NTR Kathanayakudu not only left its buyers in huge losses, but also the makers have suffered losses for acquiring the theatrical rights of the film.
We reported earlier that one of the producers of Sai Korrapati lost Rs. 8 crore in the areas that he released the film.
Even director Krish had a share in Guntur distribution rights it seems. He bagged the Guntur distribution rights for Rs. 6 crore and has given fifty percent share in it to another distributor.
NTR Kathanayakudu suffered Rs. 3 crore loss in Guntur, which means Krish lost Rs. 1.5 crore on his investment.
Producer and director usually bags the rights of their movie when they have immense confidence in the project.
Krish and Sai Korrapati bagging distribution rights clearly shows their confidence in the product. However, the film has let them down like many others who had lost huge money in it.
Luckily, all the buyers of NTR Kathanayakudu got to release the second part of biopic for free.
Can Krish and Sai recover their losses with NTR Mahanayakudu?
Soon after the release of ‘Geetha Govindam’, director Parasuram was flooded with many tempting offers.
Some producers even offered him the remuneration above Rs 12 Cr but he didn’t take them up as Allu Aravind asked him to wait.
Allu Aravind promised him that he’d provide him big star’s dates. Parasuram thought that Allu Arjun may give him the chance immediately.
Allu Arjun has already begun working on his look for director Trivikram’s movie that will be launched shortly.
Parasuram is hoping that Bunny may allot dates for him from June. But he is yet to get clarity on this front as well.
According to our sources, Bunny and Allu Aravind have not given any clarity to Parasuram till now.
If Allu Arjun don’t give him dates this year, Parasuram will be left with limited choices. Although Mahesh Babu has promised him an offer, he will have to work with Sukumar and Sandeep Vanga first.
Ram Charan and NTR will not be available till the second half of 2020.
So, Parasuram’s position is back to square one.
Y S Bharathi, wife of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, is likely to jump into electoral politics soon, if the talk going on in the party circles is to be believed.
According to party sources, Jagan is planning to rope his wife into politics and field her from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in the coming elections.
However, it is subject to the development that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu fields his minister Adinarayana Reddy in the Kadapa parliamentary elections.
Adinarayana Reddy was elected on YSRC ticket from Jammalamadugu constituency amd later defected to the TDP to become a cabinet minister.
This time, however, is facing a stiff competition from his arch rival P Ramasubba Reddy, who lost to him in the previous elections. Ramasubba Reddy is firm on contesting again only from Jammalamadugu.
Naidu has been desperately trying to bring about a compromise between Adinarayana Reddy and Ramasubba Reddy, but in vain.
He suggested that Adinarayana Reddy contest from Kadapa parliamentary constituency, as he is the only person who can give a tough fight to YSRC in Kadapa.
If Adinarayana agrees to contest, then sitting YSRC MP from Kadapa Y Avinash Reddy (who resigned from his post demanding special category status) will have to face tough battle and Jagan does not want to take any such risk.
That is precisely why Jagan is planning to field Bharathi in a strategic move.
The people of Kadapa cannot think of voting against her if she contests and then, war would be completely one-sided!

Young hero Nikhil was shocked to see his latest flick Mudra getting listed in the online ticket booking portals. The culprits behind this have even used the title logo of Mudra which irked Nikhil and the makers.
Mudra title has now been changed as Arjun Suravaram. It’s his character name in the film where he plays the role of an investigative journalist who undertakes a burning social issue.
Fresh poster of Arjun Suravaram has been unveiled where Nikhil defining his character can be seen capturing something from a running car.
TN Santosh is helming the film which is done with shooting part. The post-production works are underway.
Arjun Suravaram is all set for grand release on March 29th in summer.
1) F2: F2 has had another fantastic weekend at the box office. Other producers are boosting F2’s profits by not releasing any notable films.
F2 dominated the weekend with superb shares across Telugu states. The film is now eyeing at Rs. 80 crore (distributor share) finish, which looks almost certain at this point.
2) Mr. Majnu: Akhil’s romantic drama suffered huge fall in collections during week days and couldn’t see notable rise in the second weekend.
The film is a failure with more than thirty percent losses for its buyers. The team woke up late and toured the theaters playing Mr. Majnu, but it was already late by then.
3) Manikarnika: Manikarnika has been steady at the box office so far. It is neither sensational nor dull, but has maintained a steady graph all through.
The controversies surrounding direction credits have shown little impact on its collections. Telugu version of Manikarnika did better in this weekend compared to its first weekend.
4) Uri – The Surgical Strike: Uri is unstoppable at the Indian and overseas box office as well. The film has registered Non-Baahubali 2 highest fourth weekend collections in India, which is a testimony to its success.
5) Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga: The unusual romance in ELKDTAL has been receiving good reviews from all corners, but the collections remained average throughout the first weekend.
EAST GODAVARI: Seven people were arrested on Saturday in connection with the recent one-tonne ”Nandi” idol theft from an ancient Shiva shrine in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, the police said.
The accused had stolen the idol from the famous Bala Tripura Sundari Sametha Agastheswara Swamy Ramachandrapuram Mandal temple on January 23, believing rumours that diamonds were embedded in it.
The police later recovered the idol in a broken state, around 50 kilometres away from the temple site.
S. Lakshmikantam, Sub Inspector Ramachandrapuram told ANI, “The accused told us that they had heard from some sadhu (priest) about the presence of diamonds in the idol, which is why they stole it. However, they did not find the diamonds.”
The police have registered an FIR against the accused and filed a case. They further said it has launched an investigation and are on the lookout for five more people who are allegedly involved in the case.
