20 Crores Market Dead For These Heroes

Share

The likes of Vijay, Danush and Ajith are talented mass stars but they never opened their account here in Telugu states. However, the people of Andhra and Telangana have given a special place to the likes of Vikram, Surya and Karthi here.

Not just special place, but the likes of Vikram and Surya have carved themselves a cool 20 crores market here. That is equal to the likes of how a Nani, Sharwanand and Sai Dharam Tej used to do earlier. Guess what, both these star heroes from the neighbourhood state has killed their market gradually.

Film after film, these heroes not only failed to deliver excitement and entertainment but their lust to occupy the total screen time and to play all the characters themselves, has literally bored audiences. The failure of NGK at the box office with just 5 crores collection after the first week, is an example of how Surya’s market got crushed. Same is the case with Vikram’s market too. These two heroes need some terrific films now in order to revive their market.

The only Tamil hero we left out is Rajnikanth, as his flop films are also making good collections in Telugu states, which says, his stardom is of different level.

Samantha Turns Up In Short Dress, Crowds Go Berserk

Share

Samantha’s radiating presence at every single event is quite authoritarian that she grabs all the attention. During the start of her career, she turned up for events in some ravishing hot outfits and her navel stud used to be the eyeball grabber. That’s how she evolved as the fashion star of Tollywood.

Other day Samantha attended the launch of an exclusive Mobile store of a happening mobile brand in Hyderabad which took place at a shopping mall. Dressed in a yellow short dress that flaunted the best of her curves, our hottie looked quite alluring, we have to say.

Flaunting her toned legs in that short yellow outfit that has blue-red coloured flowers printed all over it, Samantha looked like a fairy without wings. Also, this chic look of her made the crowds at the event go berserk. Surely they haven’t caught her in such a hot outfit at a public event in recent times.

Latest Pic: Ravela with Kanna!

From Telugu Desam Party to Janasena Party to finally BJP. This is ex minister Ravela Kishore Babu’s journey and his political transfers continue. Ravela Kishore Babu, who has submitted his resignation to Janasena party on Saturday, shocked one and all by meeting Kanna Lakshminarayan the same day. Ravela met Kanna in Tirupati and evinced his interest to join BJP. Kanna said to have welcomed Ravela into the BJP fold.

As Narendra Modi arrives today in Tirupati for Lord Balaji’s darshan in Tirumala, BJP’s tall leaders and party workers from both the Telugu states have gathered in Tirupati in large numbers. Several political leaders of AP have joined into BJP in the presence of Kanna.

However, Ravela’s entry into BJP has got a lot of attention though. This is indeed Modi and Amit Shah-mark shock to Pawan Kalyan and Janasena.

Andhra Cabinet mix of experience and youth

Share

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh’s new 25-member Cabinet, which was sworn in on Saturday, is a mix of experience and youth as Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has also rewarded the loyalists.

Striking a balance, Jagan Reddy has also tried to ensure proper representation to the regions and various castes.

Six of the Ministers he inducted into his Cabinet were loyalists of his late father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was popularly known as YSR.

They had served in the Congress government headed by YSR in undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2004-09. The Ministers were re-inducted after YSR retained power in 2009.

Following YSR’s death in a helicopter crash a few months later, some of them had served under his successors K. Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy but subsequently switched loyalties to Jagan Reddy, who quit the Congress to float the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in 2011.

Though P. Subhash Chandra Bose and Mopidevi Venkatramna were defeated in the Assembly elections, the YSRCP chief inducted them to reward them for their loyalty and also to have experienced hands in the government.

Jagan, as the Chief Minister is known among his supporters, also rewarded those who stood by him through thick and thin.

However, in an attempt to give representation to different caste groups, he also had to ignore some seniors and those considered close to him.

In an unprecedented move, Jagan announced that he will have five Deputy Chief Ministers, one each from the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), minorities and Kapus.

