Woman Drives Car on Railway Track Near Hyderabad
A young woman caused panic by driving her car along a railway track near Hyderabad on Thursday morning. According to reports, she drove for nearly seven kilometers through the Rangareddy district, disrupting train services for over two hours.
The incident began when she reached the Kondakal level crossing and, instead of crossing the railway gate, veered onto the tracks. This shocked bystanders and created chaos. At Nagulapalli, locals tried to stop her, but she reportedly threatened them with a knife before speeding away.
Her reckless drive continued all the way to Shankarpalli, where an oncoming train was forced to make an emergency stop after the loco pilot spotted the car, narrowly preventing a serious accident. Railway staff, along with locals, eventually stopped the car and overpowered the driver.
Local police rushed to the scene and took the woman into custody. She was identified as Ravika Soni, a native of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, who had been working as a software engineer in Hyderabad. Investigations revealed that she had recently lost her job and was reportedly battling depression.
Police officials are looking into her motive and are also investigating whether she pulled this stunt to make social media content. Ravika was sent for a medical examination, and her family has been informed. Due to this incident, train services between Hyderabad and Bengaluru were severely affected, with several trains delayed at nearby stations.
Thug Life Struggles Despite Star Power
Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life was one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, bringing together two cinematic legends after decades. Even a powerhouse combination like Kamal Haasan as a gangster and Silambarasan as his adopted son, directed by Mani Ratnam, wasn’t enough to make Thug Life click with audiences.

Musk Bans Hashtags in X Ads
Elon Musk has announced that hashtags will no longer be allowed in advertisements on X, describing them as an “esthetic nightmare” in a post shared on Thursday. The move marks the latest in a series of steps aimed at distancing the platform from traditional social media conventions.
“Starting tomorrow, the esthetic nightmare that is hashtags will be banned from ads on 𝕏 (sic),” Musk wrote, reaffirming his stance that hashtags disrupt visual clarity and are no longer necessary in the modern digital landscape.
This isn’t the first time Musk has criticized the use of hashtags. Back in December 2024, he encouraged users to abandon them entirely, labeling them as outdated and visually unappealing. “The system doesn’t need them anymore, and they look ugly,” he stated, suggesting that the platform’s evolving AI capabilities could eliminate the need for traditional tagging mechanisms.
According to Musk, X’s discovery and search features—now powered by Grok, the AI chatbot developed by his company xAI—can intelligently categorize and surface content without relying on hashtags. He believes this transition will result in a cleaner, more streamlined experience for both advertisers and users.
