In recent times, there are various discussions and opinions from Telugu media regarding various films, and most of them are divided over their reviews. But if there is a film that is getting stupendous support from everyone here in Telugu media, including that of print, web and social media, that is none other than Arjun Reddy remake Kabir Singh.

Apparently this Sandeep Reddy directorial featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani got slammed by the critics as they called it a misogynist film. But Telugu media took the onus of promoting Kabir Singh and they have taken the audiences like anything. And the opinions expressed by Telugu media folks are bought by North audiences, for which the collections are the testimony.

As the film collected 70+ crores nett in its first weekend, Telugu media increased their promotion and supported the film big time. Not just praising Sandeep Reddy, they are also heaping appreciation on Shahid and Kiara too, such that the film gets more mileage. This love for a Telugu director, all because he rocked in the tough Bollywood land, is eternal we have to say.

Meanwhile, Bollywood critics and some celebs are still busy slamming Arjun Reddy remake. And most of these critics have praised Arjun Reddy Telugu version after they watched it with subtitles on Amazon Prime. Pch!

Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy Breaks All The Myths

Telugu director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, whose debut film Arjun Reddy has made a huge impact at the box office, has gone to Bollywood with the remake of the same movie. And then, ‘Kabir Singh’, the remade film, has huge hurdles that posed a threat to the box office run. Here goes the result, however.

On June 21st, that is last Friday, Kabir Singh has released amidst huge beating from critics, as they termed the movie as a male chauvinistic, misogynistic and abuse-encouraging. Firstly the film got A-rating, so many expected that there will be low footfalls. Then came the normal ticket pricing, which results obviously in low collections. Also, the ongoing world cup cricket league matches posed a big threat. And still, the film released and the rest is history.

So far Kabir Singh has collected 70+ crores (nett from the first weekend) and the film will join 100 crores club very soon. That’s a first of its kind for Shahid Kapoor as a solo hero. If all goes well, the film will easily post a total between 150-200 crores for sure.

Talking about the same, Bollywood is now terming that Sandeep Reddy has broken all the myths that the Hindi industry is fearing. And then, the director doesn’t want to do his next in Hindi but will be directing a Telugu film.

Kalki Honest Trailer: The Plot Thickens!

Kalki continues to impress with every promo and the newly launched ‘honest trailer’ increases the curiosity furthermore.It is an investigative thriller set in the eighties and Rajasekhar is back in his favorite uniform… khakhee.

The trailer begins with the question “Who killed Sekhar Babu?” and ends with Rajasekhar saying “I am one who has to find the killer.” It sums up the plot of Kalki, but every character seems intriguing and mysterious.

The stylish presentation with lots of slo-mo and aerial shots makes it beautiful to watch. Technically Kalki looks sound and up there with the best.Like always, the background score in the trailer is extremely impressive. Kalki’s investigation begins in theaters on June 28.

Manoj steps in for Chennai water crisis

The city of Chennai is witnessing water crisis like never before. People are struggling to get basic water while the government completely failed to take adequate measures.Seeing this hero Manchu Manoj has come forward and announced that he will be supplying water to the Telugu residents of Chennai.

“Chennai gave food and shelter for Telugu people and it is our turn to payback,” wrote Manoj in his social media handles.Manoj was unhappy that the nation’s sixth biggest city is suffering from basic water. He also appealed to contributors who can independently come forward.

This is a great gesture from Manoj and he time and again proves that he always up for a social cause.

Meanwhile, Vizag born Bollywood actress Sobhita Dhulipala has denied that she has shown an interest to be in this reality show.Sobhita shot to fame in Telugu with her brilliant performance in Adivi Sesh’s thriller “Goodachari”. The film was one of the good hits last year.

However, Sobhita has not signed any other Telugu film. She continued doing Web Series in Hindi and Bollywood films.“I have zero involvement with this big boss Telugu stuff. Please don’t use my name for your PR,” she tweeted.

Tamannaah Buys A Swanky Apartment in Mumbai

Tamannaah Bhatia reportedly bought a super expensive apartment in Mumbai’s Versova area, reported DNA, adding that the Baahubali actress apparently paid twice the going rate in the area.Tamannaah has reportedly locked the deal at Rs. 16.60 crore for the apartment, which is on the 14th floor of a 22-storey building named Bayview located on the Juhu-Versova Link road.

A source also told DNA that she has already paid Rs. 99.60 lakh as stamp duty for the registration of the flat. However, neither Tamannaah nor her spokesperson have not confirmed the reports.The flat, which Tamannaah purchased, is jointly owned by the actress and her mother Rajani Bhatia. In addition to the swanky apartment, Tamannaah has bought two car parking slots in the apartment complex.

A real estate broker told DNA: “The building is 22 storeys high and it offers sea view from every side of the apartment. Secondly, the actor can have interiors the way she wants in the house,” he said.A source also told DNA that Tamannaah has set Rs. 2 crore aside for the interiors too.

Tamannaah Bhatia is among the top crop of actress in the south film industry and she has several plum film projects in her line-up.She will be seen in the Telugu remake of Queen, titled That Is Mahalakshmi, which is currently in post-production stage. San Francisco: A Hyderabad man and another person was killed in road accident in the US city of San Francisco, police said.The city’s authorities have identified the victims as Syed Waseem Ali, 26, from Hyderabad who lived in Fremont, and Sela Henriquez, 49, of San Francisco, reports the San Francisco Examiner newspaper.

The collision took place at about 1.15 a.m. Sunday at Third Street and Paul Avenue.According to the police, a Mercedes-Benz was speeding on Third Street and didn’t stop at a red light, causing a collision with a Toyota sedan.Ali, who was driving the Toyota and had Henriquez as passenger via the Lyft ride-hailing service, were pronounced dead after the crash.

Two passengers from the Mercedes were taken to a hospital but are expected to survive. The driver fled on foot, leaving the vehicle behind, and had not been arrested as of early Monday afternoon, police said.

A GoFundMe page has been created on behalf of Ali’s family to raise money to transport his body and belongings back to Hyderabad, the San Francisco Examiner reported.Lyft issued a statement following the crash.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and resulting loss of life. Our thoughts are with the victims’ family and friends during this difficult time. We have reached out to the rider’s family to offer our support and are working to contact the driver’s family,” the company said.
