Modi has assets worth Rs 2.51 crore

Share

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who filed his nomination from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency on Friday, has movable and immovable assets to the tune of Rs 2.51 crore.

As per the affidavit submitted by the Prime Minister, out of the Rs 2.51 crore, movable assets comprised Rs 1.41 crore and immovable assets were valued at Rs 1.1 crore.

As on March 31, 2019, Modi had Rs 38,750 as cash in hand.

In the last five financial years, Modi had declared his annual income as Rs 19.92 lakh (2018), Rs 14.59 lakh (2017), Rs 19.23 lakh (2016), Rs 8.58 lakh (2015) and Rs 9.69 lakh (2014).

The primary sources of Modi’s income are salary from the government and interest received from the banks.

As per the affidavit, the Prime Minister does not have any criminal charge against him.

Kanchana 3 Turns Out to be Big Hit

Share

Raghava Lawrence’s gamble has paid off. His decision to change the release date of “Kanchana 3” from May 1st to April 19th has worked out to his advantage while for Nani it worked adversely.

Nani’s “Jersey” was to release on 5th April but it was postponed to April 19. Thus Nani’s film suffered collections by competing with Lawrence’s movie.

“Kanchana 3” has collected more than Rs 16 Cr in its first week in Telugu states. The movie is a huge hit. All the distributors are in profits already. Lawrence is the producer of the movie.

The brand name of this franchise is so strong in the mass centers that the audiences came in big numbers though this is weakest movie in the entire series.

The jokes are outdated; the narration is clumsy but the mass audiences didn’t care for the flaws. Now that “Kanchana 3” too have become a hit, Lawrence will contemplate to make another sequel.

This is also first dubbed movie to become hit in Telugu states after a long time.

But for EC, Naidu could stop thunderbolts!

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has come out with a strange argument while castigating the Election Commission.

In his letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, Naidu accused the commission of questioning his authority from conducting review meetings.

He went to the extent of alleging that seven people had died of thunderbolts in the entire state last week only because he was not allowed to review the departmental works.

“The deaths could have been averted had the democratically elected government been allowed to function.

As the chief minister, I could have monitored and implemented preventive measures to save seven previous lives lost due to thunderbolts. Who is responsible for these deaths?” he asked.

It means, Naidu has the technology and power to stop thunderbolts by holding review meetings. He could not do so only because EC prevented him from doing so.

Well, that is height of exaggeration. Yes, there is a technology available with the Andhra Pradesh government to send advance warnings to the people on the possible fall of thunderbolts.

The disaster management department, with the help of Real Time Governance System (RTGS) has been sending such alerts for the last two years.

But it doesn’t require the chief minister to hold the meetings and issue orders. Whether Naidu is there or not, the department will continue to send warning signals to the people and prevent the deaths due to thunderbolts.

In fact, irrespective of Naidu’s meetings, the department would have definitely send the warning signals to the people and probably, seven of them ignored these warning and fell victims. They would not have waited for Naidu to make the warning announcements!

Has KCR given up party work completely?

Share

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have virtually given up involving the party affairs after he anointed his son and Siricilla MLA K T Rama Rao as the working president of the party.

It is evident from the reports that KCR is not going to attend the TRS formation day celebrations to be held at Telangana Bhavan, the party’s headquarters at Banjara Hills Road No. 12 on Saturday.

According to sources, KCR won’t take part in the celebrations. Instead, it will be KTR show at the Telangana Bhavan. He will participate in the flag hoisting program to mark the party formation day at 9 am at the party headquarters.

Several ministers, MLAs and important functionaries of the party would attend the programme.

He will address the party functionaries and give them direction to work hard for party’s victory in the coming zilla parishad and mandal parishad elections.

This is for the first time that KCR will not be attending the TRS foundation day celebrations. Every time, it used to be a big affair with the party hosting its plenary, followed by the public meeting to be addressed by the party president.

Last year, it was a colourful function at Kompalli and party leaders and cadre used to look up to electrifying speeches of KCR. Now, his role is being taken over by KTR.

