Trending Pic: Where is black money?

Share

All the loud promises made by BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in fighting black money were only confined to election campaigning and the poll promise of bringing back all the black money from swiss accounts was totally forgotten by the BJP-government. To remind the same to this government, a photo featuring all the colorful currency notes is now going viral on social media.

Political activists and general netizens are taking a swipe at PM Modi and throwing a satirical question at BJP government: “Modi ji brought Pink money, Yellow money, Orange money, Blue money and Green money, but what happened to the black money?” Out of the several comments on social media, a netizen straightly took a shot at Modi: “New currency notes are glittering in too many ways. Despite such an explosion of colors, one color is still missing and that one is black which you promised to bring back!”

During the 2014 poll campaigning, Narendra Modi gave an assurance to the voters about bringing back the black money stashed in foreign banks and depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian bank account. But his government miserably failed to work in that direction and rather brought in more pain in the form of demonetization and GST.

The rise and rise of Revanth Reddy within Congress

Share

Known for his ferocious and frontal attacks on KCR’s family, A. Revanth Reddy has been one of the most preferred star campaigners for Congress leaders in election campaigns. Formerly with TDP, Revanth Reddy is Congress’ candidate from Kodangal which is among 14 constituencies in Mahbubnagar district.

After KCR-led government allegedly accused Revanth Reddy in the cash-for-vote case, the battle between Revanth Reddy and KCR got personal. Despite such vicious attacks and mudslinging by TRS leaders, Revanth Reddy stood his ground firmly. He is also the only person in Telangana who opposes the TRS government despite being known for its high-handedness.

After shifting to Congress, which has several senior leaders in the party including his uncle Jaipal Reddy, Revanth Reddy bagged the role of Telangana Congress Working President and grew within the party. While his entry was initially seen as a disappointment for several senior Congress leaders who consider themselves as CM candidates, he has turned the tide within Congress party in his favour and has won praise from all sections of cadre.

Revanth Reddy’s growing popularity is evident within the Congress as several candidates are betting big on him for their campaigns. He has gotten so busy in campaigning for other Congress candidates that he has to check his dates and give them time. Many Congress leaders feel that Revanth’s canvassing can turn the tide around for them and make a huge difference in winning voters. On the other hand, TRS leaders are calling Revanth and requesting him not to campaign in their constituencies. Such is his effect on voters, say Congress leaders.

His growing popularity within Congress came to the fore when Congress President Rahul Gandhi personally requested him to translate his speech in Kodangal. It is evident that Revanth has won people’s support and hence, is the most preferred CM-candidate for Telangana after KCR. By garnering such an enormous image as a mass leader, will Revanth Reddy be Prajakutami’s CM candidate? Only time will tell.

KTR Draws Comparison Between Lokesh & Suhasini

Share

TRS leader KT Rama Rao has criticized Chandrababu Naidu for fielding Nandamuri Suhasini from Kukatpally constituency. Taking part in the campaign in KPHB, KTR alleged that Naidu is planning to distance the Nandamuri family from politics.

“Lokesh was made the IT minister of AP by giving MLC seat whereas Suhasini who has no experience in politics is asked to contest the elections. This shows Naidu is conspiring against the Nandamuri family. That’s is why she is given a losing constituency and made a scapegoat. Suhasini’s defeat will also close the doors for her brothers, Kalyan Ram and Jr NTR,” said KTR.

The caretaker IT minister appealed to the people to vote for Madhavaram Krishna Rao and assured for the all-round development of Kukatpally.

Movie Review: 2.0

CAST
Rajanikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and others

Director – Shankar
Producer – A Subaskaran
Banner – Lyca Productions
Music – AR Rahman

The most awaited movie of the year 2.0 is out in theaters now. The sensational duo Shankar and Rajanikanth is back after Robo with its sequel 2.0. While the original was a film made for the regional audience, 2.0 is aimed at the international audience. It is India’s first super hero film that sets the bar very high than anyone could imagine.

What is it about?

Cell phones keep vanishing from the hands of people, which panics the public and government. Some of the VIPs also get killed in a mysterious way and scientist Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) proposes to bring Chitti the Robot (Rajinikanth) back to life. Chitti comes and counters the evil power, a giant bird. He succeeds to contain it, but it escapes with bigger powers. Is there a plan B? 2.0 is the answer to it. But who is behind the giant bird? What is the reason for targeting mobile phones?

