acres of land and they call it as “insider trading”. Government sources allege that several other TDP leaders had also bought large areas of lands in and around the capital before its declaration.

Responding on this, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday said that all aspects of the insider trading related to Amaravati capital would be exposed soon and he said no one would be left out.

While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his trusted aides have been alleging of an insider trading during TDP rule (2014-2019) since they were in opposition, the allegation is back after YS Jagan became the CM and this is now being linked to the dropping of loan from the World Bank. The World Bank dropped its loan of 300 million USD for Amaravati recently. AP state government’s request for 300 Million Dollars loan for the construction of capital Amaravati has been turned down by the World Bank.

“The irregularities in land procurement is one of the reasons for the World Bank to back out from funding the capital city project. The land procurement in Amaravati is a huge scam. The TDP leaders violated the oath of secrecy too,” said Minister Botsa yesterday at a press conference.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy also made some serious allegations on the floor of Assembly on Friday. He said severe irregularities were practiced by previous TDP government to bring Singapore Consortium on board.

According to Buggana, Singapore Consortium had entered into an agreement with the previous state government to develop 1691 acres of land in Amaravati. And AP government should in return bear 5500 Crore by developing infrastructure, facilities like street lights, roads, providing sand and giving land for free. While Singapore Consortium in its agreement stated that it would invest Rs 306 Crore, AP government would bear Rs 5500 Crore.

“In total, the state’s investment would be Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 12,000 crore. But, we will have a minor stake of 42 per cent, while Singapore Consortium will hold 58 per cent. Singapore Consortium will have 4 members as the directors and AP state government will only have 2 members as the directors in the board. This is clear case of irregularity by transferring full hold to Singapore Consortium,” said Finance Minister Buggana in the house alleging that TDP leaders had given out the contracts related to capital Amaravati by taking their cut.

While YCP and TDP leaders continue to make allegations and counter-allegations against one another, the growth and works of Amaravati Capital have hit rock bottom. TDP leader and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna is yet to respond to the allegations against him.

Nag & Sampoo Surprises In Hindi Film

Share

When south audiences do watch Hindi movies, any reference to south heroes will excite them a lot. Right now one such thing is happening with the latest Hindi movie ‘Arjun Patiala’ that features Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon in the leads.

In this film, there is one interesting murder scene which will have the ‘Telusa Manasa’ song Hindi version as the background music. And the hero also asks what song is this and from which film, as another actor reveals it is from ‘Criminal’ movie. And the visuals of Nagarjuna are shown on the screen, thereby giving a kick to Telugu audiences.

And during the pre-climax of the movie, when the hero wants to do an anti-gravity fight, he wants to see a reference of a south movie, such that he could pip the goons badly. And he sees the visuals of Sampoornesh Babu’s over-exaggerated satirical fights from Hrudaya Kaleyam to get inspired. Though this is a mockery of south movies, Arjun Patiala movie itself is a mockery of many things.

And for Telugu audiences, the glimpse of Nagarjuna and Sampoo is surely enthralling, while the film Arjun Patiala has only partly good to offer.

Will Nani’s Bank Robbery Stands To Be The Best?

Share

Natural star Nani is getting ready to come up with ‘Gang Leader’ very soon and he has already impressed with the trailer. This Vikram K Kumar film is likely to have an interesting setup and here comes an interesting snippet of it.

Apparently, Nani and his gang of five women are likely to involve in a bank heist we hear. Unlike the robbery scenes we have seen in movies like Julayi and Dhoom, where are there are lots of spectacular action scenes, here we will be seeing how intelligent people with less muscular power can plan to loot a bank.

Reports are coming that this bank job is going to change the course of the film and where the hero ends up after this incident is going to be the key for the film’s progression in the second half. Set for September 13th release, the makers are said to be shooting a remaining song now.

#BiggBoss3: Himaja And Punarnavi Saved!!

Share

In the first week itself, there are six contestants who got nominated for elimination from Bigg Boss 3, and that includes Rahul Sipligunj, Hema, TV9 Jaffer, Vithika Sheru, Himaja, and Punarnavi. And on Saturday itself, Nagarjuna saved two contestants from the danger zone based on the votes polled by the audiences.

Firstly, Nagarjuna announced that TV actress Himaja got saved from elimination as audiences favoured her. All these days Himaja’s over-emotional stuff sounded fake for inmates, but it looks audiences have believed in it. Also, they have bought her revelation that she cleaned bathrooms early in the morning not to win points, but to make everyone feel fresh.

And then, the announcement came that Punarnavi got saved by the audiences. Well, there is no specific reason as to why she got so many votes except for the fact that her glamorous appearances might have impressed the youth audiences of the program.

On the other hand, Rahul, Hema, Jaffer and Vithika are still facing the nomination trouble and one of them will be out on Sunday night.

