Brochevarevarura Movie Review
The collaboration of Sree Vishnu and Vivek Athreya, of Mental Madhilo fame, did create curiosity. The addition of Nivetha Thomas, Nivetha Pethuraj, Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna has added to the buzz. The film’s teaser and trailer did work in the favour of the film. Without much delay, let’s check out our take on Brochevarevarura.
What is it about?
Rahul (Sree Vishnu), Rakesh (Priyadarshi) and Rambabu (Rahul Ramakrishna) are struggling to pass Intermediate. They are not regular to college and poor at academics. And they meet new joiner Mithra (Nivetha Thomas), daughter of principal Radha Krishna (Shrikanth Krishnaswamy). Mithra too is not interested in studies. She is a state-level Bharatanaytam dancer and wants to continue her interest. But she is staying with her father after she lost her mother. How Mithra tries to escape from her problems and how Rahul and his friends help her? What new problems they encounter with? How do they overcome?
Performances:
Nivetha Thomas has pulled off a yet another challenging role Mithra. She is perfect cast for the role. She has done very well in emotional scenes. Nivetha’s scenes with her father convey a lot. She emoted with her eyes. Sree Vishnu has chosen a role that is apt for him. As an underdog, as a care-less youth, he is good. His body language, attitude and characterization match and makes it natural. Priyadarshi and Rahul are on dot with their roles. They are hilarious at portions. Shrikanth is alright as a strict father and college principal. Nivetha Pethuraj is seen as actress Shalini and she does justice. Sathya has come up with brilliant show as an aspiring filmmaker who is struggling for his debut film. Others also did a good job.
Technicalities:
After his directorial debut Mental Madhilo, Vivek Athreya has come up with a racy, edgy crime comedy Brochevarevarura. While Mental Madhilo was a bit slow, Brochevarevarura is more racy. This is what makes it more appealing to youths. Well written characters, entertaining first half and interesting twists in the second half make Brochevarevarura a brilliant film. Technically, the film has nothing to point out. Background score is quite complimenting. Vivek Sagar deserves a pat on the back. Editing is good. The film is slick.
Thumbs Up:
Twists & Interval Bang
Youthful Elements
Direction
Well Written Characters
Thumbs Down:
Some Scenes in Second Half
Predictable Climax
Analysis:
Brochevarevarura has everything to appeal to young audiences. It is compelling, slick, well-written and well performed. The college scenes in the first half are hilarious and instantly connect to youth. How Rahul, Rakesh and Rambabu survive in college tickle one’s funny bones. The kidnap episode of Mithra by her own friends is hilarious to the core. How Rahul takes revenge on principal makes it more funny. But there’s more to the story. Mithra’s character has a lot of depth. And the story revolves around her. It has been handled well by Vivek.
The biggest strength of the film is that it keeps moving and it doesn’t stop anywhere. The puzzle of what is going to happen next makes it engaging. How well the stories of Sathya and Sree Vishnu have been connected is where director Vivek succeeded. But some portions in the second-half put us off. Even the climax is weak and predictable. Vivek should have written a better climax. Yet these are passable.
Barring some disconnecting scenes and handful of dejavu moments, Brochevarevarura has enough to make it worth watching. Well written characters, entertaining first half and impressive twists make the film more engaging. The film is genuine to its genre and delivers what it is meant for. All dots have been connected well.
Verdict : Youthful Crime Comedy
Jagan should not become another KCR with ‘demolition drive’!
When AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy ordered demolition of illegal structures along the Krishna river bund in Amaravathi, including the one constructed and used by former AP CM N Chandrababu Nadu, it reminded everyone of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
This is because KCR ordered demolition of illegal structures in state capital Hyderabad within a month of becoming CM in June 2014.
Similarly, Jagan too ordered demolition of illegal structures in state capital Amaravathi, within one month of becoming CM.
KCR even ordered demolition of N-Convention owned by Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna on the ground that it was built by occupying a portion of the lake.
However, except demolishing a shed constructed in the parking area at N-Convention, KCR could not do anything.
