Chandrababu Naidu unhappy with Mamata!
Till the other day, Trinamul Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was a role model for Telugu Desam Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He went to the extent of projecting her as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the country and campaigned for her party in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
Naidu went to Kolkata at least half a dozen times as part of his efforts to stitch up an anti-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition at the national level.
After the TDP’s humiliating debacle in the assembly elections and also the big loss of opposition at the national level, Naidu has lost interest in the national politics also.
However, he was in good terms with Mamata even after the elections and condemned the post-poll violence in Bengal.
But now, Naidu is said to be terribly upset with Mamata these days. Reason: She has decided to engage the services of popular political strategist Prashant Kishor for the next assembly elections in West Bengal to counter the BJP.
Prashant, as everybody knows, played a key role in the victory of YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the recent assembly elections in AP.
His team Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) came up with several programmes to target the TDP.
Prashant himself used to make strong comments against Naidu, when the latter called him a Bihari criminal. So, Naidu treats Prashant as a big enemy.
Since Mamata has signed an agreement with Prashant now, Naidu is not able to digest the same. He has learnt to have decided to keep away from any programme that involves Mamata hereafter.
Roja says she is not Reddy after marriage!
Firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari assembly constituency in Chittoor district R K Roja finally met her party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Tadepalli camp office on Tuesday evening.
Roja appeared all smiling before the camera as she posed with Jagan, but it is not known what assurance Jagan had given to her. But going by her facial expressions, it looks like the boss had promised her a plum post.
However, before meeting Jagan, Roja was looking very tense as she spoke to media in Vijayawada. She said the media had predicted that she would get a cabinet berth and even given her portfolio.
“I could not get the ministry due to caste equations. Jagan has tried to balance various castes in the cabinet and do social justice. But, the fact is that I was never associated with my Reddy community after marriage. I am married to a BC. And all my friends, relatives and associates including my PA belong to different castes,” she said.
One wonders whether one’s caste would change if one marries a person of other caste. In case of Roja, the YSRC chief must have got a different reason for denying the cabinet berth.
“She is a fighter no doubt, but at the same time, she also has a loose tongue and that landed her and also the party in troubles in the past. May that is one of the reasons why Jagan did not consider her name for the cabinet,” a party source said.
But, her loyalty to the party will definitely be recognized and it is only a matter of time that Roja will get a prominent post in the government.
RP’s Charges On TV9 Promoters Baseless!
Alanda Media & Entertainments Private Limited which took over the management of popular Telugu television channel TV9 on Tuesday strongly denied the allegations made by former CEO of the channel V Ravi Prakash against the former promoters Chintalapati Holdings Private Limited and ilabs Venture Capital Fund.
Ravi Prakash alleged that the entire amount involved in share transfer between the previous and present managements had come through hawala routes and that they has siphoned off Rs 294 crore to foreign shores.
In a statement, Alanda and former promoters strongly denied the allegations.
Here is the text of the statement:
“Today it has come to our knowledge through various news articles that Mr. Ravi Prakash, the former CEO of Associated Broadcasting Company Limited (“ABCL”) made complaints to investigating authorities by making some unfounded and baseless allegations against the current and former promoters of ABCL regarding transfer of shareholding from the former promoters (Chintalapati Holdings Private Limited and Ilabs Venture Capital Fund (“CHPL / Ilabs”)) to the current promoters (Alanda Media & Entertainments Private Limited (“Alanda”)).
In these complaints, it appears that Mr. Ravi Prakash has alleged that the sale consideration for acquisition of shareholding was paid by way of cash and the hawala route was invoked for transferring the consideration.
On behalf of the current and former promoters, we are issuing this joint press release to inform one and all that there is not even an iota of truth in the false and baseless allegations made by Mr. Ravi Prakash.
These allegations are being made solely with an intent to divert attention from the ongoing criminal investigations against Ravi Prakash for his wrongful and fraudulent conduct.
As of August, 2018, CHPL, Ilabs, Clifford Pereira and M.V.K.N. Murthy held total shareholding of 90.54% in ABCL. On August 24, 2018, Alanda Media acquired the said share holding from CHPL, Ilabs, Clifford Pereira and M.V.K.N. Murthy.
The entire consideration for the purchase of the said shareholding was made pursuant to duly executed Share Purchase Agreement and exclusively through the bank channels.
There were no cash payments. Alanda had infused Rs. 150 crores into ABCL to clear the outstanding dues and paid an amount of Rs. 264 crores to the former promoters and other shareholders towards consideration for transferring their shareholding.
The share consideration has been duly reflected in the records of the current and former promoters.
