Roja’s husband wins elections

Share

After years of anticipation, YSRCP firebrand leader Roja’s fate changed. She won successive elections from Nagari constituency. Not just that, the party she is representing also came into power with a huge victory. However, everyone thought Roja would be inducted to the cabinet. Due to some equations, she was snubbed.

AP CM Jagan who noticed Roja getting disappointed, made her the chairman of APIIC and also allotted her cabinet rank. Now Roja is in the peak position of her political career and complimenting her is her husband, Selvamani, who won a big election.

This is nothing to do with politics as we all know Selvamani is a Tamil director and now he got elected as the President of Tamil Nadu, Film Directors Association. The elections were recently held and it was a neck-to-neck battle between Selvamani and his opponents. Seems like many had a good opinion on Selvamani and he won the election with a huge majority.

Congrats to Selvamani and also to Roja.

Lion King: Third Biggest Hollywood Hit Here

Share

Seems like last Friday’s Hollywood retreat is going to spin magic at the box office as ‘The Lion King’ is being enormously liked by kids and parents. Family audiences have rushed to theatres big time across India as the figures from the box office suggest.

For a Hollywood movie in India, The Lion King has the third biggest opening after Avengers movies. After collecting close to 20-23 crores nett on Sunday, the film posted almost 50+ crores collection in its first weekend. And with no other biggies ready to threaten its presence at the box office, it may continue its legacy for the next couple of weeks, pushing itself into the 100 crore club.

The Lion King got released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with Nani and Ravi Shankar giving voices for Simba and Mufasa in the Telugu version. The film got well received at multiplexes with almost 14% jump in the Sunday collection from what it collected on Saturday.

Though the story of The Lion King is known to everybody as the same film got made by Disney couple of times, this time they have come up with a realistic-looking version of the film like Jungle Book and that’s what impressed the audiences.

Rayapati Negotiating With BJP!

Share

The TDP is soon going to lose one more leader and he is none other than former MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao. Rayapati is the face of TDP in Guntur district as he has huge following and cadre.

Andhra Pradesh BJP which is doing ‘Operation Kamal’ is yet to hold talks with Rayapati. But the TDP leader made up his mind that there is no future for him in the cycle party.

Rayapati expected Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) chairman post when he joined TDP. Unavoidable circumstances disappointed Rayapati as then CM of AP, Chandrababu appointed Putta Sudhakar Yadav as TTD chief.

Since then Rayapati is maintaining distance from TDP. Now with the party in full crisis, Rayapati doesn’t want to waste any time by sticking to TDP.

We also hear from political circles that BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav had reportedly paid a visit to Rayapati’s residence in Guntur couple of days back. But it was a courtesy call and had no political significance. There are reports that Rayapati has laid his terms and conditions before joining BJP.

In the coming days, the top brass from BJP will negotiate things with Rayapati and will settle them.

BJP is leaving no stone unturned to grab the opposition status for time being and later will do whatever is needed to grab the power.

#BiggBoss3: Nag Rocks On Day 1

Share

As Akkineni Nagarjuna turned the host of Bigg Boss latest edition, there will be those inevitable comparisons with Jr NTR and Nani who hosted the first and second seasons. But then, Nagarjuna scored well in all the departments, thus becoming an instant super hit.

Nagarjuna invited every single celebrity to a ‘natural’ smile, grace and hospitality are simply superb. He has brought his experience as a star, his stardom, and his funny bones together to the Big Boss house, thereby making the viewer experience a pleasure. More than the contestants, it is Nagarjuna’s body language that made the introduction event so special.

The way Nag spoke in his impeccable diction, superfluous humour, bang on timing and philosophies of life with a bit of satire is too adorable. And his naughty liners like ‘give me a hug’ are instantly giving positive vibes. We have to say that Nag might stay in Big Boss for a long time, hosting a horde of seasons like Salman Khan does in Hindi arena.

“Tarak said ‘Na TV’, Nani said ‘Na Ni TV’, but now in Season 3, I will say ‘Mana TV’ for all of us,” said Nagarjuna, referring to the giant screen through which he interacts with the housemates inside the Big Boss house.

Andhra: Recommendation letters for sale

Share

Old habits die hard! Despite YS Jagan’s efforts to bring in a corrupt-free regime, there are MLAs so firmly entrenched in the system that they continue with their old ways unabated.

Whenever a government official wants a transfer to a particular place, he or she normally approaches the local MLA for his assistance.

This MLA from Nellore had won twice not because of any cadre but purely on the strength of YS Jagan’s image.

In fact, during his earlier tenure, he had even contemplated joining the TDP but later abandoned his plan.

This MLA is now giving his recommendation letters for transfer for a fixed price. And that’s not all!

Recently, a lady sub-registrar had approached him for a transfer and he asked her to deposit half of the collection by evening every day..

By encouraging promotions and transfers on the basis of seniority and doing away with recommendations, the government will earn the goodwill of the people apart from curbing such practices.

Who is performing how in Andhra assembly?

Share

The ongoing budget session of Andhra Pradesh assembly has given an excellent opportunity for the newly-elected MLAs to exhibit their skills as orators, knowledge in subjects and ability to represent the issues of their constituency in the assembly.

It is nothing but natural that the ruling party members, by virtue of their strength in the assembly, try to bulldoze the proceedings, while the opposition party members try to corner the government on various issues.

