Jagan ‘No’, Prabhas Doubtful!

Share

Speculations were rife that Prabhas and YS Jagan could attend the pre-release function of Yatra, the film based on late YSR’s Padayatra. While Prabhas is a close friend and classmate of film’s producer Vijay Chilla, the film being based on his beloved father late YSR, Jagan is also rumoured to attend the film’s pre-release event to be held on Feb 1st in Hyderabad. So both sides (Prabhas and YS Jagan) have connection with Yatra.

In fact, Prabhas had also graced the pre-release event of Vijay’s last production Anando Brahma. Naturally, many are expecting that Prabhas would also attend the pre-release event of Mammootty-starrer Yatra. And since the film chronicles late YSR’s Padayatra and is about YSR’s political journey, it is usual to expect that YS Jagan would attend the film’s pre-release function.

However, it is learnt that YS Jagan may not attend the film’s pre-release event. Jagan is said to be not keen on attending the film’s promotional event. On the other hand, it is heard that Prabhas is also doubtful as he is busy with the works of Saaho. But producers of Yatra are said to be trying to get Prabhas for the event. As of now, only Mammootty has been confirmed. Let’s wait and see, whether there would be any last-minute surprises or not.

Red Flag To Daggubati in YCP

Share

Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and his son Daggubati Hitesh Chenchuram’s meeting with YS Jagan and reports of their entry into YCP is being opposed by YCP leaders.

YCP’s Parchur leaders have all recently gathered against Daggubatis entry into the party. Mandal conveners of Parchur and other leaders, party workers of the constituency have met at a private function hall and passed a resolution against Daggubati Venkateswara Rao and Hitesh.

Parchur’s YCP leaders are planning to meet YS Jagan very soon and raise their voice against Daggubatis. YSRCP leaders in Prakasam district are opposing them alleging Daggubatis of having ‘self-centered’ nature.

They want Jagan to deny ticket to Daggubatis as they’re joining party in the last minute (ahead of elections) and rather wants to do justice to leaders, party workers who have been working in the grass roots from longtime.

YCP leaders allege that Daggubati Venkateswara Rao was behind imposing “false” cases against YCP party workers in the last four years. They also alleged that they are coming into the party amidst reports that YCP would come to power in the coming elections. YCP’s local cadre turning against Daggubatis is now seen as an interesting political development.

KCR to visit Vizag again

Share

Telangana CM KCR is likely to Vizag for the second time. Vishaka’s Sri Sarada Peetham has invited for KCR for the installation of Ammavaari statue in the premises of the Peetham.

Responding positively, KCR’s office reportedly confirmed him attending it. On February 14th, KCR’s visit is scheduled and the Peetham is said to be doing large scale of arrangements for it.

KCR’s last visit to Vizag was on December 23rd. He was grandly welcomed at Vizag airport by his community supporters and few of TRS sympathizers. Also people gathered in large number outside the Peetham to have a glimpse of him. He performed Raja Shyamala ritual at the Peetham and left to Odisha then.

This visit of KCR is expected to be talk of the town even though it has no political connection.

Pawan Kalyan responds on meeting KCR & KTR

Share

At the Governor’s At Home event on the eve of Republic Day, media and everyone’s attention was on Pawan Kalyan as he had brief chat with Telangana CM KCR and TRS working president KTR.

The next day, the entire media invited debates about this incident. They analysed what did Pawan discuss with KCR and KTR. Pawan or Jana Sena sources did not comment even though their being a heavy criticism from the ruling and opposition parties.

But finally Pawan opened up. Addressing the public in Mangalagiri, he said, “If I talk with Telangana leaders, it doesn’t mean that I bowed my head down. I have respect for leaders who hold positions that were bound by constitution of India. I’m giving my word that I will never let down the spirit of Andhra Pradesh’s self-respect.”

Couple of media have claimed that KCR had suggested Pawan to go for a poll pact with YSRCP while KTR asked the Jana Sena chief to be extra cautious during the elections.

Irrespective of these things, Pawan has been pitching the self-respect voice a lot these days and this might be his slogan as well in the elections. How well will this pay for Pawan and Jana Sena? People of AP will decide it.

Rahul Gandhi’s Mega Poll Promise

Share

Congress National President Rahul Gandhi made a heavy promise to voters during a campaign stating that if the party is voted to power, then it will implement universal basic income for the poor.