Even in Ayyappa Society, KCR halted the demolition of illegal buildings abruptly.
Everyone knows KCR was forced to halt demolition drive after few rich and politically influential persons brought pressure on him. KCR’s much-hyped demolition drive has hit a dead end within a few months.
Now, the focus has shifted to Jagan.
Jagan too will face a similar situation if he dares to touch the buildings owned by rich and politically influential people.
Jagan can demolish Praja Vedika, because it belongs to government but what about nearly 50 illegal buildings owned by rich and powerful people.
Now the question that comes to the fore is whether Jagan would succeed in his mission to demolish illegal structures or whether he will end up as another KCR, who kept mum coming under pressure from powerful people.
If Jagan is honest in his mission, he should go ahead come what may and should not become another KCR.
I was thrown out of Vijay’s film: Amala Paul
Amala Paul has been in the news for being replaced by Megha Akash in Vijay Sethupathi’s forthcoming film, which is tentatively titled VSP33.
It was reported that she had opted out of the project due to date issues. However, in a recent statement, she claimed that she was thrown out of the film because the producers of VSP33 were afraid of their image after the release of Aame’s teaser.
In Aame teaser, Amala Paul appears completely naked and is trapped in a corporate office. She issued a detailed statement saying that producer Rathienavelu Kumar of Chandaraa Productions stated that they could not keep up with her demands.
Her statement read, “I am in Bombay now purchasing clothes and working on the styling for VSP33 bearing the cost of my travel and accommodation by myself, as Chandaraa production always mewls about their budget issues. Out of the blue the producer, Mr Rathienavel Kumar, sends me a message stating that he doesn’t want me in the film as my demands and terms doesn’t suit Chandaraa Arts’ project. Only to discover that he is referring to the demand of an accommodation in Ooty.”
Amala also added that the producer took this decision without even trying to call her and check with her.
“This brouhaha doesn’t make sense to me. The only thing that sounds vaguely plausible is that he took this decision after the release of Aadai teaser,” she wrote.

She also added, “It is disappointing that these pseudo cinema punters write off an actor’s emotional investment as though it means nothing; don’t even get me started on the physical and financial efforts that are put in by an actor from the word ‘go’.”
Amala concluded saying that she’s a huge fan of Vijay Sethupathi.
“No harm is intended to you Vijay Sethupathi. I am a huge fan and I was excitedly looking forward to be working with you. This is a statement written out of my grave disappointment and to address the rumours that are being spread around by Chandaraa Productions about my unprofessional conduct,” she revealed.
Naidu gets ‘house demolition notice’ from Jagan!
Amaravati: Moving ahead with the Andhra Pradesh government’s plan, authorities on Friday pasted a demolition notice outside the “illegal” house of former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
A day after completing the demolition of Praja Vedika, a government building adjacent to Naidu’s residence, the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) pasted a notice on the main gate of Naidu’s house on the banks of Krishna river.
The notice has been served in the name of Lingameneni Ramesh, from whom the house was taken on lease by then chief minister Naidu in 2016. According to the CRDA, the house was built within 100 meters from the river in violation of the River Conservancy Act and other rules and regulations.
The government agency, responsible for construction of state capital Amaravati, has asked Ramesh to submit an explanation on the violations in eight days. The notice warned him of stringent action if the explanation was not satisfactory.
The CRDA officials have reportedly identified over 50 illegal structures and served notices on all of them.
On the orders of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CRDA on Tuesday and Wednesday demolished Praja Vedika, which the government had built at a cost of Rs 5 crore as an annex of then chief minister’s house to hold official meetings.
Jagan Reddy also alleged that Naidu, the Leader of the Opposition, was living in an illegal house. He said the demolition drive would begin with Praja Vedika and cover all illegal buildings on the banks of Krishna river at Undavalli.
Reacting strongly to the notice pasted outside Naidu’s house, senior TDP leader Y. Ramakrishnudu called it an act of vendetta by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government.
He wondered how the notice could be served when local YSRCP legislator A. Ramakrishna Reddy’s petition against the alleged unauthorised constructions was already pending in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
