Gorantla Madhav has the last laugh!
Police officer Gorantla Madhav, who resigned from his post of circle inspector of Kadiri police station in Anantapur to contest as YSR Congress party candidate from Hindupur Lok Sabha constituency, finally succeeded in his attempts to file the nomination.
On Monday, the last day of nominations for the general elections in AP, Madhav got a big relief from the state high court which granted him permission to file the nominations.
It was a sort of psychological victory for him, as the police department refused his application for voluntary retirement on the pretext that two charge memos were pending against him in connection with certain alleged irregularities in the past.
He would have become unfit to contest the elections, as Election Commission would reject Madhav’s nomination on the grounds that his resignation had not been accepted.
To be on the safe side, the YSR Congress party made arrangements to field alternative candidates, including Madhav’s wife.
In the meantime, Madhav moved the court, which delivered its judgement on Monday after prolonged hearings. He immediately rushed to the returning officer to file the nomination.
Madhav hit the headlines a few months ago threatening to slash the tongue of firebrand TDP MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy.
He clashed with Diwakar Reddy who alleged that the police had miserably failed in controlling the violence in Tadipatri mandal that took place during the Ganesh Nimajjan festivities at Swamy Prabobhananda Ashram.
Since Madhav belongs to Kurubala caste which had big representation of voters in Hindupur Lok Sabha segment, Jagan preferred to field him from the constituency.
Transgender to fight against Lokesh!
Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh, who is contesting as party candidate from Mangalagiri assembly constituency, will have to fight not only with sitting YSR Congress party MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, but also from a transgender.
On Monday, the last day for filing nominations, a transgender Tamanna Simhadri filed her nomination papers in Mangalagiri as an independent.
She is the first and only candidate belonging to third sex to contest the elections in Andhra Pradesh so far.
Tamanna, a native of Vijayawada, said she had decided to enter the fray to fight for the rights of her community.
“These days, elections have become a game for only rich and mighty. Only those with huge money power are able to become MLAs and MPs. I am only trying to put an end to this practice and show that even a transgender can champion the cause of the people,” she said.
The transgender candidate said she had no family and so, there was no need for her to run after money.
“I will be available to the people round the clock, if I am elected to the assembly,” she said.
Taking an indirect dig at the contest by Nara Lokesh, Tamanna said she would fight against the dynasty politics and money power. She preferred to contest as an independent, as she said she had no faith in any political party.
By the way, Tamanna is not uneducated. She had done her graduation from Indira Gandhi Open University. As per her election affidavit, she has no assets except a bank balance of Rs 50,000.
Manchu Family To Join YSRCP
Fire brand film star Mohan Babu is all set to re-enter into politics. With only a few more days left for elections in Andhra Pradesh (April 11, 2019) and nominations date concluding today (25th March, 2019), Manchu Mohan Babu is all set to join in YCP. Mohan Babu along with his family will be meeting YS Jagan to join YCP officially in a couple of days.
Mohan Babu’s elder son Vishnu Manchu has been married into YS family. Vishnu is married to Viranica Reddy, cousin of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Since then, Manchu family and YS family have developed good bond. Mohan Babu’s younger son Manchu Manoj has almost quit films and is focusing on politics. Taking this to the new level, Manchu family has now decided to extend its full support to YS Jagan politically.
Mohan Babu had earlier served as TDP’s Rajya Sabha MP in 1995 and completed 6 years of tenure. He later quit TDP and returned to films. After a long gap, he is now returning to politics. His recent public outrage over the delay in the fee reimbursement and his allegations against CM Chandrababu Naidu have became a hot topic in political circuits. Just days after his open protest, Mohan Babu’s joining into YCP come as a no big surprise to political pundits.
Chandrababu Hits Six: To hike pension to Rs. 3000 ?
In a changing political narrative and the heat of elections looming over, political parties in Andhra Pradesh are going all out to woo voters with freebies and schemes, if they win and form a government. With YSR Congress President, announcing Rs. 3000 pension for senior citizens last month in Tirupati, AP chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu now has announced that if they win again, they will increase the pensions from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000.
The TDP government already hiked the pension from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000, this year with an eye on elections. Now, the TDP chief has gone further and promised to decrease the age eligibility for senior citizens so that others also can benefit from the state’s pension scheme. Not stopping at that, Chandrababu also is planning to announce free houses in 300 sq.yards for the poor where the government will take up the onus of constructing these houses.
