Four MPs to dump TDP to join BJP!

Share

Stage is set for the defection of four Rajya Sabha members of the Telugu Desam Party into the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to reports from Delhi, the four MPs – former Union minister Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh, politburo member Garikapati Mohan Rao and T G Venkatesh, who had been displaying their unflinching loyalty towards TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu all these years, have decided to associate themselves with the BJP.

These four MPs met BJP national president and Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday afternoon and expressed their desire to join the BJP.

They are likely to meet Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu in the evening and give him a letter requesting them to treat as a separate group in Rajya Sabha so that they would be associated members of the BJP.

This is definitely a big shock to Naidu, who had gone on a vacation to the Europe along with his family. In fact, Sujana has been giving enough hints that he would be joining the BJP.

He told a news channel a couple of days ago that he would tell his party boss before joining other party. He made some critical comments against Naidu in the interview.

At the same time, CM Ramesh was also seen hobnobbing with the YSR Congress party and BJP leaders in Parliament for the last few days. But the defection of other two MPs was a real surprise and shock to the TDP.

It remains to be seen how many will be left with Naidu in the coming days.

Kapu Leaders To Quit TDP For Good?

Share

Telugu Desam Party headed by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which received a humiliating defeat in the hands of the YSR Congress party in the recent assembly elections, appears to be crumbling fast.

According to reports coming from the party sources, several prominent TDP leaders representing Kapu community held a secret meeting at Kakinada under the auspices of former MLA Thota Trimurthulu to discuss their future of action, as they felt there is no future in the TDP.

Sources said those who attended include: Jyothula Nehru, Buragadda Veda Vyas Badeti Bujji, Varupula Raja, Meesala Geetha, K P Naidu, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, Eli Naani and Bonda Uma etc.

The meeting was held completely indoors and media was banned from entry into the area.

Majority of the leaders who attended the meeting are learnt to have felt that there was no future for the TDP and it would be better to join the Bharatiya Janata Party to emerge as a potential alternative.

However, some of them like Bonda Uma differed with the others and said it would be better to fight it out by staying back in the TDP.

In any case, the meeting indicated the impending revolt in the TDP following its debacle in the recent elections!

Case against ex-TDP MLA Chintamaneni!

When the Telugu Desam Party was in power, former MLA from Denduluru Chintamaneni Prabhakar had virtually ruled the roost in West Godavari district.

There were allegations of Chintamaneni indulging in sand mafia, land grabbing and extortion, besides intimidating government officials.

And he had paid penalty for the same in the recent elections. He lost to YSR Congress party candidate Abbaya Chowdary with a margin of 17,459 votes.

Now that he is out of power, the police have started digging out cases against Chintamameni, who still feels he is the king in Denduluru.

A couple of days ago, he allegedly removed all the pipeline laid from Polavaram right canal to the agriculture lands in Janampet area.

Prabhakar claimed that he had laid the pipelines with his own money and since the locals did not vote for him, he was taking away the pipes.

But the farmers expressed anger at Chintamaneni for the removal of pipelines overnight. A farmer, Satyanarayana filed the complaint with the police.

He said two years ago, the farmers of Denduluru, Pedavegi, Pedapadu, nearby villages of Eluru have collected Rs 1,000 per head and arranged this pipelines.

“So, it was not Chintamaneni’s personal money, but contributions made by the farmers,” he said.

The farmers urged the police to take the strong actions against Chintamaneni over this incident.

Over the complaint, the police have booked a case under section 420, 384, and 431 against Chintamaneni Prabhakar.

Why is Rajagopal quitting Cong?

Share

Senior Congress leader and Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has almost decided to resign from the party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party in a day or two.

Rajagopal held a meeting with his followers at Munugode on Wednesday night to decide his future course of action after the Congress party served him with a show-cause notice for his offensive comments against the state leadership and also party high command in Delhi.

In all probability, Rajagopal will leave the party and join the BJP formally on Thursday evening or Friday. Apparently, he told his followers that he was prominent a key position in the BJP.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy said Rajagopal Reddy might be quitting the party and joining the BJP only for financial reasons.

“We can convince him to stay back in the Congress, if he is resigning from the party for political reasons. What can we do, if he quits the party for financial reasons?” Uttam asked.

The PCC chief said Rajagopal Reddy had explained to him why he was joining the BJP.

“Since he has made up his mind to join the BJP, he might be telling various reasons. But I know the actual reasons,” he said, adding that he would discuss Rajagopal Reddy’s issue with the party high command.

