YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan’s new residence’s house warming in Guntur district Thadepalli is confirmed on February 27th. On the same date, YSRCP’s office will be inaugurated as well.

YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy has extended the invitation to all YSRCP MPs, MLA, MLCs and other important leaders. However, only Jagan’s family members are given invitation for the house warming while no family members will take part in the party office inauguration.

Around 10 AM, the house warming ceremony is scheduled followed by party office’s opening. Jagan is currently in London trip to meet his daughter. He will return to Hyderabad on February 26th and TDP MLAs Gowru Charitha Reddy and Modugula Venugopal Reddy are expected to meet him.

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is touring Kurnool district. On Sunday he addressed a public meeting held at the famous Kondareddy Buruju and made some interesting comments on TDP Rajya Sabha MP TG Venkatesh.

“Many a time TDP MP TG Venkatesh criticised me and made fun of me. But I never countered him. There is a reason behind it,” said Pawan. He went on to add that his first three films ran for 100 days in TG’s theatres in Kurnool district and the TDP MP had offered accommodation for a day back then.

“I also made things easy for him to go to Rajya Sabha. Tungabhadra River is getting polluted because of industries that belong to TG. I will convince him and try to ensure that the river doesn’t get polluted further,” added Pawan.

Sometime back Pawan came down heavily on TG for making a statement in the media that TDP and Jana Sena will join hands ahead of the elections. Pawan was quick enough to clarify things and lashed out at TG for his comments. Later TG said that it was only his thought that TDP and Jana Sena should go for a poll pact.

KTR Writes A Movie Review After Long Time

TRS party president and former IT Minister KT Rama Rao is known for keeping his Twitter timeline quite humorous. Though he voices opinions on various important and crucial issues, he also makes sure that he will be sharing some lighter vein fun stuff as well.

Busy with general elections and later taking care of party affairs, actually KTR kept away from films and film-related stuff for a time. Other than attending Vinaya Vidheya Rama pre-release event, he was not tweeting about films as well. And finally, it looks like he got time to catch a film now.

Last night KTR surprised everyone with his tweet: “May be I am little late but finally watched #KGF What a movie!! Brilliant technically, intense & cool; all at the same time. Superb direction by #PrashanthNeel gripping screenplay, terrific BGM & what a rock star like screen presence! (sic)”.

Though critics haven’t rated well and reviewed it as an average fare, KGF went on to collect quite well in Telugu, while it became industry hit in Kannada with more than 100 crores collection.

Muslim Youth Oppose #SyeRaa Shooting

In a major setback to the team of #SyeRaa, the magnum opus movie featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead, a group of Muslim youths has today opposed the film’s shooting that is going on at Bidar, Karnataka. Here are the details.

Erecting a special set in the Bahmani Castle at Bidar, currently, Sye Raa shooting is planned for a week there. However, the makers have erected some Hindu Gods idols inside the castle especially at the place where Muslims worship. Taking objection to this, some Muslim youths complained to police though Archalogeocial department has given permissions to Sye Raa team.

We hear that police have got the idols removed from the spot and the shooting which has Chiranjeevi and Sudeep participating in it got halted. The unit might come up with other sets at the same venue and continue the shooting, while police are making sure that security at the spot gets beefed up.

Looks like the elections season is going to drag everyone connected with politics and political parties. The newbie who has now entered the league is Jagan’s political strategist and advisor Prashant Kishor and his organization Indian Political Action Committee which is working for YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.

AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in a new attack targeted YSR Congress party and its chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy for unnecessarily creating disharmony in the state in the name of caste and dividing people. “Prashant Kishor who is a consultant to Jagan, is turning Andhra Pradesh into another Bihar,” he said, adding that Kishor’s political strategies for Jagan are ruining the state.

In the same breath, Chandrababu also criticised Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s interference in AP elections and said that his counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao’s plans along with YSRCP’s will not work in Andhra Pradesh. “They have been working with the BJP and trying to corner TDP in every possible way. Their evil designs may have worked in Telangana. But people of AP will not trust these people,” he added.

It is a well-known fact that Prashant Kishor was on Modi’s A-team for boosting Narendra Modi as a Prime Ministerial candidate. His organisation I-PAC has worked in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. His major achievements include Modi’s win as the PM and Nitish Kumar’s win in Bihar. Now, the organisation is helping Jagan in implementing its political strategies and campaigns for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Currently, Prashant Kishor is the vice-president of Janata Dal (United), appointed by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

Janasenani In Rayalaseema: That’s The Mega Mistake

But if we check history once, even Chiranjeevi pulled thousands of youths during his Prajarajyam times. And the minimal performance of PRP could be attributed to the failure in converting these turnouts into votes.

Now if we have to talk about Pawan, the enigmatic leader should look at ways for the attendee-to-voter conversion. For that to happen, Pawan Kalyan should stop committing mega blunders. With elections almost in the backyard, Janasenani hasn’t yet announced his candidates. Though you may ask that TDP and YSRC also didn’t make any announcement in that regard, but they are the parties that have a strong ground force. And to destabilize those parties, Pawan should come up with announcing candidates much earlier.