The Ministry of Information and Broad Casting, Government of India was also intimated about the said transfer. There is nothing clandestine about this transfer of shares and is done in accordance with the law.
The entire transfer happened in August, 2018. Mr. Ravi Prakash was a party to the Share Purchase Agreement and the entire transfer happened with his knowledge.
However, after nine (9) months, Mr. Ravi Prakash has now chosen to make these allegations only with the hope that it will provide him with a defence in the ongoing investigations into the criminal acts committed by him.
We understand that certain allegations have also been made with respect to the proposed settlement with SAIF III Mauritius Company Limited (“SAIF”).
Even these allegations are without any basis. As on the date of the acquisition, there was a dispute pending in the National Company Law Tribunal, Hyderabad (“NCLT”) for shares held by SAIF in IVision Media India Private Limited (“IVision”). This dispute was duly settled pursuant to a Settlement Agreement.
The settlement consideration was transferred by way of regular banking channels and in accordance with the RBI regulations. After the remittance, NCLT permitted the SAIF to withdraw its case.
We request one and all not to be influenced by his allegations and dismiss them with a contempt that they deserve. We will be taking legal steps for false and defamatory allegations made by Mr. Ravi Prakash.”
I’ve Married a BC: Roja Reddy on Caste & Minister Post
Roja, whose name is missing in Jagan’s cabinet list, has been unavailable to the party leaders for the last two days. Roja’s mobile number too was said to be ‘switched off’ and she was not available to party’s leaders and followers after Jagan confirmed ministries to 25 members.
A day before Assembly session, Roja has surfaced. When media has tried to grill him, Roja tried to ‘cover up’ and said she is happy that her fellow MLAs got ministries and conveyed ‘best wishes’ to all who got ministries.
Talking about caste equations, Roja said, “For first time, social engineering (Samajika Nyayam) has been worked out. It is good. But I have never associated myself with my caste (Reddy). I’ve got married to a BC. Even my PA, driver, my assistants and my friends are from different castes.” Roja looked emotional for not getting ministry. Her face turned into ‘red’. She tried to cover up her ‘disappointment’ on camera.
When asked about whether she would meet YS Jagan, Roja gently replied, “If I get a call from YS Jagan, I will meet him.” She said she hasn’t got any call from Jagan or Vijay Sai Reddy for not being given a ministry. Roja is favourite name among the probables of ministers by media. Now it is buzzed that she would get a nominated post. Responding to it, hopeless Roja said, “It was all media creation. My name is speculated for various ministries. Now you are speculating that I would get nominated post. Let’s see.”
On the whole, Roja looked quite dull. Her disappointment is clearly visible on her face and her words. As Assembly session is all set to begin tomorrow, two-time MLA Roja’s comments have created a stir among her followers and fans.
BJP offers LS deputy speaker post to YSRCP!
YSR Congress Party, the fourth largest party in Lok Sabha, has been reportedly offered the ‘Deputy Speaker’ post in Lok Sabha by Bharatiya Janata Party. Generally, the third largest party in Lok Sabha gets this post, but leaders from four different parties contested on DMK (third largest party in LS) symbol in Tamil Nadu. So, YSRCP was the certain choice of BJP.
Following this offer from BJP, YS Jagan is planning to select a female MP for that post. Araku MP Goddeti Madhavi and MP of Amalapuram, Chinta Anuradha are said to be in the race from YSRCP. On other hand, Shiv Sena, being the key partner of BJP, also is demanding the deputy speaker post.
In the meanwhile, BJP has elected six-time Lok Sabha MP of Madhya Pradesh, Virendra Kumar as pro-tem speaker of 17th Lok Sabha.

Allu Arjun As A Software Engineer!
Except playing the role of a smart software engineer with a bit of conning to his characterisation in Arya 2, Allu Arjun hasn’t appeared as an IT guy in any of his films. But it looks like director Trivikram wants to turn him into that most hype profession for their next movie.
Apparently, some pictures of Allu Arjun that were allegedly shot at the shooting spot of his next film are doing rounds on the internet now. The pictures show Bunny slipping into formals and wearing a ‘tag’ around his neck. Though he’s not wearing any footwear in this particular picture, it looks like the actor will be seen as some corporate office employee in the movie, whether it is an IT job or not.
According to the grapevine, currently the romantic track of Allu Arjun and dusky beauty Pooja Hegde is being filmed. And then the likes of Tabu and Sushanth are also taking part in this shoot, which is being carved at a jet speed by Trivikram. At the same time, Thaman is said to have given a terrific tune to film a superb song in the office location.