New Delhi: Cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar believes injured India opener Shikhar Dhawan will come back strongly after he was forced out of the ongoing 2019 World Cup in England and Wales with a fractured thumb. Tendulkar also backed Rishabh Pant, Dhawan’s replacement, to do well.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar said: “Feel for you Shikhar. You were playing well & to be injured in the middle of such an important tournament is heartbreaking. I’m sure you’ll come back stronger than ever.”

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Pant, who flew in as Dhawan’s cover ahead of India’s game against Pakistan in Manchester, was officially named his replacement on Wednesday evening.

Wishing the young stumper, Tendulkar said: “Rishabh you’ve been playing well & there can’t be a bigger platform to express yourself. Good luck!”

India will next take on minnows Afghanistan on Saturday. While Men in Blue have won three of their four games with one being washed off, Afghanistan are yet to win a game in this edition of the showpiece event.

TDPP in RS merges with BJP!

Share

The Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party in Rajya Sabha merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party with the defection of four out of its six MPs on Thursday.

“Hereafter, these four MPs belong to the BJP. They have strengthened the BJP foundation in Andhra Pradesh,” BJP national working president J P Nadda said, after formally offering party shawls to the TDP MPs.

Of the four, Y S Chowdary (Sujana Chowdary), C M Ramesh and T G Venkatesh were present at the joining ceremony, while fourth MP Garikapati Mohan Rao could not attend because of his ill-health.

“We have gone by the mood of the nation, which is clearly in favour of Narendra Modi-led BJP. We strongly believed that development of the nation, particularly Andhra Pradesh, will be possible only with the BJP,” Sujana Chowdary said.

Venkatesh said he was joining the BJP for the development of Rayalaseema region. He said the BJP was not new to him, as he had worked as ABVP leader during his college days.

He said the four MPs had already informed Naidu well before quitting the TDP.

Naidu, who was away in Europe, was shocked at the development.

Party sources said the TDP chief expressed anguish over the defections and blamed it on the BJP for bringing pressure on the MPs to join.

He, however, asked the party cadre not to get disheartened and said the party would definitely bounce back in the coming years.

What Does Venkaiah Say Now?

Share

Wherever he goes, Vice President of India and chairman of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu makes it a point to give lengthy preaching on defections.

He strongly advocates that if any elected member of the legislature of a particular political party wants to defect to any other party, he should quit his or her membership in the legislature.

Otherwise, such defectors should be disqualified from their membership immediately, he said several times.

Venkaiah also issued an official order, asking the presiding officers of all the states and even Lok Sabha to decide the issues of disqualification of MPs within a period of three months.

He opined that the Speakers of the legislative bodies (assemblies or councils or Lok Sabha) should not keep in pending or drag for years the petitions of disqualification of the defected legislators or MPs.

In December 2017, Venkaiah disqualified two senior Janata Dal (UP) MPs – Sharad Yadav and Ali Anwar – from Rajya Sabha.

But on Thursday, Venkaiah quietly accepted the defection of four Telugu Desam Party MPs—Y S Chowdary, CM Ramesh, T G Venkatesh and Garikapati Mohan Rao within minutes and got them merged with the BJP.

One wonders why he did not ask the defecting MPs to quit their membership before joining the BJP.

The answer is simple: the rule does not apply to the BJP, which can encourage and engineer defections at will. The rule applies only to the opposition!

Maddali Siva Reddy Takes Oath In Real Life

Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan has impressed many with his terrific performance as Maddali Siva Reddy in the film Race Gurram. His on par display of acting prowess against the lead actor Allu Arjun won him special recognition in Tollywood.

Known thing is that Ravi Kishan has contested the 2019 elections for Loksabha from Gorakhpur Constituency on BJP ticket. He has won by over two lakh votes against the nearest SP-BSP alliance candidate in the election. And other day, Ravi Kishan took oath as MP in the Lok Sabha and is attending the sessions as well.

His oath-taking has represented how he used to practice those lines in Telugu, saying ‘Maddali Siva Reddy ane nenu’ in the film Race Gurram. Now that he has taken real oath as a real politician we have to see the kind of work he does for the people who have elected him to power.

While Ravi Kishan is in the ruling party, he has to work very hard to make sure that people will vote for him the next time as well.