Calling it the Minimum Income Guarantee, he said the dream of building a new India is possible by eliminating poverty. “We cannot build a new India while millions of our brothers & sisters suffer the scourge of poverty. If voted to power in 2019, the Congress is committed to a Minimum Income Guarantee for every poor person, to help eradicate poverty & hunger. This is our vision & our promise,” he explained.

The Minimum Income Guarantee is a rip-off of the Universal Basic Income idea which is being considered globally as economies become unstable and people are going out of jobs, forced into abject poverty. The idea first made its way into India through Economic Survey of India in 2016-17 which was considered for Economically Weaker Sections.

According to the data, the Congress is considering Rs.6000-7000 per person per annum which could come upto 5% of India’s GDP. While the promise definitely seems like a bright idea, its implementation and the process to roll it out still needs debate and discussion. We also need to understand its long-term benefits and whether it would really push the poor out of poverty, as intended!

Charan Asked To Remove ‘Chiranjeevi’ From #SyeRaa Song

Share

Mega powerstar Ram Charan is currently taking part in the shooting of his upcoming film #RRR that is being carved by director giant SS Rajamouli. And then, he is also taking care of his upcoming film as producer, Megastar’s #SyeRaa.

There is an interesting talk about this film, which says that Ram Charan actually asked to remove Chiranjeevi from a song in the magnum opus Sye Raa. Actually, legendary lyricist, Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry has written a song praising the greatness of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy where he included the word ‘Chiranjeevi’ repeatedly in the lines.

Finding that, Charan is said to have asked Sirivennela to replace the word as he felt that it looks like the song might go like a self-praise rather a true emotion. Upon hearing this request, Sirivennela garu is said to have got overwhelmed by looking at Charan’s down to earth and humble nature and changed the word immediately.

Well, all this was revealed by Chiranjeevi and Sirivennela as they met other day to celebrate the ‘Padma Sri’ award of the later.

YS Jagan Told This To Me : Mahi

Share

Director Mahi V Raghav’s name may not ring a bell. The director of Taapsee’s horror comedy Anando Brahma is in news as his much-awaited film Yatra (that chronicles late YSR’s Padayatra) is due for release on Feb 8th.

“I have met YS Jagan only twice. First time, I had went to show him the first look poster of the film. He said he had already seen the poster. Second time, I’ve met him to show the film’s teaser. Either times, he hadn’t given me any advice or any piece of suggestion. All he told me was that I’m making a film about my leader. So, it is in between my leader (YSR) and myself. He questioned me how he can come in between.”

Mahi elaborates on his brief interaction with Jagan. “I think Jagan knows the creative space of a filmmaker. He said he wouldn’t like to intervene in my story and my film. He is very gracious enough. In fact, the biggest thing is that neither him nor anyone from his side have raised any objections when he come to know that I’m making a film. Despite the fact that I’m not so popular director with only two-film-old, they haven’t created any obstacles (like denying permissions) or etc. If they want to interfere or if they want a film on YSR, probably they would have ensured that a bigger director is roped in and can get the film done with higher budgets,” adds Mahi.

Jagan’s Only Request

Mahi tells YS Jagan’s only request. “When I had met him, I had told him that my film is about his Padayatra and his public schemes. Jagan had asked me to give credit to leader YSR only for what he had done to people. He clearly told me not to give credit for things his father had not done. Jagan wants the film to be realistic and doesn’t want it to be glorified and doesn’t want it to be too praising about YSR. Probably, Jagan understood that biopics are glorified these days.

Yatra isn’t Biopic

Mahi clarifies that Yatra is not biopic as assumed by a section of people, media. He says, “Yatra is not a biopic. It is like any movie with good dose of drama and interesting elements that audiences would like to see on screen.”

Origin of Yatra

Talking about the genesis of Yatra, Mahi recalls, “There is no particular incident or event that inspired me to do a film on YSR. There are several instances where I interacted with common people for a general chit chat ( in cab journeys) and their experiences with YSR and his schemes, policies have helped a lot of people and their families in one way or the other. I came to know about late YSR a lot and those things have all added up and that’s when I felt YSR’s story to be picturised on screen.”