#BigBoss S03 E07: Nag’s Teasing Is Working Out

Share

After impressing everyone in the debut episode, Nagarjuna Akkineni has arrived for the second time on #BigBoss3, this Saturday. And everyone is looking forward to how he is gonna make a statement with his second appearance. And here it goes.

Nagarjuna relied much on teasing in this first-ever interaction with all the contestants together, through the television. And we have to say that he made an impact, though still, he is to show his best side. He teased Vithika as to why Varun Tej slept towards the side where all the boys are sleeping, and herself towards girls. Also teased Varun if he is contemplating about Vithika’s elimination.

Continuing the same, he asked about Ravi Krishna’s tongue slip on Mahesh Vitta’s colour, pointed out Himaja’s emotional behaviour as she’s the one who cried first in the house, spoke about Jaffer and Baba Bhaskar’s bromance, slightly warned Hema for unkempt behaviour, reminded Ashu Reddy of her silence and praised Siva Jyothy for love towards husband.

Also, Nagarjuna named Sreemukhi as ‘Alaka’nanda for storming out of the house a couple of times and advised her to be careful while giving good advice to everyone.

On a whole, Nagarjuna got decent marks for his performance, but he has to still deliver that entertaining and enticing side.

Special Article: Bollywood’s Big Season Roster

Share

Going into the second half of the year, Bollywood has a strange challenge at hand. So far, the biggest hot at the domestic box-office is a Hollywood film. “Avengers: Endgame” has crossed the Rs 365-crore mark in India, and is by far the big film of the year so far.

Not even did the mighty Salman Khan manage to beat the record-busting show of the Avengers with his much-hyped “Bharat”, nor was Akshay Kumar’s patriotic action drama “Kesari” up to the mark.

Most Bollywood fans are now looking at Salman’s second release this year, “Dabangg 3”, as the film that might break the immense run of “Endgame”, when it releases in the Christmas 2019 weekend. The box-office show of “Dabangg 3” will also be a test for Salman at another level. Although “Bharat” is a hit, having crossed the Rs 200-crore mark at the Indian box-office, it is far from the record-breaking show you expect from a Salman Khan film.

At a time when the Khans are struggling to stay in contention against the threat of younger heroes, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have no releases lined up in the year ahead. Ranveer Singh, the box-office golden boy of the hour, will only return next year with his next, “83”, and so will Ranbir Kapoor with “Brahmastra” and “Shamshera”. The other new-age frontrunners, Tiger Shroff and Varun Dhawan, have bitten the dust lately, with “Kalank” and “Student of the Year 2” respectively.

On the other hand, Bollywood’s offbeat heroes are going great guns. Ayushmann Khurrana is on a roll, having completed a hattrick. After “Andhadhun” and “Badhaai Ho” last year, he has scored a big hit with “Article 15” now. The small film has earned over Rs 63 crore at the domestic market, impressing the audience with its hard-as-nails content.

The success of small, content-driven films such as “Article 15” and “Badla”, and the cold response to big-budget spectacles as “Kalank” that don’t mean much, shed light on the awful truth that will rule box-office trends in the months to come and beyond — in B-Town, content is the new superstar.

The success of “Uri”, a film touting no big star but banking on solid content and a stylish narrative to instil patriotic fervour, has underlined this. The film made over Rs 244.06 crore, second only to Shahid Kapoor’s grand comeback in “Kabir Singh”, which raked in Rs 271.24 crore, but is still far away from the Avengers mark, though it is still counting the numbers at the box-office.

Incidentally, the super success of “Kabir Singh” basically pointed at two things: First, any rehash of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s “Devdas” will invariably work in any age. Secondly, if you build a solid publicity strategy around good music, you are bound to draw the crowds in the opening weekend.

The music bit, in particular, is something that Bollywood should pay attention to in the coming months, especially at a time more and more people are voicing tiredness over assembly-line remixes (they are fashionably called recreations nowadays). “Dabangg 3” apart, makers of every other upcoming commercial biggie needs to remember the power of original music for a good start.

Big films coming up in the coming months include Akshay Kumar’s “Housefull 4”, and the Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff action thriller “War”. The success or failure of these primarily glamour-driven productions will firmly establish if the Bollywood audience is still in the mood to celebrate larger-than-life content that is low on substance.

But the big film that looks most likely to bust a record or two is, incidentally, going to come from outside Bollywood. “Bahubali” star Prabhas returns in “Saaho”, the multilingual fantasy thriller rumoured to be budgeted at far beyond Rs 150 crore. The film is scheduled to open on August 30, and is billed as one that might redefine on-screen entertainment in Indian mainstream cinema.

The real toast at the end of the year, however, will probably be raised to films narrating real stories. The clash between John Abraham’s “Batla House” and Akshay Kumar’s “Mission Mangal” should be an interesting one on August 15, in this context. Both films will try to instil the spirit of patriotism through stories of very different flavours.

