BJP MP Konda Praises CM Revanth Reddy’s Disciplined Lifestyle

Share

In a rare and refreshing moment of bipartisan appreciation, BJP senior leader and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy publicly praised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, drawing widespread attention and applause. The unexpected gesture occurred during an event marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse, where leaders from across the political spectrum had gathered.

Both Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Revanth Reddy were present—one as an opposition Member of Parliament, the other as the head of the state government. While political events often highlight differences, this gathering stood out for its surprising show of mutual respect.

During his address, Konda steered clear of political barbs or policy critiques. Instead, he spoke warmly about Revanth Reddy’s personal values, especially his commitment to a disciplined and healthy lifestyle. “Revanth has never smoked, never consumed alcohol, and has always stayed away from drugs or any harmful substances,” Konda stated, adding, “He’s one of the few politicians I’ve seen who leads such a clean and principled life. He prefers playing football to unwind rather than indulging in vices.”

His remarks were met with loud applause from the audience, a sign that such cross-party recognition resonated with those present. CM Revanth Reddy, clearly moved by the rare gesture, responded with humility—folding his hands and bowing in acknowledgment of the praise.

In a political climate often marked by hostility and confrontation, moments like these serve as a reminder that mutual respect and civility can still find a place in public discourse.

Thug Life Fails at Box Office, Faces OTT Release Controversy

Share

Director Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped film Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha, has unfortunately turned out to be a major box office disappointment. Despite the strong star cast and pre-release buzz, the film failed to resonate with audiences and is now labeled as a commercial disaster.

During the promotional phase, Kamal Haasan had announced that Thug Life would follow the standard protocol of releasing on OTT platforms only eight weeks after its theatrical debut. However, in light of its poor theatrical performance, reports suggest that the makers opted for an early digital release, with Netflix having secured the film’s streaming rights.

This move has sparked controversy, especially in North India, where a mandatory eight-week window between theatrical and OTT releases is strictly observed. Films that violate this rule are usually barred from screening in national multiplex chains such as PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis.

In response to the breach, multiplex chains have reportedly imposed a penalty of ₹25 lakh on the film’s producers for violating the release window agreement. The incident has stirred discussions in the industry about the challenges films face when they underperform at the box office.

Recently, Mani Ratnam issued a public apology, acknowledging the film’s failure to meet audience expectations and expressing regret over the outcome.

As Thug Life heads to OTT sooner than anticipated, all eyes are now on its digital performance, which may offer a chance at redemption.

Mission: Impossible Composer Lalo Schifrin Dies at 93

Share

Los Angeles – Legendary composer Lalo Schifrin, best known for crafting the iconic Mission: Impossible theme, passed away on Thursday at the age of 93, according to U.S. media reports. His death was confirmed by his son, Ryan Schifrin.

Born Boris Claudio Schifrin on June 21, 1932, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Schifrin was a musical prodigy who masterfully blended classical training with jazz influences. His father, Luis Schifrin, served as concertmaster of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic for 25 years, inspiring Lalo’s early immersion in music.

Schifrin’s career spanned over six decades and included scores for nearly 100 films. Notable works include The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Bullitt (1968), Cool Hand Luke (1968), and Dirty Harry (1971). But it was the pulsating, unconventional rhythm of his Mission: Impossible theme for the 1966 television series that immortalized him in pop culture. That same tune continues to power the blockbuster Tom Cruise film franchise.

A jazz pianist and orchestral conductor, Schifrin’s unique style was shaped by American jazz greats like Charlie Parker and Louis Armstrong. His life changed after a chance encounter with jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie, who invited him to the United States—a move that launched Schifrin’s international career in 1958.

His work earned him multiple Grammy Awards, including for The Cat and Jazz Suite on the Mass Texts. He also received several Oscar nominations and was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 2018, presented by longtime collaborator Clint Eastwood.

Schifrin is remembered not just for his unforgettable compositions, but for bridging musical worlds and redefining the sound of Hollywood action and suspense.

Chiru-Nagarjuna Combo Buzz

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi and King Nagarjuna sharing screen space together is a dream that both Mega and Akkineni fans have long been waiting for. The thought of these two legendary actors — who also happen to be close friends — appearing in one movie is something fans are truly excited about. Everyone is eagerly wondering when this iconic combination will finally come to life on the big screen.

Whichever director manages to bring them together will undoubtedly be a lucky one. After all, directing Chiru and Nag together requires immense skill and passion. Interestingly, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a senior filmmaker who can make this happen. Nagarjuna has always supported new talent, and recently Chiranjeevi too has been encouraging young directors who come up with strong stories and a clear vision. So, there’s every chance that a promising new director could land this golden opportunity.