A broad assessment of the performance of the MLAs and ministers in the ongoing assembly has revealed that not many of them had used the opportunity.

While some ministers and MLAs proved their worth, others, especially new comers, are not behaving in a dignified way, but are displaying overenthusiasm.

For example, among the ministers, finance minister Buggana Rajendranath turned out to be a big asset for the party.

He not only presented the ruling party version in an excellent manner, but also attacked the opposition in a dignified manner.

On the other hand, the worst performer of the cabinet was irrigation minister Anil Kumar, whose loose tongue and aggressive posture did not get appreciation from to the people.

Even senior ministers like Botsa Satyanarayana and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, despite having huge experience, could not behave properly in the House in their eagerness to run down the opposition.

Among the ruling party MLAs, Ambati Rambabu and G Srikanth Reddy spoke in a decent manner and of course and stuck to their subjects, while many other MLAs whoever got an opportunity to speak could not prove their worth.

As regards the TDP, too, the performance of the MLAs is far from satisfactory.

While Payyavula Kesav and Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary appeared decent in their behaviour, others like K Atchen Naidu and Nimmala Rama Naidu turned out to be irritants.

Shame Jagan in Parliament: Naidu to party MPs!

Share

TDP president and former AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu has asked his party MPs to shame YSRCP president and AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Parliament by frequently raising CBI, ED cases filed against Jagan, stage protest on why CBI, ED are going slow on investigating Jagan cases, raise the issue of why Jagan was given ‘secret exemption’ from attending CBI fast track court in Hyderabad every Friday etc.

TDP currently has three Lok Sabha members and two Rajya Sabha members in the Parliament.

Though there were 6 Rajya Sabha members for TDP till recently, four of them joined BJP last month.

Naidu asked his five-party MPs to utilise the Parliament session whenever held to shame Jagan by raises cases booked against him.

Naidu also asked his party MPs to take up the issue of how Jagan destroyed “Brand Amaravathi” that he had built over the past five years with his hasty decisions and witch-hunting politics by demolishing Praja Vedika, stopping all construction works in Amaravathi, cancellation of international fights from Vijayawada and forcing investors and industrialists to reserve 75 per cent of jobs to locals due to which investors are running away from Amaravathi and shifting their base to Hyderabad.

Naidu wants all national and regional parties in the country to know what exactly is happening in Andhra Pradesh after the power was handed over to an ill-experienced and arrogant CM like Jagan and how the situation of Andhra Pradesh has turned from bad to worse within two months of Jagan taking over as CM.

Naidu also wants party MPs to raise the issue of reviewing all the PPAs (power purchasing agreements) despite union power minister and secretary writing to Jagan not to do so as it would affect the power and investment climate in AP.

Following Naidu’s directions, party MPs have geared up to raise all these issues in Parliament in the ongoing budget session.

It remains to be seen how the 22-member strong YSRCP team in Lok Sabha and 2 members in Rajya Sabha would counter Naidu’s strategy in Parliament.

Puri Jagannadh’s Debts Are Cleared

Director Puri Jagannadh has been in a huge financial mess. He owes crores of money to the lenders and financiers as he had seen only duds in recent times. His previous production “Mehbooba” that introduced his son Akash Puri as a lead hero was a huge loss venture. The film added more debts to his already misery state.

Kondareddy Buruju Comes To RFC For Mahesh Babu

Share

Who can forget the iconic scene from Okkadu film that was shot in front of Kurnool’s Kondareddy Buruju?
The historical fort is going to be a key part in Mahesh’s upcoming Sarileru Neekevvaru.

Director Anil Ravipudi planned many scenes in the backdrop of Kondareddy Buruju and hence they are erecting a huge set in Ramoji Film City that costs Rs. 4 Crore.

Kondareddy Buruju and the surrounding streets are being recreated for Sarileru Neekevvaru.

Mahesh went to Kurnool and shot in front of the real monument for Okkadu. But Kondareddy Fort has moved to RFC for Sarileru Neekevvaru.

This is exciting news for Mahesh fans as they expect this film to be as iconic as Okkadu for Mahesh.

The film bankrolled by Mahesh, Dil Raju and Anil Ravipudi is going on at a brisk pace and will complete its filming by the end of November.

Sarileru Neekevvaru is slated for release on January 10, 2020.

Rashmika Mandanna is the female lead and Vijayashanti is making a comeback in a pivotal role.

Vijay Deverakonda sets another trend

Share

Hero Vijay Deverakonda has his own style of promoting and marketing his films. For ‘Dear Comrade’ he has set another new trend.

As the audio of the film got a good feedback, Vijay has called for a music festival and he hosted it in Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai and Hyderabad.

All the events got a huge response such that at Bengaluru, the police had to do lathicharge to control the crowd.

The last night show in Hyderabad was a packed one. Vijay fans flocked in unexpected number but this adequate arrangements were made.

Unlike in regular audio events where heroes came late and see the performances of dancers, here Vijay Deverakonda danced, crooned on the stage along with Rashmika Mandanna, music composer Justin Prabhakaran and set the dais on fire.

Vijay personally monitored every event’s programs to entertain the spectators.

It is heard that many heroes of TFI have noticed Vijay Deverakonda’s extensive promotions and are feeling insecure. Who knows they might also come up with such thoughts in future.

For sure Vijay Deverakonda is making the others think about movie promotions.