According to TDP sources, this was told to all the party members in a teleconference. Furthermore, the TDP chief also said that TDP leaders should highlight how Jagan becoming CM of AP could turn out to be a disaster as he could grab people’s hard-earned lands and give way to land encroachments. “KCR wants Jagan in AP because he has understood that Hyderabad’s investors are looking at our state. He wants a weak government like Jagan’s so that Hyderabad regains its investors who will stay put in the city if AP doesn’t develop. This is exactly what KCR wants,” he told his partymen.
Stoking the “Andhra” sentiment again, Chandrababu said that the victory of even one YSRCP MLA or MP means that “we, the people of Andhra are letting KCR and KTR rule us,” he said, adding that people’s pension, water to drought-hit regions and farmlands and every other benefit will come to a grinding halt if Jagan comes to power. Looks like the ruling TDP is going all out to ensure that it retain power this time to complete all the pending works it began five years ago!
I Am Happy To Join The Indian Legends -Mahesh Babu
Much awaited wax statue of Mahesh Babu which will be exhibited at Madame Tussauds in Singapore is unveiled in Hyderabad today. Speaking on the occasion, the Superstar felt quite happy and revealed some interesting things.
“The statue is freaking me out, because it is very real, and it can’t get any better than this,” said Mahesh, talking about the statue, whose strands of hair is individually placed by the team of sculptors, making it look super realistic. When asked about the moment, Mahesh also added that he is happy to join other legends in Singapore. “It’s an honor that I’ve got my wax sculpture and it will be placed alongside many legends of Indian cinema in Singapore. There couldn’t be more happiness than this” he says.
At the same time, Mahesh also stated when he first felt like having a statue for himself. “Six years ago I went to London with family and then visited Madame Tussauds there. Then I felt, one day even I should also have my statue erected and today here we are” he asserted.
Talking about the statue, with Mahesh on the other side of it, his wife Namrata jokingly said, “I think I’ve two husbands now”
YS Sharmila On Pawan Kalyan & Not Contesting in Polls
YS Sharmila has briefed media in which she has made several interesting points. When asked about why she is not contesting on YCP ticket, she has avoided the question smartly and said, “YSRCP will win with bumper majority in coming elections.” On being prodded, she said whether she contests or not, YCP will win with a huge majority.
Sharmila has attacked actor Pawan Kalyan. Talking about Pawan, Sharmila said, “Pawan Kalyan is an actor. Chandrababu Naidu is a director. Pawan is acting as per the directions from Chandrababu. This is very evident.” Sharmila said she spotted Pasupu (TDP) cadre during the nomination of Pawan. She alleged a collude between Janasena and TDP.
YS Sharmila has made severe comments on senior politician like Chandrababu. Using harsh words like “Siggunda”, “Gadidalu Kasara”, Sharmila questioned what Chandrababu has done all these 5 years and why is now coming up with the slogan of ‘Mee Bhavishyattu, Na Badhyatha” (Your Future Is My Responsibility).
When asked about whether elections in AP are between Chandrababu and KCR, Sharmila shot back saying how can elections in AP be held between Chandrababu and KCR. She said KCR has won with thumping majority in Telangana and hence she said the question itself is wrong and has no significance.
Sharmila defended her brother YS Jagan and exuded confidence that her brother and his party YCP is going to come to power very soon. Overall, Sharmila’s press briefing was not so great as she abruptly cut down the questions posed by journos and gave them cut-short answers without elaborating. Instead, she questioned back journalists to ask the questions to Pawan and Chandrababu.
Beware of actor and partner of Chandrababu: YS Jagan
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has targeted AP CM Chandrabau, Jana Sena Pawan Kalyan and Praja Shanti KA Paul in his speech. Jagan on Sunday campaigned in Guntur district and addressing the public he said, “Even Chandrababu knew about anti-incumbency against his government. In order to divide the votes, he has brought in an actor and a partner,” said Jagan.
“This actor and partner will do whatever Chandrababu say. From speaking in the election campaign to selecting candidates for fighting the elections, everything has Chandrababu’s mark. Even his partner’s party flag resembles like that of YSR Congress party’s. I would like to ask this actor and partner why they are playing hide & seek instead should come out openly and reveal their hidden agenda. If they do so even the actor and partner knew that they would lose their deposit in the elections,” said Jagan.
