Did Chaitanya say No to RX100 Director?

Share

Naga Chaitanya reportedly didn’t show much interest to do Ajay Bhupathi’s next film immediately. Chaitanya wanted more time to do the RX100 director’s idea of playing a cop.

Since Chaitanya has scored massive hit with “Majili”, he doesn’t want to spoil the momentum he got by doing an action drama, a genre that never brought fortunes to him till now.

As Chaitanya asked him to wait for some more time to think about this project, the director seems to be irritated. This explains why he took to Twitter to slam the media reports about his next movie.

The young director who has an image of headstrong person said that he knows when to direct his film and with whom.

He has been struggling to get nod from a star even though his first film “RX100” was a runaway hit. Patience is important in the industry.

Why Centre raising dust over Rahul citizenship?

Share

The Union home ministry is expected to look into the issues of internal security and prevent militant activities, but unfortunately it is more interested in kicking up controversies over Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship.

It was pointed out by All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Dr Sravan Dasoju. He wondered why the Union home ministry had sent a notice to Rahul Gandhi over the citizenship issue.

“It was due to the negligence of Union Home Ministry that 44 CRPF jawans lost their lives in Pulwama in February this year. Today 16 security personnel were killed in a naxal attack in Gadchiroli and Union Home Ministry is looking helpless in preventing such attacks. Instead of focussing on ensuring internal security, Union Home Ministry is turning out to be a political tool into the hands of BJP leaders,” he said.

He asked whether home minister Rajnath Singh was in a state of madness when he approved the move.

“Entire world knows that Rahul Gandhi was born in India. His father (Rajiv Gandhi), grandmother (Indira Gandhi) and great grandfather (Pandit Nehru) had served as Prime Ministers of India. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi have sacrificed their lives for the country.

“It is highly regrettable that the Home Ministry had served a notice on citizenship to Rahul Gandhi who himself had served as Member of Parliament for three terms since 2004,” Sravan said adding that it was shameful for the BJP to defame a person belonging to the family of martyrs.

Sravan said that the Congress party has already released documents to counter the baseless allegations being levelled by the BJP.

The Supreme Court, in 2015, has already dismissed a petition challenging Rahul Gandhi’s status as an Indian. He said as part of its malicious campaign, the BJP has raised a dead issue in the midst of elections to divert people’s attention.

Calling Prime Minister Narender Modi and his team as ‘mentally bankrupt’, he said BJP has been targeting Rahul Gandhi only due to fear of a humiliating defeat.

He thanked all the directors who were part of his journey and mentioned directors’ names who made him a star hero. But Mahesh missed out dashing director Puri Jagannadh’s name.

Unseasonal rains damage iconic Charminar

Share

Hyderabad: Charminar, the symbol of Hyderabad, has suffered damage as a piece of lime stucco work on one of its minarets fell down following unseasonal rains, officials said on Thursday.

A portion of the stucco work detached from the granite slab on the minaret facing Mecca Masjid side and fell off late on Wednesday, sending panic among the people around the monument.

Police cordoned off the area where the debris fell. A large number of onlookers gathered near the monument.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had undertaken restoration work on the monument sometime back. While the incidents of lime plasters peeling off are not new, the latest damage raised new concerns about the safety of the iconic structure.

Charminar was built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth king of the Qutb Shahi dynasty.

The 428-year-old edifice, stands at a staggering 160 feet from ground level. It has four minarets after which it is named.

Why is Roja silent these days?

Share

The war of words between the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party has been going on even after the completion of polling for the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh on April 11.

Several YSR Congress party leaders like V Vijay Sai Reddy, S Ramakrishna Reddy, Ambati Rambabu, Vasireddy Padma, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Botsa Satyanarayana and many others have been making it to headlines in the media with their scathing attack on TDP and its president N Chandrababu Naidu.

But one person who has been keeping a low profile and has not come before the media so far is actress and MLA from Nagari in Chittoor district R K Roja.

Even during the electioneering, she confined herself to her constituency and did not make any controversial statements, as she used to do in the past.

The only time she was visible was on the polling day, when she posed for photographs after casting her vote and also posted her selfies in the social media.

Enquiries revealed that Roja was not happy with the way several party seniors did not cooperate with her in the elections. Instead, she is said to be suspecting that several party leaders tried to sabotage her victory prospects.

Reports from the field indicated that Roja had faced a very tough battle, allegedly due to non-cooperation from the YSRC leaders in the district, in the elections.

The chances of her winning the seat are bleak and even if she wins, she might scrape through with narrow margin.

Apparently, some seniors in the party did not want Roja to win, as she would be the front runner for the cabinet post and would, therefore, spoil the chances of other leaders from the district, if YSRC comes to power.

Many of them are not happy with her highhanded behavior in the party. So, they reportedly worked against her, say sources.

Sensing her probable defeat, Roja has gone into silent mode, at least for now! But if she wins, she will be definitely back with a bang!

‘No director will wait for 2 months, Vamshi waited 2 yrs’

Share

Hero Mahesh Babu said no director will even wait for two months these days but director Vamshi Paidipally waited for two years just because he believed that except me he could not imagine anybody in the role of Rishi.

The pre-release event of ‘Maharshi’ was held in a grand style in the presences of hundreds of Mahesh fans.

Speaking Mahesh said, “Initially when Vamshi wanted to come and narrated the script, I thought of just listening and sending him back. Because of the commitments I had with other directors. But I was blown away by the story of ‘Maharshi’ and Vamshi patiently waited. And we are coming on May 9th.”

Mahesh thanked Pooja Hegde for the compliment but refuted that he will not become a director some day in the future.

Venkatesh added Mahesh looks handsome 360 degrees and like how he kicked the pot in ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu,’ ‘Maharshi’ should shatter box office records.

What issues will ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ cause, asks RGV

Share

Hyderabad: Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Wednesday questioned the grounds on which his film “Lakshmi’s NTR” was stopped from releasing in Andhra Pradesh despite being given a nod by the High Court here.

Having released in Telangana and other states last month, Varma had made plans to release the film in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

“‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ has been taken out of all theatres in Andhra Pradesh with officials claiming it might cause law and order problems. In spite of censor certificate given and High Court clearing it, what law and order problems can be there is what I want to ask the forces behind,” Varma tweeted.

On Tuesday, the Election Commission refused to grant permission for releasing the movie in Andhra Pradesh after some Telugu Desam Party (TDP) functionaries alleged that the film depicted Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu in a negative manner and this could impact the party’s poll prospects.

Elections to the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state were held on April 11.

On Sunday, Varma was denied entry into Vijayawada to promote “Lakshmi’s NTR”.

He said he was detained by the city police at Vijayawada airport and sent back to Hyderabad without assigning any reason.

In a video he later shared on his Twitter page, Varma explained that he had been barred entry into Vijayawada where he was supposed to be part of a press meet.

“Lakshmi’s NTR” is about the events that happened in NTR’s life after the entry of Lakshmi Parvathy in his life.

The film tracks the events that led to NTR’s ‘dethroning’ in August 1995 by his son-in-law Chandrababu Naidu.

In the film, P. Vijay Kumar plays the veteran actor-politician while popular Yagna Shetty plays Lakshmi Parvathy, and it has been jointly directed by Varma and Agasthya Manju.
