Modi has gone mad & I’m not afraid to die for India: Didi
Protesting against the NDA Government’s high-handedness and misuse of democratic institutions like the CBI, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee who is a vocal critic of the BJP today sat on a dharna stating that she is fighting to “Save the Constitution.”
Didi got furious after several CBI officers questioned Kolkata Police chief Rajeev Kumar in connection with Sharada chit-fund scam, following which they were allegedly take to the police station and questioned. However, the BJP sources as well as CBI sources state that the CBI officers were arrested by the state police.
However, the State Police claims that CBI officers’ behaviour was objectionable and they had been questioned whether they had the documents to prove that the Kolkata Police Chief was guilty. But, the CBI has been spreading information that the Police Chief has been absconding.
This war with the CBI made Mamatha furious who claimed that the BJP is torturing Bengal to avenge the success of her “Brigade Rally” which brought together all anti-BJP leaders. “They are forcibly trying to destroy Bengal. Yesterday you saw the language of PM where he threatened.” Not stopping at that, she said: “Modi has gone mad. I appeal to people to please save India. Save the Constitution. I’m not afraid to die for my country. I’m ready to sacrifice my life for India, come what may,” a protesting Mamatha echoed.
On the other hand, the CBI has also taken Governor’s appointment in West Bengal to explain the situation to him. Following this drama by the BJP government, Opposition leaders have been offering their support and condemning this “arrogant” attitude of the BJP, blaming the Modi-Shah duo for undermining democratic institutions. Leaders of various Opposition parties including Akhilesh Yadav, Chandrababu Naidu, Omar Abdullah, Ahmed Patel, MK Stalin had called Mamatha to extend their solidarity and support.
With just two months for the Lok Sabha elections, looks like the BJP Government is trying to stifle all anti-BJP allies with cases or scams by using the ED or CBI to its own political benefit. Earlier, it was Chandrababu Naidu, then came ED raids on Mayawati and Akshilesh, now it is Mamatha. So, who is BJP’s next target? The political games in the run upto elections have begun and it is getting tense!

Massive price for Yatra first ticket
A hardcore fan of former late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy surprised the cinephiles by purchasing a single ticket of Yatra for a whopping $ 6,116 (Rs 4.37 lakhs) at an auction in Seattle, US.
Munishwar Reddy, an ardent YSR fan, bought the first ticket (a $12 ticket) of Yatra for Rs 4.37 lakhs in a bid. The makers of the film are going to donate the fund generated through this auction to the YSR Foundation. The film ‘Yatra’ is based on Rajasekhar Reddy’s statewide padayatra and how he emerged as the Chief Minister of AP in 2004.
Directed by Mahi V Raghav, the film starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty in the lead is going to hit screens on 8th February. Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy have bankrolled this biographical project under 70 MM entertainment banner. The makers have thanked all those fans who attended the auction event in the US. Recently, the pre-release event of Yatra was held grandly in Hyderabad.

