A delegation of young Hindi film actors and filmmakers like Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday to discuss how the entertainment industry can contribute to nation building.
Karan, who was a part of past industry meetings with the PM, led the delegation which included names like Ekta Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar.
After the meeting, where the Bollywood squad clicked a group selfie with Modi, Karan wrote on Instagram: “Powerful and timely conversations can bring about change and this was one of what we hope will become a regular conversation. Meeting the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi today was an incredible opportunity.
“As a community, there is a huge interest to contribute to nation building. There is so much that we want to do. And can do and this dialogue was towards how and what ways we can do that. When the youngest country (in demography) joins hands with the largest movie industry in the world, we hope to be a force to reckon with. Together we would love to inspire and ignite positive changes to a transformative India.”
Karan also thanked the government on behalf of the film industry for the GST reduction in movie ticket prices that was implemented recently. It was a result of the meetings held with the PM last year.
While their past meetings drew ire for zero women representation, this time Alia, Ekta, Ashwiny and Bhumi lent the woman power.
Pawan’s Ex-Wife Not Keeping Well?
Any development pertaining to a celebrity, even if it is very small issue, is a big news for the media, since it will evoke a lot of curiosity among the readers including the fans of the celebrity.
Though it is an embarrassment to the celebrities, media does not leave them and keeps a watch on them always. Of late, one such gossip pertaining to a celebrity has been doing rounds in the media.
The celebrity is none other than Renu Desai, actress and producer and also ex-wife of power star Pawan Kalyan. The gossip is that she has not been keeping well for quite some time.
This has come to light following a report that a Telugu producer had approached Renu Desai to request her to act in his film in a mother’s character.
Apparently, the producer thought she would bring a lot of mileage to the film if she returns to the Telugu film industry again, as she still had a lot of craze among the audiences.
However, Renu Desai had rejected the offer on the ground that she had not been keeping good health for quite some time and she badly needed complete rest. So, the producer had dropped the proposal.
In fact, the producer had a good acquaintance with Renu Desai and she would have agreed to his request at least for the sake of their friendship. But she had to turn down the proposal because she was really not well, say the sources.
BJP MLA Akula Quits, To Join Janasena
Rajahmundry urban MLA Akula Satynarayana, who had won on BJP ticket with TDP’s support in 2014, has resigned to his party. He is likely to join Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena very soon. It is learnt that Akula is in touch with Pawan and his team and has got clear assurance. Akula is planning to join Janasena in the presence of Pawan on 21st January.
Although Akula was in BJP, he had been maintaining cordial relation with Janasena. He had earlier celebrated Pawan Kalyan’s birthday on 2nd September in Rajahmundry with fanfare.
Akula had been facing a lot of ire from people. The development in Rajahmundry city isn’t as expected. A lot of problems are still persistent as Akula failed to address. Be it supply of drinking water or disbursement of pensions to people in his constituency or housing to poor, Akula have failed to deliver. All these are working against him.
Now, Akula is planning to join Janasena and hoping to bank on Pawan’s individual charisma.
Meanwhile, TDP’s sr leader and Rajahmundry rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary is likely to move to Rajahmundry urban constituency in the coming elections. Akula’s resignation to BJP is seen as a setback to Lotus party. One has to wait and see, whether Akula would be helpful to Janasena or not.

Nayan Didn’t Watch ‘Her Film’ First In LA
Top siren Nayantara is currently enjoying her time in Los Angeles as usual. Whenever she gets time, she is actually flying to the USA with her boyfriend Vignesh Shivan and both are spending a cozy time.
Almost two weeks ago, Nayan and Vignesh left for Los Angeles and they might be back only after wrapping their Pongal holidays there. Guess what, this festival we have Nayantara’s film “Viswasam” where she teamed up with superstar Ajith is hitting cinemas. But surprisingly she didn’t watch this film first.
Along with Viswasam, actually, Rajnikanth’s Petta is also hitting cinemas today. And last night, Nayan preferred to watch Rajni’s film first and then watched Viswasasm with her boyfriend at a theatre in Los Angeles. Well, looks like the lovebirds are huge fans of Rajni.
On the other hand, Nayan will be soon joining the crew of Sye Raa for their newest schedule that will be shot at a specially erected village set in Ramoji Film City.
Will Give 12,500 per acre Every Year To Farmers: YS Jagan
YSRCP chief YS Jagan has offered almost every scheme at free of cost to farmers so as to appease for the upcoming elections. He announced free power for agriculture, interest free loans for farmers, financial assistance of Rs 12,500 to famers every year in the month of May.
Addressing the public meeting in Icchapuram, Jagan said farmers will be given high priority in his government which will resemble like his father YSR’s rule. He went on to say that once he comes to power, he would like to rule the state for 30 years and after his death every household in the state, should have a photo of his and his father’s. He appealed to his partymen and supporters to take the ‘Nava Ratnalu’ scheme to every corner of the state and create awareness about them.
