Akhil Did Not Want Mr. Majnu Title!
Akhil Akkineni did face two disasters with Akhil and Hello. He is determined to deliver a hit with his next.With the title, Mr. Majnu many thought he is luring Akkineni fans with the title and following the sentiment that worked for his grandfather and father.Laila-Majnu in Telugu became a classic and ANR earned the name of a romantic hero, with the film as Majnu even before Devadasu came out. The later did establish him as the ultimate romantic hero forever.
Nagarjuna after the initial setbacks, acted in the direction of Dasari Narayana Rao, Majnu and that movie started a success streak for him.Shiva and Geethanjali made him a star and big hero but to continue as a romantic hero and continue legacy of ANR, Majnu helped him.
Hence, Mr. Majnu also seemed to be a reminiscent of that. Akhil fearing the same, resisted at first for the title, it seems.But Venky Atluri convinced him and Akhil also expressed big surprise to know that SS Thaman has a 14 year old kid! Many do think Thaman is younger than Devi Sri Prasad, but he isn’t!
Vijay Devarakonda To Make A ‘Ride’?
If you remember the movie, Ride, Nani-Tanish starrer, had a theme of two youngsters wanting same bike for different reasons.They end up fighting each other for the bike and also become friends sharing the bike. Movie did become a hit for Nani, even though not a blockbuster.
Now, latest box office sensation, Vijay Devarakonda did get similar style of script from a Tamil director, for a bilingual, it seems.He is busy with Dear Comrade shoot and the movie shoot will be wrapped up by March for a May release, it seems.
After that he has to start Kranthi Madhav film under Creative Commercials production and Raashi Khanna is playing a role in the film.His next film after Kranthi Madhav’s film could be this bilingual or a film with Arjun Reddy director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it seems.
Megastar Reduce Weight For Koratala?
Koratala Siva and Megastar Chiranjeevi are looking to finish their film for a Sankranthi 2020 release and then Siva wants to work with NTR and may be Vijay Devarakonda.As Sye Raa shoot is coming to an end, Chiru had to increase his weight for starting and some age difference portions in the film, it seems.
For war portions he did reduce the weight and now, Siva asked Megastar to reduce the weight he put-on and get back to Khaidi No. 150 look, it seems.The story is about a social reformer and it will be helpful for politician Chiranjeevi, as well, it seems.
Hence, Chiru asked two months time to join the shoot and in the mean time, Ram Charan asked Siva to start shooting all those scenes that Chiranjeevi is not required, it seems.The character Siva wrote for Chiru will remind Tagore, it seems. From March, regular shoot of the film, is expected to start.
My Version Is Better Than Krish’s – Kangana
Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika is releasing on 25th January and the actress has been promoting the film aggressively.She, in the beginning, said that Krish is the director of the film and she just directed few parts in his absence.
Later, she said she just directed 30% of the movie and Krish directed 70% of the film. Slowly, she started saying that she is the director of the film and Krish name got overshowded mostly.Now in an interview for a National daily, she said, “Krish wanted to make the movie like a revenge drama. Story of Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmi Bai, cannot be just a revenge drama.
I made it into a Patriotic and progressive film that talks about Women Empowerment as well. His version doesn’t have the span for such a film and my version is definitely better than what he planned.Actors walked out because of that but producers liked mine even better and people will also find the movie engaging and interesting.”
Krish did say that the team has changed the story in his absence and it is historically inaccurate as well.
KCR’s visit to AP may clash with anti-BJP rally?
With just two months left for elections in Andhra Pradesh, February and March are likely to witness hectic electioneering and campaigns by political parties in the state. With TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu planning a mega anti-BJP allies’ meeting in Amaravati on February 13th, the schedule of TRS Chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao’s visit to Andhra Pradesh is likely to clash with the timing of the Opposition’s rally.
According to sources, KCR will be visiting YSR Congress Chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s newly constructed house in Tadepally on February 14th. However, this meeting is likely to generate a lot of interest as it will decide the fate of TRS-YSRCP partnership in the upcoming Assembly elections. This will also be KCR’s “return gift” to AP Chief Minister.
On the other hand, the anti-BJP parties’ meeting is scheduled a day before KCR’s visit. The meeting of the anti-BJP front is likely to put nation’s focus on Andhra Pradesh politics. The house-warming ceremony of Jagan’s house is on February 14th. “So, KCR will attend it and have a meeting with Jagan in AP,” inside sources said. While their meeting might not have much at stake, it will surely send a signal to other political rivals in the state, believes TRS High Command.
February is likely to be a politically active month in Andhra Pradesh. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to visit AP in February, ahead of the Lok Sabha and AP assembly elections. Political observers say that KCR has planned his meeting a day after Opposition’s meeting to understand its effect on AP’s electorate. A clever politician that KCR is, he will try to understand the mood of the people and only then visit when the sentiment is neutral. Therefore, political observers predict that his visit might not be immediately scheduled after the anti-BJP Front’s grand meeting.
A lot happening in Kadapa TDP
Kadapa district is a strong hold of YSR Congress party. The ruling TDP wants to give a big shock to YSRCP by winning maximum seats in the district in the upcoming elections.