If a talented storyteller can craft the perfect script that matches the stature of these two superstars, the doors will open. Even if a new filmmaker doesn’t get the directorial chance immediately, this kind of a story pitch could still pave their way into the industry.

Back in the day, legendary filmmaker EVV Satyanarayana attempted to team up Chiru and Nagarjuna, but it didn’t materialize. Since then, no one has seriously pursued this exciting combo. Now, all eyes are on who will rise to the occasion and finally make this collaboration happen. Let’s wait and see who takes that first bold step toward creating history.

The US Dream Is Slipping

Share

Every year, thousands of Indian students arrive in the United States, driven by ambition and the promise of a brighter future. With dreams fueled by advanced degrees and the allure of global opportunities, they hope to secure high-paying jobs and long-term careers. But for many, that dream begins to unravel soon after graduation.

An unforgiving job market, capped H-1B visa opportunities, and a lack of employer sponsorships have left many international graduates at a crossroads — settle for lower-tier roles, return home, or risk career stagnation.

A Reddit post recently shed light on this growing dilemma. “I had 3 years of experience and was working at TCS until 2023,” the user wrote. “I took a sabbatical to pursue a Master’s in the US, hoping it would open doors. I completed the degree in 1.5 years and have been job hunting for the past 6 months — but haven’t had any success due to the tough market.”

The user went on to express a deeper concern. “Now I’m thinking of returning to India and rejoining TCS, but their new bench policy is making me anxious. If you’re on the bench for more than 35 days, you might be let go — and with the current high bench count, I’m worried I won’t get a project in time. It feels like I’m on the verge of losing both: my US dream and my job back home. I’m confused and not sure what to do.”

The post sparked widespread reactions. Some pointed to flawed expectations and institutional shortcomings:
“You did your MS from practically a tier-3 college in the US. These colleges exist mainly to profit from desperate international students. Don’t go to the US unless it’s an Ivy League or at least a top 30 school,” one commenter wrote bluntly, though they also noted that small firms can provide a foothold, even if green card sponsorship is unlikely.

Others encouraged grit and adaptability. “Keep job hunting till the last possible moment. You’ve made it to the US — that’s already a huge step. This decision will impact generations. And forget TCS — there are plenty of companies in India hiring people with three years of experience, if you’re good at tech.”

A third user emphasized upskilling as the key differentiator: “Focus on your skills. In this competitive landscape, aim to become a full-stack developer. Learn how to build with LLMs, LangChain, and related frameworks. Even if things don’t work out in the US, you’ll land a high-paying job in India.”

Despite the varying tones, a common message emerges: A US degree no longer guarantees success. The new reality demands more than just credentials — it calls for strategic thinking, continuous upskilling, and emotional resilience. Whether abroad or back home, navigating this uncertain terrain means redefining what success looks like — and staying ready for the detours.

US Visa Rule Social Media Disclosure Now Mandatory

Share

In a significant policy shift impacting all U.S. visa aspirants, the U.S. Embassy in India announced on Thursday that visa applicants are now required to disclose all social media usernames and handles used in the past five years. The directive applies to all individuals completing the DS-160 visa application form and is part of enhanced background screening procedures aimed at strengthening national security.

“Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used in the last five years on the DS-160 visa application form. Applicants certify that the information provided in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit,” the embassy stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The embassy also issued a warning: failure to provide accurate or complete social media information may result in visa denial and could disqualify individuals from obtaining a U.S. visa in the future. “Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,” it emphasized.

The move aligns with the Trump-era policy aimed at reinforcing security measures and preserving the integrity of the U.S. visa system.

Earlier this week, the embassy also advised student visa applicants under the F, M, and J categories to set their social media profiles to public visibility. This requirement, according to the embassy, is intended to facilitate the vetting process necessary to verify applicants’ identities and determine their admissibility under U.S. law.

These developments come amid a broader suspension of new student and exchange visitor visa interviews, which was implemented across all U.S. consulates last month.

Thaman’s Epic Troll Takedown

Share

SS Thaman, one of Tollywood’s most sought-after music composers, has a jam-packed schedule filled with big films and chart-topping albums. Yet, even amidst his busy work, Thaman never shies away from answering a troll. Recently, after sharing a light-hearted clip from his Celebrity Cricket League match with the caption, “Don’t bowl short ball bro,” a Twitter user attempted to mock him with a sarcastic Dhoni reference: “Short ki slot ki theda telinapude ardam aindi nuv Dhoni fan ani.”

Thaman didn’t take it lightly. Quick with a witty comeback, he replied, “Ok Ra Vachiii nerchukunntaaa address pampu bae!” The sharp one-liner immediately caught fire on social media, with fans praising Thaman for his bold response.