The opposition leader then lashed out Chandrababu and questioned what is stopping him from giving the murder case of YS Vivekananda Reddy to CBI. “With elections approaching Chandrababu will try to influence voters with money. I request all to not get carried away and inform everyone that I will be the chief minister in the coming days. The ‘Nava Ratnalu’ scheme will be successfully implemented which will benefit the poor,” added Jagan.
Advani is pained by Modi-Shah arrogance!
BJP senior leader L.K. Advani is hurt with the demeanour of the party leaders at the helm of the affairs. According to sources close to the senior leader, Advani was disappointed on not finding his name in the 1st list of party Lok Sabha candidates released and fielding of the party chief Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, the constituency which he holds close to his heart.
Adding insult to the injury, Advani was not even informed about this change in the decision by the party men. It is learnt that the party senior leader was in fact not hurt over not being fielded as a candidate in General Elections but that the party leaders ignored him and had taken decisions on their own without passing on important information to him.
He is pained over not being consulted either during the preparation of the list or after that, even as a matter of courtesy. Meanwhile, the BJP leadership has taken a decision to ensure that young leaders are given a chance under Modi-Shah leadership, unlike the veterans who still expect tickets. It is said that this could have been a possible reason why BJP has chosen to carefully sideline its veteran leader.
It is learnt that some sections of the BJP are pushing Advani to give a strict warning to the Modi-Shah duo over their arrogant attitude within the party, that is upsetting several leaders. On the other hand, it is learnt that Advani is also preparing to confront the Modi-Shah duo and given them an earful to bring back the party’s values of respecting each other, even if they are not given a ticket.
Pawan’s Fans: Three Wickets Fell Already
Whether they are giving money or just they are offering something or just some forces are pressurizing them to speak that way is not known, one by one we have seen how those so-called self-proclaiming fans of Pawan Kalyan turning their backs on the Janasena supremo.
First of all, we have Posani Krishnamurali who always claimed that he has immense respect for Pawan Kalyan. Even though he blasted Nara Chandrababu Naidu quite vulgarly, he never slipped his lip on the Janasena supremo. But then, he blasted Pawan other day for saying that Andhraites are no safe in Telangana. Posani leveled some serious allegations on Pawan saying that he got sold out to Telugudesam party. Wonder, why Posani is feeling that PK is not a suitable leader only when the latter blasted YS Jagan.
Then we have writer Chinni Krishna who was given shelter and money by Mega family, lakhs of rupees remuneration and also some stardom. Other day he accused that Pawan never respects Telugu people as he always works with Tamil writers and directors. He went on saying some laughable things like the mega family did nothing to Telugu industry. Earlier Chinni Krishna is the one who applauded Pawan’s Common Man Protection Force and he even tried to become an advisor of PK when Janasena was formed. But now, this writer feels that Jagan is an innocent man working hard to serve AP people where Pawan is some rich brat making false comments.
And then comes Kona Venkat, who has other day vowed to support YS Jagan in the ongoing AP election battle. He is busy keeping social media alert with his tributes to Jagan and other day in his interview in Sakshi paper he wanted all the Brahmins to vote for Jagan only. He also alleged that though Pawan is his good friend, the Janasena president is making all the wrong moves in politics. That way Kona too turned back against PK.
Interestingly all these three are writers only and one wonders why they want to target Pawan Kalyan now. Of course, the fact is that they don’t have a good writing career anymore so commenting Pawan won’t affect their prospects. But then, why did they joined YSRC chorus is the big thing they have to tell. And now we have to see how many more wickets will fall in YSRC trap, to attack Pawan Kalyan.

India’s navy timely help to Mozambique Cyclone victims
After a horrific and disastrous cyclone Idai in Mozambique, yesterday, the Indian Navy has rescued over 192 people as a part of relief operations. The Navy has also set up medical camps, assisting 1,381 affected people.
On March 15, Cyclone Idai has destroyed almost everything in East and Southern Africa and many people lost their lives and shelters. There was no power and food for a few days in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
It is reported that Mozambique has raised a request and India immediately diverted three naval ships, INS Sujata, ICGS Sarathi and INS Shardul to the port city of Beira. These ships are busy with Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief from past few days in coordination with local authorities and the High Commission of India, Maputo.
Moreover, India’s Chetak helicopter helped in finding out the intensity of the disaster through an aerial survey. It could help victims by dropping food, medicines, clothes, and water packets in the cyclone-affected areas. We salute the Indian Navy as it is the first responder to the cyclone Idai in Mozambique.