If “Batla House” and “Mission Mangal”, coming after “Uri”, underline nothing sells like the patriotic mantra right now, heroine-oriented films are also pleasantly growing in numbers and stature. This is an era when roles for actresses have overall become stronger. In the coming months, Priyanka Chopra will make a strong comeback bid with Shonali Bose’s drama, “The Sky Is Pink”. Sonam Kapoor returns with another home banner-backed heroine centric script, “The Zoya Factor”.

“Mission Mangal” is the other anticipated film that will celebrate the power of womanhood this year, with its story of the all-women ISRO team that made India’s Mars mission possible.

It looks like an assorted mix right now, As the months roll, we will know which of these films are truly memorable fare.

Check out some interesting films in store:

BATLA HOUSE
Nikkhil Advani’s film picks up the real life story of a cop’s battle against an accusation of encounter that he wants the world to know is fake. John Abraham returns in what could be a defining role of his career in this Independence Day release.

MISSION MANGAL
This year’s other Independence Day release has Akshay Kumar playing head of ISRO’s Mars mission, and how he led an all-women team into making the mission possible. Vidya Balan, Tapsee Pannu, Sonkashi Sinha and Kirti Kulhari essay the team of ISRO.

SAAHO
“Bahubali” star Prabhas makes a comeback to the big screen, but that is not the only reason this film has garnered hype. Rumoured to be the costliest film India has ever made, the Shraddha Kapoor-costarrer is a special effects spectacular like never before.

DABANGG 3
Salman Khan returns as Chulbul Pandey, the affable heartland cop, for a new adventure. Prabhudheva has taken over as director, and while Sonakshi Sinha returns as Rajjo, Salman also gets to romance 20-something Saiee Manjrekar in the film.

WAR
The Yash Raj production unites Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff – two of the hottest action stars of Bollywood’s new generation – in a high-tech, high-octane action thriller. The film is lavishly shot across Portugal, Iceland and India, among other countries.

HOUSEFULL 4
The box-office fate of this film will be a test of the traditional Bollywood comic entertainer as we knew it. Series mascots Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh return with a new cast comprising Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde.

THE SKY IS PINK
Shonali Bose, who shot to fame directing “Amu”, has signed up the star power of Priyanka Chopra to celebrate will power of a woman. Priyanka plays Aisha, who is afflicted by the fatal illness, pulmonary fibrosis. This is also Zaira Wasim’s last film.

IAS officers unable to catch up with Jagan?

Share

It has been nearly two months since YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took as the new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and he is making all out efforts to establish his mark on the administration.

But what Jagan has failed to understand was the functioning of bureaucracy, since he had no experience of administration in the past.

He apparently thought he could get the things done easily by the IAS officers by keeping them in good humour.

However, IAS officers have a different mindset. They go by the rule book and if the chief minister tries to enforce his ideas, they do not simply agree for the same if the ideas are against the routine system.

That is what is happening in the Jagan’s government, say sources in the Secretariat.

At the first IAS officers’ conference, Jagan tried to give an impression that he is a friendly chief minister and asked the officials to guide him and give him right advices.

It gave a lot of relief for the bureaucrats, who had to face a tough time in Chandrababu Naidu regime who had never allowed them to have proper sleep.

But things changed when Jagan held the cabinet meeting ahead of the assembly session recently.

While he wanted to push all the bills pertaining to implementation of Nava Ratnas, the IAS officers tried to give him a piece of mind, saying the financial resources do not permit to implement all the promises.

This has angered Jagan who is learnt to have walked out of the cabinet meeting in a huff. Even chief secretary L V Subrahmanyam had to face a similar experience with Jagan in some issues and the latter reportedly shouted at him.

Apparently realising that Jagan is a tough nut to crack and a stubborn leader, the chief secretary told all the other IAS officers to listen to what Jagan says and tries to implement them as far as possible.

“Jagan is not a flexible leader but is stubborn. So, let us blindly follow what he says. If any scheme fails, the blame will go on to the chief minister,” the chief secretary reportedly told the other IAS officers.

Buyers Want To Trim, Producers Don’t Know What To Trim!

Share

Runtime of Dear Comrade has been the biggest complaint of all. The film has opened to decent collections but not so decent word of mouth.Even Vijay Deverakonda admitted that one will need a lot of patience to watch this film. Buyers who bought this for high prices are reportedly disappointed with the runtime.

A few buyers called the producers and asked them to trim the first half, but the producers said that they had no clue of what to edit and asked the buyers to tell what could be trimmed. There were rumors about Vijay Deverakonda’s involvement in deciding the final cut of Dear Comrade. Producers or director didn’t have any say on it.

Apparently, Vijay Deverakonda wanted all those elements that were present in Arjun Reddy so that his fans would lap it up.But the Comrade/rebel angle in the film didn’t go hand in hand with the romance part and has stick out like a sore thumb.

Marketing the film like the love story of a rebel student also seems to have backfired going by the reports.