Though a symbolic gesture considering the fact that power will be concentrated in the hands of the Chief Minister and a couple of the leaders close to him, it is considered a significant move aimed at social outreach.

The YSRCP chief wants to show that he is giving importance to the communities whose support helped the party storm to power with a landslide majority.

Jagan has also given 60 per cent of the cabinet berths to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. There are seven ministers from BCs, five from SCs and one each from STs and minorities.

The remaining 11 berths have gone to other castes. Kapus, a numerically significant caste in parts of south coastal Andhra, were given four berths. Reddys, a dominant caste in the party, were also given four ministries. Kammas, Vyshyas and Kshatriyas got one berth each.

Jagan also gave importance to young blood in his ministry. Like the 46-year-old Jagan, the majority of the Ministers have no previous experience of working in a government and were elected to the Assembly for the second or third time. Almost all leaders had come to YSRCP from either the Congress or the the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Most of these Ministers are aged between 45-55 years.

At 33, P. Pushpa Sreevani is the youngest in Jagan’s Cabinet. Re-elected from Kurupam constituency in Vizianagaram district for a second consecutive term, she is one of the three women to find place in the Cabinet.

Sreevani, who has done B.Ed. from Andhra University, showed cultivation as her occupation in the affidavit filed by her while submitting her nomination to the Election Commission.

P. Anil Kumar is the second youngest. The 38-year-old was re-elected from Nellore City constituency. A Bachelor in Dental Surgery, he is into the real estate business.

Another prominent name is Kodali Sri Venkateswar Rao, popularly known as Kodali Nani. Once an active leader of the TDP in Krishna district, he quit the party to join the YSRCP in 2012.

The 47-year-old, who failed in the 10th standard, is a close friend of popular actor Junior NTR, grandson of TDP founder and former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, who was popular as NTR.

Nani was re-elected from Gudivada constituency for a fourth time.

Andhra gets woman home minister!

Share

Andhra Pradesh has now got a first woman home minister and not just that, a Dalit home minister.

In yet another bold decision, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy designated Mekathoti Sucharita as the home minister.

A Dalit representing Prathipadu (SC) reserved constituency in Guntur district, Sucharita is the first home minister in the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh.

In the past, the only woman home minister was Sabita Indra Reddy in the combined Andhra Pradesh. She was chosen by Jagan’s father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, in 2009.

Along with Sucharita, 24 others were sworn in as the ministers in Jagan cabinet at a grand ceremony in the premises of secretariat at Velagapudi.

Governor E S L Narasimhan administered oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at the ceremony which commenced at 11.49 am. The chief minister allotted portfolios to the newly-inducted ministers later in the evening,

Jagan already designated five ministers in the cabinet as deputy chief ministers, but did not give them major portfolios. They are: Pamula Pushpa Sri Vani (tribal welfare), Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose (revenue, stamps and registration), Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas alias Alla Nani (health, family welfare and medical education), K Narayana Swamy (Excise and Prohibition), Amzad Basha Sheik Bepari (Minority welfare).

Firebrand MLA from Nagari R K Roja who belongs to Reddy community, was disappointed being left out of the cabinet.

A deeply hurt Roja left Vijayawada on Friday night despite of a call from Jagan’s office to make herself available on Saturday and abstained from swearing in ceremony.

There are 11 from forward castes, 7 from backward classes, 5 SCs and one each from ST and minority communities.

There are only four from Reddy community — Balineni Srinivasa Reddy (Ongole), Mekapati Gowtham Reddy (Atmakuru), Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy (Punganur), and Buggana Rajendra Nath Reddy (Done).

Coastal Andhra got major share in the cabinet. East and West Godavari and Krishna districts got 3 berths each. Vizianagaram, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor and Kurnool got two each.

Jagan’s native Kadapa district got one berth. Srikakulam and Anantapur also got one each.

Jagan showers sops on employees!

Share

When Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was in power till recently, he made every attempt to woo the employees with various facilities – five-day week, raising of retirement age from 58 to 60 and construction of residential quarters for government employees in Amaravati etc.