Further, Rangoli also wrote that Sunaina is asking Kangana’s help to protect her from her family’s physical torture just because she married a Muslim man. “Last week they got a lady cop who slapped her, her father also hit her, her brother is trying to put her behind bars. I fear her dangerous family might harm her, we want to make this public because Sunaina calling Kangana and crying all the time, Kangana doesn’t know how to help her,” she added.

With a series of tweets, Rangoli went on to suggest Sunaina to take police help by herself. On the other hand, Sunaina too tweeted that she supports Kangana in every aspect so far and they have been very good friends from the beginning. In amid of all these, Hrithik’s ex-wife Sussane Khan said that Sunaina is in an unfortunate situation and asked everybody to pray for Hrithik’s family.

Nevertheless, Hrithik and Kangana’s spat has been the ugliest in recent times and the new allegations are once again stirring up the conflicts between the two.

A Telugu producer who has carved only below-average films till date in Telugu industry has last week approached Sunny for a film that features her in the lead role. Despite quoting a huge price, which the producer might be paying as he has enough investors on hand, she has asked that a dotted line will be signed only if they provide her with the bounded script.

Amma Vodi, only for govt schools: AP govt

Share

In view of the growing confusion among private schools and parents about the eligibility of ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme announced by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the poll campaign, the state finance minister B Rajendranath Reddy gave a clarification that it is only applicable to govt schools. That means parents who send their children to govt schools only will get an amount of Rs 15,000 under ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme.

This scheme was widely taken into public by YS Jagan and his team during the election campaign and as soon as YSRCP formed government in AP, they discussed it in the cabinet and decided to implement it from 26 January. The same was announced by CM Jagan at ‘Rajanna Badibata’ program earlier.

Ever since the new government is formed, there is a huge discussion and confusion about ‘Amma Vodi’ scheme. Some private schools went a step ahead and gave out ads saying that ‘parents who join their children in our school will benefit from Amma Vodi scheme’. But, some educationalists and academic scholars advised that the scheme should be confined to government schools only. So, this clarification by the Finance Minister would clear all the speculation and rumours around the Amma Vodi scheme.

Rajanna Rajyam Lo Chikati Rojulu?

Share

The incessant power cuts in Andhra Pradesh are worrying people as several businesses, daily works, small scale industries to large scale industries to farmers who need the power to supply water to fields are at stake. While this was not the case when Chandrababu Naidu was the CM, this sudden and rampant power cuts after YS Jagan became CM has become a worry to people as well as YCP leaders.

Even when India and Pakistan crucial world cup match was happening the other day, there were said to be power cut in several areas in AP. This said to have irked many of cricket fans. Although cricket is not something that has public interest, slowly there is growing angst among people over the huge power cuts in the state.

Going into details, it is buzzed that Naidu used to buy the power from other states at the higher quote and thus ensured that power supply is continuous and abundant in the new state in order to businessmen to set up their new businesses and thus provide employment to more and make the new state progress. On the contrary, for reasons not known to us and better known to Jagan and his aides, YS Jagan is said to be not purchasing the required power.

Earlier in Jan 2019, APSPDCL CMD MM Nayak had directed the electricity department that power cut at towns and cities shouldn’t exceed more than 30 minutes in a month and it shouldn’t exceed more than 1 hour in rural areas in a month. Even if the electricity is interrupted at any place due to any reason, a message should be sent to the local people through Ujjain citizen app. But quite contrary to this, the huge power cuts in AP is causing great worry to people and the problem of electricity shortage looms large. Is this the Rajanna Rajyam that Jagan and YCP promised of? Are Chikati Rojulu (dark days) are unavoidable in Rajanna Rajyam?

After Sridevi, Her Daughter Says No To Rajamouli?

Ever since foreign heroine Daisy Edgar Zones exited #RRR due to unknown issues, it looks like Rajamouli has changed the whole script, replacing a foreign lady’s character with that of an Indian lady. And that’s how names of Bollywood girls are being heard in connection with this role.

There is strong rumour doing rounds that Rajamouli’s team has recently approached Bollywood’s just debuted starlet Jhanvi Kapoor. However, the young heroine refused to become part of this big project where she would be romancing Jr NTR. Reasons regarding her rejection are not known, but she’s said to have felt that the character will not be giving her enough light like how Ram Charan’s pair Alia Bhatt’s character gets.

If we look into recent past, Jhanvi’s mother Sridevi also rejected Rajamouli’s offer earlier, saying that she wouldn’t play Sivagami in Baahubali unless she is paid a bomb. Well, Jhanvi is too young to make such rejections, isn’t it?
