In what can be considered a rude shock to Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, former Union minister Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy on Tuesday took a complete U-turn on his plans to join the TDP.

Speaking to media in Kurnool, Kotla denied the media reports that he was joining the TDP.

“There is no truth in the reports that my family is joining the TDP. Some media houses carried reports that I have already joined the TDP.

It is true that we have inclined towards the TDP on certain conditions that the government should complete major irrigation projects pending in Kurnool, as per the wishes of my followers,” he said.

At the same time, Kotla also said it was not just from the TDP that he had received invitation.

“I have got offers even from YSR Congress party. I have not taken any decision yet,” he said.

Interestingly, it was only last week that Kotla, along with his wife and ex-MLA Kotla Sujatha and son Raghavendra Reddy met Naidu over dinner at his Vundavalli residence.

He is learnt to have asked for TDP ticket for Kurnool LS seat for himself and assembly seat for his wife from Dhone and for his son from Aluru assembly constituency.

While Naidu agreed for Kotla’s demand for Kurnool LS seat, he did not give any specific assurance on the MLA tickets to Sujatha and Raghavendra. Perhaps, that led to Kotla developing second thoughts on joining the TDP.

It remains to be seen whether they have got any specific assurance from YSRC. In any case, Kotla’s U-turn is a big setback for Naidu!

Naga Babu has supported Narendra Modi and defended him saying whether Modi has no other work other than diverting investments from AP to Gujarat as claimed by the story aired by the ABN.

Throughout the video, Naga Babu was humorous at his best while he had projected how ABN and Andhra Jyothy are doing Bhajana for TDP. While this video of Naga Babu is garnering praises from a section of Mega fans, TDP fans are alleging that Naga Babu has crossed the line by all means by targeting both AP State government that is striving to get investments to AP and also media.

Maverick evangelist K A Paul, who has launched Praja Shanti Party before 2014 elections, has become a laughing stock both in the mainstream media and social media, for his incoherent talk and tall claims.However, he has become a rage in the social media for his funny comments and “lucrative offers” to other parties.

One day, he makes serious comments against Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the very next day, he says he will make Naidu as his advisor if his political party comes to power in the state.

Similarly, he has been making scathing attack on YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy describing him as the most corrupt politician in the country.

Now, Paul says Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan will garner only five per cent of votes if he contests alone in the coming elections of Andhra Pradesh.

He said that he will offer as many seats as possible for Pawan Kalyan, if he wants.

He expressed confidence that he will become Chief Minister if Pawan Kalyan expresses his solidarity towards him.

Earlier, Paul welcomed former MLA Vangaveti Radhakrishna into his party and also assured Vijayawada constituency ticket.

Paul also offered him a berth in his cabinet, if his party is voted to power. He also offered to donate Rs 100 crore to Vangaveti’s trust, if he fails to fulfill his promises.

Normally, any government going for polls in the election year presents vote-on-account budget, which is only to seek Legislature approval for meeeting government expenditure till elections are over and new government takes over after polls. There will be no sops in these interim budgets.

But Modi recently presented budget in Parliament which is more like a regular budget with sops like Rythu Bandhu, income tax exemption etc despite knowing very well that there is no value for this budget before polls and a new government will come up with full-fledged Budget after assuming office.

Chandrababu too came out with a budget today (Tuesday) in AP Legislative Assembly to woo voters of all sections before crucial Assembly polls with fake sops and fake allotments.

On one side, the TDP government claims in the Budget that the fiscal deficit of state touched a whooping Rs 32,390 crore, but showers sops like increasing unemployment allowance from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per month, doubling of social security pensions, an additional Rs 500 crore for housing for poor etc.

Surprisingly, the government also claimed that AP has a revenue surplus of Rs 2099 crore while Chandrababu and all other TDP leaders crying throughout the day of being a revenue deficit state for the past five years.