The party working president has already announced that the 18th formation day of the party would be a low-key affair and only flag hoisting would be done by the party leaders in districts.

Parappana Agrahara ready for Sujana?

Share

The issuance of summons by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on former Union minister and Telugu Desam Party Rajya Sabha member Y S Chowdary alias Sujana Chowdary for questioning in a bank fraud case has led to various speculations in the social media.

The central agencies – CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department – have been systematically dealing with the bank fraud cases involving Sujana Chowdary for the last few months and building up strong evidences against him.

All these years, Sujana has been managing to avoid all the investigations through his connections at the Centre.

Since he was the Union minister till March 2018, nobody could dare touch him, but once he came out of the cabinet following TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s face off with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, troubles started for Sujana.

According to reports, it is very difficult for the TDP MP to escape this time. At present, he is being questioned by the CBI in Bengaluru and once they establish the evidences, he is most likely to be arrested.

“The Parappana Agrahara on the outskirts of Bengaluru city is getting ready for Sujana and he cannot escape from the arrest,” a report in a section of social media said.

The case pertaining to evasion of repayment of loans taken by Best & Crompton Engineering Projects, an electrical equipment manufacturing company promoted by Sujana and a sister concern of Sujana Group of Industries.

Based on the complaints lodged by three banks the CBI Bengaluru registered three FIRs against him. The banks said the total loss caused to the consortium of banks accounts to Rs 364 crore by Best & Crompton Engineering Projects.

The company had allegedly got loans through fraud accounts from Central Bank of India (Rs 133 crore), Andhra Bank (Rs 71 crore) and Corporation Bank (Rs 159 crore). It also submitted false statements, as per the reports.

Fun On IPL Field: Umpire Pockets Ball and Forgets

Share

Yesterday, the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab faced an unprecedented and witty situation at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match came to a brief halt after the 14th over of RCB’s innings.

And, the reason will chuckle you. The umpire asked, ‘Where’s the ball?’. Later, bowler and the batsmen in unison asked the same but no one on the field could track the ball. It all started when KXIP pacer Ankit Rajpoot asked his teammates to pass the ball in order to bowl the 15th over. But, no one finds the ball.

Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin came towards the field umpire, Shamshuddin, to quiz him over the missing ball. Unfortunately, the umpire, too, was at a loss of words. Later, the second umpire, Bruce Oxenford joined the scene and the fourth umpire came running onto the field with a box of new balls.

However, commentators, who were watching the entire scene in amusement generated humour out of it. The mystery solved when replay moment showed that umpire Shamshuddin was caught on camera pocketing the ball during the strategic break.

Watching the replay, the umpire realized and promptly returned the ball to Ankit Rajpoot. Netizens found the hilarity to be extreme and started with their funny updates. One user called it similar to Gully cricket and another user calls the umpire a magician.

Proved: CIA Survey On India Poll Results Is Fake

Share

A message is going rounds on the internet that America’s top spy agency, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has predicted a defeat for the NDA in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. The assessment is based on a survey conducted. It says the NDA will not cross 177 seats. Or, maybe, just 145 seats.

The message (“The BJP will loose seats and can’t make government in 2019 Lok Sabha polls)” which went viral has been published by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) with its official logo and its website name. The message also ended with an obscure statement, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is by far the most unreliable PM in the country ever.” However, India’s one of the popular news channels, India Today has found it to be a hoax.

It reported that the CIA did not publish any such above-mentioned survey. Also, the BBC doesn’t acknowledge the news. The grammatical mistake ‘loose’ in the headline, itself shows that this viral message is fake. BBC is known for its spotless and untarnished English language and such a blunder coming from them sounds frivolous.

Also, the URL mentioned in the message is genuine but, no such news or survey is shown on the main page of the website. No trace of the survey will be found even after searching with keywords.

When India Today contacted BBC for a confirmation, it says, “This fake survey on the Lok Sabha polls has been circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook, with messages claiming it to be from the BBC News. We’d like to make it absolutely clear that it is fake and does not come from the BBC. The BBC does not support pre-election surveys in India.”