Why Is KCR Silent On CBI-Mamata Fight?
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been talking about the formation of a federal front of regional parties at the national level, is unusually silent over the ongoing clash between the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the West Bengal government headed by Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee over the CBI raids.
While his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu was the first one to condemn the CBI raids in West Bengal and support the fight by Mamata, there was no statement yet from KCR till now.This has surprised many, as KCR always claims the support of Mamata Banerjee for his federal front plans.
In fact, KCR flew all the way down to Kolkata in December to meet Mamata to discuss the federal front plans.However, when Mamata started being friendly with the Congress party, KCR has kept himself away.He also skipped the massive opposition rally organized by Mamata at Kolkata on January 19, though she sent an invite to him and personally spoke to him.
KCR’s silence has lent credence to the allegations that he was in fact cosying up to the BJP and his federal front was only to indirectly benefit Narendra Modi by splitting the opposition vote.Naturally, the Telangana Congress party questioned KCR’s silence over the alleged central harassment of the Mamata government in West Bengal.
Telangana PCC campaign committee chairperson and actress Vijayashanti wondered why KCR had not uttered a single word in support of Mamata.She sought to know why KCR remained tight-lipped on Modi’s witch-hunting policies which were against the perspective of federal government.
She also alleged that KCR’s silence sent wrong signals to the people, at a time when the Centre was misusing its powers in West Bengal.
Naidu Cashes In On Mamata Fight Against CBI
The ongoing tussle between the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Trinamul Congress party government headed by Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal over the CBI raids came in handy for Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The TDP chief, who has been projecting himself as a fighter against the Modi government, sought to cash in on Mamata’s fight against the CBI.
It has strengthened his argument that the Modi government is harassing the regional parties which are fighting against the discriminating politics of the Centre.
Soon after the Mamata’s aggressive stand against the CBI authorities who were detained by the Kolkata police for raiding the house of city police commissioner, Naidu was the first one to tweet his support to Mamata Didi.
Not only that, Naidu left for New Delhi on Monday afternoon to have a meeting with all anti-BJP parties to discuss the Centre’s highhanded behavior.
He is also planning to visit Kolkata later in the evening to extend his solidarity with Mamata Banerjee so that he can get national recognition for their fight with the Centre.
In the morning, Naidu told the party functionaries over a teleconference that that the BJP government had been reopening old cases against the opposition leaders in the country during the elections time.
He alleged that Modi and BJP president Amit Shah had been misusing the central investigative agencies to torture opposition leaders across the country, which is bad precedent in democracy.
Naidu said that as Banerjee’s Kolkata rally was a grand success, the BJP leaders harassing her now by using the Central Bureau of Investigation.
He said that he will discuss with all party leaders on how to take it up as national issue to protect the federal structure and to save the democracy, in New Delhi.
He said that even in AP too, Modi had tried to intimidate the state government by entrusting the case of knife attack on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to National Investigation Agency. This is a direct interference in the state affairs, he charged.
NDA doors closed forever for Chandrababu: Amit Shah
Srikakulam: BJP President Amit Shah on Monday said the doors of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were closed forever for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Exuding confidence that NDA will retain power and Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister again after the 2019 elections, he predicted that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief will once again try to come into NDA fold.
“I want to assure the people of Andhra Pradesh and BJP workers that we have closed NDA’s doors forever for Chandrababu Naidu. He will not find a place in NDA,” he told public meeting at Palasa town in Srikakulam district.
Recalling that Naidu started his political career as an MLA of Congress, the BJP chief said he always switched loyalties to enjoy power.
“He later joined the TDP formed by NTR and enjoyed power. When he got the opportunity, he betrayed NTR who had promoted him and captured power and the entire party,” said Shah.
“Chandrababu Naidu kept wandering for 10 years and when he realised that he can’t come to power on his own, he joined hands with Modiji and NDA. Now he has left NDA and making allegations against Modiji.”
The BJP chief alleged said Naidu joined hands with the Congress which had insulted Telugu people and did injustice to Andhra Pradesh.
He recalled that TDP was floated by NTR on the slogan of Telugu pride. “Now after the drubbing in Telangana elections, he is trying to form Maha Gathbandhan.”
Shah said Naidu was trying to mislead the people of Andhra Pradesh.
On the TDP chief’s allegation that Centre did injustice to Andhra Pradesh, Shah challenged him to compare the help extended by NDA to the state during last five years with the help received during 55 years of Congress rule.
He claimed that NDA had given 10 times more help than the Congress.
Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya confirms her wedding
Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth, who is known for helming films such as “Kochadaiiyaan” and “VIP 2′, on Monday said she will tie the knot with actor-businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi.
The wedding is slated to take place here on February 11.
“One week to go. Bride mode. Ved Vishagan Soundarya,” she tweeted.
This will be Soundarya’s second marriage.
Soundarya had earlier married industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar in 2010 and they filed for divorce in 2016 and then got separated. They share a son, Ved.
Having started her career as a graphic designer, Soundarya has worked in films such as “Baba”, “Majaa”, “Sandakozhi” and “Sivaji”.
She made her directorial debut with her father starrer “Kochadaiiyaan”.

Naidu using AP Intelligence to spy on Jagan in Hyd!
TDP president and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu is leaving no stone unturned to beat YSRCP in upcoming AP Assembly polls.
Naidu, who faced TRS wrath for deploying AP intelligence sleuths in Telangana during recent TS Assembly polls, continues to resort to same tactics even for AP Assembly polls.
After KTR met YSRCP chief YS Jagan at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad in January, the spying on Jagan in Hyderabad has increased.
After completing his marathon pada yatra in AP recently, Jagan has been confined to his house in Hyderabad for most of the time.
AP intelligence sleuths are conducting recce near Jagan’s residence to gather information on who is coming to meet Jagan and also track Jagan’s movements in city like where he is going and whom he is meeting secretely.
They are submitting report to Naidu on Jagan’s movements regularly.
TRS leaders are accusing Naidu of misusing common capital Hyderabad by deploying his intelligence sleuths.
They say Hyderabad has ceased to exist as common capital for AP for all practical purposes especially after AP High Court moved to Amaravathi last month.
TRS leaders say that Naidu is violating AP Reorganisation Act, by deploying police and intelligence staff in Hyderabad.
