Radhika Apte, who was introduced to Telugu film industry with the film Dhoni, was later seen in Balakrishna’s Legend and Lion. But if you remember, the actor, in an interview has spoken about how a senior actor here has tickled on her feet without her permission and how others just watched the tamasha. She even told that that was when she decided to say ‘bye’ to the industry.

The actor is now supporting the #MeToo movement as she thinks that women have to raise their voice against all this. The actor has interacted with the media at an event and has said that she hopes that the industry would come up with an ‘equal and genderless’ system to tackle harassment against women.

Radhika has been associated with Kwan Entertainment – one of the biggest celebrity management agencies in India – whose founder has been sacked after four aspiring actresses anonymously accused him of seeking sexual favors.

When asked whether she would still be associated with the company, Radhika said: “I am completely and closely in contact with them. The people who are associated with Kwan have helped me and I have a great relationship with them. They are taking all required action as we all support the (#MeToo) movement.”

“All I can say is that, as an industry, we are trying to come together and find a way of constructively making a system where we all have a safe environment and it’s going on. I am part of that and I hope that we come up with a constructive system which is equal and genderless for every human being,” Radhika added.

Senior character artiste Vizag Prasad is no more. He breathed his last due to a heart attack while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad in the wee hours of Sunday. Prasad (75) had been suffering from age-related illness for the last few days.

Vizag Prasad’s real name is Korlam Parvathi Varaprasada Rao. He hailed from Gopalapatnam in Vizag, and that’s how he got his screen name as Vizag Prasad. He made his acting debut with the 1983 film ‘Babai Abbai’.

In his career spanning nearly 3 and a half decades, Vizag Prasad acted in over 175 movies. He was popular for his roles in Teja’s Nuvvu Nenu, Jai Chiranjeeva, Bhadra, Sundarakanda and Gemini etc. The film fraternity and Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA) expressed grief over Vizag Prasad’s passing away.

Dil Raju has lost his midas touch this year. He hasn’t scored a hit in 2018 in spite of releasing three films already.He couldn’t continue the success streak from last year as Lover and Srinivasa Kalyanam bombed at the box office.

Dil Raju thought of making a movie titled Thank You with director Vegesna Satish prior to the release of Srinivasa Kalyanam. He even made it official during the promotions of the film.Srinivasa Kalyanam’s failure left Dil Raju in shock as he believed that it could bring Shatmanam Bhavati kind of success for him.

Already the film amassed nearly 85+ crores share and after this Sunday this might touch the much needed 91 crores mark as well. In the USA, Aravinda Sametha surpassed Nannaku Prematho full run collection to become NTR’s highest grosser. Aravinda Sametha collected $2,051,183 as per Friday night.

For the last two days, Janasena president Pawan Kalyan has been camping in several villages in Srikakulam which are severely affected due to the Titli cyclone. Most of Pawan’s speeches during his cyclone tours have been against Chandrababu and TDP.

Today, addressing a large gathering of the cyclone affected victims, Pawan announced that he will ask his nephew Ram Charan to adopt at least one village and do his part in its rehabilitation. Pawan’s statement received a thunderous response from the villagers.

Not stopping there, Pawan as usual, targeted TDP leaders. “You people think film stars have a lot of money. But you don’t know that it’s people like Nara Lokesh and Ram Mohan Naidu who have a lot of money, but they don’t take out a single penny from their pockets,” Pawan said.

Irony is that Pawan himself is yet to announce his contribution to the cyclone victims. Although he has been touring the Titli affected villages, there has been a lot of criticism that he is exploiting a natural disaster for his political gains.

Actress Sruthi Hariharan on Saturday accused multilingual south Indian actor Arjun Sarja of sexually harassing her on the sets of a film in 2016. He has dismissed the claim.

“I was shooting for a bilingual film which starred Arjun Sarja, a man whose movies I have grown up watching. I was excited about the opportunity,” Sruthi said in a Facebook post.

During the film rehearsal, the 54-year-old actor who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, had to do a romantic scene with the actress, who played the role of his wife in the film, which she has not named in the post.

“During the rehearsal, we delivered our lines and Mr. Arjun hugs me. With no forewarning or permission, he runs his hands intimately up and down my back. He pulls me closer with my body taut against his and asks the director if we could use this idea of foreplay in the scene,” the 29-year-old actress recalled.

The incident which took place before at least 50 of the film’s crew left her “aghast”, Sruthi said.

“I am all for depicting realism in cinema, but this felt absolutely wrong. His (Arjun) intent seemed anything but professional. I hated that he did it and angry that I didn’t know what to say then,” she added.

The actress said the film’s director had “sensed her discomfort” and that she had shared the incident with her make-up team and informed the direction department that she was not interested to be part of rehearsals.

“During the course of production, every smutty innuendo he (Arjun) made created an unpalatable work environment for me. His salacious invitations to meet him after work appalled me,” added Sruthi, who featured in the critically acclaimed Kannada film “Lucia” (2013).

Though she didn’t want to go back to filming, she had to finish the project she had signed, Sruthi said.

“I choose to come out now because henceforth, I think Mr. Arjun Sarja needs to make sure he doesn’t cross the thin line between two actors and use his position of power to cause another person discomfort or hurt,” she added.

The actress said the #MeToo movement is to make sure “no man ever takes a woman’s personal space for granted, whoever she is to him.

“This (film) industry has helped me achieve my dreams, explore my capabilities and inspired me to be versatile. It breaks my heart to share that I have felt unsafe, disturbed and disappointed in far too many situations,” said Sruthi.

Arjun, popularly known as ‘Action King’, has acted in over 150 movies across Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. He has dismissed the allegations as “false”.

“The allegations being levelled against me are entirely baseless. I am shocked to hear such false allegations,” Arjun told a news channel responding to the sexual harassment allegation.