Directing Mammootty

Mahi refrains from saying “directing” Mammootty. He reasons, “It is not correct to say that a young filmmaker like me directed Mammootty. Mammootty is a big star and he knows what the role wants and he just did it simply. He is a great movie buff. He is passionate about films. I have never seen a person who loves cinema so much. He enters into caravan, he watches cinema or serials or any content irrespective of the language. He keeps talking about films. Despite having in industry for so long, he is not bored of films and he keeps watching films. Frankly, I didn’t direct him. He has done his part so well. Same is the case with editor Sreekar Prasad and lyric writer Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry. It is obscene to say that I directed Sreekar Prasad and Sirivennela garu. I hardly know how to write Telugu. So, how can I direct Sirivennela garu. They are very experienced than me and they all have helped me in shaping up Yatra.”

What’s next?

Mahi says he is keeping his fingers crossed for the release of Yatra and how audiences would receive it. He says the result of Yatra would decide the fate of his next film.

Mega Hero Threat To His Own Brother?

Share

One more mega hero has announced his acting debut. He is none other than Chiru and Pawan’s nephew and Sai Dharam Tej’s own younger brother. He is Vaisshnav Tej. And he has collaborated with first-time director and first-time heroine.

Now, the timing of launch of Vaisshnav is raising many eyeballs. Given that Sai Dharam Tej is delivering disasters after disasters (owing to poor choices such as Thikka, Jawaan, Winner, Nakshatram, Inttelligent, Tej I Love You) and he is not in form and yet to bounce back, the launch of Vaisshnav at this juncture is debatable.

Usually, younger brothers are launched after elder ones prove their mettle. Be it Allu Arjun and Allu Sirish or NTR and Kalyan Ram, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil or Vijay Deverakonda and Anand Deverakonda, Vishnu Manchu and Manoj Manchu, et al, if we closely observe there is some gap between brothers’ careers and also only one among them have proved themselves so far while others are yet to prove. Even Chirajneevi and Pawan Kalyan have huge gap and the latter is launched only after the former is a Mega Star. Chiru, Pawan are the brothers who succeeded. Other than the duo, no others haven’t become successful. Only either one of them turned out to be successful.

So, Vaisshnav is poised as a threat to Sai. Or do both can succeed? Only time will prove.

YS Jagan has no clue about ‘Yatra’

Share

Generally when biopics are made, any filmmaker needs to take the consent of the particular personality. Also to avoid unnecessary things post release, a filmmaker should also disclose what he is going to show on the big screen. To make everything simpler, it’s better to hand over the complete script to the person or family members related to him/her. Post getting an approval, the biopic hits the sets.

A director needs to be little extra cautious when it comes to making a film on political leader. Because, their family members will be keenly observing each and every aspect of the film’s script. However, the biopic made on late YS Rajasekhar Reddy had things the opposite way. None from the family read the script and more surprisingly YS Jagan did not show any interest at least for having a glance.

Director Mahi V Raghav met Jagan couple of times, when the politician was on ‘padayatra.’ After showing the first look and teaser, Mahi tried to take Jagan’s time and narrate the whole script. To him, Jagan reportedly said, “As a director you have already created your imagination to show the film in a peculiar way. I don’t want to change the vision of your’s by listening to the script. Do as you like it.”

Revealing the much anticipated suspense of Jagan’s role in ‘Yatra,’ director Mahi said, “I did not want to deviate the subject of YSR’s historic ‘padayatra’ and so Jagan’s role is sidelined.”

Kangana’s 70% Shoot Claim: Netizens Laughing

Share

All the while, star heroine Kangana Ranaut is busy claiming that she has shot almost 70% of “Manikarnika” movie, while Krish carved only the rest. And then, after asking the Telugu director to calm down, even her sister Rangoli has officially released a statement saying that Kangana shot the majority of the film.

But netizens are neither blind nor deaf to dig into what has happened in the past. Actually, there is an official statement coming from Manikarnika team in April 2017 that the shooting is started. Then in September 2018, they have given a statement saying that the film will be shot for 45 days more to facilitate some patchwork and reshoots. Then, Krish made his exit.

Going by the above revelations, if Krish directed only 30% film in 1 year 6 months, should we believe that Kangana shot 70% in just 3 months, that too a period drama full of visual effects? No way. It appears that Krish has shot a majority of the film, and Kangana might have reshot few portions to her liking and chopped others.

Well, there is a limit for everything and grabbing someone else’s creative efforts and hard work may not help Kangana Ranaut down the lane. But before all this, netizens are laughing at her claims as the facts are clear and shining everywhere.