However, internal fight between the leaders is troubling TDP’s chances of getting strengthened. Minister Adinarayana Reddy and senior TDP leader Rama Subba Reddy are very stubborn to grab the assembly ticket of Jamalamadugu. Though both the leaders are saying ‘Chandrababu’s decision is finally’ at the same time, they are trying their best to convince the TDP chief and putting pressure on him as well.
Chandrababu knew about this and suggested both the leaders to wait for some time. He is in thoughts of allotting Jammalamadugu assembly to one and Kadapa Lok Sabha seat to the other. However, Chandrababu is yet to take a call but mostly he might prefer the sitting MLA.
This could well upset Rama Subba Reddy and his supporters wants the senior TDP leader to contest as independent if denied ticket. Looks a like a headache is on its way for Chandrababu. Even if the TDP boss convinces Rama Subba Reddy, his supporters are in no mood to compromise.
‘Mee Partylo Vundi Aem Peekali,’ Vangaveeti Radha Fires On YS Jagan
Vangaveeti Radha has lashed out at YSRCP chief YS Jagan and talked about the humiliation that he faced in the party.
Speaking to the media amidst the speculations that he would be joining TDP, Radha said, “Thandri Leni Vaadivani Jali Tho Guppetlu Pettukoni Kurchunnanu.. Vadilesthe Gaaliki Kottuku Pothavu Nuvvu. (Being a fatherless guy, I showed mercy on you. You will be wiped out if I leave you), is what Jagan told me when I went to unveil the statue of my father which was arranged by Vangaveeti Ranga followers. While joining you (Jagan) said I’m more than brother and how come my position changed. Did you even bother to call me when I quit the party? Mee Partylo Vundi Aem Peekali (what should I do being in the party).”
Radha further said, from the day he quit YSRCP, they are using social media and are targeting him. “I’m getting life threats from social media. My aim is to fulfil my father’s ambitions to serve the people and I’m ready to die but I would like to ask what satisfaction would you get killing me.” He also added that “YSRCP has no faith on Andhra Pradesh police but I have full trust in them and I can complaint against YSRCP’s attack in social media on me.”
Radha rubbished the rumours that he was offered Rs 100 crore from TDP to join the party. “They are saying a Hundred crore right. I just need the blessings of Kanaka Durga and Vangaveeti Ranga. People who made these allegations should also reveal how did I get such huge money in bags or suitcases.”
When asked how would he join the party which had killed his father, Radha replied that Ranga followers are from all the parties. “Few people came to me and questioned what connection does Ranga’s killing has to do with us and our party as it was done by particular people. Ranga sympathisers are there in every party be it TDP, Jana Sena and others,” added Vangaveeti Radha.
Why do we need AP news in Telangana? asks KTR
Looks like TRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao has found a new grouse to raise his voice against “Andhra people.” This time, taking a swipe at few media houses at an event addressing journalists, he said that a section of media that is publishing Amaravati’s news in Telangana editions, is not publishing Telangana’s news in AP editions.
Lashing out at this indifference and discrimination of a few media houses, KTR said “They are still showing their dominant attitude…just to portray that whatever they do is right. There are some newspapers which publishes Amaravati-related news in Telangana editions. So, why are these not publishing Telangana news in AP editions?.”
Sharing his experience when he was in Delhi recently, he said: “When I was in Delhi and checked the newspaper. There was no news of Telangana. So, when I had asked them, they told me it is Andhra edition. If Andhra edition doesn’t have our news, why should Telangana state have Andhra news? And, when CM speaks about this, media people will talk about freedom of express and get angry,” he added.
K.T. Rama Rao said that this attitude still reflects the fact that they think “We still don’t have wisdom. There is a need to promote media houses with Telangana ideology.” While KTR’s complaint seems to be right from his side.
Baahubali in ‘Top 10 Most-Liked Hindi Films’ list
Director SS Rajamouli’ blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ series has caught the global attention and created umpteen records. While Baahubali: The Beginning was a phenomenal hit, its sequel ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ went on to become a breakthrough hit and ended up as the highest earner at the box office. National Award, Filmfare, IIFA and you name it, the magnum opus swept all the prestigious awards and went to release in the nations that our Indian cinema had never been to.
And now, the Rajamouli-directorial has added another feather to its cap. Based on audience word of mouth, their likeability, rating and data collection from theatrical viewers, Ormax Media has surveyed the 10 most liked Hindi films in last ten years- i.e from 2009-2019. With 85 points, Baahubali-2 has bagged the second position and Baahubali took position-3 by scoring 83 points. Aamir Khan starrer ‘3 Idiots’ has topped the list with 90 points. Another South Indian movie and recent blockbuster ‘KGF’ starring Yash made it to this list in seventh position.
Other Bollywood movies that appeared on this list are Dangal (82) in fourth position, Bhaag Milka Bhaag (82) in fifth, Sanju (80) in sixth, Queen (78) in eighth, Salman Khan’s Bhajrangi Bhaijaan (77) in ninth and Ranbir Kapoor’s Barfi (77) in tenth place. Reacting to it, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda tweeted: “Three of the Top 10 #OrmaxWOM Hindi movies are from South India! Isn’t that really amazing?â€
Besides this survey, Ormax Media also conducted ‘Top 10 Most-Liked Hindi Films’ survey, and it was topped by Sanju with 80 points. Second in the list is the South Indian product – ‘KGF’ (79).
