On 16th or 17th of December, it is going to be a historic day in the construction of Polavaram dam. Navayuga Engineering Company is trying a Guinness record in the engineering marvel.

The company will be attempting an epoch-making engineering feat by pouring 28,000 cubic meters of concrete in 24 hours testifying to the global engineering credentials of our country. This is a never before feat in the history of Indian engineering sector and Navayuga has invited the Guinness officials as well as people to witness this feat.

Polavaram is considered as a lifeline for Andhra Pradesh. It would be providing water for irrigation and drinking to many districts of North Andhra.

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken it as the prestigious project and aims to complete the construction of the dam by 2019.

If inside buzz in TRS circuits is to be believed, KCR’s son KTR would be elevated as the Chief Minister. However, it would not be done in a haste and it would happen in a step-by-step manner. As part of the strategy, KTR has been made the TRS working president.

Although the chorus of KTR as the next CM had been there even in the previous term, KTR wasn’t proved then. He has been perceived as well articulative and good administrator, but politically he was yet to be proven then.

But 2018 general elections have smashed all those apprehensions on KTR. KTR won with a huge majority of nearly 90,000 votes. This is a proof of his mass hysteria. Unlike Harish Rao (who won with 1,20,650 votes majority), KTR had a strong opponent candidate. Yet, KTR managed to get nearly 90,000-vote majority.

This is not all. He is also the in-charge of Rangareddy district and Greater Hyderabad region where many of TRS candidates won with a thumping majority against rivals. Even tough seats like Kukatpally, Serlingampally, Khairatabad, Uppal, Rajendra Nagar where TRS hadn’t made its foray before were bagged by the pink party this time around. This has increased the popularity of KTR within the party and outside the party. KTR’s popularity has doubled in TRS and respect for him has substantially increased among the party workers.

Now, KTR is slowly increasing his coterie within the party. Many of the party MLAs are also showing a lot of interest to increase their bonhomie with him who is seen as the future CM of the Telangana and successor to KCR. Talk is also has it that KTR would play his role well in deciding the cabinet positions soon.

All these indicate are adding to the ongoing rumours in TRS that KTR would be made as the CM of Telangana in six months and KCR would leave to Delhi to play significant role in national politics along with Asaduddin Owaisi.

It seems Telangana Congress leaders are in no mood to accept the results of Assembly polls. The shocking defeat of Congress led People’s Front (Praja Kutami) has created disbelief in not just Congress party workers and supporters but also in general public.

While TRS won 88 seats, Congress could win only 19 and its ally TDP won 2 seats. Besides the unbelievably low number of seats, what has surprised everyone is the victory margins. While Congress candidates won with narrow margins, TRS’s candidates won with huge majorities.

“TRS candidates who got backlash from people during campaigning also got huge majorities. How is it possible? Also there is difference between the actual votes polled, total votes counted and the voting percentage announced by Election Commission in many constituencies. How is it possible? How can EC officials announce three figures for the same constituency? Is this not enough to prove that there are irregularities? We have completely lost trust in Election Commission and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs),” said senior Congress leader Mallu Ravi, explaining the reasons behind Congress raising doubts over EVMs.

While the huge defeat pushed the whole Congress unit into shock, slowly the leaders are coming out from shock and planning future course. First of all TPCC has directed all Congress candidates to file RTI petitions and get the details of votes polled, votes counted and others in all constituencies.

Later Congress has decided to raise the issue in Parliament and demand for a Joint Parliamentary Commission inquiry on the irregularities in polls.

TPCC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan announced that Congress will launch a movement in Hyderabad demanding to Bring back Ballot Paper system in elections again in India.

TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao is known for taking daring decisions. While his detractors criticise him saying he is reckless, his supporters appreciate him as daring and audacious. Now, after the victory of TRS in Assembly polls once again, everyone is unilaterally accepting that his risky decisions are giving good results for TRS.

The victory in 2018 polls and swearing in as Chief Minister for the second term has certainly made KCR even bolder and audacious. This was clearly visible in the way he addressed media conference after victory and now the decision to make his son and former Minister KTR working president of TRS, keeping aside his nephew Harish Rao, proves it.

As soon as becoming working president, KTR went to Harish Rao’s residence and both posed for shutterbugs. While Harish welcomed KTR’s promotion as working president, he is definitely not going to be happy with the development.

While it was an open secret that KCR was giving importance for KTR and grooming him to take over reins all through these years, it was never done officially. Therefore even Harish Rao was remaining silent and carried on his work without expressing any displeasure. But KCR has now officially announced that KTR is the boss of TRS after KCR and all others have to fall in line. Now Harish Rao will certainly come up with his own plans to chart his future course. Even if Harish maintains patience, MLAs supporting him, his followers in the party will not stay patient and will surely step up pressurise on him. Atleast to protect his supporters and cadres, which he earned after years of hardwork and to safeguard his future Harish will make his own moves in the future if not immediately.

In fact by making KTR working president, KCR has even given a reason for Harish to rebel or part ways, unkowingly.

“If Harish would have rebelled earlier, he would have got badname for rebelling against his own uncle who helped him grow. But now he will surely get sympathy from cadres and people. So if he rebels in the future, he will have advantage, while KCR will be seen as villain who tried to spoil Harish future to protect his son’s future. It would have been better, if KCR postponed this decision atleast by two of three years more,” said a senior TRS leader, close to party’s top leadership, seeking anonymity.

Already Congress has been publicising that war between KTR and Harish will breakout, leading to split of TRS. Now Congress leaders, Who were completely depressed with the results are eagerly tracking developments in TRS to see how this will impact Telangana politics and now see Harish as the only hope for them to unsettle KCR.

With all these possibilities and aspirations, now the big question emerging on everyone’s mind is “Has KCR taken the right decision at a time when TRS is in a clear high with no competition from the political opponents. Hasn’t KCR given a reason for Harish to rebel?”

KCR’s recent comment offering ‘return gift’ to Chandrababu Naidu by entering into AP politics has sent shockwaves among YSRCP and Jana Sena.

KCR has given enough hints that he would support and campaign for YSRCP and Jana Sena to dethrone Chandrababu in the ensuing AP Assembly polls to be held in April 2019 as a ‘return gift’ to Chandrababu who worked against TRS in recent Telangana Assembly polls by forging Mahakutami with Congress, TJS and CPI.

However, KCR’s ‘return gift’ is learnt to have sent jitters down the spine of YSRCP and Jana Sena leaders and cadre.

They fear that if KCR campaigns or supports them in AP, it will only benefit TDP like Chandrababu’s support to Congress helped TRS to win elections with record majority.

Like Chandrababu’s campaign in Telangana flared up “Telangana sentiment’ against Andhra, they feel KCR’s campaign in AP will flare up ‘Andhra sentiment’ against Telangana, which will thrash YSRCP and Jana Sena.

YSRCP and Jana Sena leaders are requesting their respective party high commands not to invite or accept KCR campaigning for them and thereby benefitting the TDP.

TDP leaders on the other hand are happy over KCR’s ‘return gift’ if that meant campaigning for YSRCP and Jana Sena.

TDP chief Chandrababu, TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy and Minister Adinarayana Reddy heartily welcomed KCR into AP politics and campaign against TDP in the ensuing elections as they have learnt from their recent Telangana experience how Chandrababu’s campaign backfired and benefited TRS instead of benefiting Mahakutami.