While people know who is going to contest on TDP and YSRC tickets, they are worried as to whom Pawan Kalyan will pick as his candidate. Once that announcement is made and once if local leaders start standing next to Pawan at the meetings like the one that is taking place in Kurnool today, the attendees of meetings might turn as voters. The lack of local leaders alongside Pawan could be a mega mistake in case if he fails to correct it soon.

‘Gang Leader’ Is Allu Arjun’s Idea?

The title of Nani’s upcoming film ‘Gang Leader’, a Vikram K Kumar’s direction, has surprised everyone. Naming it after Chiranjeevi’s biggest mass hit certainly raised doubts that whether Nani also will be seen in a massy role. But, given that director Vikram is known for making class movies like Ishq and Manam, it is again creating curiosity among audiences about the film’s title.

Though it is titled ‘Gang Leader’, the story is very different from Chiranjeevi starrer 1991 film. It is about a young guy who is behind five women of different ages- a 8 year old little girl, a teenager, a 22-year old hot lady, a 50-year woman and finally an old lady in her 80s. Director Vikram has been working on this script from a long time. It was initially planned with Allu Arjun who advised the director to title the film as ‘Gang Leader’.

A Chiranjeevi’s title to an Allu Arjun’s film would have apparently fetched good craze for that project. But, due to some undisclosed reasons, Bunny backed out of this film. And later, Vikram took the same script to Nani who agreed to work in it without asking for any changes in the script, which was firstly planned with Bunny. But, the filmmaker is going to present the film in a realistic manner.

Why Renu Desai Turned Anchor For Sakshi?

Apparently, Renu’s presence in political circles will surely give a color that she is going against her former husband. Had Renu done this show for any national television or for those channels without any political affiliations, her sense of purpose would have sounded more honest.

Top 5: NTR Mahanayakudu A Maha Disaster

1) NTR Mahanayakudu: Second part of the biopic of NTR is heading for a huge disaster at the box office.

The film is set to become the biggest flop in Balakrishna’s career in terms of return on investment.

While the first part of biopic was able to collect nearly Rs. 20 crore share, second part is unlikely to collect at least one-fourth of it.

The film has become the biggest embarrassment for Balakrishna and his diehard fans.

2) Anjali CBI: Nayanthara’s crime thriller Anjali CBI failed to repeat the magic of its original in Telugu states. Like many of her recent films, this too will go down unnoticed in theaters.

3) Total Dhamaka: Bollywood market is witnessing more successes in the New Year. After Uri and Gully Boy, here comes another smash hit at the ticket windows.

With over 60 crore first weekend, Total Dhamaka is set to become another big hit for Bollywood.

4) Gully Boy: Gully boy has been doing well across multiplexes. It had a decent second weekend in Hyderabad plexes. However, it is not getting that much attention across single screens.

5) Mithai: Young comedians Priyadarshi and Rahul promoted the movie extensively, but it failed to get decent opening.

The film has been rejected outright that the director and Rahul had to write open letters to audience apologizing for making such a lousy film.

KCR’s ‘return gift’ to Andhra Jyothy & Eenadu!

Now, it’s time for TRS president and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to give ‘return gift’ to “Andhra and yellow media”, especially Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu media groups.

Both these newspapers played truant with KCR during Telangana Assembly polls held in December last.

These newspapers which remained quiet and supported KCR when he was in power from June 2014 to September 2018 suddenly started showing their ‘true colours’ as soon as KCR dissolved the TS Legislative Assembly on September 6, 2018 and became a caretaker CM, with no full powers at his disposal.

From the very next day, these papers starting highlighting TDP chief and AP CM N.Chandrababu Naidu’s news in top headlines in Telangana, while KCR got little coverage leaving readers in Telangana confused whether they were reading AP edition or TS edition of these newspapers.

The media groups ‘yellow mania’ reached even higher peaks as polling approached.

They published ‘fake surveys’ of Lagadapati Rajagopal predicting TRS defeat and the victory of Congress, TDP combine Mahakutami, in top headlines.

KCR feared that this may confuse Telangana voters before polling who may opt for the winning Mahakutami over TRS.

But the yellow media’s efforts proved futile with TRS retaining power with a huge mandate.

CM KCR himself retained the portfolio of I&PR department (information and public relations), which gives government advertisements and fixes ad rates for newspapers and channels.

The managements of Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu were learnt to have submitted ad and rate proposals to I&PR department recently.

KCR, who is waiting for this opportunity, has reportedly thrown these proposals into the dustbin while clearing the proposals of others.

Though both Andhra Jyothy and Eenade are desperately trying to woo KCR again with ‘too much’ positive coverage for KCR and TRS government, he is reportedly not trusting them going by recent experience during TS Assembly polls.