But what he forgot was their immediate demands – payment of interim relief pending revision of their pay scales and scrapping of contributory pension scheme (CPS).

In fact, doing away with CPS has been the demand of government employees in all the states, but no government dared to implement it.

However, on Saturday, new chief minister of Andhra Pradesh took the bold decision of scrapping the CPS.

The YSRC chief made the announcement at an interaction with the employees soon after taking the charge in the official chambers of the chief minister at Secretariat.

He said the state Cabinet which would be meeting on Monday would take an official decision on doing away with the CPS and restoring the old pension scheme.

Jagan also announced granting of 27% of the salary as Interim Relief to all the employees, pending revision of their pay scales.

Besides, the YSRC president also declared increase in the salaries of contract works with immediate effect.

“We will also consider the demand for regularisation of jobs of contract workers depending on their experience and qualifications,” he said.

Trade: A Huge Disaster At The Box Office

Share

RX 100 fame Karthikeya has shown over confidence in his latest film Hippi. He stated that it would be ten time to that of RX 100.

He has not only overestimated his potential but also wrongly estimated the film to take box office by storm.

The film’s chances looked bleak even before its theatrical release as there wasn’t any buzz around it.

Hippi opened to miserable collections everywhere and has just collected around Rs. 70 lakhs in its first two days. The film is sure to crash further from Monday, meaning it is heading for a huge disaster.

Karthikeya and the makers of Hippi believed that he has immense following among the youth after RX 100.

The makers also made sure to have masala elements like skin show, lip locks and double meaning dialogues so that it attracts the younger crowds and a section of masses. But the ploy backfired big time and has taught a lesson to the young actor.

Other releases like 7 and Killer also haven’t shown any impact at the ticket windows. It is yet another disappointing weekend for Telugu Cinema box office.

Ravela Kishore Babu resigns Janasena!!

Share

If a party loses big time, then many from the party will be quitting post the elections. And with Pawan Kalyan led Janasena Party not able to clean sweep anything except for a eat in the recently concluded general election, surely many losers and leaders are expected to fly to other parties.

Though many leaders in Janasena including that of Marisetty Raghavaiah and others have quit party already, they are neither political biggies nor held at the public office earlier. But the biggest blow comes in the form of a senior politician from Guntur, Ravela Kishore Babu’s exit from the party. Today he has submitted his resignation to Party president, saying that personal reasons are responsible for his exit.

Ravela has this unique distinction of being the first ever sitting MLA to quit his public office and also Ministerial berth to join Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party. Now that he has quit, rumours are doing rounds that he might join either BJP or YSRCongress.

Modi’s ‘Thulabaram’ ceremony

Share

As planned before, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today, has arrived in Thrissur, Kerala, to offer prayers at the Guruvayur temple post his massive victory at the Lok Sabha elections. He took accommodation at a government guest house. He performed the ‘thulabharam’ ceremony and offered lotuses for his prayers, which is the BJP symbol.

The pictures went viral where PM is seen weighed on scales with lotuses and the flowers and later were later offered for prayers at the Sri Krishna temple. Buzz: Mahesh’s Love Track In A Train

Share

Once Mahesh Babu returns from his London holiday, he will be playing the role of Army Major in ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ that is being directed by Anil Ravipudi. Here comes an interesting snippet regarding this movie as the team is busy with pre-production stuff.

Reportedly the love story track between Mahesh and his lady love, being played by Rashmika Mandanna, will be pretty interesting they say. It’s heard that when Mahesh is travelling to Andhra from Kashmir via train, the whole love story takes place. There are many films that boasted such train-journey based love tracks, but this one is penned in a different way, says a source.

Surely Mahesh is coming up with a different commercial entertainer from what he is delivering in the last couple of years. It looks like he wants to give all sorts of relief from the kind of serious preachy cinema he has come up all these days.