His feed was soon flooded with reactions — some people cheering him on for standing his ground, while others suggested he ignore the negativity. But this is very much in Thaman’s style. Whether crafting a powerful background score or swinging a bat, he never hesitates to hit back.

Meanwhile, Thaman is focused on big-ticket projects like Akhanda 2 and OG, with the Akhanda 2 teaser already making waves for its energetic background score. Trolls or not, Thaman’s work and attitude remain unstoppable — one thing’s for sure: he’s not backing down anytime soon.

Manchu Vishnu Opens Up About ‘Kannappa’ Ahead of Release

Share

Manchu Vishnu recently interacted with the media to discuss his much-anticipated film Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The movie features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Madhoo, and Mohanlal. Vishnu is upbeat about the film’s prospects and shared that the advance bookings have been tremendous, with over 1,15,000 tickets sold in the first 24 hours — a feat he described as “Siva Leela.”

Vishnu spoke candidly about his interactions with the censor board, which had some objections — especially concerning the North Indian audiences who may be unfamiliar with Kannappa’s story. “While this story is well-known in the South, it’s new to them. They raised a few concerns about certain dialogues and scenes,” Vishnu explained. However, after detailed discussions, they agreed to make minor changes without compromising the film’s authenticity.

On ticket pricing, Vishnu noted that while the Andhra Pradesh government allowed a ₹50 hike, he has decided against increasing ticket prices in Telangana. “We will hike prices only when theaters cut down on beverage and snack prices,” he quipped.

Though Prabhas will not be attending the pre-release event due to his busy schedule, Vishnu acknowledged the star’s invaluable role, with almost 40 minutes of screen time in Kannappa. “Prabhas and Mohanlal’s presence enables us to give this film a grand pan-India release,” Vishnu stated.

Additionally, Vishnu hopes to screen Kannappa for Pawan Kalyan and get his feedback. “He’s my senior in the industry and his opinion matters to me,” Vishnu said. He also released a heartfelt letter to reviewers, emphasizing his respect for honest critiques while urging everyone to refrain from fake reviews.

The actor concluded by expressing joy that his father and kids have acted in the film. “This is a special film for me, and I hope it becomes a grand success,” Vishnu added.

Ram Charan’s Powerful Message on World Drug Day

Share

On World Drug Day, observed annually on June 26, the Telangana Government hosted a powerful awareness event in Hyderabad as part of the Rising Telangana initiative. The gathering saw participation from prominent leaders like Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, police officials, and celebrities including Ram Charan.

Sharing a heartfelt childhood memory, Ram Charan recalled, “I remember buying popsicles outside my school. That was a place of joy and innocence. Today, those same spots have unfortunately become places where children, often unknowingly, come into contact with drugs.”

He referred to the public outcry in 2015 that first highlighted this issue. “That was a wake-up call,” Charan said. “And as a parent who homeschools my child today, I never thought I’d have to worry about this so deeply. The need for a day like this is heartbreaking but important.”

Charan went on to stress what true happiness looks like. “The real high is succeeding at work or school, spending time with family, or playing with friends. That’s what we should encourage,” he added.

The event also spotlighted the strong measures taken by Telangana’s police and administration to prevent the spread of drugs in schools and public spaces.

“Let’s protect our families, our friends, our schools,” Charan urged. “This fight belongs to all of us—it’s not just the government’s responsibility.” He ended his speech with a powerful call to action: “Let’s all become soldiers in this fight.”

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor Resume Shoot for Peddi

The buzz around Global Star Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana’s upcoming film Peddi is only intensifying as the team reaches a new stage of production. After wrapping major action blocks at Ramoji Film City, the crew is preparing for a fresh schedule as Bollywood beauty Janhvi Kapoor rejoins the shoot on July 12. With nearly 40 days of production remaining, the focus will now shift to capturing romantic scenes and song sequences between the lead pair, generating excitement among fans.

Janhvi, playing the female lead opposite Charan, is set to film some crucial emotional and romantic scenes. Early glimpses of their onscreen chemistry have already created a strong buzz. Though Janhvi was away briefly due to other commitments, her return promises to add more glamour and intensity to the project.

Following the Hyderabad schedule, the team will move to Delhi by the end of the month for a key week-long shoot. This change in backdrop is expected to bring visual richness and new dynamics to the film’s narrative. The makers aim to wrap up the shoot by August, despite the large scale of the project.

Produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi also features an exciting soundtrack by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. Slated for release on March 27, 2026, the movie is shaping up to be a spectacle with its unique blend of sports action, romance, and drama — and as filming progresses, so too does the anticipation.
