It is going to be a multi-cornered contest in the ensuing assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, as all the political parties have more or less decided to go alone without forging any alliance with any other party.

Under these circumstances, it is going to be a tough fight in the elections. Especially, the main rivals – the YSR Congress party and ruling Telugu Desam Party, cannot afford to be complacent in any manner and every section of voters is important for both of them.

Since it is a multi-cornered contest, there is going to be split of votes among the contesting parties and so, TDP and YSRC would have to strive hard to gain even a minor edge over each other in attracting voters.

As part of the strategy, YSRC chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is eyeing the votes of neutral voters, who are generally undecided about their voting preferences till the last moment.

Many of them do not even want to exercise their votes, as they might not like any party. If Jagan can convince them and seek their support to give him a chance to make the difference in administration, they might vote for his party and it could make all the difference in the elections.

According to party sources, Jagan is planning to write letters to neutral voters seeking their support to his party in the next elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He will target intellectuals, urban educated upper middle class and private employees who generally keep away from voting.

He will request them to vote for YSRC, as they had given enough opportunities to the TDP in the past.

Sources said the party already gathered information about the neutral voters in every village and urban areas along with their addresses.

Jagan will letters to them and if necessary, he would also meet them personally and discuss all the issues. That would be a master stroke by the YSRC, say analysts.

Actor Sunil toured in Adilabad district and stunned many. All of a sudden why Sunil came to this remote place is something to be noted.Well he did not go to Adilabad for a sightseeing, instead for an election campaign and that too for a TRS candidate. Sunil campaigned in Gundampalli village of Dilavarpur mandal.

His fan is contesting for the Sarpanch position of Gundampallu village and upon his request, Sunil paid a visit to the village. Though Sunil is not at all interested in politics and likes to stay away from them, he bowed down to his fan’s special request.

During his campaign, Sunil appealed to the people to cast their vote and utilise it in a proper manner. He also exuded confidence that his fan would develop the village with complete dedication if elected as Sarpanch.

Getting to know that Sunil is in the village, people gathered in large number to have a glance of this once upon a time famous comedian.

Rubbishing the claims and rumours in media that she may be appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi has clarified that she is going to continue as the Union Territory’s Governor and will remain on the administrative side of governance.

Stating that she is not contesting the Lok Sabha polls, she said that she is happy with what she is doing and has denied reports of her being in race for AP Governor’s post. Her response comes amid media reports emerging that BJP has been considering her name for a while as the new AP Governor as the Andhra Pradesh government has been opposing E.S.L Narasimhan’s way of functioning.

According to the ruling TDP government, Narasimhan has been biased towards Telangana and has been a clandestine informant to the BJP. The TDP government also accused him of spreading false propaganda to benefit Telangana and create a loss to Andhra Pradesh at the Centre.

Interestingly, Narasimhan is the only UPA-appointed Governor who has not been changed by the NDA government as he had remained loyal to the current BJP regime.

Bihar’s BJP minister Vinod Narayan Jha made sexiest remarks on Priyanka Gandhi who was recently appointed as Congress party’s general secretary, in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Jha said, “Priyanka is beautiful, but using that Congress can’t ask votes from people.” He went on to add that she (Priyanka) is wife of Robert Vadra who is accused in several corruption cases. As an individual, Priyanka has achieved nothing.

These comments sparked controversy and did not go well with Congress and the BJP too. The Congress party has hit back at the saffron party for making such disgusting remarks and added that it shows the true nature of BJP and its leaders.

BJP has been attacking Congress ever since Priyanka is given the charge of East UP. But with Jha’s comments, it is now in the receiving end.

While this issue is still in news another BJP minister from Bihar countered the Congress criticism. It’s Bihar deputy CM Sushil Modi who made sarcastic comments on Priyanka resemblance with her grandmother Indira Gandhi. “If we think a person who resemble like another personality then by now we could have many Virat Kohlis’ and Amitabh Bachchans.’ Duplicate do not work in politics,” stated Suhil Modi.

Alleging that YS Jagan has ill-treated him big time, slain Vijayawada based political icon Vangaveeti Ranga’s only son Vangaveeti Radha has blasted big time. Later he added that everyone should work about castes and caste politics, and confirmed that TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu invited him into his party.

Well, whatever Radha said is true to an extent, but then, some of the hardcore fans of his father Ranga are actually differing with his decision. While Radha spoke about the ‘death threats’ issued to him on social media, these fans are asking him to respond to their questionnaire as well.

Some of the questions that are doing rounds on social media are like these:

–Though not proved, many of us still believe that this party has the stains of your father’s murder. So, why joining hands with them?

–If service is your primary aim, and if you think you have immense love and support of people, why not contesting as an independent?

–Rather jumping into so many political parties, from Congress to Prajarajyam to YSR Congress to TDP, why not leave politics for the good?

The latest survey conducted by India Today and Karvy ‘Mood of the Nation’ has predicted that Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA is going to miss the magic figure of 272 if the Lok Sabha Polls are conducted today. The survey also has stated that NDA would gain 35% vote share and win 237 seats and may fall short of 35 seats to retain power.

On other hand, the survey predicted Congress party led UPA may emerge victorious in 107 LS segments with an estimated vote share of 33%. Given that both the national parties won’t be able to grab power on their own, other regional parties are expected to play an important role. The Survey reveals that ‘Others’ would win 140 seats with a significant vote share of 32%. The survey has also projected three possible cases:

1. If Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, SP and BSP joins UPA ahead of election, then UPA may win close to the magic figure number -269 and NDA is estimated to win just 219 seats.

2. If PDP, SP, BSP and TMC joins UPA before the polls and if NDA gains the support of AIADMK, YSRCP, TRS and BJD, then both of groups would gain an equal vote share of 44%. But, UPA is more likely to cross the half way mark of 272 and NDA may settle down with 257.

3. Final case: If PDP, BSP, SP and TMC join the Congress led UPA and If NDA gets the support from YSRCP and AIADMK before polls, UPA may emerge victorious by getting 272 seats and NDA would only get 234 seats.

So, in all possible cases, it’s not going to be an easy election for BJP. The tight fight between both the alliances is evident and also, Others are estimated to play a major role in 2019 general polls.