Eenadu went even a step further and publishing all the headlines in ‘pucca Telangana slang’ to get closer to KCR, which is not used even by KCR’s own Namasthe Telangana.

‘Took over 20 drafts to lock script of Jayalalithaa biopic’

Filmmaker Vijay, who is all set to direct a biopic on the life of actor-politician J. Jayalalithaa titled “Thalaivi”, says that it took him and his team over 20 drafts to lock the final version of the script.

On the 71st birth anniversary of Jayalalithaa on Sunday, the title of the project along with a poster was revealed.

To be produced by Vishnu Induri, “Thalaivi” will start rolling from April.

“When producer Vishnu Induri approached me with an offer to direct this biopic, I felt a sense of responsibility more than excitement. This was a story of an achiever; a story of one woman who fought for her place in a male-dominated world.

“It was meant to be told with honesty. The stature of this tall leader and her courage inspired me to say yes as soon as I was offered this opportunity,” Vijay told IANS.

The film has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar while Nirav Shah will crank the camera. “Baahubali” and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” writer Vijayendra Prasad has been brought on board to supervise the writing process.

“It took us around nine months of research and over 20 drafts to finally lock the script. We are delighted to have Vijayendra Prasad Sir helping us through the process of writing. His contribution will be of great value. This will be a very honest biopic of our beloved leader,” he said.

Interestingly, another Jayalalithaa biopic titled “The Iron Lady” is currently in the offing. On Sunday, the makers of this project announced that they are targeting a February 2020 release.

Nithya Menen plays Jayalalithaa in “The Iron Lady”, being directed by A Priyadarshini. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Vijay said “Thalaivi” will be the official biopic on the life of Jayalalithaa. He revealed that they have also taken permission from Jayalalithaa’s nephew Deepak.

“I thank Deepak Sir for granting us the official status. We are in the process of finalising the rest of cast and crew. We start shooting from April,” he added.

Viswamitra Trailer: All About A Mysterious Man

Director Raj Kiran of Geetanjali fame is coming up with yet another thriller named Viswamitra.

It is about a mysterious man who is helping a woman (played by Nanditha). A cop (Prasanna) and a bad guy (Asutosh Rana) are after the invisible man.

Like Geetanjali the director has mixed comedy with the thrilling elements. The film is low on production values and banking heavily on the mystery element. Viswamitra is releasing on March 21 in theaters.

Raj Kiran’s second film Tripura was a misfire. Can the director score another success like Geetanjali or would he end up with another Tripura is to be seen.

With thrillers coming dime a dozen lately, Viswamitra will need something exceptional to grab the attention of ticket paying public.

KVP faults Modi and his ex-ally on SCS

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao does not want to spare Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, even though his party’s central leadership is going soft on the latter.

During the public meeting addressed at Tirupati last week, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and all the other party leaders from the state did not utter a word against Naidu while criticising the Narendra Modi government on going back on the promise of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

But only KVP made a reference to the TDP president and criticised the latter for not taking up the special category status issue with the Centre in the last four years.

On Monday, too, KVP wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, attacking him for the the injustice meted out to the State by the Central government for the last five years, in the context of Modi’s proposed visit to Visakhapatnam on March 1.

“The people of State are witnessing the true colours of BJP and its allied party for five years in denying them the special category status which was assured and promised to them by the Centre by inventing frivolous and fictitious reasons,” he said, without of course naming the TDP directly.

KVP said the people of the state had well understood the opportunistic politics being played by the BJP and it’s once upon a time allied party to gain once again in general elections and to continue he power without considering their sentiments and wellbeing.

The Congress MP found fault with the Centre and the TDP for ignoring several other promises made in the AP Reorganization Act 2014, such as separate railway zone for Visakhapatnam, release of adequate funds for Polavaram project, special economic package for Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra districts, Dugarajapatnam port, Kadapa steel plant, funding for Amaravati capital, bridging of resource gap, lack of funds for higher educational institutions, green field oil refinery and petro-chemical complex at Kakinada etc.

He demanded that Modi enter Andhra Pradesh only after fulfilling all the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act.

Indian documentary wins Oscars

India’s ‘Period. End of Sentence’ won the prestigious Oscar award in the Best Documentary Short Subject category. The film is about women in India about their menstruation. It is directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi and produced by Guneet Monga.

The film starred real ‘Pad Man’ Arunachalam Murgunantham and it is a 26 minutes feature available on Netflix. The film shows the experience of girls and women in Hapur in northern India in the installation of a pad machine in their village.

‘Period. End of Sentence’ competed with ‘Black Sheep’, ‘End Game’, ‘Lifeboat’ and ‘A Night At The Garden’ in the documentary subject category.

Revanth Reddy with Mahanayakudu!

On Sunday evening, the former TDP MLA surprised everyone by posting a picture of him at a cinema theatre wherein he posed along with a statue of legendary NTR.

He tagged it saying: “#Mahanayakudu” and sent out an indication that he watched the second part of NTR biopic featuring Balakrishna and Vidya Balan in lead roles.