Performances:

Rajanikanth’s superstardom is an added bonus for 2.0 to reach the larger audience. He is fine as Vaseegaran and Chitti. But he sets the screen on fire as 2.0. There is another surprise package too. Akshay Kumar is never seen in his usual look. He is impressive as the villain fighting for a good cause. His act as the old man, a social activist is very good. Amy Jackson makes an impression with her stunning looks.

Technicalities:

Shankar believed that the character Chitti has the super hero potential and he has worked a script around the idea. He had a clear aim to make an Indian movie with truly international standards. It is not easy to achieve something that Shankar has done in 2.0. His imaginative skills and his vision is second to none. Shankar, who usually tries to tick all the boxes of a commercial film, made sure to avoid the nonsense and focused on the spectacle.

Rahman’s background music is world class and so is the cinematography. Shankar avoided songs in the narrative, but the song that comes during the end titles leaves us wanting for more. Visual effects are not breathtaking but definitely good compared to Indian cinema standards. Production values are supreme. Producers trusted in Shankar’s vision and had spent a fortune in making it.

Thumbs Up:

Final battle sequence

Chitti’s Reloaded and Re-reloaded versions

Shankar’s imagination

Visual excellence

Technical aspects

Thumbs Down:

Too little story

An okayish first half

Analysis:

Shankar always picks a cause that is relatable as the main theme. This time he discusses about the harm that we are doing to nature by using mobile phones. Extensive use of mobile phones is harming in nature in a way that we couldn’t even realize. Mobile network companies using high frequencies that are dangerous to nature has been pointed out in 2.0. The film is based on this socially relatable topic, but Shankar makes a superhero film out of it.

A fifth force rises against the humans and the man has to counter it with a super hero. Chitti – The Robot is rebooted to contain it. The sequences involving the bird and Chitti are engaging. However, the first half of the film seems a bit clumsy with the bird and cell phones going on a rampage without any reason. The narrative gets on track once the motive and back story is revealed. It is non-stop action once 2.0 enters the scene.

Rajanikanth’s antics and mannerisms are highly entertaining in this part. Shankar packs in some very good surprises during the lengthy final duel, which not only thrills but also leave a lasting impact on its viewers. Thankfully, Shankar didn’t insert any songs into the narrative even for commercial reasons. The terrifically visualized and executed action sequences are breathtaking to watch. Kids will have a blast watching 2.0 in action.

However, the ending seems a bit hurried with not much resistance offered from the evil bird. 2.0 has its weaknesses, but the visual experience overpowers them. Films like 2.0 are very rarely made, in fact it is the first of its kind on Indian screen. That itself is enough to make it worth watching only on the big screens. Kudos to Shankar and his team for coming up with groundbreaking stuff. Go watch it.

Naidu Teaches Modi On Effective Governance!

Share

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who considers himself as great administrator, is now trying to teach a lesson or two to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on how to manage bureaucracy and govern the country.

On Friday, Naidu blamed it on Modi for encouraging inefficient officials by posting them in higher positions.

He alleged that Modi had dumped inefficient officials from Gujarat in New Delhi. He said that the authorities at the helm of higher institutions must be efficient, but Modi brought the inefficient officials from Gujarat with vested interests.

“That will cause more damage to the governance across the country and it will continue for some more time,” he said while discussing the performance of collectors and other IAS officials in the State at the collectors’ conference in Undavalli in Guntur.

He observed that Modi might get temporary satisfaction but it will harm the country for long time.

He observed that the efficient officials must be taken into Union Government if Modi really wanted to provide good governance. But it had not happened, he added.

The chief minister also suggested officials to give publicity to the government programmes being implemented by the Government.

He said despite of rendering good service and providing welfare, the public satisfaction is not as expected, because of failure in creating awareness among public, he added.

KCR Eyeing 50% Seemandhra Votes

Share

KCR is confident of TRS improving its performance in Hyderabad in the ensuing Assembly polls to be held on December 7.

KCR is convinced that about 20 lakh votes of Seemandhra people in Hyderabad out of a total of 40 lakh would vote for TRS in Assembly polls and that TRS would bag the majority of the seats this time.

KCR’s calculation is based on a survey done by two independent agencies.

The survey revealed that 90 per cent of the Seemandhra people are happy with the functioning of TRS government and also with KCR for ensuring their safety and security during the past four and half years.

However, half of the Seemandhra voters want to vote for TDP-Congress combine because they want the party of their region (TDP) to be their voice in Telangana Legislative Assembly.

The survey revealed that Seemandhra settlers voted one-side for TRS in GHMC elections, because with GHMC elections, there would not be any change in government in Telangana but when it comes to the crucial Assembly polls, they want their party (TDP) to be a partner in Congress-led government and even if Mahakutami did not form the government, they want their party MLAs to raise their voice in Assembly.

Though the survey results were a tad discouraging, TRS and KCR are reportedly enthused as they hope that 20 lakh Seemandhra votes for TRS would fetch better results for TRS when compared with 2014 elections.

In 2014 elections, the TDP-BJP combine bagged 14 out of 24 seats in Hyderabad GHMC limits, while TRS got only three and MIM bagged 7.

Assuming that MIM will repeat its performance, KCR hopes to win around 10 to 12 seats in Hyderabad by winning 50% of the Seemandhra vote share. He has entrusted his son KTR with the responsibility for wooing the Seemandhra voters.

KTR has been holding special meetings with Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad for the past one week, holding roadshows and assuring them that only TRS would ensure their safety and security in Hyderabad while TDP is trying to divide people based on regions with a conspiracy to damage the development and image of Hyderabad.

‘Small Modi’: Chandrababu Naidu’s Jibe At KCR

Share

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu Thursday dubbed ruling TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao as “small Modi”, alleging he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were ‘cheating’ people.

“There is one big Modi in Delhi and small Modi here in the form of KCR (as Rao is popularly known). People are scared of the duo. Both are cheating people,” he said referring to “unfulfilled” electoral promises made by them.

Addressing a road show in Hyderabad as part of campaigning for the Congress-led four-party People’s Front for the December 7 Telangana assembly polls, he also claimed whoever posed questions to PM Modi would be subjected to searches by the CBI or the Income Tax department or the Enforcement Directorate.

PM Modi was destroying constitutional bodies, he said.

“A situation is emerging where there is no democracy. I cannot keep quiet. That is why me and Congress decided to work together to save democracy,” Mr Naidu, whose party is part of the front, said. He claimed that the TDP was the brain behind the development of Hyderabad and Telangana, saying ‘Cyberabad (IT district in Hyderabad) was his brainchild and he had brought software giants like Microsoft.

Earlier, talking to reporters, the TDP supremo defended joining hands with the Congress, saying they had no ideological differences with the Rahul Gandhi-led party.

Mr Naidu, who shared the dais with Gandhi at a couple of campaign meetings Wednesday in the state, said there was a democratic compulsion for non-BJP parties to come on a single platform.

The Congress has roped in the TDP, CPI and M Kodandaram-led Telangana Jana Samithi to form the People’s Front to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the assembly polls.

Chandrababu Naidu, who snapped ties with the BJP-led NDA earlier this year on the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh, said the BJP had no chance of winning any of the five states which were presently under various stages of the election process.

“Modi disappointed the nation. People trusted him so much… But he disappointed the nation. Everybody is living under pressure and tension. It is very bad for the nation that they are misusing institutions like CBI, ED and Income Tax,” he claimed.

On the proposed meeting of non-BJP parties on December 10, Chandrababu Naidu said there would be no formal invitation to any party.

On being asked who would lead the anti-BJP coalition, he said, there were efficient people and able administrators who would take the role.

“Who is Narendra Modi? Till 2014 he was just a chief minister. He was able to lead (his party to a win). Now there are efficient people and able administrators. They will lead. We will bring a consensus on that,” he said.

Mr Naidu, who has been meeting leaders of various opposition parties in the recent weeks, ruled himself out of the race for prime ministership.

“I am not in the race for prime ministership… I’ve said many times. I am not expecting any position or any incentive out of this initiative,” he said.

The TDP chief asserted that the People’s Front was going to win the coming polls and form the government in Telangana.

At the roadshow, Mr Naidu said the TDP was committed to the development of Telangana and he had no intention of entering into the state politics and would confine himself to Andhra Pradesh.
